Truth Lounge in Barnet

Booked on Groupon. Turned up to find restaurant boarded up and no longer open. Tried to call but number of restaurant was pest control company. Was called truth lounge but was a lie!

Waited over an hour after being seated and didn't even get a drink. Waiters that we dealt with were either unexperienced or extremely rude. After an hour and a half still no food had come. We literally had to go to front of house to demand drinks, which were returned because the cocktails were poorly made. Ended up leaving the lounge as it was a friends birthday but overall everything was extremely poor, and staff were unapologetic.

Only two members of staff stood put, the big guy who ensure we got a decent seat as well as made sure we were comfortable and attended to. Also tje short waitress who looked after us while we waited for a long time for our food to come out. Ordered 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 sides. All of which arrived at different times which meant i had to eat my side 20 mins before my main and had my starter after my mains. The food was disappointing after such a wait, the grilled prawns were over cooked and burnt on the outside. The jerk chicken was dry and burnt on the outside, meaning much of it was wasted. Price wise, for the location of this restaurant the prices were deer, would accept these prices if there was something to rave about. The cocktails drank were decent, although due to the issues with food and long wait for them, i could not enjoy them properly. Would only attend for a quick drink/ bite when meeting friends atvthe back for shisha. Not a place to enjoy a meal/ date night.

Food was disgusting, plantain like cardboard, chicken dry and burnt and the worst sweet potato chips I've ever tasted. My birthday ruined, the place was freezing cold with people walking in and out and wearing tracksuits, even though their website states smart casual, no track suits. We decided to leave and take the awful food with us.

The food was great and the service was amazing as well as the atmosphere. The waiters elson and Aj were great! Food was 10/10. Highly recommended

Went to Truth's 1st birthday party. Paid £33 which is an high amount just to receive no food. Rude Staff. When I asked for straws the waiter threw them on the table and walked off. My friends and I had to keep asking the staff when we'd receive our food. After over an hour of waiting, all of my friends received their food and I did not. Had to tell multiple staff that I still hadn't received my food, only for one of them to laugh and say 'Rah I think the food is done you know'. Waited again and had to tell more staff and eventually on came over and I was partially refunded. Was expecting a much better service for £33. Didn't even stay for the party. Highly disorganised and poor service overall. I will not be returning. I would give zero stars if I could.

Good vibes and good shisha. Would recommend to book in advance but you’ll have a good time. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back again.

First of all, we made a booking for 10pm and the ‘manager’ lied and told us it was at 10:15pm as our table was not ready. If you don’t book a table, don’t even bother turning up. We were made to sit and wait at a dirty table until our table for shisha was ready. Once we were seated at our table outside, we waited for 15 minutes to be served and that was after I called the waiter over. She then didn’t know what a Koppaberg was, but it was on the menu. Waited for a further 15 minutes for two Koppabergs and the shisha to come out. After the match had finished on the projector, the projector was switched off & that was it nothing else was shown. Usually at a shisha place, the waiters change your coal every so often, even without asking. However, in the two hours we were there our goal was changed only once and that was after I had asked for it to be changed. Not to mention when you want to pay its cash only, but there’s no sign to say cash only and you’re sent over the road to the petrol station to take out cash. Let’s move onto service charge... £8+ for service change! OUTRAGEOUS! Usually service charge is 10%. Our bill came up to £41 including £8 service charge so really our bill should of been £33 so 10% would be £3 .... Very concerning that we paid £8 for crap service! The picture shows the sink in the toilet! There was no soap in there and no sanitiser either. Overall, a terrible experience and I will never be returning!

Me and my partner went for lunch and we booked a table for the first reservation. There is no food service outside, only drinks and shisha can be served (understandable as seats are sofas and designed for smoking and drinking area only). We waited outside, we had some nice grilled prawns and chicken wings as starter, salmon and battered prawns with rice on pineapple. Strawberry Daiquiri was half frozen as we asked for it :) Amazing new drink called Henny ;) Service was very good but needed to consider first hour after opening! Will be coming back for dinner time as the venue looks amazing for a night dinner with some enjoyable R&B music :)

The vibe was chilled out with good music and staff were very helpful. Fried Chicken wings were great. The Burger was tasty. Reasonably priced. The Truth cocktail with 5 shots was nice, I managed two glasses a bit pricey but very nice.

Truth was a fantastic experience; very welcoming and food was amazing. In Prime location highly recommend people to try this new spot

Went there on a Saturday night, they had delicious food, good cocktails and it has a great vibe in the Shisha lounge section.
