Tudor Road Fish And Chip Bar in Hinckley and Bosworth

Only ordered a large portion of chips which cost £4.60. The bag didn’t even feel big enough for a normal portion. When we got home we opened the packaging and there was a small portion of chips, which tasted like they had been sitting in the heated area for over an hour. They tasted like old fat had been used, and were hard. We ended up throwing them away - what a wast of £4.60. We won’t be going back there again!

Put salt on my daughters chips before asking. When I told him he refused to admit it and even though I watched him do it... bare faced liar. Would not recommend

I dont live around here but if this would be my go to takeaway!! Respectful staff, brill food. 10/10

The guy serving is emotionless and comes across as rude. It’s over priced in there, the quality and quantity of the food is very poor. Would not recommend, been a few times now and it’s the same every time, coming away disappointed.

Rubbish chip shop! Worker couldn’t give me the most simple order and the food was merely warm and could tell had been left for a while! Won’t be going back.

Really excellent well cooked food, generous portions. I have been getting my fish and chips here for over 20 years when we first moved to the area. Never overcooked, dry or anything other than delicious. As another reviewer said, the owner doesn't put up with nonsense from the local yobs, good on him

The food is very good, having ate at Tudor Road Fish and Chip bar since I was a child, 20 plus years now. A Chinese Family run it, and I feel many reviews on here fail to understand, or even bother to understand the difference between the two cultures. Chinese is a short, snappy language. The server, and staff have no issue with you at all, and I count them among my friends. Yes, the food isn't always up to absolute perfection, but you are paying a low price, at a Chip Shop, not £180 at the Savoy. Why on earth should this Chip Shop acquiesce to "mini fish and chips" because it's something you like from a rival chip shop? Next you'll want Apple to make PC's. If you can only eat perfect food, you need to stop going out to eat, as it will never rise to the standard conjured up in your head. Many reviews are clearly just racist. I use Tudor Road Fish and Chip bar most Fridays, and always have lovely food, no matter what I order. I find it hard to believe the massive discrepancies, and most marks are high, then there is no middle ground to a plethora of 1 stars, which read as personal attacks, rather than mention food available. I thouraghly recommend Tudor Road Fish and Chip Bar. If you are no culturally diverse, then don't go. If you want a special only produced at another chip shop, go to that chip shop. You don't got to Burger King for a Big Mac. Finally, use your common sense.

Great chip shop, great food. The family are Chinese, and do an excellent job with very rude customers who believe the Chinese way of being polite and reserved is'rude'. Best discount such reviews. Why not order in Mandarin instead? The food is good overall, and the family that run the shop are genuinely pleasant. After multiple attempted robberies I think it is more than fair that they do not suffer fools gladly. Use weekly.

Great fish and chips, plenty as well, great Friday treat or Thursday for that matter mushy peas good, batter crispy been going for years now.

The worst fish and chips I've ever had! The fish was so dry and chewy I couldnt even eat it and everyone in there seemed as miserable as the food!

I Found the food here very bland even the chips were tasteless I would definately recommend going the extra mile and try somewhere else .

The food has always been great, lovely lovely fish and chips....only one problem, the worst portion sizes ever. May as well buy a small bag or a cone of chips wrapped as it will be the same size as the large. Really poor.

Went there the other night with my son and partner the portions were so small I ended up sending out for a Chinese takeaway that was fantastic value for our money

Food is ok, no real problem there. Limited menu (no mini fish and chips, no spring rolls) and opening hours are limited too. Server is generally rude. Don't expect sauce on your chips as you will be told no, even if you offer to pay extra. SAUCE IS ONLY FOR KEBABS

local family business for 25 years . it speaks for something. Local cheap meals ,cheaper than pizza , chinese and indian meal .Good Quality food .

Very good fish and chips, recommend. Friendly service and great kebabs. Tried other shops locally and this is one of the best.

It has the advantage of being my closest fish & chip shop and the quality/price is sufficient to not make me stray further affield and so on that basis it can't be all that bad.

The food is always very nice although the chap is a bit shy with his portions. Sometimes a large bag is about another shops small. Don't let that put you off though.

patatas fritas son encantadoras, sin duda la mejor de la zona es una lástima el Thon de director. Él tiene una actitud, pedí la peces! Él me dijo Joe tienes este. No quería la se secó un aspecto. Así que me preguntó a dejar diciendo que no puedo recoger mi pescado. Es una pena que me gustó el lugar anteriormente.

The chips, scallops and fishcakes are very nice, staff very friendly too. There is also a nice variety of food on offer and very tasty. It's a great, local chippy.

I consider myself a Fish and chip shop connoisseur and believe me this is by far the best Fish and Chip shop around. The Chips have a crisp outer coating as does the batter on the fish. I tried all the other local Chip Shop and nothing comes close. The portions are generous and altogether make a more than adequate meal. My partner also enjoys the peas and pies.

Pie and chips from here is a lovely meal. Batter always tastes fresh on fish. You always get lots of chips. Well worth stopping off if passing

not impressed really ,chips,more like crisps,hard dried greasy bit ends,fish batter was soggy too,and mushy peas tasted sweet

I first went to this chip shop a week ago...great food but service poor. I went again today, they didn't have the pie I wanted so he said I could have another instead...I chose 1. The owner then demanded an extra 15p for the all steak pie! Rude, agressive and slams your change down. No hello or goodbye...just rude. will never go there again! No wonder there wasn't anyone in there!

The owner of this establishment is severly rude and lacks any social skills to serve people properly. Give him your money theres no polite thank you etc.. you hand it to him, he puts the change on the counter like your some leper.i know of many people who go back due to it being the only chippie around, but i have pride and i shall never ever go there again.

Good, clean, polite, honest food...parking can be a problem, otherwise ok...Food is cooked fresh, I would not bother with a kebab.

I have been getting my fish and chips for several years from this shop. Good service, exceptionally quick. Lovely fish and chips, we keep coming back for more, what else can I say??
