worst fish and chips i've ever had, cold fish and hard horrible chips, curry sauce was nice though. service was quick and friendly.

The worst chips I have ever had. Ended up in the bin. Inedible, hard as nails. The chicken was reasonable but ruined by the chips. I will never go there again.

Absolute pile of mush! The chips were all soggy and limp. Also they were dark brown bit not in a crispy way as you'd expect. The fish was absolutely atrocious! I asked for large which was in any other chippy a small to standard at best, the battery was soggy and when I broke it open half cooked. Very disappointing as it ended up as a very expensive food waste filler. Definitely won't be going there again.

Delivery took over 2 hours , over an hour from estimated time , every time I called was told it had left the shop would be less than 10 mins etc , jacket potato was inedible and the sausage and chicken were both cold , won’t order again

Visited this evening with my Husband and I can honestly say that the food is exceptional. Good value, very generous portions and extremely helpful friendly staff. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Lovely fish supper. Staff friendly and efficient. Seating inside if you want a table meal. On a lovely market square in Crewekerne.

If you are exempt from wearing a mask, I would avoid this place like the plague... I visited here today ordering a small meal to take away.. I clearly had my exemption showing and my disability lanyard... once I ordered my food, I was told to wait outside and they would bring it to me.. even though no other customers were in the shop...as the strong winds were upon us and the start of the rain, after waiting over 5 minutes I got very cold very quickly and I felt discriminated that because I had a disability and didn't have to wear a mask, I had to wait outside in the very cold and very windy weather.. trying to keep close and tucked in by the window, it became too cold for me to wait any longer and I just left.. I am appalled at the fact the way they treated me.. disgusted is not even close.. So I advise to avoid if you are disabled and exempt from wearing a mask.. unless it's a nice hot sunny day....

Good value and very generous portions. The quality of the fish and the batter was excellent. There were far too many chips; you could really share a portion!

Awful meal. Chips cold and had rock salmon which smelt awful and tasted worse. Staff also very miserable. Scampi overcooked and very small portion.

However much you think you're going to eat/need - half it. Excellent fish, we had a cod and a haddock, and great chips. Even the mushy peas are authentically northern. For F&C it's very definitely a good choice.

Terrible!! Overcooked fish that was as thin as a pound coin , the fish was probably swimming in more grease than it was swimming in sea water!!

They cook everything in the same fryers. So not only NOT gluten free but NOT vegetarian either. Plus it's a bit gross even if you eat meat. Who wants scanky chips fried in all that muck.

Fish chips and steak pie were all perfectly cooked and very tasty. Great value for money and absolutely tons of chips! Staff were also very nice. Can highly recommend Tuckers if you’re in the mood for great fast food.

Never been to this chippy before, wont be going there again. The fish was excellent and freshly cooked but oh dear the chips, reheated and inedible and when we added the cost up we had been overcharged. Couldn't go back to personally complain as we had to be somewhere else some miles away and we don't live locally, have tried to phone and explain but no answer. I would give the chips a miss and do your own maths on the what you should be charged.

Friendly staff and prompt service. Large menu, big portions and good value. Being picky, the batter is a tad thick.

You can get a mixed bag there as it's hard keeping fish/chips right for all as in a time window but on the whole it's excellent best £9 spent with curry sauce and cup of tea tried other places when down that way like in west bay but this is the best and sent others there and loved it. They even cooked my Big dover sole caught on Chesil Beach. Recommened if need an easy decent sized munch but need to be hungry as decent amount on plate. Plus will do fish grilled etc if want to wait.just ask

I have enjoyed Tuckers a number of times before and I have always been impressed with takeaway fish and chips - good service, too. However, despite it being quiet this time, the food was disappointing. The chips were over-cooked and probably heated up - almost definitely not freshly-cooked. The fish, although cooked to order, had batter that had been in the fryer too long and was greasy. Actually, it reminded me of a freezer fish portion. I had to wait quite a while and assumed this meant it would be delicious but not so, unfortunately. Not impressed - hopefully this was a one-off as I’d like to return in the future.

We regularly have Fish and Chips from here and they are always very good. Large quantity of fish and chips in each portion. The place is very clean and tidy and the staff efficient.

20 minutes just for some chips, never going back. People served after me got there food before me, when questioned why I had a 20 min Wait I was told the other people would then have complained if d been given my chips, even though they were waiting on other foods. Told it takes at least 6 mins for chips, I could have gad them 3 times over theme!

O lugar é ok. Comi Cod Fish (bacalhau) e batatas. A comida é boa, o preço é baixo e a equipe de trabalho é muuuito gente boa, muito mesmo... Comida rápida e preço baixo, esse é o lugar.

Lovely take away. Very large portions. Comes in a nice sturdy box. The cod was a large size delicious and the chips were a generous portion too. Will certainly visit again.

Had stopped going here as had some soggy meals but last night we had a takeaway fish and chips which were cooked perfectly👌

We have a visited a few times for takeaway, the two young girls serving us on most occasions are more interested in there phones the ENTIRE time than serving customers, the food isn’t great either, and being cooked to order there is always a long wait, it’s even worse when you have to wait twice as the girls messed up the order, a shame, years ago this was a nice takeaway.

Centrally located so ideal for the passing motorist with a taste for some seafood.

Recently refurbished and still the best in Crewkerne. Their chip portion sizes for even the smallest portion will feed two people. You can eat in as well and its well located in the centre of town

Good freshly cooked food and nice staff might have to wait a little when they are busy but worth the wait

We have just had a very good supper at Tuckers. We took our daughter and grandchildren this evening. We were able to book ahead and we all had very good food. Two of us had the cod which was excellent: scampi, chicken nuggets, chicken strips and onion rings were also good. 3 portions of chips were far more than we could eat! service was charming, although we had to wait quite a while for the food because it was cooked to order. The seating was adequate, and our evening was further enhanced because another customer complimented our 11 and 8 year old grandchildren on their good behaviour during our wait!

I've been to tuckers loads of times and every time it's been delicious with good sized portions and value for money .

If your in the area this is the best take away. Everything is cooked to order and is worth a small wait. You can eat in too in a nice clean area with waitress service.

My daughter and I called in here after a wonderful day at West Bay. We got here 10mins before closing but were not rushed at all. Very polite, friendly staff and absolutely amazing fish & chips! Some of the best we've ever tasted!!

This is simply the best fish and chip shop that we have been to for many a year. Genuine and proper Cod. Big portions. Just superb. Can't recommend enough.

When they first opened, Tuckers used to be the best fish and chips that I had tasted. The chips used to be lovely and golden and crispy, obviously freshly cooked.

Regular customer because the fish is always fresh and a good size with nice thin, light and crispy batter. The chips are also always good and crisp. Well wrapped and supplied in a box. Never had soggy food there.

We used this fish and chip shop frequently and I used to sing their praises to everyone - the portions were huge, the fish was beautifully cooked in lovely batter and the chips were crispy and golden - delicious. Their prices were also very reasonable considering the quality and amount.

If the service was as good as the food, then the review would be five stars. First the food. Simply delicious. Well cooked and full of flavour.

We have been here several times on our way to relatives in the area, and have always been happy with quality and quantity. Once, the chips didn't seem quite so fresh, but apart from that we have had no complaints. Service good and prices fair.

We have bought our chips etc from here many times, it's always very busy and the food tastes great. Kids boxes are great too.

Order was cod & chips & pea fritter, the cod was okay, the chips had been cooked in oil which had been badly over -heated, thus an unpleasant burnt taste. P fritter was okay (according to Mrs Rubberneck). Service slow but polite.

Got 2 portions of takeaway fish and chips last friday night after previous 'hit and miss'

This is one of the bestchippies around...all cooked fresh to order. Cant be beaten. Huge portions of chips. You can eat in or take away. Special OAP deals too.

Went for some chips to take away on a Saturday night on the way home from some fireworks, at about 10pm. They were low on chips (not enough for two large chips portions), so had to fry some more. We waited for over 10 minutes for someone to fry the new ones, then as soon as we got home (one street away by car), discovered we'd been given two bags of the cold soggy ones anyway!

The four of us went for a sit down Pensioners Special and it was 'special'. The portions were generous though not too large and well balanced with the fish and chips which were freshly cooked and served by the most friendly young lady who smiled at our 'older person' sense of humour and presented the well cooked food quickly. We weren't rushed and the meal for the 4 adults with an assortment of drinks was not expensive.

I have stopped here several tiimes and always had a good amount and quality of fish and chips. Never had to wait long.

Always greeted warmly by the staff, portions are large, however, each time I have attempted to give them another chance, the food lets them down, fish is always smothered in extremely thick batter, and hardly any fish inside, chips are generous in portion size, but are hard and often thin, not big fat juicy chips, pies ARE good, service can be a little manic, a case of too many people behind the fryers getting under each others feet, I have given an order to one person, had it cooked by three others and given to me by yet another...this place could be fantastic if the quality of the food was as outstanding as the quantity.

Been here for take aways several times, sometimes good and sometimes bad. Tonight for example chips were dry and fish was covered in far too much batter. Message to owners, get consistent, get it right, like you can!!

I popped in at about 4:30pm midweek to try it out. A young girl took my order, took my money and turned to help Chef. There were a few customers sitting down so I did the same and wondered how long the wait would be. About 15 minutes later, the assistant shovelled chips into a box and topped it with a slab of cod. BUT the chips were very dry and could have been reheated. The cod was chewey and might have been overcooked. I had to throw half of it away.

Since Tickets opened the fish a d chips have been superb, could not fault them BUT had a take away last night and it was very disappointing, hopefully it is a blip and they will up their game!

A really excellent chippy, bright clean environment, well cooked food, big portions and truly friendly staff. It is not overly expensive either and it's so nice to find a local fish and chip shop where your presence seems welcome, rather than an interruption. Don't just save it for Friday folks! Get your tucker from Tuckers.

Use it regularly and always enjoy the generous portions and the good quality of the food provided.Staff are usually friendly but it can sometimes be very busy which means a long wait, usually this is when the boss is not in..funny that!

Ate here on Saturday 4th June. Have eaten in before but not for some time. There are always too many chips, so my friend and I shared a portion with our fish, and my nephew had a child's portion - he is 14. All portions of chips were huge still! Fantastic value for money. Friendly staff. Good service. Super food.

When Tuckers opened the fish & chips were excellent and became very busy. My last few visits have been like visiting a different establishment, very poor quality chips and overcooked & very dry fish with hard stodgy batter.

When we arrived on a Friday night it wasn't clear whether they were taking orders as so many people were hanging around the shop, but not queuing. The person behind the till didn't seem keen on serving us.I placed an order I thought it best to ask how long we would need to wait - 5-10 minutes was her reply. 40 minutes later we received our order! Whilst waiting two customers asked for their money back - 40 minutes for a portion of chips - one customer started shouting and swearing.... The manageress gave no apology, just kept smiling insincerely. The team of 4 people running the cafe gave no impression of urgency or concern for the large crowd of customers waiting to be served. I suggest you avoid, although I doubt that's this business can survive - at least not with this atrocious service. Oh and the fish and chips were indifferent.

This place used to be brilliant I always had cod and chips and both were top notch. Had a take away a few weeks ago and the cod was all batter and over cooked batter at that. The service was quick enough but that was all that was good about it. I won't be rushing back that's for sure.

Haven't been in for a few months but Friday night is takeaway night so we thought we would for a change - would think again next time! Arrived at 8.15pm after picking my daughter up from swimming, it looked a little busy but we were there so went in to order. Lots of people waiting but ordered straight away to the slightly miserable assistant but I employ some of those so didn't judge too much. Had a quick look at what was already cooked and ordered 3 jumbo sausages, 1 cod and a large chips - simple....? No, we took a seat and waited, and waited, and waited, along with everyone else. After about 10 minutes wait a guy walked in, ordered cod and chips to eat in, 2 minutes later he was sat munching away - we all looked a each other in disbelief! The next poor guy flipped when he was finally served as he had waited 35 minutes for a portion of chips! 1 guy asked for his money back as he had been waiting 40 minutes for 2 cod and chips and had better things to do than wait any longer. We were eventually served at 8.55pm, when I questioned their system I was told it has to be done in order, I asked about the guy that was sat eating and was told that was different! I wouldn't mind but I was served the sausages and cod that had been there when I walked in! The other lady that served me was polite but matter of fact that she wasn't really bothered or taking any notice of what I was saying. I don't normally like leaving negative feed back but I too work in the catering industry and listen to my customers, without them we wouldn't be in business! It's time to change Tuckers, you probably lost 15 customers last Friday night and that's before they tell their friends!
