Tsiakkos & Charcoal is my favourite place in Maida Vale and probably in London. The food is delicious and authentic. The restaurant is run by the whole family, they are always so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is fab, very lively; the place is always busy, so it is better to book a table in advance, the prices are fair and portions are huge. I would definitely recommend it to anyone 🤩😋

Unpretentious family joint. Wines and cocktails were excellent . Amazing Taramasalata. This is the perfect example of simple done well.

Had my birthday dinner here over the weekend and it was amazing. We had the mezze menu and all the food was delicious and portion sizes were very generous. Insanely good value too. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating - it felt like being in someone's home. Can't wait to go back!

Had dinner with a large group (18), and the communication from the start was excellent. They were so efficient and managed to accommodate our group on a busy Saturday night with very last-minute notice. The service was very friendly and welcoming, not pushy, considering the size of our group. We opted for the Meze menu, and the grilled meats were delightfully juicy. The overall food quality was absolutely amazing and reasonably priced for London dining, with very generous portions. Thanks to Chase, who made us feel very welcome. The only thing I'd say is the entrance is kind of hidden, not clearly visible, and difficult to spot, so you may miss it. However, I would definitely go back!"

Great Greek spot in West London lovely family run restaurant with home style cooking. I highly recommend having the mezze so you can get the authentic long dinner experience. The speakeasy atmosphere is wonderful, you feel like you’re eating in a secret spot only a few people know about.

Tsiakkos & Charcoal is the absolute best. It is a hidden neighborhood gem with amazing authentic food and a perfect combination of fun & cosy. George and the rest of the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We recently rented out the back garden for a private birthday party and couldn't have asked for a better time. George was so communicative through planning the entire thing and willing to be flexible to our groups needs. Thank you Tsiakkos! Can't wait to return

Everything was perfect -- service, food, wine (went with the suggested bottle of Papagiannakos Erythros (red) over the one we originally chose). My husband had the Kleftico (lamb). It was flavorful and the meat fell off the bone. It was hopping busy, yet the staff managed to be very attentive. They even remembered our names throughout the evening, wow!

Delicious Greek food, probably one of the best in London, and great staff that will make you feel at home. I highly recommend the lamb and the mezze.

It's noisy and cramped. The service is a little hit and miss. I really enjoyed the food and will be going back. The meze is really significant, with different mains coming at different times (this threw me as a newbie to the venue), but I left having over eaten on some really lovely food.

There are a lot of locals who do not want to share this Fantastic Greek restaurant around the corner…just in case they can’t get in… they might have to queue or find it’s fully booked…come early you’ll find young lovers on their first date, come late and the taxis are having a late snack… the arty types the captains of industry all know where to eat a good Greek meal…. And so do I.. 5 stars any day .. Jbx

Good place and marvelous dinner

Been recommended Tsiakkos and Charcoal for a while now from a few friends so it was about time I headed down there! First of all the greeting by our host for the evening Elisard was absolutely fantastic. Extremely hospitable young man making sure that all of the guests were greeted with a very warm welcome! The food was absolutely spot on. We ordered a few Meze dishes to start. The Halloumi and Hummus are a must!! Moving on to the mains and the Moussaka and Kleftico went down an absolute treat! Extremely generous sized portions and something we will be heading back for again!! 10000% a restaurant you need to get ticked off your list in London! Can't wait to return!!

5 starts to T&C hands down. Food was delicious, still dreaming about the pork lamb shoulder and lamb on the bone. Melted in your mouth and so full of flavour! Service was superb, Adam made us laugh all night long and was accommodating to find us a table at the last minute (highly recommend reserving in advance). Only regret is not having been able to eat more. Strongly recommend and can't wait to go back. Atmosphere 100% too!

Come Hungry!!! The BEST Greek food either side of the Atlantic! We came with a group of 21 Student for a group of 24 total!! They not only accommodated everyone’s diet requirements but brought plate after plate of AMAZING Greek delicacies!!! Appetizers and Entrees alike were simply DELICIOUS!!! This restaurant cooks with love and heart and soul! We will definitely be back!!!♥️💖♥️

I've been fairly regular here for many years now, awesome lil local restaurant, always busy & buzzing, so if you want a quiet corner to chat this probably isn't for you, excellent food, great service and good value. Highly recommend the mixed mezze platter to try a bit of everything!

Wonderful and passionate cooking. Don't expect to get the trappings of the London restaurant industry. Do expect to be overwhelmed by a genuine passion for food and welcomes. You will want to tip the waiters here and you need to have cash for that. They can't take a service charge or tip on your card for some reason.

Smoky and too loud. Food was very mediocre, service rushed m, needed to remind waiting staff about orders and overall not a very good experience. Won’t be returning.

Stökigt, stimmigt, fullsatt och trång miljö, just det är en stor del av nöjet att besöket här. Vi beställde meze och maten kom in i rask takt. Allt det klassiska från det grekiska köket fanns med och var utomordentligt gott. Lammet var bland det nästa någonsin var så extremt mört så det ramlade isär. Toppen bra personal bra service. Pyttelitet kök i lokalen gör att det är ganska mycket matos om man får sitta inne dock då är det en atmosfär som hör att det ”ingår” Kan varmt rekomenderas om du vill ha grekisk mat.

I did not know about this restaurant until a friend decided to order from there. It was a real discovery! The food is delicious! I highly recommend the pulled pork! I then went there with the same friends to eat but would recommend taking away.

The service was friendly in this casual, family-run restaurant. The back terrace was very noisy, so we moved to the front (outside), which was quieter. There are obviously some friends/family who pop in for a smoke/chat and sit on chairs in the street. There's nothing wrong with that, although it feels like that you're in the middle of someone else's conversation when things are being shouted from and around the front door of the restaurant. The food was slightly disappointing, particularly for the price-point. The slow-cooked pork was too sweet and the moussaka underseasoned. The mains ordered were a fair size but the food looked like it had been pre-prepared in bulk and then portioned up from a big container. It wasn't particularly hot, which is a bit of a shame. It's nice to see a neighbourhood restaurant doing well, but I don't think I'll be back.

I'm really disappointed with my meal at Tsiakkos & Charcoal when I dined here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I am a vegetarian, so my friend had called up prior to our visit to ensure they would be veggie options for the main. She was told that there will be a few options for which your friend (me) can pick from! Although at dinner, no options were provided for my main and I was served with a plate of grilled veggies! The main was not satisfying to say the least - I would consider that more of a side dish or something to accompany your main. To be served as a main was not fair, I'd expect a veggie moussaka or something of the sort! I did not want to make a fuss as I was with a group of friends (rest of them ate meat). But as a veggie, it was very poor and expensive for what I paid :(

Went there with 2 of my friends. Honestly the best greek food I have ever had. Definitely in my Top 5 Restaurants worldwide. Staff was welcoming and vibrant. Food delicious. Atmosphere was amazing. 10/10 would go there everyday.

Alright where do I start… firstly the meat was slow cooked very well however nothing here was actually of Greek cuisine especially the kleftiko with “sweet rice” the pitta bread was supermarket bought. The burnt pork had no crackling. For the price you pay it is not worth it and this is coming from a Greek. Quite disappointing and then to be told we only had 1 and a half hours to eat and we weren’t informed about this a week prior.

Great food, service and prices!

We had to book a table which was available on our arrival. Restaurant very noisy but quieter in the gazebo-type structure out back, although still full. Menu is refreshingly short but we couldn't decide as everything looked good, so we opted for the meze. First was some great homemade hummus, tzatziki, and taramasalata that I could have eaten a tub of, all served with pitta, and a potato and beetroot dish dressed with olive oil and lemon juice. Then some grilled halloumi. Then a while grilled seabass. And a large Greek salad. Then some chicken souvlaki. Then lamb kleftiko on the bone. Then slow burnt pork. A LOT of food, but all very good. The taramasalata, kleftiko, and slow burnt pork were particular highlights and are what I would have if we return. You can take away whatever you don't eat - meze for two would easily feed three hungry people, and quite probably 4, so you're essentially getting two meals to have at home. At 28 quid per person it's not the cheapest but also not excessive considering the quality, you get to try everything, and you won't be hungry afterwards, and remember this is London. The other menu items individually are cheaper, so on your first visit have the meze, decide your favourites, and have them next time. Oh, and the service is outstanding. Definitely pay a visit for an outstanding time, but book in advance.

Great food and friendly service

We visited London for the weekend with our children out apartment was just across the road so we popped in for a drink and sat outside with the children, the staff couldn’t have done anymore for us so friendly and offered the children a bowl of rice and drinks, we loved it so much we went in for food the following night and wow! The best food I’ve ever tasted with yet again the friendliest staff I felt so at home and can’t wait to come and visit again, highly recommend!

Had the meze for 5. Dips were rustic and tasty. Souvlaki tender and charred. Halloumi delicious with the lemon and olive oil. However, would prefer many small plates to share rather than a few main courses. Strange to share moussaka, kleftico etc in a meze. Disappointed by the meze fish being salmon rather than a whole white fish such as seabass/bream. Cold outdoor seating area with no heating above our table

The food is excellent. Simple Greek food, well made and tasty. The service was slow but it was explained that a member of staff was late. The table next to us were served before us, despite sitting after us. However, once served we were happy with the food but extra peppers orders did not arrive. We were ignored for at least twenty minutes. My husband complained to the young guy serving us who dealt with it really well. However, a woman on the table next to us came over, called my husband a COMPLETE W****R and said that we should never come back to the restaurant. She then chatted to the owner who was in the table behind us who seemed not to mind that diners were being sworn at. It seems very cliquey. Won’t go back.

About as quintessentially West London as you can get. Perfect for a big group meal, the atmosphere in here is one of the best in London, the service is 10/10 warm and the food is the best Greek food I’ve eaten in London. Great spot.

I went here last night for a friend's birthday party. It was one of the best meals that I have ever eaten and I can't wait to take family there. As you walk in, the smell of the BBQ hits your nose and the place doesn't disappoint from there. We had a table In the back area which is surrounded by fairy lights and is very romantic. They were also playing disco and barry white which was timeless and lovely. A few of us had the set menu which gave us a range of meats, starters and sides such as beetroot and potato salad. Everything was delicious and flavourful. The chicken souvlaki was juicy and cooked perfectly. I could go on but I am going to return and check in with myself at another time to check that it really fits the emotional feeling I have. P.S. They were very accomodating for a birthday party as we brought our own deserts and they provided all we needed to enjoy said desert. P.P.S. The family that runs the place and all the other people who work there were so kind and you could feel the love and closeness in the place.

One of the best Greek/Cypriot restaurants in London! The food is delicious, amazing traditional Greek food, relaxing atmosphere and great beer & wine selection! The menu is simple and contains a good selection such as lamb kleftiko, pork souvlaki, grilled fish etc! We tried the mezze that had a selection of everything and everything was amazing! Highly recommended!

If you’re looking for a nice local like restaurant, without any glitz and fuss, where you feel welcome and comfortable… this is your place! The taramasalata was so good I couldn’t stop eating it. I would definitely travel and cross the city to eat it again. Houmous was was very good as well. Pork souvlaki was a little dry but the slow burnt Pork was nice and juicy. The rice serves with the meats was very flavourful. You really feel that you’re eating in someone’s kitchen and it is nice to still find this kind of simplicity in London. Will definitely go back and get more of that magical taramasalata! Prices are very reasonable.

Tsiakkos & Charcoal Greek restaurant in London is a charming, bustling yet homely restaurant located in an unassuming terraced house on an otherwise quiet street. Reservations are essential as the restaurant has acquired almost mythical status, the likes of Harry and Megan having dined there (supposedly). The kitchen is almost on top of the tables, with the scent (and smoke!) of cooking flooding the small dining area. The service is friendly and attentive. The menu is limited which makes choosing quite straightforward. The food is satisfyingly delicious and very generously portioned. My only criticism is that it does not really resemble anything I've encountered in Greece or Cyprus. The pork I tried was unexpectedly sweet and the accompanying rice seemingly prepared with cinnamon and sugar. Tasty to be sure, but I was not really transported to the Mediterranean.

Beautiful old school Greek food never let's me down

Very possibly the greatest restaurant on earth. Now no indication at all that it’s a restaurant from outside and watch out re filling yourself up with pitta and the superb holy trio of dips (home made every day) but the consistent quality of authentic and flavoursome delights never fail to please and it is all overseen by the leviathon Xen; one of the kindest, good hearted and very best blokes I know.

Myself and my husband went there for dinner tonight. We had the halloumi and kleftiko which was delicious. Nice quaint little place family run and friendly. We will definitely be back.
