A beautiful cafe, lovely staff and great food. There’s really not much else to add. If your looking for a bite to eat, I highly recommend Troy! Thanks for the service.

Lovey cute little cafe, feels like you are abroad. Delicious authentic Turkish food (sujuk is so tasty). Service and quality of food is always amazing when I go. Defo recommend you stopping by. The turkish tea is really good too ☺️

Breakfast with a friend, Scottish breakfast & Troy breakfast ordered. Struggled to finish, food freshly prepared, presentable and tasty. Staff are lovely, friendly and relaxed environment. Defiantly recommend if in the Haymarket area. Value for money.

I just stopped by before my train at Haymarket. It’s a lovely place not only for breakfast but also for a coffee. I’ve tried Turkish breakfast which was very good. The manager offered me Turkish tea from the house. Its taste was quite good. If you are looking for a place nearby Haymarket don't hesitate to go to Troy :)

Whether you're heading to a Hearts game in Gorgie, or a rugby or concert at Murrayfield, Troy Cafe is the place to visit en route! The food is fresh and extremely moreish and the service is the best in town!!!

The place was very cold (we went in January, it felt like there was no heating). Friendly and attentive staff, fast service. However, food was not great, and I was disappointed that the avocado wasn't fresh but a ready- shop bought avocado spread.

Don’t sleep on Troy - amazing food, Turkish coffee and the service is second to none. Absolute must visit and only a 2 minute walk from Haymarket train station.

The food and atmosphere are good, though me and friend were placed near the big windows during winter. Which was made us shiver while eating. The interior is very nice with interesting decor. I recommend going in summer.

Stopped by Troy based off of how it looked on Google and it definitely lived up to what I was hoping for. Not only was the breakfast delicious, but it was served quickly and the server was very friendly. Great place for breakfast, especially if you're already heading towards the train station.

The food was delicious It's a simple breakfast, its location is nice, but the father, I think he was the restaurant manager, while we were sitting for about half an hour, he was shouting at the male and female workers. His voice was annoying and the situation was not worth all that. We took a cup of coffee out because of him. I hope the workers will be respected, they are hardworking.

Nice enough staff but their menu is a little exaggerated on what you actually get. Their four cheese macaroni is actually just McIntosh Macaroni you get from the ready meal aisle in supermarkets and the ‘best cuts of meat’ beef burger is the thinnest cheapest frozen burger.

Came across this rustic cafe for breakfast. We had the full Scottish breakfast and it was delicious. The coffee is also good & the service was excellent and a great place to watch the world walk by.

This place is such an awesome find. We were heading for the vegan restaurant, almost opposite and we saw that Troy was advertising gluten free. The owner was very accommodating of my dairy and Gluten intolerances. Great food and customer service. Such a pretty building too and just a short walk from Haymarket.

Early morning train deposited me at Haymarket very late morning in a very hungry condition. This was the first place I saw and knew I needed to act decisively to get a seat before Hearts and Rangers fans arrived in the area for the season opener. Staff very friendly. I knew wanted the Scottish breakfast. This was my first really positive tatty scone experience with all of the other goodness you could want. Nice latte alongside. No photos as I demolished the lot quickly. I sat closest to the kitchen but well ventilated and I exited without acquiring any cooking smells!! Pretty decent price too. Did the trick and fueled the inner man for the luggage drop-off, walk into town and afternoon at the Fringe.

Rather bizarre lunchtime experience with the only pro (thankfully) being how tasty & cheap the food was! Despite being told twice by the owner, the waiter unfortunately forgot to inform the kitchen of the gluten free nature of my order and the roll had to be remade. Was a very tense moment being served something that was obviously bread. I decided to ignore cross contamination concerns just this once so I wasn't late getting back to work. I hope my dietician doesn't find this review. Aside from the occasional member of staff going out for their break, I was alone in the restaurant with the owner who was having a rather invigorating disagreement with someone via his Airpods. I had never wanted to learn Turkish more in my life. If I wasn't so excited by drama, I'd have been very uncomfortable indeed. I would only recommend this place to you if you're, like me, broke as hell and don't mind shouting or dysfunction.

What a great find. Excellent service the food was all one of the best meals we have had in the UK! The best coffee too. The server was so kind and went above and beyond for us a party of 8. Excellent fresh food. The fish and chips best we had so far.

Great place close to Haymarket station. Ate here while on holiday with my family celebrating my mom's 60th birthday. Food was great and we got to try a traditional Scottish breakfast. We were a party of 6 and everyone had a meal and a beverage (tea, coffee, orange juice). Very reasonable prices for great food. Staff was really friendly and attentive. 10/10 would go again!

Stayed near Haymarket for a couple of days and had coffee every morning at Troy, a wonderfull spot to start the day, lovely people, great atmosfeer and delicious coffee! Would definitely recommend! (P.S. The waiter (mister blue eyes) your knitted cardigan with the dark blue diamond on the back was stunning, where did you get that, asking for a friend)

100 better than Ryrie's. Nice relaxed place for a quick bite to eat. Went with 2 kids. Chicken burger v nice. Good soul music, tv on showing the tennis. Nice lad with nice eyes that works there. Decent pricing.

Good breakfast and lovely Scottish man Bob (if I m not mistaken) who was nice and professional with the service. The owner (I presume - Turkish guy) was a bit arrogant and loud most of the time. To also a point of asking “did you pay”, while I was leaving with a “thank you”.

I have ordered Turkish style sucuk and eggs, the presentation is absolutely better than all the Turkish breakfast places, Sigara boregi was delicious as well, I will definitely come again, relaxing and classy music playing inside, I’m speechless

I came here yesterday and I ordered a Turkish breakfast and it was absolutely delicious- lots of variety and very filling. It cost about 12 pounds. I also ordered a cappuccino which was about 3 pounds and the cup is huge which makes it much more affordable than other places nearby. Today I came back for some Turkish tea and guess what it was complementary. They did not charge me a single pound! Such a lovely experience, good food and wonderful staff!! Very recommended and definitely coming back especially with such a great location right next to the bus stop and train station.

Really disappointed. Falafel wrap was tasteless and just mushy (I had to just eat the hummus). We got rushed to order food within 90 second of sitting down (hadn't even finished reading the second column of the venue) and when asked for the bill they just brought a card machine with a number pre-programmed instead of a bill. So we couldn't even cross-check the total. Such a disappointing last meal in Edinburgh after a weekend of great food and great service

Fantastic place with an vintage atmosphere. A little gem nearly Haymarket Station to enjoy a really nice English/Scottish/Full Breakfasts. They does not have teapots so I do not really enjoy the tea which become way to quickly cold and also the attention for the customer is a little bit dispersive. But the food is amazing. Worth a try

Great bacon rolls & coffee, friendly service, excellent value & quirky decor

The place is really nicely decorated and although a bit small, it has a nice cosy feel to it. The food is tasty and a good portion size. The staff are so lovely and we were given a free lemon, ginger and apple drink which was also delicious. Would recommend.

Lovely staff/owner. We were in a hurry and the owner walked us to a next door place which served us as we needed.

Ordered the chicken 'burger' with bacon, cheese, onion and chips. It was £15.50 and terrible, regardless of the price. I ate a few things and went to pay the bill in about 45 seconds. Never done that before when eating out. Chips were cold, unseasoned, likely frozen. Burger roll was small, cold and poor quality. It was a soft morning roll, the type which is worth about 25p as part of a supermarket 4 -pack. Not suitable for a burger. The cheese was in square form and wasn't fully melted. Cheap and poor quality. Bacon was cold. Chicken 'burger' wasn't actually a burger, it was just chunks of fried chicken added to the overfilled roll. Chicken was falling out of it, so I couldn't even pick it up. Had to ask for cutlery, but that was pointless since I ate basically nothing. Was seated outside next to a chain smoker - enjoyed getting all the ashes blown into me

A lovely restaurant with local and Turkish food options. I opted for the Turkish breakfast, which was quite delicious. I really liked the taste of sucuklu yumurta and the turkish tea. They even have simit on the menu. The owner - Murat and the staff were very friendly. He also shared some touristic tips with us.

Honestly this place is absolutely brilliant! Went to this little cafe this morning after reading the reviews. What can I say! We were there at 9am and were greeted with a smile. We ordered the troy breakfast, cannot tell you how much I recommend this! My partner got some orange juice and the first thing out of his mouth was "they're not stingy on the portions". I ordered the hot chocolate. When I was drinking it after my meal he even offered to reheat it for me! Whilst we were eating we also saw the chef come out and hand deliver a plate down the road - love to see that the neighbours are supporting local business! It's so lovely that me and my partner are off again in the morning to start our day out in Edinburgh right!
