Truly Scrumptious in Flintshire

I had the soup and sandwich. The soup was delicious, it was cauliflower and cheese and hot. The prawn sandwich was really awful. I didn’t eat it past the first couple of bites. The prawns were almost luke warm in the sauce - which wasn’t good: not sure if the temperature of the sauce has warmed the prawns up. I didn’t trust it and couldn’t eat it. The waitress didn’t ask why I had left my sandwich, just asked for payment of £11:40. This included a tea ☕️

Lovely tea room, if a bit too far on the "small and cramped" side. Quick and competent service. Very nice benedict, *BAD* coffee. Should have taken the hint and gone for tea.

Missed breakfast by 3 minutes ... and they would not serve us, saying the kitchen was closed for breakfast. Coming from New York just to visit this one place, so this was more than disappointing and a complete waste of time driving to Mold. We went to the next Cafe, who said the same, but they did serve us - which is Customer Service.

A fantastic little place, cosy, and staff are very friendly, and welcoming, very much worth a visit.

Such an amazing service from this lovely tea room, everything we had was truly scrumptious too! We enjoyed a full breakfast and a breakfast sandwich and couldn’t fault it. All the staff were really friendly and they went above and beyond for us. We would highly recommend a visit.

We have used this tea room for several years as we live about 2 miles from Mold and it is handy to drop in for a cuppa. The quality of the food and drinks is very good and we have had both tea and coffee there. We have not sampled all the items on the menu but those we have eaten to my palate are always delicious.

We have been here twice now and loved it both times. Great choice of breakfasts on the menu. Waitresses (one in particular!) are always great with our young daughter, providing high chair, plastic cups and lots of effort and laughs. Thankyou!

The sign of an excellent eatery is that it is always busy. We eat here regularly and the food is delicious - love the homemade soup and the cakes. Everyone that works there are always so friendly and helpful. Just a lovely, quaint tearoom. Would highly recommend 😊

Excellent as tea rooms should be

Glad to see it is still thriving after Covid. We feared it might vanish. We visit Mold a couple of times a year and always head for this cafe. Warm welcome, nice staff, brilliant scones (although we missed out as it was market day and we had been beaten to it). Do try their BLT .... magic . Always clean ( including toilets). Obviously and understandably well used by local people. I nearly didnt do this review as Truly Scrumptious has an almost perfect rating anyway. But I had to put in my "pennyworth".Will be back again ....PS . amazingly good menu.

Visited truly scrumptious in mold today for the first time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Tables and seating were disinfected after each customer before new customers were allowed near the seating area you felt very safe in this place with everything that is going on now will definitely be going bzck

Lovely clean, fresh and airy. Really friendly from walking in the door to walking out. I needed feeding and haven't been to Truly Scrumptious for a few years and it was near so dropped in . I had a small breakfast and Mum a veggie sausage sandwich one of us on tea the other coffee. It was lovely to only have to say no milk in either drink once so often we still get brought a jug of milk or have it automatically added.

This was our first time going to this amazing cafe! We can honestly say it was outstanding from start to finish, staff were very attentive and the food was amazing and a good value for money... that's all you can ask for at the end of the day! Portions were an ideal size that suited us both, we will definitely be returning in the future for many more treats and goodies! Highly recommended to anyone looking to endulge their sweet tooth, or for something on the savoury side- Truly Scrumptious is the place to go too! Thank you.

Excellent service, great food, great value for money. We had a lovely welcome, no complaints about the service, food was delicious and cakes to die for. Even due to the restrictions we did not feel rushed. Well done on your lovely tea room. Would highly recommend a visit, but book as it gets busy - a good sign.

We have been to this tearoom for many years and have never ever been disappointed. The service is perfect and the staff so friendly we live on the Wirral but often pop over to mold just for lunch. Looking forward to seeing you again soon

Meet up with friends most Saturdays. We go to truly scrumptious as it's a lovely place to eat and has a lovely atmosphere.lots of choice on the menu.the staff are very welcoming and attentive. It's a very busy cafe which shows you how good it is.

Had afternoon tea here for the first time. A lovely selection of freshly made sandwiches and more home made cake than we could eat! Mention any allergies on booking or arrival as I couldn't eat a couple of the cake choices although my friends say they were delicious too. A very popular tea shop, all the tables were full all afternoon with lots of regulars which is always a good sign. The owner's are very friendly and attentive, nothing too much trouble. They have gone to a lot of effort to make it like an olde worlde tea shop with lovely crockery and flowery tablecloths and cushions. Very pretty. We plan to return many times. Superb!

Mold has an excellent selection of cafes and restaurants 'Truly Scrumptious ' being one of them. It is certainly one to visit. The service and food are first class. The Tea room is spotlessly clean and a credit to the owners.

I ordered a birthday cake for my wife's 70th birthday. It was a 3 tier lemon cake and Esme (the owner) also made small glutton-free cakes. The order was ready on time. They were all absolutely gorgeous - so moist and delicious. I would definitely recommend to anyone to go to Truly Scrumptious for all their cakes- they will not be disappointed.

Looking for somewhere for lunch in Mold, this morning, we passed ‘Truly Scrumptious’ and then tried to find somewhere to park. After turning round in the town and retracing our steps (or wheels) we found a short -term car park 50 yards to the north on the road in from the M56/A55. Take the ‘Town centre’ road from the Macdonald’s roundabout. You can tell we were ‘first-timers’ in Mold!Enough of how to find ‘Truly Scrumptious’, what about the food and service?The name is well-chosen. Our sandwiches were freshly made and delicious. And the orange cake, with orange marmalade and buttercream was out of this world. All served with a friendly smile, which made us feel very welcome.Must go back and try something else.

Came to mold for the food fest & market but decided on a cuppa before going around the town - the order was supposed to be just coffee but when we saw the cakes etc it was a quick change of plan - her fancied the bara brith & said it was lovely, I tried to get closer to pinch a bit - only for scientific purposes to see if I could dissect the ingredients - no chance it went with a few mmmmm’s so it was down to my 2 rounds of lovely thick toast, love to know what bread supplier. My partner on her 1st visit there was really impressed - she said the coffee house was just her cup of tea - erm I’m still trying to work that out - oh see you in 2 weeks so I’m told

Called in at Scrumptious on a Saturday morning for a breakfast. Very busy inside. It was market day. Just managed to get a table. Had two small breakfasts with coffees. The owners and the staff are always very friendly and chatty. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome.The food was excellent as always. Fantastic value for money. Every time I visit Mold I call in at Scrumptious for a bite to eat.Give this place a a try. I guarantee that once you do, you will return time and time again as I do.

This is a cafe with a good menus, nothing is too much trouble for customers. They use vintage crockery which is a lovely touch. Not a very big cafe but worth the wait if there's no tables.

Popped in for tea and cakes. Been before so knew what to expect. Still a lovely atmosphere. Most customers are obviously local and regulars and we can understand why. Opted for scones but they had none of the cheese ones. If you visit, try one. My scone (fruit) was so tasty that I fancied another. They were sold out in the cafe but the good lady retrieved one from the freezer and expertly defrosted it. It tasted as though she had just made it !!! It was recommended by the"gaffer" who is the friendly gentleman who operates as a maitre d' taking orders and making customers comfortable . He actually advised me to try it without the jam first as it was an orange & sultana. He was right. Lovely and different (the scone... not him). It appears to be run by the man and two ladies. This place is CLEAN and comfy. If I lived in Mold I would always be in and out of this tearoom. If we visit again we will allow a bit more time so we can try out larger meals as they seem to have good reviews. Thank you to the Gaffer for making us welcome with a little chat and also to his two lady colleagues who are probably also responsible for the range of delicious home made cakes.You will not get rich on the likes of us but you certainly add a touch of sunshine to your regulars' days and give odd visitors like us something to look forward to.

There are lots of small local cafes in this appealing small town - a good reason to visit or to stop off while travelling to or from Wales. Truly Scrumptious is a character tea room right beside one of the town car parks (£1 for 3 hours). We stopped in for breakfast and were warmly welcomed. The smaller breakfast option at £5.95 included tea or coffee. The Americano came out with a decent crema on it and a bit of body - perhaps it is the Welsh water that improves the coffee? Our breakfasts were served on nice china, came out quickly and were tasty. The cafe itself is light and bright, and there is one very clean and nicely set up toilet. I think we will be stopping in Mold more often.

Called in once again for a spot of light lunch. Excellent service as usual. Nice to be recognised by the owner. My wife had Welsh Rarebit with Poached Egg, I had Bacon,Mushrooms and Cheese on a toasted Bloomer. We also had 2 latte's. Can't fault anything and will probably be in again this Saturday.

Great little Cafe that is 'old fashioned' in a good way. Decent cups for the tea and coffee, not mugs. Staff attentive and friendly and the food excellent. The Welsh Rarebit with Bacon was delicious. Will definitely call in again when in the area.

Had a lovely afternoon tea with my family as a birthday treat . Friendly service with tasty cakes and sandwiches. A warm welcome with that personal touch . Will definitely be returning to this little gem .

After previously spotting this cafe,we decided to stop for a light lunch.How glad we were that we did,from the minute we entered the service was first class.The decor is very nice,so clean and bright with tablecloths and matching china crockery.We were promptly served,I had scrambled egg on tasty brown bloomer bread,hubby chose the all day breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed.We also had a pot of tea and I could not resist the cakes on display which all looked rather good.Nothing seemed too much trouble for any of the staff and we will certainly be visiting again soon.

We popped in for lunch during my lunch hour, so time was at a premium. Our order was taken promptly and our hot drinks arrived soon after. The food is piping hot and tasty. Everything is beautifully presented and the staff are so nice.

I called in at Truly Scrumptious on a Monday morning for breakfast whilst doing a bit of shopping in Mold. I have eaten here many times before.

We enjoyed a very welcome cup of coffee and a pot of tea along with slices of lemon drizzle cake. Convenient location and efficient and friendly service. Will definitely return when in the area again. Recommended.

I had been for a 'fasting' blood test early this morning, so by the time we got to Mold I was very, very hungry!

We diverted to Mold due to severe delays on the A55 today in order to find somewhere for lunch. This cute little cafe was just the job and also a few steps away from the short stay carpark (£1 for 2 hours). The cafe is clean and delightfully decorated and the staff are friendly and attentive. For lunch, there was plenty of choice: soup, sandwiches, baked potatoes, omelettes, various choices “on toast”. We chose the baked potato with coleslaw which was served with a salad and arrived promptly. Although we didn’t have cake, the choices looked “truly scrumptious”! Such a novel idea to provide a small pair of scissors with those pesky sachets of salad cream, tomato ketchup etc. Why haven’t other cafes and restaurants thought of this?

My daughter and I popped in here today for some breakfast. The cafe was lovely and clean and I perticularily liked the china cups and a proper tea pot. However, when we cut into our sausages they were pink in the middle. I descretly spoke to the gentleman and he offered to replace them. A short while later the cook returned with fresh sausages and a thermometer to 'Prove'they were the correct temperature and went on to explain that the manufacturer uses a pink dye in the sausages. We would have been quite happy to have just had our sausages replaced without the cookery lesson which attracted glances from other customers and made us feel uncomfortable. There really wasnt any need for the lady to demonstrate with a thermometer.

Enjoyed a visit for lunch. Gluten free bread was available but no options that were also egg free, no combined gluten free and vegan options. Didn't have soya milk for the coffee either. Partner enjoyed his food though so for those without allergies, or just gluten free, would recommend!

Noticed this place on a brief visit to Mold on holiday. It is a clean, comfortable and attractive tea-room. My husband and I had an early lunch (well, his was a late breakfast!). I had a baked potato with melted cheese and lovely fresh salad. My husband had a very nice 'small' breakfast, which in fact was quite big! He also appreciated the scissors provided to open sachets since has has arthritic hands. Tea and coffee were excellent. Although I wasn't ready for cake at that point, I have to say the cake on display looked delicious!

I ordered a cake for my husband's 70th birthday. I couldn't believe how amazing the chocolate cake looked. When I took it to where we were celebrating everyone was asking who had made the beautiful cake. It was moist and delicious and I would definitely recommend Truly Scrumptious to anyone looking for cakes. Esme was also able to provide some gluton free cakes as well. She is so talented.

This is where we go 3 or 4 times a week for coffee. The staff are always welcoming and polite and we wouldn't consider going anywhere else. We have also had cooked breakfast and lunch here. The food is consistently of a high quality and the service is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. Please try the fantastic cakes made by Esme the owner. They are gorgeous!!,

Have been here many times and always enjoyed it. Staff are lovely, the place is really clean and tidy and the food is very good, especially the home-made cakes. There are lots of nice little touches like newspapers to read and a small pair of scissors provided to aid in opening the sauce sachets!

Visited here today for lunch while shopping in mold. Nice polite staff and clean little cafe. I ordered the pulled pork bap off the winter warmer menu and a hot chocolate. Hot choc lovely and hot just what I needed on a cold miserable day however was a little disappointed that the bap was served cold especially as it was from the winter warmer menu. Was reasonably busy though and seems to be a popular place to visit.

This was our second visit to Truly Scrumptious, yet another wonderful meal. The first time we call we had soup and sandwiches. This time we call for a cooked breakfast, the breakfast includes your drinks (tea or coffee) which are served in China cups, in keeping with the surroundings. As I didn't want the black pudding the owner asked if my husband wanted to have the extra black pudding, and there was no sign of any grease on the plate, which we have had at other places. Even the small attention to detail of placing small scissors in with the packets of sauce, to save the sauce going everywhere. Will definitely be back.

When visiting Mold usually on market days we usually have lunch here. It's so homely with freshly made food. You might have to wait for a table but it is worth it.

Tucked away just off Mold high street (where the Thursday and Saturday market is held) we found this little gem via a Google search. Very quaint and very afternoon tea style. China teapot and cups and saucers. It was just gone 3pm and we ordered tea and soup/sandwiches and cakes. What made it stand out? The gluten free options! Ask people if the do gluten free you get looked at like you have two heads! The bread was lovely and the soup very tasty. Presented beautifully. Gluten free strawberry cake was delicious and home made. All food made fresh. Closes at 4pm which is great as lots of places close at 3. Would highly recommend and will visit again when I'm next in Mold.

Aquí con un amigo llamado camino norte por una taza de té y tostadas con pastel. Lugar absolutamente precioso poco, un buen salón de té. Toallitas vintage adornan el mesas y se sirve té en un recipiente impecable china y copas y que coinciden. Están decoradas con buen gusto. Inodoros impecables. En resumen, una experiencia fantástica.

Pequeño y encantador con un gran salón de té de propietarios que no pueden hacer lo suficiente. Mesas constantemente limpio y hemos sido testigos del propietario en más de una ocasión, en sus manos y rodillas con las alfombras limpieza coleccionista de miga. Tienen tamaño niño cubiertos, libros para los niños. Además de todo es la comida sencilla tgat realmente bien preparado y bien servido. Los pasteles son para morirse y casero.

Called after reading reviews , had soup and sandwich, a panini and scone jam and cream , the food was very good and nicely presented, the cafe is very nice and clean , china cups and saucers, lots of homemade cakes that look good, staff very good , which makes the cafe have a lovely atmosphere, I would definitely recommend and will be calling in again next time Iam in the area.

As said in my title it is a lovely place and would go back in future. 4 stars just because they have plenty of gluten free options, even bread, but don't even have soya milk for those like me with a dairy intolerance.

This little place is a Gem. It is near a car park so very handy after shopping at the great Mold Market and town stores. The ambiance is lovely with china teacups and teapots server at delightful tables with linen tablecloths. The food here is exceptional and the service is tops. A wonderful place to visit after a walk at Loggerheads or Moel Famau.

We are new to the area, and go to Mold regularly, as its good for the market and shops. Truly Scrumptious always has that warm cosy feeling, staff are warm and friendly, and the menu is good, with an array of snacks ranging from soups to salads, cheese on toast, egg on toast, cakes and bara brith, and lovely pots of tea. It is a nice place to go for a break from shopping, and you can sit and read a paper provided.. All food is good value too.

Popped in the tea shop a while ago and really have enjoyed every visit since. Food is fresh, home cooked and so tasty. Good value and friendly.

Early for an appointment so popped in for a cuppa. What a beautiful tea room, decorated to compliment the atmosphere. We ordered tea for two and toasted tea cakes. A lovely tray arrived with a large teapot, two China cups and saucers and tea cakes with butter, a pleasant sight from a very friendly lady. Enough tea in the pot for three cups each, great value for money. Good choice of food on the menu and the dames looked yummy. Would highly recommend as an essential stopoff after a shopping trip.

Two ladies with a 15week old in a pram, given a very warm welcome. Service excellent in a very clean restaurant. Access excellent. Meals arrived in no time and price very reasonable,definitely worth a visit.

Came in here on the off chance of looking for some where that isn't a chain for once. Delightful place very friendly staff and spotlessly clean. I asked for food that wasn't on the menu and they couldn't of helped me out more. They delivered everything I asked for. Not expensive either , will come back as I believe their breakfasts are second to none.

If you want to be looked after then this lovely little tea shop is for you , popped in for a Scone & a latte , I think the gentleman who took my order was the owner , he really did go the extra mile , making sure everyone was happy & looked after , he offered to top up the other customers tea pots , you don't usually get this level of service anymore , I definitely can't recommend this Café enough . The cakes & food are really very good .
