Tru burger in Birmingham

We were in Birmingham with the family for a small get away! I did some research on halal food places to try whilst there and Tru Burger came up. After reading all the good reviews on here, we were really looking forward to it. Got there the diner looked good and the staff were friendly. The starters were nice, we got lamb chops and Mac an cheese sticks and that’s where it stops! The mains were disappointing, the burger looked good but when trying to eat it was very sloppy, too much sauce and everything just fell out. The chips were soaking in oil! Tru Burger brand setup is good, they just need to improve the delivery and quality of food!

Huge Burgers. Amazing Taste. Quaint Decor. Great Atmosphere. The Staff here are very attentive and the turnaround time for food was very quick. We ordered their staple 'Tru Burger' Burger and we were blown away. Definitely coming back to revisit this menu!

We visited tru burger today, as we have done many time before and ordered food we have ordered before so we knew what to expect. The philby steak roll had very little meat content. The hills meal was OK. The animal fri3s were disgusting and the mince meat had been replaced by scraps of chicken, unknown to me as the menu stayed mince. When I combined the one waiter told me that they had run out of mince so replaced it with chicken ......another waiter told me that it had always contained chicken which is not true. This is definitely the last time I go and spend my money there, the management have obviously decided to reduce quality but still charge the inflated prices. My advice, avoid this place ..... there are many other better option on the same road

Best burgers and lamb chops we have had in a while. You will not be disappointed. Staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was lovely.

I visited Tru Burger, Ladypool Road today, with my sisters and it was my first time trying it out after lockdown and Eid . It was a nice atmosphere and the girl that took our order was very attentive, polite and professional and her customer service was really good. She recommended 2 new mojito flavours not on the menu, passion fruit and mango, Blue berry mojito and the strawberry mojito of the menu. The food was really nicely presented and each individual item was fresh and lovely. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Birmingham or in the area. I have uploaded pics of the food we tried. Our bill came to around £45 for 3 people and I would go again based on my recent positive experience.

Absolutely loved the cheesy pesto eggs It’s my favourite breakfast item! I have tried the full English before which was delicious also. The eggs were cooked to perfection which accompanied the sourdough toast nicely. The restaurant has a great vibe whether it’s morning or evening!

Truburger solía ser agradable. Pero al igual que todos los restaurantes de propiedad de Birmingham, Pakistán, la calidad se ha ido a por todas. No se dan ollas de salsa para un pedido tan grande. Las patatas fritas estaban aceitosas, las bolas de macarrones con queso tenían queso de estaca. Comida promedio, simplemente enojado porque el estándar ha bajado tanto.

It was supposed to be a nice family dinner but turned out to be a complete waste of money. £11 per tasteless burger with soggy lazy fries . Would not recommend to anyone. The mince meat in animal fries was only 1% that I needed to search in the sauce ,my husband and children didn’t trust me that there is mince meat in it until I showed them only as few tiny dots of it. I went there couple of years before , loved their tower burger , it was filling . But this time tower burger was tasteless and smaller in both circumference and height . They not only degrade their quality , they degraded quantity also.

We have been going to tru burger for years. Can’t beat their quality of burgers anywhere !!! And those sweet potato fries are to die for ! Consistently high quality which I have failed to find anywhere else in town. Keep up the good work and flipping those beef burgers !

Tru burger ticks all the boxes from good food to good service. You can always rely on them for a good experience even during their busiest time of when the scheme of eat out to help out was taking place. There is one waitress who is always there when we go and she is always friendly and provides really good customer service. she makes recommendations and they are always good. even for my little girl. I have been to Tru burger numerous times and will continue to do so as they are great.

I enjoyed this place a lot when it first opened and the recent menu change had given the joint a major boost, thoroughly enjoyed my double fried chicken fillet burger; for starters I ordered the wings and chicken thighs, both were fresh and cooked to perfection, I loved the fried chicken batter especially!

Pictures don’t justify how good the burgers and chops are at this place! Plus it’s halal!! Amazing food, with good customer service!

I have visited in the past as well and found the chips not be all that appetising but the lamb burger was average. This time round I again came with a friend a few weeks ago and we both ordered the minted lamb burger along with milkshakes, the tiny restaurant was very overcrowded and there was a little queue outside. We were seated fairly quickly but it took ages for someone to come around to take our order.

Great food- Pulled beef, Classic burger. Well presented. Polite staff and efficient service. Highly recommend this place and would love to visit again.

Food was ok burger was very nice however was a very sloppy burger, may have been my fault may have ordered everything in my burger however sides were mediocre, what boosted it was the staff- very friendly took care of us very well- thats what made the place- mocktails were very nice and interms of custermization on the food they have everything. Overall not a bad place for a meet up. Price was reasonable aswell. Atmosphere very nice !! Nicely decorated

I first visited Tru Burger just under 2 years ago and the food was really good. The burgers were good size and value for money and the sticky wings were amazing. However on my last visit a couple of weeks ago the burgers tasted bland and looked like they’ve shrank in size. The staff are very friendly but food is just average

I came here with my two friends from London and had the chicken steak, the starter platter for 2 and chicken tenders. There was so much food we couldn’t finish it - amazing portions! Fazeela was amazing and attended to all of our needs and helped us with her local knowledge!! One of the best places on Ladypool road!!! Thanks again Fazeela ☺️☺️☺️☺️

It was cold in the restaurant and service was a little slow. However when the food came it was delicious.

Popped into this place for a midweek evening indulgence and whilst shopping in Birmingham... Greeted by a lovely waitress who was more than accommodating to our request to be seated somewhere warm. Menus given and she was happy to recommend the prawns and lamb chops for our starters ... which were absolutely lip lickingly delicious ... For mains we went for the Wagu steak and Jerk chicken burger, both were tasty and cooked to perfection. What I loved about this place was the service with a smile and the relaxed friendly vibe. When local, I’d definitely pop back for more.

They were very good when they first opened, quality has dropped slightly but the tru burger itself is still pretty decent. The wings could be better, I liked them when they were more crispy.

The food was fresh and of excellent quality, in particular the lamb chops, which we had ordered alongside a starter platter to share. The platter was of a generous size with plenty to choose from. The platter consisted of fully loaded nachos, crispy onion rings, delicious sticky bbq wings, mac & cheese croquets and finally some chicken strips (cannot go wrong with those!). They also do the best strawberry mojito and i particularly enjoy the hot hawaiian burger or the buttermilk chicken burger with sweet potato fries!

I really like the taste of the burgers as I've been numerous times now. This place is constantly improving and evolving and has a really good range of burgers on the menu. It also has chicken and lamb if you don't want any beef.

Although the service was fair- I found out the day after I had severe food poisoning and it was definitely the philly steak burger I ordered at Tru Burger. Took me over 2 days to recover- I would recommend people just avoid this place.

Not worth the money for what it’s for, the food is just average, nothing special.

I have been attending Tru Burger over the years and I can say every time I visit it’s always getting Better. The choices on the menu are superb and the food is consistently amazing !!!

A great find in Ladypool Road and exemplar to how the thoroughfare has evolved from a string of greasy curry joints twenty years ago to a vibrant and varied locale full of interesting options. We wanted crafted burger tonight and got exactly that. Mine was a lamb burger in mint and yoghurt style and hit the spot. Worth a visit as is the tea house across the road after.

Had to wait as being Saturday night you can expect this, staff where friendly and welcoming.

I have visited Tru Burger many times and the food is consistently exceptional.

Drove 2 hours to eat here and was really looking forward to it. Sadly it was one of the worst experiences. Food arrived after 1 hour from ordering. After questioning the wait, manager informed us it was apparently due to the transition between breakfast period and lunch. Poor excuse. Other customers were also waiting over an hour for their food. Served us wrong sides. Chicken fillet burger was dry. Beef burger was OK nothing special and definitely not worth the 1 hour wait! Mocktail was average, basically just lemon and 7UP. Waiter refused to bring us napkins and told us to go to the till to get some. POOR SERVICE. Manager took £2 off the bill for the 1 hour delay! Will not be returning. DISAPPOINTED!

Visited here a week ago as I have craving their philly cheesesteak. Great visit on a bisy Saturdsy evening only took 5 minutes to get a seat. On another note I like they use good surface cleaner Dettol and clean the flooring before making sure they seat you. But service and food is always amazing. Can't beat their philly cheesesteak honestly have to say its the best I have had in Birmingham. Always will reccomend. Definately worth visiting.

Been here recently for the first time and I absolutely loved the food they even do nachos the right way with the good cheese guacamole and the lot. Huge portions for burgers as well tasty moctails. Will definitely go again.

Never have i ever seen an oversight in customer services. Was seated right near the table by the entrance as you walk into the restaurant. It was slightly cold so i mentioned that they used to keep a radiator near the front. He laughs and mentions bring a duvet next time. HOW RUDE. customer service was put aside.

Visit here regularly. Staff are always friendly specially the Asian girl with the pony. Very attentive. The foods always prompt and tastes amazing evrytime, very consistent. The wings r the best thing Shame they never had any on my last visit

Visited first time from Leicester, place was recommended by a few people. We went for breakfast, staff were very friendly and helpful. Place is child friendly with highchairs just a shame about the steps when you enter. Portions are decent size. Would visit again to try the burgers.

It was a first visit with my wife. ordered the butterfly chicken steak with chips which was quite decent, the salad had too much olive oil on it which ruined the taste. My wife had a sultan burger which she enjoyed as she likes spicy food. The only down side was the chicken strips which we ordered. They were definitely cooked from frozen and tasted like it, bland and tasteless. They tasted the like the ones you get from the supermarkets when you just fry them.

Average food (it might be down to the choice of burger) Good price but I would rather pay more and get better food. Can’t fault the service, staff very polite. Average

Food was standard, service was okay. Would go again but not the best place I have been to. Have to ask for things eg a straw more than once!

They present themselves as a chic Burger place but need to focus more on their customer service which can only be felt by those who go there to dine with a hope for a good time.

The burgers are good but it just feels overpiced for what you're getting. They had animal fries which I've never had before - it's pretty nice but I'd still prefer normal fries

Service was great, items on the menu were explained for various tastes. I went for the butterfly chicken steak with peppercorn sauce, fried egg, mash potatoes and steak cut chips. Such a tasty meal, thoroughly enjoyed it. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back! :)

Can't comment on the classic burgers but had the pulled beef burger. Very tasty along with sweet potato fries. Decent food and good service. My friend had the philli cheese steak which he also really liked.

Visité Tru Burger esta noche con un amigo y el servicio y la comida me parecieron excelentes. Tuve la hamburguesa picante y amigo tenía la hamburguesa Tru! El mío no era tan picante dado que me gusta más que el calor promedio, así que el camarero me dio un poco de salsa picante que le dio la patada extra que estaba buscando:)

We hadn’t booked a table but they were kind enough to sort a table even though it was quite busy. Service was really good , the waitress was polite . Food was really good !

I went to TRU Burger with a few friends for a social. We waited over 45 minutes for our food and when it arrived we were disappointed.

Looked this place up on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, our waitress Razilla (sorry if i got that wrong!) in particular went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our order and our food. The food we ordered was tasty; recommend the tru burger with chicken and the fully loaded fries.

Love the buttermilk chicken burger I've had to date in Birmingham. Very crispy and moist everytime I order however, Pricing is too high.

The burgers here taste great. The meat was cooked perfectly and the prices are really reasonable too.

Went with a couple of friends for food didn’t really have a place in mind to eat so ended up in Tru burger, food was nice considering it was near closing time, didn’t manage to finish burger off as it was quite filling. Oderd a ribeye steak medium and came absolutely perfectly cook chargrilled colour on the outside redy pink on the inside just how a steak should be cooked and eaten. Most halal steak places over cook the steak like torros next door and 90% of asians love it because they have been brought up on over cooked meat, the people who say tru burger steaks are raw need educating on how a steak should be cooked and eaten. Only wish tru burger offered fillet steak thats the best cut. Please offer fillet steak soon

Macaroni Burger with a side of Fully Loaded Fries, & a Steak & Cheese Philly with Skin on Fries.

I’m a regular goer to Tru Burger. Their burgers are brilliant- the meat always tastes fresh and clean. They have quite a wide variety on their menu but I always go for the burgers. Their staff are incredibly kind and service is always WIH a smile. The service is quick and food is always hot and fresh. Only issue we sometimes have is music is a bit too loud. This is only when we are sat close to the speakers, but when we request for it to be lowered, they are more than happy to do so. Very good food and very kind staff overall.

This place food is amazing been twice this month and both times their food was amazing. Most places can’t keep up consistency but this place can. The lamb chops are the best iv ever had they are cooked to perfection they are succulent moist a bit on the small side but the taste and the texture makes up for the size. The classic chicken tru burger is also succulent juicy tasty and the fully loaded fries are good tasting to fries mixed with mince lamb and peppers. My friend had the tru lamb burger the lamb inside the bun was soft and juicy. They do steaks to most halal places do not know how to cook steaks but if the steaks are as succulent as the lamb chops then they are worth a try so next time will try the steaks.

We came for our last eating out iftar and had the platter for 2 for starters, the burger which had mushrooms inside and chicken steak. Starters were good esp the chicken wings. Burger was ok, hand cut fries are good, chicken steak was really good and drinks were good. So, overall it was a good meal.

One of few places in Birmingham that actually do a great halal burger. Good combination of toppings and always bang on. None of this dry burger business. Chips are good too.

Visit this place for my friends birthday the burger was good, however the fully loaded chips sold the whole meal. Apart from the food taking some time to come, worth a visit for a the chips.

This is my husband and I favourite place to dine, from breakfast to lunch to dinner they've mastered it all. The first time I tasted their breakfast menu was an experience I can not describe, it was absolutely delicious. Needless to say, their lunch and normal menu are just as delicious, they do lovely burgers and nachos too.

I love coming here to get my burger fix. I have been here many times, they do good quality burgers. The meat is never over cooked and they offer good burger combinations. My wife ordered a steak, it was nice....I admit I was surprised.

this is mine and my husband's fave place to dine out. the food is amazing. the wings are lovely. and the Philly steak is to die for. everything on that menu is tasty. the service is brilliant. I think she's the owner or manager but she's always attentive and is polite. knows my hubs has allergies from the first time we came and has always remembered. 10/10.

Came from Wolverhampton 15/01/18 There was 4 of us, we placed our order pretty much straight away & the girl serving us was so attentive & gave us some suggestions on what to order. We had BBQ wings & loaded animal nachos which were scrummy...

Ordered using deliveroo... after spending 12 was delivered a raw patty in my burger.

Went in January '18. Great place. Proper true burger diner. I got the breakfast bap in the morning and because it was so nice we decided to go for dinner in the evening. I got the buttermilk chicken breast burger meal. Wow. What can I say. Coming from a wealth of burger joint experience, this is up there. I wouldn't say it's a REALLY posh place but if you're looking for something that offers pure quality food, this is your place in Brum. Just to give you an idea of the size of the place, it would probably fit about 30 people? Will always go to this place at least once every time I visit Brum.

I expect a fresh beef patti from a restaurant that specialises in burgers however I was served a dry, tasteless, chewy beef burger that obviously came out of the freezer. I can genuinely say a £1.99 burger from a random takeaway has more taste, flavour and juice than a burger from this place. They had built the burger all wrong too so it wouldn't stay in place after one bite (I think the sauces were on both sides of the lettuce so it was just very slippery and messy). I would absolutely not recommend this place.

Burgers are absolutely dry and tasteless. Patties are thick which is good but it tastes like a grainy rubber.

Miembro del personal dijeron que cocinar de tamaño pero si como nosotros, me gusta la mía bien hecho sin zumos rojos para mí gracias, así dijeron que el matar a favor como la mía, que chico mis compañeros pidieron para el mismo. Un bollo bien presentado y ensalada, patatas fritas y mucho hecho bien, en general, 5 *

Went to tru burger after quite a while, did actually head to that new place rustys smokehouse but they were busy and clueless so didn't bother waiting, tru burger was quiteish, had one of the burgers and have to say the do make really nice tasty burgers kids enjoyed their meals all in all for 2nd choice it was great would definitely go again

I WENT HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH A FEW FRIENDS, WE ORDERED THE FAMOUS "tru tower" it was nice but i couldn't open my mouth that wide so ended up eating it with a knife and fork, and the meat was a little under cooked for my liking. i would go there again but maybe once a year!

This is my first time and a burger is excellent we were a family of six and we all enjoying our food very much excellent service and a good value

decent burgers, the staff do try but it has declined over my last few visits.annoyingly they do not accept card payments (perhaps the tax man should pay a visit?) The portion sizes are good however you don't leave feeling you got what you paid for

Went there with my friend and kids today got confused with the menu and ordered a different burger from what I wanted.the staff was extremely polite and generous tht thy swapped both the burgers to the one we wanted.Had mushroom swiss burgers and they were full of taste. Highly recommended

Me and my husband are making this one of our fave spots to eat from now. Food is just YUMMY!! And they look after you and remember their customers , theres one lady who always remembers us and remembers my hubby has a allergy of eggs so always tells us what to try etc. Its good when someone pays attention. I had been here previously before visiting again in February, both times I found the restaurant cold, but during one of the visits they moved a heater close to me which was lovely. The service is really great and the servers are lovely, but unfortunately the burgers are average. Good for Birmingham, but for someone who lives between Birmingham and London and travels frequently into London for food, it was a little disappointing. The patty lacked seasoning and the quality of the meat was average.

Not even average burgers. I really didnt enjoy my sultan burger. Had a few bites and was put off by lack of flavour and the fact of how costly it was.... Looking at the past reviews i was expecting something divine. The food seemed fresh but nothing spectacular. I have had much better tasting brioche buns at loaded gourmet burgers in Ilford- London with the best tasting burger ever. I have never seen chicken tenders of that size. Thinner strips would have been nice. They were monster chicken stips given to the children. Peppercorn sauce tasted nothing like a real peppercorn sauce! Ferrero rocher shake was really nice, as were the best tasting fries. However everything else seemed not worth the money. Portion sizes were huge however. Service was amazing and very attentive and decor was nice too. It really could be a smashing place, but I feel all these excellent reviews are from those who know not much with regards to flavourful gourmet burgers!!!

I visited tru burger having read their reviews but when I got there it was not that good.I ordered the nachos which were disgusting and then I ordered the burger which came with chips.The chips were as hard as rock even when they came freshly made and apparently the reason being was that their supplier had given them the wrong chips they even could've given me discount off my bill but they said no.Now to the burger first of all it was over priced like £10 pounds per burger and secondly the oil was dripping out of the burger which made it soggy and disgusting lastly in of the the burgers my family was eating we found raw meat in it so she went back and made it again and took ages.The only good thing to eat there was the butterfly chicken.

Average quality, Look for some better places for Burger. Not much variety, Chicken steaks were worst. Kids enjoyed only fries.

Having visited TruBurger with friends & family on several occasions I must say their burgers are delicious. I am can tell the owners know how to create the perfect burger. Originally went here as it was recommended the best burger place in Birmingham. Which it definitely is! Food arrived promptly, atmosphere was good, staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was filling and very tasty, burger buns soft and by far the best burger Ive ever had.

Had a lovely jubbly timehands down the best burgers in town.Fries were a bit cold but didn't really bother me. Good job to the waiters for being so helpful

I came back here after a while as I've heard they've added HMC Aberdeen Angus steak to their menu. I really enjoyed their burgers last time I came so this time we went for a rib eye and tbone. In brief, the flavour, presentation, meat quality and tenderness was just sublime. The steak is a must try.. first time I've thoroughly enjoyed a steak in bham. Served with vine tomatoes, flat mushroom, peppercorn sauce or beef gravy. Mash potato or steak chips. I frequently travel far and wide for a good steak and usually get disappointed unless I'm in meat co (ldn) or rump n ribs (mcr). I hope the standards here remain the same when I return because it's definitely raised the bar in bham.

Visited with friends and children. It took them over half an hour to even take our orders. We had to go to the till and place our order ourselves in the end, despite requesting twice before for someone to take our orders. The food however was excellent. We enjoyed the burgers and chips. Great to have a halal burger place where you can enjoy good food

Cannot knock the food here, everything is tasty and unique to it's marination. Was a good homely place to have a birthday meal.

This a great place. Clean and spacious, nice decor. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was great. The burgers were amongst the best I've eaten. The servings are huge and we could not finish our portion. Particular worthy of a mention is their Chicken Wings with Hot Sauce as well as their special sauce, mmm delicious. Chips are not the standard McCann type but good quality home made type with skins on. Worth making the trip to their location. Excellent value for money too.

I have been here at least four times. On all occasions the burgers selected have been tasty and very filling. Portion sizes I thought were huge. Plenty of chips to accompany the massive burger. The prices were very good too. A lot of food for your money. The staff on all occasions were brilliant with our 1 year old son. He was able to run around and the staff were great at keeping him entertained so he didn't run off!
