They don’t even deserve one star , as we usually go to this restaurant but they are very disrespectful towards customers, they don’t even care about regular customers last time we had food in July 2024 and when we finished we ask to pack the food we left, and they bring food container and foil wrap to us front of other customers families and they said pack it yourself not even pack put in containers and foil wrap it and take it . Like we was beggars??….. no that’s unacceptable behaviour. And then we ask for the water for child and they said you have to pay for water it’s not free And when we got water from outside they get angry on it . They are very rude , very bad service and disrespectful. And please don’t take out there food as well specifically chicken kharhai as we got and it was smelling bad . Like unhealthy uncooked and smells like old stuffed.

It's an amazing place to eat. Food was very nice and delicious, service was brilliant and atmosphere was booming with people.

Avoided this place like the plague for years due to their never changing zero food hygiene. Recently, on a whim I looked at their rating and was surprised to see it was a 4. Decided to visit. The place has been refurbished to a high level, serious moolah has been spent on this by the look of things. I purchased chapel kebab, naan (neither of these pictured) and the masala fish shown in the image. The kebabs are quite nice, naan is fine but the fish wasn’t too good. Will defo try the kebabs again when I have a craving. On a side note the body language of the staff wasn’t good - pretty grim faced and despondent.

Food was just ok but mismanaged staff disturb during dinner. Couldn't eat in peace.

Meat is boiled, and Karahi is made in 5 mins for takeaway and tastes like it. They have boarded the open kitchen, so now you can't see what they are up to.

Water isn't free. They used to have a jug of water that was free and now they're suddenly charging a £1 for 500ml of water. Other than that, food is good.

What a lovely service. Excellent food. We were in the area and decided to pop in for dinner. Tried the Lamb charsi karahi, Sindhi biryani, mash daal and naan bread. Desi tea was awesome. Thank you Haris for a great service. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try. Great food and reasonable prices. Keep it up team.

We had Lamb Sajji. Taste wise its average meat was nicely tender, but the thing i noticed that all the spice was not deep in the meat.

Amazing quality chapal kebabs, and amazing fresh naan. Mutton karahi is a hit or miss sometimes.

First time here and NEVER AGAIN! This restaurant was recommended to me by someone I know, which makes it worse. There is a separate area for ladies/families which is good. There are separate toilets for men/women and were in a surprisingly good state. Staff cannot speak English very well but they should ask which language the diner speaks as to find common ground. The food itself was fairly tasty but not flavoursome enough for me and somewhat bland. No complimentary water that is often found in most restaurants. Mixed grill had seekh kebabs that were similar to supermarket frozen versions. The fries were decent and a big portion. The mixed grill portion was small considering price. The food was very average like it was prepared by a college kid on a food preparation course. We ordered a lamb charsi karahi and sat there for almost 30 minutes. I got up and asked the waiter and he said it is ready by the till. He ridiculously advised that he thought we wanted it as a takeaway! Not once was I informed that it was ready. I complained and the guy on the till advised he was sorry and refused to admit fault and confirmed that it will be better next time. He only said sorry when I said that there definitely WON'T BE A NEXT TIME! PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND ESPECIALLY TIME WITH THESE AMATEURS! If I could give zero stars I would!

Was given quite a small table when seated and all food did not really fit on tale very busy place but the food is excellent best lamb chops I have had and kahbli pilow is a must. When it comes to payment you have to que for what we eat the price was reasonable.

Worst food taste and poor service

Incredible food! It's freshly cooked, well marinated, very tasty and with excellent service. It's not as upmarket as some other eateries but in terms of taste, it is the one of the best restaurants in Birmingham. The charsi tikka and karahis are particularly good. Highly recommend.

Visiting the UK and cousins took me to this desi restaurant in Birmingham. The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. Big and clean place. Not very family friendly, but you can try as we were there pretty late hours. (Update) Visiting UK again and went back last night. Great food.

Amazing traditional Pershwai food

I drove here all the way from Wales to try some authentic food. Khyber restaurant did not disappoint. The staff were brilliant. First time i had a freshly made Afghani naan since 1993. Absolutely loved the experience.

Food portions have gone smaller. Service is non existent and it’s very noisy in there too. Food quality was good…other than that nothing else positive to say.

Love this afgani restaurant famous for the chapli kebabs and most afgani dishes. Parking could be a problem alam rock is a very busy rd. Normally come to this restaurant when we go to Birmingham. Always look forward to it.

Hey, so I had dinner with my family here, and everyone absolutely loved the food. Atif was our server, and he was amazing! He made sure everything was hot and came out on time. I'm definitely coming back again.

It was so busy, lots of people came after a cricket match. After about an hour we got to sit down at the back in the family area. It was so hot and smokey (food smokey). We gave our order, after 30 mins enquires only to be told 10 mins. 15 mins later initial waiter asked if we’d all ready eaten, he was so confused. We said we haven’t had anything except the salad which we caned. He was so apologetic, and our food came within 15mins. It was amazingly tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed it. They forgot to give us the third drink but they realised and took it off the bill. They apologised again. And told us to take pics with the cricket player. Expect a wait, but it’s worth it. Amazing food

Great service and the behaviour of the staff. In last they offered the green tea with almonds. I was served by Atif and he was such a nice guy and treated as a VIP customer.

There was shortage of fans, was hot and humid, owner is making good profits, place is always busy need to invest in the place put in some air conditioning on asap. Good on weekends is not as good as week days actually due to being busy.

Food is amazing specially chicken charsi karahi… and staff is very friendly and polite.. Atif was serving at at table he is an amazing man 👍🏻

Been there to buy the food, food was looking amazing as I went to the counter what I saw is the person on the counter is packing people food and putting his four fingers in his mouth getting wet with spit and opening bags and touching food and salad trays so I come out without buying anything.

I want to share my recent visit experience. Unfortunately, the food quality was poor, and the staff were rude and unhelpful. It felt unfair how some customers were treated better than others. One of them was very unprofessional his name is Haris, and he needs a customer service course to treat customers well.

*AVOID* SINCE THE RENOVATIONS. THE NEW STAFF ARE ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. MADE ME WAIT 1 HOUR FOR PILAU RICE FOR TAKE-OUT. THEN LIED EVERYTIME, "10 mins more", considering ordered before Iftari. They didn't even offer anything to help open my fast. This used to be my regular place. Definitely NOT going back.

Last week's dinner was enjoyable, but I was disappointed by the staff's behaviour and the quality of service. Additionally, I noticed that the kitchen area wasn't properly maintained.

The worker was really rude. Even though I don't know his name for sure, someone called him Haris. He was impolite, didn't have good manners, and his service was really bad. They are always looking for tips and treating those customers well and on time.

The prices are economical and taste is very good

Chapli kabab were decent. Reminds me of original flavour. Location was very challenging to park etc.service was okish the staff was fine but afghani tikka wasn't great meat was slightly over chewy. Overall if you are very local you can have it but since I went from London to explore Birmingham food I won't recommend to go for them. Only 1 place I would travel again but won't name here as it would look promotion and I am just doing it for my love for food.
