We have ordered the Greek stile baby lamb ( klifton) for one person , we ordered two orders , and unfortunately the lamb size is never baby lamb the piece size and meet color is not for baby lamb. I have spoken to restaurant staff and informed that I will genuinely provide our honest and fair feedback. That’s why I have 3 out of 5 for this experience. Never know you may find baby lamb during your visit but during ours we weren’t fortunate to have

Fantastic cuisine, pleasant music and good service

Lovely and very reasonable restaurant. We enjoyed a large Christmas get together at Halepi and the atmosphere was buzzing with plenty of food and drink on offer. We’ll be back next Christmas!

Great food.. Not up to the reputation but very good.. I chicken soup was off. The appetizers platter was so so. Greek salad is amazing ans refreshing. Lamb chops were very delicious but a bit over grilled. Kalefticon was good expected it more tender. The galaktpbouriko was average. The host Tina is great and very welcoming.. The waiters were all very friendly.. The place was warm and a bit over crowded. Make reservation ahead. The prices are reasonable

We ordered the thigh with rice and chickpeas. The meat was delicious. The hummus was okay. It is recommended to book in advance. The price was once high. The thigh was 85 pounds. We paid approximately 110 pounds.

I’m a red meat lover, this is my favorite restaurant in town.

Not a traditional Greek Cypriot restaurant, staff are not attentive, forget you and don't deal with your requests. Kept asking for things we wanted but never arrived. The meat is very salty, the sheftalia are not Cypriot style but also very salty. The owner promotes traditional Cyprus restaurant its more middle eastern and caters for that . Way over priced for the quality of food. Will not revisit dont rely on social media for its selling point it far from the content ....

This evening, four of us went out for dinner and ordered two small 200ml bottles of Plomari Ouzo to accompany our meal. At the end of the night, the bill presented to us by the restaurant charged an unbelievable £40 per 200ml bottle - in total which £80 just for 400ml Ouzo. When we asked them to double-check, the male waiter outright scolded us. Not only did they refuse to adjust the bill, but they didn’t even offer a discount. When we asked about the menu price, they claimed it wasn’t listed on the menu. Avoid this place at all costs! It seems like they have some hidden prices they apply specifically to tourists. We are locals of Bayswater, and having our first experience here turn out so poorly deeply upset and disappointed us. This is a disrespectful establishment that we won’t be returning to. We saw no trace of the famed Greek hospitality—on the contrary, it was the opposite. I never imagined I could be ripped off like this so close to home in London. Do not go there!

We were extremely disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. Our group of four was charged an unreasonably high price (40 pounds) for a 200ml ouzo, which was not in line with typical pricing. When we raised our concerns about the cost, the staff responded in a dismissive and disrespectful manner. This lack of professionalism and transparency left a bad impression. We expected better service and fair pricing and will not be returning. Also, I was extremely shocked by the state of the restroom during my visit. It was shockingly dirty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in some time. A clean and well-maintained restroom is a basic expectation in any restaurant, and this was far below standard. It left a very negative impression and made me question the overall hygiene of the establishment. This needs immediate attention!!

I recently visited Halepi, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Hygiene Issues: Both the restroom and the tables were not properly cleaned. The lack of cleanliness was noticeable and concerning. Poor Service: The staff took dishes away without asking if we were finished. Additionally, some items on the bill weren’t clearly priced on the menu, leading to an overcharge. When we raised this issue, the staff's attitude became unprofessional and disrespectful. Overpriced and Low-Quality Food: The lamb leg, priced at £85, was mostly fat and bone, with very little meat. The rice served alongside was soggy and clearly not freshly cooked. Given these issues, I can't recommend this restaurant, especially at these price points. I hope the management addresses these concerns for future customers.

Halepi, a Greek restaurant in cosy, family-run taverna style. The restaurant goes back to 1966 and yet managed to maintain its standard and quality. I can personally vouch for its consistency over the years, having visited it in the 90s and again recently. The quality of their food remains impeccable. The restaurant is famous for its lamb shoulder which has be pre-ordered. The restaurant is tiny and tables are next to each other, but if you are looking for delicious food and friendly service, then this is the place to be. However, when I posted the photos on Instagram, someone noted that there is a hair and the chocolate cake.

Disappointing! And Overrated!!! Very narrow environment, narrow tables, small portions of food(attached the mix kebabs portion and £26), very dirty/awful toilets and expensive.

Hands down best meal of my life, I don’t even know how to describe this amazing experience. We asked for the meat mezze and I am writing this review as we eat because it is THAT good. Amazing service, warm people, beautiful decor. We will come back every month from now on, no doubt.

After seeing this restaurant on social media, it looked very promising indeed... 8/10. Simple ingredients, made with love, however...it was a little more salty than we had expected. Being mindful of culture and style of cuisine, we were open minded and can see why this restaurant would be a hit with the immediate locals, in that the restaurant serves food which cater for the middle eastern residents which culturally prefer very strong flavours - salt in particular... The milk-fed lamb was obviously the star of the show, beautifully cooked but again very salty, leaving myself and partner very thirsty afterwards and with a very irritated tongue! x2 small starters and a shoulder of lamb + 2drinks came in around at £136+ a little dear than we had expected but you only need to look at the postcode, but given the area and hype its had with social media I guess it could charge whatever they wanted... service was a mix of friendly and slight pretentiousness...we felt very rushed by the waitering staff, which was a little disappointing, given I was super excited to visit and had travelled 4 hours to get here initially. The best? probably not, but the whole experience lends itself to be a traditional home style Greek cooking... I would recommend going, but its not a WOW factor from me...or as it is portrayed on social media...

I had a nice dinner with my friends on 7th May 2024. The food was great. However, when I am sorting out my 2024 expense today, I found that I was triple charged with my contactless card. It might be a mistake. But I do feel sorry for that. Maybe the staff can be more careful while taking payment next time.

Really nice and authentic restaurant. The food was 10/10 and quite reasonable priced. Our meal came to £100 which included two starters. 2 mains and a bottle of wine. The only downside is if you sit near the fire there is an awful draft that’s comes through the door.

The food is very, very delicious and delicious, but I have a comment on hygiene, as the worker who served us the food covered her nose several times and brought us the bread and covered it with her hand to make sure it was hot. This movement is very disgusting and made me feel disgusted with the food. They also require a mandatory £1 tablecloth cover charge and do not change it after each customer. When I asked to cancel the service fee, the employee told me that he could not and brought the manager to discuss it

I had a baby lamb, with rice and finished with lovely deserts. It was phenomenal, so delicious, the service is lovely. Excellent. Especially because it always runs full house but they still have a second to smile I'll back there.

Authentic Greek Cypriot taverna. Food was great, same for service and atmosphere. Feels like you are in a traditional village in Greece but you are in Central London. Probably the biggest giant prawns I've ever had.

The place is ok, but could be much more tasty compared to the greek food I had in Greece. The seftaali kebab/kofte is not the real one but very tasty. Squit on thr grill was verh tasty. Hummus is ok not a special taste. Pidas could be warm. But saganaki is strongly recommended. Tables and chairs are a bit uncomfortable as well as the place is a bit claustrophobic…

Charming old school, family run restaurant. A rare find in a world of pret and ivy chains… sadly however after going 5+ times the food and service is now poor. Will not return.

We were very excited to try this restaurant as we heard of its history , we ordered the octopus salad which had a hair on the plate and the tomato ,feta,red onion salad , the tomatoes were massive and had the green stem still attached .we also ordered the Shaftalya and it tasted extremely salty and it's was a Kofta so misleading on the menu, we also ordered lamb kebab and was very fatty and there was a long black hair in my dish and when I advised the waitress she said oh that is not my hair and took the hair with her and smiled and walked off , we ordered rice it was old and dry and the chips we ordered were soo oily and soggy , the food was a total disappointment and it felt that we were being rushed and it's so disorganised and was not a pleasant experience and the prices were high for the quality of the food .We will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant.

i would like to say to the management at the restaurant i found hair on both of my dishes the shaftalya was just kofta and very salty the lamb shish had a lot of fat on it the rice was dry and old and the chips very oily and the tomatos in the salad was huge and still had its green stem on ( tomato,feta and red onion salad ) and i pointed out the large black hair on my dish the elderly greek lady took it out of my dish and said oh that's not my hair and left me to it , I will not be a returning customer and will not recommend it at all

We ate here on our visit to London because the reviews sounded good and it looked very good from the outside. I can't understand the good reviews. The service was totally unfriendly, the food didn't taste good and I've never had such a carelessly prepared meal in my life. The prices are simply far too expensive… absolutely not recommended

I had been five years ago and I really wanted to go back, it was worth the wait. Although the space is small and always full, the service is super fast and the flavor is spectacular. Mariah took excellent care of us. Super recommended. If you call by phone you are more likely to get a table

Nice restaurant for meat lovers

Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the food here. I was looking forward to trying it out but was really let down. Firstly, I'm of Greek Cypriot origin so I know my Cypriot cuisine. The place is quaint and was packed .....but we were probably ly the only Greek Cypriot customers there. That itself should have told be what to expect. No disrespect to the non Cypriot customers but they'll accept what they're given because they don't know what to expect. We had the Meze. It satred with the usual cold dips followed by 1 Dolmada each,a piece of halloumi each, a small plate of Kalamari and a prawn each. So,we wait for the rest of the hot starters....the meatballs, the Greek sausage, other hot starters we'd usually be served at most other Greek restaurants. We wait and we wait but nothing. Along came the main meat part. A small dish containing a couple of chicken wings, some chicken and pork souvlaki and some kofte. If they were supposed to be Cypriot meatballs then they were nothing like it. That was it.....no fruit to follow...nothing. Very small, bland meze. NOT for us Cypriots I'm afraid. If this place was in North London I can tell you not many of our community would go there. May we should have ordered a manin dish as opposed to the meze. I can't comment on the other food but the mezewas NOT a mezeas it should be. If you're reading this and you're a Greek Cypriot, don't expect too much if you go to this place. In a nut shell, this is more of a tourist place, certainly not for anyone used to Greek Cypriot restaurants. Very disappointed indeed!

One of the best greek places in town. Amazing atmosphere but slightly on the higher end of prices. The food was amazing especially the lamb shoulder and the dessert. Thought the calamari could be improved. Overall good recommendation

Sin embargo, no estábamos preparados para el ambiente lleno de gente y el constante golpe en nuestros asientos por el personal y otros clientes. La comida era buena pero cara para la calidad que sentimos. Lamentablemente, debido a las condiciones de hacinamiento, no pudimos salir de allí lo suficientemente rápido.

We booked this restaurant and arrived on time. The waiting area was so packed that we couldn't talk to the reception. By the time it was our turn, the owner said they give out the tables after holding for 10 minutes. We ended up waiting and leaving.

Unfortunately, not a good experience. For the high prices, we expected more – not even a welcome Ouzo was served, which is standard in Greek restaurants. After just one hour, the bill was placed on our table without warning, even though we wanted to order more. This came across as very rude and completely ruined the evening. Definitely not recommended if you value hospitality.

The Food was fine, service also. Though booking a table for 12.30 on a cold day is not a good idear, the place was cold.

A lot of noise and way too busy, the tables are too close to each other, little atmosphere, the prices on the menu in the restaurant are much higher than on the website.

The lamb was amazing! Some of the starters were just ok. The atmosphere was not great as everything was so narrow you couldn't stay comfortable for long.

The best restaurant experience that I can remember in London. The service was EXEMPLARY. The team could not have done more in making myself, and my family feel at home and brought the highest levels of great energy. It was my birthday and it was one of the best birthday meals I have had that I can recall. Kosta (the owner and head chef) was very friendly, approaching our table and chatting with us making us feel very welcome and warm. The waiter we had (I wish I had his name!) was amazing! We had an ice cream cake and Tina and him did their utmost to cut it while frozen, showing great effort and customer service. I honestly couldn't have had a better time at a restaurant. The venue itself is cosy, intimate and a family feel. I love this, and people complaining about this should understand that it's part of the appeal, making Halepi unique. The food was fantastic, we opted for both seafood and meat meze's with the hummus, the chicken thighs, the prawns and the Greek salad being the highlights. I cannot wait to come back again with my family, and friends in the future. Kudos to you all for having us and creating what was a very memorable birthday dinner!

We recently celebrated my son’s birthday at this amazing Greek restaurant, and I cannot say enough good things about it. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with warmth and top-notch service. The food was absolutely delicious—authentic Greek flavours that were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The service was beyond exceptional. The staff went out of their way to make our evening special, with everyone being attentive and friendly. A special mention to Tina, who went above and beyond by storing our birthday cake in the restaurant’s freezer from Friday until we needed it on Tuesday! Her kindness and attention to detail really stood out, and we couldn’t be more grateful. The restaurant has been around since 1966, and it’s easy to see why. The owner clearly cares about both his guests and the quality of the experience. It felt like we were part of something truly special. If you’re looking for incredible food, warm hospitality, and a memorable experience, I highly recommend this gem. We will absolutely be back!!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very simple, but the behavior of the staff is bad. We ordered grilled meat, which was less than normal, and steak and salad. What I loved in the restaurant is a picture of our king, may God protect him 😍💚

Long waiting times obviously but the guys working there should know that this place is now at top of where they are and they should be more patient and humble even more. Yes it’s good food atmosphere but final touches are the most memorable ones.

Would highly recommend this restaurant, a lovely family run authentic place for delicious food, namely the lamb! We also had the mixed starter which was a great selection of dips, salads and bread. The lamb was the main star of the show, juicy and tender. We had to wait 10 mins or so for our table but the head waitress was very apologetic and she even gave us baklava to make up for it. Overall a lovely experience with delicious food!

Was very disappointed with the food. Food was bad the restaurant chicken was very very overcooked taste very dry the potato was burnt and taste horrible ,food quality was bad as f. service was poor,I still have full glass for wine and didn’t ask for the bill then they give me the bill ask me to pay ,can see they try to make people eat and pay then go home so they can make more table. Even though we requested, they did not remove the service charge from the bill, they also added a very ridiculous fee called cover price and brought the bill to the table on hand-written paper. Quality, history and atmosphere in one place

Made a reservation for 1800 but arrived early and we were easily accommodated. Whilst the food here isn’t cheap it is cooked perfectly and of a high quality. The Lamb is delicious!

Ok the food is great, beautifully cooked fish meze par excellence. Starters were good, desert was exceptional. Try the tiramisu and baklava! Well done chef. The service was just about ok but given it was packed tight it was never going to be more so and could easily have been less so. The ambience is great if you’re a fan of 70s decor and sitting on top of other diners… if you care more about amazing food than sitting in a fancy place this is definitely for you. If you want both, give this a miss. As for me and my family we’ll be back! AND so, we went back to enjoy some more of the above... The waiting staff are great, so have upped rating to 4. However, the meze was a big disappointment - the lobster was gone along with the giant prawns, the calamari were tough rubber bands, added was rubbery octopus, the monk fish was dry and overcooked and the scallops (an added 4x£10 each) were raw inside and burnt on top, rest of the dish was fine but not a patch on first visit. The tiramisu was fantastic but the baklava was dry and uninspiring. What a waste of time and almost £300 for 2 (inc a nice bottle of wine). So, based on the first visit would be a regular, based on the last visit, never again. Have reduced 5 start review to 3 now based on 2 visits. Will consider a third visit to decide... and will update you!

Incredible food, make a reservation to avoid disappointment since this is a very popular place and fills up quick

I’ve been coming to Halepi since 2015, and possibly earlier when I was a kid! As it has reached more instagram and tik-tok fame as of late, I can say that it hasn’t made it change in its quality taste and value since! There are dishes and food that fits all budget. Its almost always full and you need a booking afew hours before or a day before. If you’re looking for a tasty quick meal you can also request off-menu items like souvlaki pitta or a cypriot soup -avgolemoni (dont tell them i told you). Theres the Halepi Cafe next door also that offers similar tasty small plates in a more relaxed setting if its during a busy lunch.

I read the great Google reviews as well as the furore on social media about this place. So I decided to take my mum for her birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was really poor and on that basis I wouldn’t recommend. The staff were grumpy, the service was slow and unbothered, and the food was really overpriced for what it was. We paid over £80 which was too much for what we had and we left less than full. In terms of the food, my chicken souvla was over cooked and the food generally lacked flavour and richness. My mother’s main was Doulmades and she only got served 5 pieces and upon complaining they brought over 2 extra pieces. The Greek salad was the best of what we ordered. good but it’s a salad at the end of the day and not even they could get that wrong. I’m rarely baffled by a restaurant’s reviews to this extent. I wouldn’t revisit even if it were on my doorstep.

Most fantastic lamb I've tried in London! Will definitely be back! Not the easiest environment to bring babies to though. The restaurant only had one high chair and no space for prams.

The combination of service food and atmosphere makes this place magic. Although I don't live anywhere near Halepi I do make the effort to visit from time to time either with my kids. Mothersday or on my own. It's always great. It's a great place to visit. Recommend all the starters and seafood platter. Haven't tried lamb yet but heard wonderful things about milk fed lamb.

It's definitely one of the best Greek restaurants I've been to. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was nice with welcoming staff. I will definitely go back again and again.
