It was ok but nothing to push the boat out for. My daughter wanted chicken tikka panini but apparently had no tikka, I asked for a sandwich on brown bread cake but they had no brown bread cakes left. Really?? And this was only just after noon. Nothing special about the ham sandwich which all in all tasted bland. The dog ate most of it.

A great selection of cakes! We enjoyed a selection as part of our picnic taken to Berwick. The Chocolate Japs were a new thing to try.

Have tried this bakers a few times since moving to Alnwick, always like to support a local business. The cakes always look a bit anemic to be honest and not too appetising. I had a pasty in which I could hardly find the filling and more recently a cake that was stale and dry. They are actually quite expensive so I had thought that the food would be decent. I had such high hopes reading a few reviews and have discovered some lovely bakers in Northumberland and just over the borders. This one certainly isn't one of them.

They do the most wonderful Russian cake, which is usually really hard to find anywhere. The rest of the cakes aren't that great though and can sometimes be stale.

Had to throw away a French Fancy after I managed to crack open this cake. Icing was hard and stale, sponge dry and the stomach currsling "artificial cream' was like something I haven't encountered since the 1960s.

We bought far far too many cakes - and ate them all! I can particularly recommend the "diamond" ones and the fondant fancies are amazing - if you need a sugar rush to equal none other.

After reading the reviews on Trotter in Alnwick we decide to get a take away lunch and eat in the park, what am mistake that was. My husband had a scotch pie I had quiche and we chose some cakes, with two take away coffees. Most of it was thrown in the bin the scotch pie was burnt the cheese and onion quiche was raw and runny the cakes were hard and dry, the best bit was then coffees which took an age to come out of the machine, expected so much more from a bakers that’s been there years, should have crossed the road and used Greggs instead.

I tend to look at local bakeries when holidaying in an area. Having not had a scotch pie for some time I was shocked to see them in the window of this Alnwick bakery. I bought a range of pasties and cakes - all very tasty. We are it all. Will go again.

Awesome little traditional sandwich shop and bakery, Food made freshly on the premises. Had a meat pasty from there today and can tell you there was real nice chunks of beef unlike the ones available from nationally known "G" rival across the road. In my opinion if your visiting the town and want a simple sandwich, pie or cake this is a far better option

Used this store for years, moved to the area 8 years ago, products are still good but service has become terrible. Now always seems some drama more interesting for staff to talk about then deal with customers and always at top of the voice. Was there 2 weeks ago and shall not be going back, pity as they serve good quality products as a rule

The north of England is sorely lacking in family bakeries, so I always jump at the chance whenever I see one. Was not disappointed, I got a chocolate cupcake, a French fancy and a Viennese whirl, all were devoured. Yum.

This is a small independent bakers shop in the centre of Alnwick town. They sell a reasonable range of breads and cakes and the scones are very pleasant. Service is excellent - speedy and friendly. I often come here as I think it very good to support the smaller outlets in town rather than the big supermarket chains.

We had lunch here in the Seahouses branch. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We both had different versions of quiche, which are made from the base of pies filled with a quiche filling. What a great idea - the perfect size for lunch which was served with a fresh salad. We then had a cake each, both very good. The food had a real family bakers feel to it and was very reasonably priced.

We were travelling through Seahouses and stopped at Trotter Bakery, initially for a coffee and a bun, but their breakfast items looked so tempting both my husband and I decided to have a big breakfast, it was beautiful, so tasty, and so reasonable. The staff were very kind and helpful it was a pleasure to be there. We left buying bread (beautiful stotties), and cakes, 6 little fancies, needless to say they were very good as well. We would recommend this Bakery.

Possibly the worst lunch I've had in Alnwick yet! My tuna, onion, mayo and cheese toastie is a mess, filling all over the sides of the toastie and no flavour, excepting the horrid bright orange cheese that resembles that American stuff in a can, and lumps of onion so large they could sink a fleet of small ships. Positioned opposite Greggs, you think that they'd at least attempt to compete. Its only saving grace was that it's probably the cheapest place to get lunch in Alnwick. Well, it'd have to be if it can't even manage a simple toastie.

We had coffee in the Seahouses branch several times during our recent holiday in the village. Granny Trotter's secret recipe cake is to be recommended. Don't dismiss it as Christmas cake, even though it is similar in appearance as it is very tasty. Coupled with friendly staff, fast service and value for money it is the perfect stop for a morning coffee.

We were delighted when we saw there was a family bakers in Alnwick...thoughts of freshly baked bread daily, the wafts of the baking tickling our nostrils...mouth watering devine! But NO the bread we were told was baked daily at Seahouses at the main bakery and brought into Alnwick, the cakes although looking delicious tasted stale were made with synthetic cream urgh an expensive mistake costing 90p'ish each we would've been better off purchasing a box of Mr Kiplin's in the supermarket!A true disappointment to say the least!Family bakers are dying establishments and are very rare to stumble upon, we were over the moon to find one during our visit. However I'm sure where's there's a waft of delicious baking bread more footfall would enter the premises.....Bring back on-site baking to Trotters in Alnwick!!!!

Large chain, standard menu offerings, busy, noisy setting, but good sea views, nice outside area. Food came quickly once managed to order at the busy bar. Burger sauce was the best item. Small burger Pattie, creamy coleslaw, hubby had monkfish scampi, bit over battered. Both sets of chips under cooked, when we were asked how our meal was, our reply was just received with blank stare and no response before waiter cleared our plates and left! Buffet breakfast the following morning as we expected! Basic sausages, overcooked black pudding, the bacon, mushrooms and hash browns ok, had run out of baked beans, but at least you could order different eggs if didn’t fancy fried.

The staff were really great and so busy. The whole place was clean and tidy. No traffic noise and a good view from bedroom windo. The rooms were fine, nice white bedding and very white towels. Would certainly stay again. We had dinner in the restaurant well presented meal. Breakfast good with choice and lots of fruit. Thank you for making our stay good.
