The lovely staff here need help, not nearly enough of them. A recently introduced gluten free menu has been considerably reduced, and the wait to order and receive a couple of cold drinks, a panini and a scone was in excess of an hour, the two staff I saw were flat out and did try to keep us informed. The food although perfectly acceptable was not as good as I have had here previously.

As a regular with my mum for lunches in the past we thought today was the day to try breakfast! However, when asking for poached eggs instead of scrambled with the smoked salmon and to be told no was hard to get my head around. As a chef myself I couldn’t work out if it was arrogance from the kitchen or laziness. With there being poached eggs on the menu and myself ordering them on toast I was baffled as to why we couldn’t change the type of eggs with the smoked salmon. I understand complicated breakfast orders but to have a choice of eggs would be nice. Unfortunately due to this hiccup my mum settled for a bacon sandwich which did loose your business money for the sake of an egg.

We had a lovely visit to Tuddenham Nursery and Coffee Shop today. We pre-booked a table for Sunday lunch and arrived for their earliest sitting. My husband requires gluten free meals so we had checked in advance. So glad we had as he was so well provided for. Freshly made Yorkshire pudding, masses of gravy, an individual cauliflower cheese all gluten free, as well as roast beef, roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips. You certainly wouldn’t go hungry! A individual bread and butter pudding had been especially made too with cream, custard or ice cream. Other traditional puddings available. We were also able to read the papers with our coffee which was much appreciated. The kindness of both the owner and her staff felt as good as a big hug. Thank you all.

We found the Garden Centre by accident while on our way to Bury St. Edmunds. Very glad we did as we had breakfast at The Granary Coffee shop and it was excellent. The place was spotlessly clean. The food was prepared to order so consequently all hot and fresh and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Would certainly go there again if in the area.

Myself and a group of friends were at the cafe today to get together over a drink and bite to eat whilst practicing our sign language as we have done on several occasions at this cafe however after about about an hour and whilst we were ordering our next round of drinks we were asked how much longer we were going to be??!!! We were told they were busy and people were waiting for tables. How rude! We were all paying customers supporting a local business and I felt being asked how long we were going to be was most inappropriate and unprofessional. We felt bullied and pushed out. We were also asked if we were having a class there?! We were not, we were simply practicing what we had learnt. What if we were signing because it was our only method of communication, would we still have been asked how long we were going to be??? I would certainly hope not!!! We all left and none of us will return, despite frequently using this cafe in the past. Never again!

3 of us decided to stop at the granary coffee shop today. Nice clean and airy surrounds. Sat outside in a tranquil atmosphere. Was served by a lovely waitress who attended to all our needs. Selection of hot and cold foods as available . We decided on 2 baguettes and 1 ham egg and chips. The chips were chunky and crispy ‘YUM’ salad accompanied with the baguettes had beetroot on, my so favourite thing. Throughly enjoyed it here and will be back to sample something else

Lovely breakfast options, food served piping hot and also loved the fact that a pot of tea for two was actually large enough for two! We booked for Sunday lunch on recommendation of a friend. The service was extremely slow given that it was the beginning of the lunchtime and only had three other tables in use. The two waitresses although pleasant seemed to be very confused and harassed. When the meal did eventually come after 25 minute wait after ordering.....it was OK, nothing to write home about .....plenty on the plates and nice to have the gravy served separately. However the sprouts were dreadfully overcooked and the roast potatoes appeared to have been reheated. After we’d finished we waited quite a while to be cleared and to have the desert menu. Then another 10-15 mins for it to arrive. I’ve been to far better garden centres and will return to our local one in future.

We came here on recommendation of friends to this local restaurant for Sunday lunch. We had booked ahead with the main course ordered as requested. When we arrived our table was set with name on a chalk board nice touch. We then asked what we wanted told the waitress we had preordered ordered but repeated the order three beef and three chicken. The first two place brought out were pork these taken back and the correct order finally brought.I will list in good to bad and a comment. The beef was excellent nice and tasteful with good beef gravy.Good Yorkshire pudding.Carrots and broccoli were cooked OK.The cauliflower cheese was fine but over cooked. The roast potatoes were small and hard the hard with no soft centre greasy as if the have been kept warm for too long.Parsnips were as like the potatoes. The Chicken was just a breast dumped on the plate not appealing at all. This was so dry and kept warm for how long, that the top had formed a crust and very very dry.Why was there no chicken gravy? It’s not good putting thick rich gravy on the chicken. But in this case may have been the only way it was edible. So bad one asked for tomato sauce.Service and Presentation not the best. It’s a shame as we like to support local businesses.

Call in for lunch time snack found they did an offer of a choice of two mains two deserts and tea and coffee for £8.50 at very good value if all satisfactory. We had the fish pie which came with carrots and beans nice fish pie with soft potato topping nice and tasty. The problem meal was the rice which came with the vegetable chilli (also a beef option) the chilli was very nice but the rice was over cooked by at least twice the cooking time, so rubbery you could have bounced it, could only break it partly apart with fingers. Surely the cooked must have notice it would have been nice if the cook came out to apologise. The jam roll pudding and custard was great all served with good flavoured tea. Yes will go back again hope the cook takes note and action on what they serve. Cafe area nice layout.

We've eaten a lovely home cooked fresh breakfast here which was very tasty and certainly will be going back again. Nice potion size and sausages and eggs local too. Took my mother on a Friday lunchtime and both of us are very fussy eaters, by which I mean we don't like greasy food or cheap badly cooked food. We decided to try the Fish and chips as it was on special 7.99 and everyone seemed to be ordering it so we thought we'd try it. Certainly wasn't disappointed, chips very tasty, fresh garden peas or mushy served with a delicious tartare sauce and the cod was coated in a delicious light crispy batter which melted as you ate, absolutely gorgeous. 2 completely empty plates which, believe me is very unusual ! Really really good well worth a visit.

Stopped in to see the garden centre and was delighted to find a coffee shop as well. The Garden Centre is sweet but let down by a very poor lay out with views onto falling down buildings and an unkempt field behind that appears to have some farm equipment left laying around with no boundary between it and the garden centre area, as well as a rather ugly dusty/muddy car park area that has no dedicated spaces. Despite these let downs the garden centre has a nice small selection of healthy plants on offer and the staff who work there really make it worth a visit, they are very knowledgeable, nothing is too much trouble and they are always ready to stop for a chat and give advice. Coffee shop was pleasant enough, food was great, again staff were lovely and that made for a very enjoyable visit, overall a great little local business, with lovely staff ! I will be back.

Out side seating area is excellent. Cannot fault the food and service and will visit again for the coffee shop. Rating for the nursery would be only one. Looked around the nursery this was very disappointing with a small selection of common plants and poor layout area needs to sorted out before most people would come for the nursery alone.

The fishcake was one of the best I've ever tasted and the peas tasted like fresh garden peas, the like of which I haven't tasted since childhood when my Dad used to grow his own, the chips were also very nice and went well with the stokes tomato sauce. My other half was just as pleased with sausage, egg, chips and beans.Service was very good, the waitress was very helpful and attentive, the cafe was comfortable, well laid out and clean. can't wait to try out the breakfast on our next visit.

If you have never visited the coffee shop and tea room at Tuddenham Nurseries, which is hidden away just a few miles from Barton Mills roundabout at the junction of the A11 and the A1101 then you have missed a real treat. Its a little gem. The staff are lovely, really friendly, and you always get the impression that they care about what they do and actually want to please customers, which is so rare these days. The main meal menu is small, but what they do is simply superb. It would be difficult to beat the lasagne. And the cakes and sponges etc are to die for. This is a real hidden little gem, and great value for money. It think it opened just a couple of years ago but long may it flourish and continue because we love it. Well worth a detour if you are en route and give it a try.

I visited the cafe at Tuddenham Nurseries today 23/4/16 . The staff were friendly and the food was really good. I had asked for Fishcake and salad. The fishcake was cooked well, when opened you could see the flakes of fish and the salad was prepared by those who understand what a salad should be. The salad was washed, dried so not wet, mixed leaves, tomatoes sweet and ripe, chopped sweet peppers and much more; for me this was prepared by a person who actually eats salad . Different dressings were offered. I asked for a pot of tea and it was made with real tea leaves! Which makes all the difference to taste. The only down side is they could have done with an extra pair of hands, but I was not in a hurry. Well done to you, I will return and tell my friends about you.

A group of us visited for afternoon tea on a cold November Sunday afternoon, when trade was, inevitably, quiet. This may have led to our experience: a chocolate cake looked nice and was a generous slice, but was excessively heavy and would have needed heating before eating: a smaller slice at a slightly lower price might have been better, too. A fruit scone with jam and cream tasted a little stale, though the portions of jam and cream were generous. In contrast a frangipane seemed to be better liked. There may be an issue with too many things on offer for the level of trade at this time of year, with several of the items apparently kept in a cooler cabinet. Teas and coffees are reasonably priced, though the coffee came in not very large cups, and one person's bill didn't match the displayed prices.

The gluten free cakes are not only available but tasty and the 'normal' cakes are home made, fresh and yummy!Hubby had a lovely ploughmans lunch which was good quality food. And the lovely peppermint tea made with loose leaves really tastes of peppermint. The coffee is also good quality with a pleasant taste and freshly made. The service is ordered at the till and then served on the table for you. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful. Then onto the plants and goodies, the plants we have bought have established well and there is a good selection. Nothing is too much trouble and the manager is always around to give advice. Being a new set up the goodies are a bit limited, but the basics are there.
