Big John's Highgate in Birmingham

Worst Big Johns in Birmingham- almost triggered my sons ALERGIES!!! 😠 I was greeted with the most miserable lady, who looked disinterested. I ordered 3 burger meals and 3 chicken meals. I specifically asked for no Mayo on one of the burgers, as my son is allergic to eggs.After a 25 minute wait - 7 customers came in after me and left with their food- she the proceeded to give me one chicken meal less. Once this was rectified I confirmed the ‘no mayo’ burger and she lazily pointed to it saying ‘there’. I asked for my taco sauces and she tried to give me 1. I asked the other 2 and she made it like she was doing me a favour. To top it off, I got home and there was CHILLI AND MAYO on the the burger. As my son is allergic to eggs he couldn’t eat the burger and we had to order him food from elsewhere. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!!

Food was really nice, and packaging was splendid. Really appreciate the effort.

Brilliant for the peri chicken was fantastic vinegar wasn’t enough on chips or they forgot to put on apart from that really nice

Will never order from here again. Placed an order for £35 pounds worth of fish and chips. Fish was just batter with tiny thin slice of fish and chips were undercooked. Awful. Overpriced rubbish

Always good food from Big Johns.

Food cold, leak coming from ceiling and water going on seating and table. Staff on their phone and not cleaning up tables for anyone to sit down. Air con on full and was cold. No receipt either.

Walked 20 mins to the restaurant but it was closed early. Very disappointing. Supposed to close at 11pm but was closed at 10.30pm when I arrived there.

Wrong order received ordered 20inch garlic base paid extra for garlic base but still received tomato base. Not the best experience.

forgot my drink even tho I specifically told them to not forget my drink. took ages, tried to call the restaurant but was on hold for 2,3 mins then cut off multiple times. aweful

I normally go to this big johns on my break times at Joseph Chamberlain College I'm a year 1 student stuck in matrix I'll be out once I finish college but boss man always respects me and I give respect back that's how it works plus what ever motu is reading this go and do 250 push ups a day trusss and use that money to buy healthier food like protein and eat meats train hard burn fat and gain body mass and drink sparkling water it helps with the body cleans waste out and invest in your self goal

Best fish & chip I’ve had in a long time.

Ordered mix donner with naan, donner meat had some nice chargrilled flavour and naan was so fluffy and tasty. Period !

sadly chips luke warm ,and no mint sauce on the kebab....a shame

Lovely staff always nice clean food and tastes good as well. Went here again 12.09.24 has to be one of my favourite places, they are not tight with sauces happily put it on chips unlike other big John's, food and chips lovely as always

Avoid this place as the Staff lie to your face. Ordered SFC for Child and get home and it uneatable and Crisp /Dry oiled to the rim. Complain to Arsad Ahmed Big Johns and asked for evidence that has been over 2 weeks and radio silence keep chasing and nothing. Jokes

I brought some food from this place on Friday late evening before they shut when I placed my order and they guy gave me the food it was the wrong food I don't live in Birmingham I live in North Oxfordshire so on the weekend when I was off I opened one of the foods there were similar to large potato fritters totally tasteless as well the bill equated to almost £55 but it was absaloutly rubbish to the amount of money I paid and partly the wrong order so I am completely disappointed and angry and will warn others to avoid from this place as well as the gentleman I believe just wanted to sell his stock that was not selling or placed it in customers who haven't been there or are new and not the regulars. I partly dined in the and the dinner we ordered to eat in was OK not fantastically great but the order was wrong.

Disgusting and staff lie to your face blatantly. I asked for. SFC and after a long drive home opened the box and the chicken was old more than hours and non eatable. Contacted Big Johns and they acknowledge. Not heard back for a week. Avoid or inspect food before leaving shop !!!!

chips were cold. pizza had hardly any toppings on it just sauce and cheese. I ordered deep pan but the pizza was really thin and cold. they forgot to bring the drink

Ice cream was completely melted as though it had not been frozen prior delivery

The food all tastes great but I ordered the boneless southern fried and got bone chicken

portion size is poor ,chips where minimal and the fish and batter was chewy . the mushy peas came in small pot usually for sauce. That big johns is not even a quarter mile from my house yet it took over an hour for 1 fish and chips and the delivery fee is £3.95

I want to express my gratitude to Big John for their consistently excellent service. The staff at Big John are always very polite and display great manners, making each visit a pleasant experience. I particularly love the chips at Big John – they are amazing most of the time! My son is also a big fan of the wings. Thank you, Big John, for your great service and delicious food. Keep up the fantastic work!

Visited this Big Jonathans branch on my way to the centre of el city. I thought I'd pop in and see what the kerfuffle is all about. Their food is pretty good especially the Panini. It's not overpriced like some places. The tangy sauce hits the right spots and dances on your pallet after every bite.

Food quality gotten worse from before, 2nd time I ordered from here and I’ve been served brown stale chips! All the food taste like the cardboard packaging it comes in. Really need to improve

I’m very disappointed in the order today I payed nearly 50 pound for food to open our fasting and the chips was very bad black eyes through all of them I’m very disappointed 😔

Ordered a donar kebab and was literally the worst kebab I have ever been given.. pretty sure it came out of a microwave.. the salad was non existent.. the least amount of chilli sauce possible and looked as far from the picture on their website as you can get.. I strongly recommend you steer clear from this place

They always manage to mess up orders please please people check your order before leaving the Highgate branch because the woman serving is useless !!! Tried calling to complain THREE TIMES but they hang up on you ! Very very irate customer !!!

Donna meat was a little dry. And crispy. Which was a bit of a surprise as it is usually fresh and juicy. Must have had an off day.

I am a regular customer and the food Always tastes good! Today i requested a pizza slice in the notes as there wasn’t an option to buy and i just want to say a big thank you for taking it in to consideration. They also added chips!! I was charged for it (as i requested to be) but i appreciate the fact that they looked at the notes and took it in to consideration as not many restaurants do so thank you once again!

Unfortunately I received the wrong order- I was accidentally given yhe wrong order of fish kebab and chips when I ordered 2 piece chicken meal When i realised it was too late to contact.

Food quality was so good I love it.it's was so delicious and yummy 😋.

They forgot stuffed crust and got charged for it. Base bread was unusually hard ?old dough. Would not recommend and will not be ordering from them again unfortunately

I ordered cucumber only and got onion only which kinda ruins the taste of the food but its alr I mean I understand that they might get busy and confused

Food was not tasty naan was all soggy with salad poorly put. Chicken was not cooked in manner like peri peri should be. Won’t be ordering that again.

Deep pan pizza with tandoori chicken tastes great, will recommend to family and friends.

Always cheap and good quality items. The pizzas are good and come in a wide variety of sizes. Recommend the wraps and burgers. Fish and chip are the best items on the menu.

Honestly disgusting food quality for the whole order but the drinks and ice cream were edible as they were pre packaged. Would not recommend and serious quality check is needed. I spoke to the manager and he’s said he didn’t check the order and food would have been over done. He also said to ask JustEat for a refund for the order as he’s unable to issue one.

Piping hot packed with care delivered with a service with a smile and brought to the door. The chips were just so nice and clean perfectly cooked as well as the batter on the southern fried chicken the mixed kebab in pitta bread is packed with a large portion of meat again piping hot, nice tomato salad, full of flavour

Way too much lemon on the chicken. The chips were not fresh. The chips look like they were the last of a batch. I woukd not use this store again.
