The Hendon in Barnet

Just had a lovely meal at the Hendon pub. Staff were quick and very friendly. The food and drinks are very good for the price. Lovely pub and great atmosphere.

Excellent good value food with friendly helpful staff. A big thank you to the Irish bartender working at the time who helped show us how to use taxi app bolt to get my daughter and her friend to a concert in the O2 forum. Thank you again would recommend x

Nice food but the pub itself was filthy and tired looking. The seats had stains all over them and don't look like they've ever been cleaned. The window ledge behind my table had dirty tissues left and there was dust and grime all over it. The toilets had a sewage smell coming from before I even opened the door also which was very offputting. The bar staff looked bored and were not very helpful. We asked for highchairs for our children and were told there were none which was surprising as there is a kids menu so not sure why there is a kids menu but no facilities for kids. Won't be visiting again.

The food was good but frozen roasties and veg on a roast dinner was a bit disappointing. However the food was well cooked and tasted good. Servers were pleasant and welcoming. Food was very reasonably priced. However, I’ve never been to the area before and precooked this as close to hotel I was staying in. Entrance is very unwelcoming and dirty and could do with a good brush outside and maybe a kick of paint on doors

I cannot say enough good things about this pub. We felt so welcome and had a great evening there. The manager clearly leads by example and all of the staff are amazing. If you want to have a great night out I highly recommend this place.

Just the best place to watch football in Hendon. Ed is a wonderful host and his staff Paul, Laura Nancy to name a few are great. Food is good particularly the burgers. Just a great all round local pub

Already reviewed on Aug 2020, but there’s been some improvements! Recently they updated the food menu and added a real ale (Ice Breaker pale ale) on tap. New menu is slightly pricier but looks exciting and tastes great. Also outside area has been expanded, which is very nice if the sun is shining. Very family friendly pub with “pick & mix” menu for children, and even a few items for babies.

Stayed nearby and had a couple of drinks one night and some foid the following night. Pleasant well cooked meals, sensible money too. Very friendly service from the bar guy with long hair and beard - don't know his name but he's a top guy. Nice pub and would go again if i was in town.

Went for a catch up with a friend after a long time. The outside does not do the place justice and the inside is much better than expected. The service was brilliant and really friendly. The atmosphere was lively but not overbearing. Good quality food, served quickly. Definitely would recommend!

This 10 bedroom boutique hotel really is a hidden gem. We had an exec room B & B (Continental only) and loved it. Very friendly staff. Of course - parking - its free! Free wifi. etc etc Up to date bathroom. I couldn't fault it....

Es una pena que este pub y restaurante local que he estado visitando durante años se haya deteriorado hasta tal punto. El exterior está en mal estado, sucio y en pedazos. Las ventanas están sucias. En el último año he visitado mucho este pub. Al menos dos veces a la semana nos reunimos en este lugar con amigos y nos encanta. El personal siempre ha sido muy cortés con nosotros y tienen una gran variedad de bebidas. Los precios no son altos en absoluto. Un par de veces probé la cocina y realmente estuve más que satisfecho. Además, no soy un gran fanático de los deportes, pero en el club transmiten muchos eventos deportivos en vivo y es completamente gratis. Definitivamente recomiendo este pub a todos! Te veo pronto.

Do NOT order food. The standard has dropped significantly. You'll be waiting at least 45mins to an hour for food to arrive, and that's not even on a busy day. The food quality is poor, I normally get the burger with chips which came greasy, no salad and a few chips on the side which were cold. My friend got the breakfast and it was very oily and on top of that we had to go searching for our own cutlery!

Mis colegas y yo visitamos Hendon Wed el 30 de enero aproximadamente a las 8 pm. Encontramos una mesa y elegimos del menú 3 hamburguesas y papas fritas de pollo. En el momento de realizar el pedido, nos informaron que había una espera mínima de 45 minutos para la comida. . . . Lo que recibimos fue abismal, fría, diminuta papas fritas y una vinagreta agridulce. . . La hamburguesa en sí no estaba tan mal, al menos hacía calor.

Cierran la cocina media hora antes de lo debido.

This pub was just across the road from where we were staying and we had a very pleasant lunch there. All the usual pub type lunches were available and the prices were great.

Found this one when I was searching for a place to watch football, and this one has live sports all the time. The drinks were ok, didn’t order food.

1st order second round of pimms pitcher was more like a jug of ice then any actually drink! Then decided to order food was told its upto 1 hour wait as its busy due to England vs columbia which was understandable. Ordered food at 6.29pm told the bar woman Summer twice the table number 18 assuming she understood i sat down about 7.15pm i looked at the receipt and saw she put table 20 i went to inform her of the mistake she had made and was told not to worry the food will come to the right table around 7.30pm the food arrived cold, cold chips, cold burger, cold loaded chicken strips the cheese was no longer melted but solidifying when asking the waitress Sylvia she said they couldn't find the table i explained it was the bar woman Summer's fault and id already informed her of the mistake so it shouldn't have arrived cold was initially told nothing could be done as its so busy... Asked for the manager, was told shes too busy... Asked for a refund... Instead was offered for it to be microwaved... Chicken mircowaved possible food poisoning, chips were refried and handed back... Unfortunately the waitress Sylvia had to deal with the brunt of my disappointment but she did her best to resolve the issue on such a busy night by bring fresh chips but if the bar woman Summer had informed the kitchen team when i notified her this entire situation would have been avoided myself and friends wouldnt feel so disappointed. On such a busy night experienced staff should be taking orders to avoid such mistakes.

Should have known better than to enter a tatty empty pub for food on a Monday afternoon. Ordered cod and chips and out came goldfish and a couple of chips. I would assume a goldfish would look and taste better.

The food service is the worst I’ve ever seen. 3 of us ordered food at the same time. The first came out after 45mins and was below average, the second came out 30 mins later and the last didn’t make it out. Wouldn’t give a full refund on the food.

I find that this location is a bit of a 'hit and miss', really. I have visited sometimes and had a good decent meal with good service and at other times, the food has been less than mediocre with the service a bit lacking.

Havnt been in a while but food was always good. Decided to go this evening for food and drinks for a change as long day and had just driven back from Birmingham. I don't live in hendon so rang ahead to check if still serving to make sure before we got a bus there. Spoke to someone who assured me they served until 9 (which is what they advertise) and was told as long as the order was in before 9 it would be ok. Arrived 20 mins after i rang at 840 to be told the kitchen was closed. Bit of a joke to be honest. I could understand if it was quiet but it was quite busy. The fact I could've went somewhere more local to me if i had been told on the phone that they were finishing early is not good. I doubt if I'll return which is a shame cause I used to like the place alot and go there with friends for pool.

My uni friends are here every month of training weekends. I have been before for lunch/dinner/take away. It is our favourite restaurant and I love Italian

cheap, cheerful and a festive burger to die for!!!! Def recommend. Menu is simply but effective, but can't complain on much with prices. Beers cheap too so all round great place!

Wow where do I start total lack of professionalism and apparent disinterest from the manager. We went in on a Sunday evening and ordered two meals - mine arrived but I obviously waited for my wife's to arrive before starting. After 10 mins we enquired where her meal was - just coming out now we were told - 10 mins later still nothing my food now cold. Took my food to the bar where the manager pointedly ignored me before an embarrassed member of his team encouraged him to speak to us. I asked for a refund as it was unacceptable which he processed without even an apology - I would advise avoiding this establishment.

Had drinks and food in Sunday afternoon - food average quality but completely what we expected for money - staff friendly enough - pub could do with a bit of tidy up with sofas etc but overall okay - very noisy if sitting outside as is on mainroad - we was staying in hotel opposite so location wise this was great for us

Me visita este pub muy a menudo a comer algo. Pero esta vez me quedé muy decepcionada. Vine con mi novio en el día en que un partido de fútbol fue en. Esto no cambia el hecho de que estábamos esperando de hamburguesas para venir más de 70 minutos! Sí, nos quedaremos de ese tiempo. Después de un par de quejas por fin llegaron. Queso derretido en no era todo y patatas fritas parecía**** y sabía horrible. Nos íbamos muy enfadado, no estoy seguro si volvemos.

The Hendon is really just an average pub, if you are looking for a nice pint, from a partly polished glass and you don't mind the bar being a bit sticky at time then this is your relaxed pub next door. The staff are relaxed, friendly and there are lots of games that you can play which is great. I have been a few times and usually see quite a young crowd in there with the odd group of 'older' people sitting somewhere separate watching sports. (Oh by the way probably great for watching sports!) But the food is either frozen and then microwaved or chucked into the deep fryer straight from the freezer depending on what you order. I would not recommend the food, although given it's not very expensive it's ok every once in a while. Not good for a proper sit down meal or Sunday roast sorry.

A nice and cheap local pub. It is away from the city but if you live or stay local, the best place to have lunch or dinner.

Sunday roast was absoultley disgusting if you want everything cooked from frozen was not edible , waste of money I have eaten here quite often but first time trying the roast never again very disappointed waited approx 20 minutes for the dinner now I know why it all had to be defrosted , bar staff pleasant and waitress . Shame that you offer your Sunday roast maybe you should stipulate not fresh but frozen then customer has the choice to make decision if they want it

We had our office Xmas meal there yesterday. The places were set with decent crackers and a welcome Ferero Rocher. We had Starter, main, desert and three bottles of wine. It was my colleagues birthday and I'd asked for a profiterole pyramid; beautifully presented exactly when we'd asked for it, by our wonderful host (Farny?). Ten of us, Xmas meal, the bill was under £180. Take your own atmosphere, but expect friendly, efficient service, drinks and food at prices you wont easily find elsewhere in London.

We stayed at The Hide (a hotel just across the road from this restaurant/pub) sometime in September and we attempted to have dinner here due largely to proximity.Upon getting there, the atmosphere was so cold and unwelcoming. The waiters practically strolled past us while we sitted and waited for some form of service. When none came, we got up and left, we eventually had dinner elsewhere.I stay in North London often when i visit the UK. Never going back in there and i will not recommend this place to anyone.

Went here with my husband when staying nearby.Food is from the generic Green King Meet and Eat Menu. So, basically a step up from a ready meal. But was ok for the money. They have meal deals with two meals below £7. Drinks are reasonably priced.

Es el segundo año que nos hospedamos en el barrio, en el hotel de enfrente, y es un sitio mas que bueno para tomarte una buena cerveza (Con mucha variedad para elegir) e incluso para comer o cenar algo (solo dan cenas hasta las 9p.m.). Pasamos a tomar algo mas de una vez y hemos comido y cenado unas tres veces. Como he comentado la cerveza muy buena, y para ser Londres, la comida, calidad precio, muy buena (aunque nunca acierten con el punto de la carne :D ). Personalmente no tengo ninguna queja.

Went there with my girlfriend to watch Chelsea vs PSG and had a great time,there are screens everywhere,everybody is properly into watching the game,there was a good football atmosphere which is all I want as a football fan.Oh and drinks are quite cheap compare to other places on London,will defo go back there to watch football again.

Many times, as my local this place seems to be getting better and better, credit to the current manageress as she makes locals feel at home, steaks are just great and the guys behind the bar so polite and friendly.Keep going Hendon you guys rock!

Super pour boire un verre si vous n'êtes pas dans le centre de Londres. Les prix sont dignes de ceux des bars de provinces en France ! Comptez £2,72 pour un verre moyen de Sauvignon Blanc plutot correct ultra rempli ! Les bières sont correctes et les prix très abordables; ça fait bizarre en étant sur Londres !

Pub sympathique situé dans le quartier de Hendon. Accueil amical et courtois, une carte de petits plats typiques des pubs, bons marché, de bonne qualité et copieux. Un choix de bière à prix abordable (avec néanmoins peu de bières anglaises).

Vraiment appréciable de se poser après une journée dans la capital dans un endroit typique et loin des standarts du centre ville. Carte variée. Prix abordables pour Londres. Vraiment une bonne expérience. A refaire.

Busy hotel/pub in the centre of Hendon. Staff were friendly and the food arrived quickly. The menu gives a good choice and various options are available. The food itself was well presented and the price was very reasonable. I will eat here again.

The Hendon has been my local for a long time and has definitely improved over the years. Perhaps the toilets still need great attention as they're not the nicest place to be. Food is fairly basic but excellent value for money. We spend a lot of time outside in the summer as they've got a nice front garden with tables and chairs facing the A41.Mostly, it shows all the football matches throughout the season across many many screens, including a huge projector!Long may The Hendon last as it's cherished by locals.

This is definitely a sports bar with all that conjures up. Noisy as most people are there are to drink and watch the sports - it was cricket while we were there. The food is ordered at the bar and then picked up. The food was average bar food. The prices are good, the service average, the cleanliness (in the toilets) not so good.

very relaxing for sports lovers with the various TVs in the restaurant. Tasty food at good prices and with divided rooms, you have a choice of the comfortable sofas, padded chairs, or indeed the traditional bar stools. very efficient bar and kitchen. very clean. unavoidably it can be loudy at times since there is sports. Also proper sitting outside the restaurant... properly located to public transport including the London tube.

Lovely food with an extensive menu. Everything you want from a pub/bar with quick service at a very generous price. There are a number of TV screens available with access to Skysports and BT Sport. Definitely one to visit if in the area

They had an offer outside which drew me in. It was 3 courses for the price of 2 for £8.49 during month of November so I asked at the bar and two inexperienced people were unaware. I pointed out the offer and one of them called the manager who said oh that's for Christmas. I said ok I'd like that and he said it had to be prebooked. Nowhere did it say this on their board. It was just a con to get people in. I told manager would complain to trading standards as this was tantamount to a breach of the trades description act. Manager gave me a 'couldn't care less' attitude.

Come tutti i locali, anche questo da cena solo fino alle 9.00 pm! Il locale é decisamente carino ma non proprio per turisti! Il (penso) proprietario non ha molta pazienza se non capisci cosa dice! In ogni caso una volta che ti sei seduto devi scegliere cosa mangiare ed andarlo ad ordinare al bancone e pagare subito!!! Abbiamo preso due antipasti e due hamburger (di cui uno veg) ed era tutto abbastanza buono! Peccato tutte le posate sporche!!! Erano le 9.30 pm ed abbiamo provato ad ordinare un dolce ma ci é stato negato in quanto la cucina era già chiusa.. Pazienza... Il tutto per circa 20 sterline! Difficilmente ci torneremo!!

Food, service and staff were great. Grab a table, note the number, order your food and drinks at the bar, back to your table and the staff will bring your food to you. Yum!
