Will never order from here again, ordered food at 630 and at 830 still not here, called the restaurant who confirmed it has been dispatched but very busy, i asked they call the driver and told not possible as he doesnt have handsfree or bluetooth-Load of bull! Left it a further 15 mins and phoned again but they hung the phone up on me so phoned just eat and they phoned the restaurant who refused to phone the driver until just eat insisted and coinsidentally the driver didnt answer. It turnt up at 9pm, really didnt want to eat it that late-Will never order from here again and advise people to go elsewhere!!!

The food was amazing. I used to come here when I was called tropical spice now its called paprika so I was a bit skeptical at first but thankfully the food was amazing as before when it was called tropical spice no problems at all with the food it was great so defintley recommeded.

I went in with couple of my friends the food was amazing the service was great also. I never heard of this place before so I decided to go and i wasn't disapointed definitely recommended.

Will not order from here again. From the time we placed the order, we waited 3 hours for food. We called the restaurant and were lied to about the status of the food. We were told it was with the delivery guy. When I asked what time the delivery guy left, he hung up on me. I then contacted JustEat, who contacted the restaurant. They were told the food has just been prepared and was being packed. We still waited for ages after this. The food wasn't that great when it came... Mediocre at best.

I have ordered few days before, the paratha was raw, hope the chef forgot how to cook paratha. The delivery came in 95 minutes. Its just complete waste of money. If you are ordering PARATHA, please don,t order from them.

Ordered from here and food was supposed to arrive at 8pm showed up in the app as delivered when it hadn't been , call them at 8.30pm and they say its not left yet only to wait an extra half an hour for no food to turn up, rang back and they say we never answered the phone.. Eventually food arrived 2hours and 10minutes after order was placed and the food was practically ice cold so had to be warmed up and had missed out part of the order!! Safe to say I will never be placing an order here ever again and for the sheer rudeness of the people on the end of the phone I will never recommend

finally arrived well over 1 hour and 45 minutes late! I rang twice and all I got was "we are very busy sorry" - thats simply not good enough. It was their problem, and they made it mine. You simply dont do that as a business. I will not be going there again. Food finally arrived and was adequate at most. The meat in my biryani tasted a week old. Very VERY disappointed and will not be returning. Also apalling customer service on the phone.

Certainly won't be rushing back. When we arrived we find new name on the door so whether it's recently changed hands or just name change.. Food was just not upto any standard... Cheap supermarket wine.. Paper napkins.. Im not a snob but just the whole overhaul look of the place just needed going over.. Its now called paprika...

Went last night at 1.15 ish. And finally got our food an hour later. So frustrating. They said had a few orders come in at the same time. We ordered a lassi, and water. Dispite asking several times we didn't get the water. The food was good, just didn't appreciate being there for 80-90 ish minutes... Means I got home at 3.40!!

I used to go Tropical Spice recently came back to find out it was called paprika but it was just re branded and thankfully it was the same owners so I instantly knew the food was going to be great so there is no worry at all definitely recommended

Great food and friendly service. No heating though so chilly at first. However I warmed up nicely during my meal.

A smell of damp as we entered should have put us off but we gave it a try anyway. A cheap price but that was refelected in the food which was below average.

Sólo un chico joven (que era agradable) que esperar mesas, así que afortunadamente sólo otros 4 restaurantes. Nosotros sentimos que 3 de nuestras comidas cumplió con nuestras expectativas, pero le faltaba el Jalfrezi cuestionando el nivel de especias que se asocia con este plato. Usted puede tomar su propio alcohol y los precios están ansiosos. Le cenar allí de nuevo pero de relieve las expectativas jalfrezi.

Used to love it from here. Ordered last night and delivery man was rude. And yes it's only 40p but he walked off with my change and didn't even ask if I wanted it. What's worse is it all tasted strange. I thought nothing of it because it was 2am... but then eating my keema rice I knew something was wrong. All night I've been awake throwing my guts up. Never again shall I order from here.

I love this Indian restaurant. It's my favorite eat out and eat in. It's on just eat. Great friendly staff. Also kid friendly 😊

Surprisingly lovely food, far surpasses the location (Stourbridge high street). Great service by friendly and attentive staff. We arrived at 11pm and they didn't turn us away - most accommodating. Finished off with a fiery Sambuca. Superb!

A friend recommended tropical spice. So went last night the starters were very tasty ordered the chiefs special chicken Rajasthan and Omg it was worth every bite . from outside didn't look all that but once inside pleasantly surprised .

No hay mucho ambiente ya muy tranquila, pero estábamos en un jueves por la noche así que no una noche especialmente concurrida en cualquier lugar.

Hemos usado Tropical Spice para un largo tiempo para llevar y comidas, y siempre ha sido muy bueno por la comida y el servicio. Esta vez, sin embargo, las alas de pollo crudo y los poppadoms nos parecía la sobras de triturado los anteriores clientes. Cuando nos quejamos, y nos aconsejaron que tendríamos que esperar un par de días para hablar con el gerente sobre una restitución. Cuando arrimamos este era entonces de repente posible. Me and a colleague was staying in stourbridge, had a meal here, it was around 7:00pm, the stairs upto the restaurant let it down a little, but the restaurant inside is lovely, because it was early eve on a Wednesday night we had the restaurant to ourselves and we had great service and excellent food. Would definitely go back.

Me and my mum went here by chance on the way back from the bank. The food was tasty and the portion sizes were significant. The service was amazing, next levels standards ! Will definitely be visiting again.

Many years ago we went to Tropical Spice every week but things went down hill after the original owner sold up. We occasionally go back but the place always looked a bit tired and the food was best described as cheap and cheerful.We went back a few weeks ago and the restaurant and toilets had been decorated the food was excellent and the new staff were very friendly. We had a take away several days later and again the food was excellent, even my veggie wife who normally moans about the lack of choice was impressed

I've eaten here many times off and on over the years and have always found it to be good value for money with tasty food and a good variety, they even do a free delivery service now! Its conveniently located in the high street and stays open late as well. Licenced so you can drink too if you require it. They have set meal offers during the early part of the week to. Good all rounder with friendly staff

Great service ,very gentlemanly .fantastic food .came hot and before its due time, tasted out of this world .its the place to be for any occasional nights outs birthdays anniversarys etc .I'll give this place a 10 out of 10 and will recommend to anyone and everyone, thank you for a great night out , Kaytie n x

Everything here is blue. I had a mixed meat grill curry with pilau rice and two chapatis . Basically it was the odd bit of meat in a tomato rich sauce. It was not good but it was not bad. Service good. I had a pint of Kingfisher that smelt and tasted of eggs. They did not charge me for that. I would not come again.

After hitting Stourbridge town for more than a few beers the venues we visited was hit & miss, so we opted for curry time. As we expected we restaurant was empty well it was late. the waiters Ali & Kay was top notch really helpful, i asked for garlic chili chicken meal, asked if they could do it Dessi style & WOW i was blown away with the meal infused spices & kick of chilli was just up my street best meal ive had in a long time. credit to your team along with the chief .. see you again soon ..

It was a massive season the fight for promotion for our pro club and we did it, it was a great feeling we couldn't not celebrate. We found tropical spice as a suggestion from our captain and tactical genius but now a Indian takeaway picking genius. The staff were very friendly and service was very quick even though we had a fussy friend who messed about the order everything came perfectly. Words can't describe how tasty the food is! I'd recommend the tikka and the naan all cocked to perfection and comes out quickly! The room is stylish and fresh perfect for a celebratory meal.

Phoned at 7:30pm told I would have delivery in 40 minutes, an hour half later still no joy, kept phoning and was advised 5/6 minutes....avoid like the plague!

well what can i say after a great night out on the hight street we went to tropical spice for a curry. and OMG it was the best curry iv had in my life. the service was terrific and the staff made us feel very welcome. Overall this place is great and i highly recommend you check it out ;)

Nine people at short notice on a Friday evening at 8 p.m. Entry to premises looks dodgy but warm welcome when we got in. Efficient and friendly service. Everybody enjoyed their food. Not one moan. Total price with drinks looked like they had seriously undercharged us but no. Healthy tip as approval. I must qualify this review by saying that there was only one other couple as fellow customers. Thus hard for the two waiters and the kitchen to be anything but efficient. I wonder how busy it gets later in the evening when the pubs chuck out ?

The food is always nice here authentic Indian curry specially the rajestani fantastic flavour but bit too hot for me will try something less hot next time.

I visited with two friends on 14/11/2015, there were two tables in use, one with 6 or 7 people and a couple. After about twenty minutes these tables left leaving our table being the only table in use.It started ok, the waiter took our drinks order after a 5 mins wait. 10 mins later he arrived to ask if we wanted poppadums which we ordered. Now normally the waiter would have taken our entire order at this point. But no.So we then ate our poppadums and only a whole 10 mins after finishing did he take our main course order. Not sure if ordering starters would have added more complexity to the experience....Anyway, the other tables had disappeared by this point. We then waited 50 mins before our main courses arrived. I had to ask two or three times where the main courses were. And the apology was that they were taking too many deliveries tonight. So it seems sit down guests are not prioritised at all. The waiter was in charge of taking phone calls, (admittedly there were many delivery orders) and taking orders / fetching the food for sit-in guests. Absolutely crazy having one person doing all this for a Saturday night service. We threatened to pay for what we had eaten and leave and only then we seemed to get some activity.Really poor performance but the food when we finally got it was very nice, hence the two stars.Pick the service up Tropical Spice, or you customers will vote with their feet as we probably will. Or if you can't handle visiting guests, just do deliveries!

Stayed overnight in Stourbridge and came across this little gem on the high street. Was a little dubious , as from the street it's a Doorway with steps leading up to the restaurant , but once we was at the top it was fab , waiters very friendly , great atmosphere , delicious food & traditional. It's a shame we didn't know it was byo alcohol. The popadoms at first was soggy & soft but they replaced those with fresh crispy ones. The starters was very tasty & the mains were very authentic , overall delicious.

So I came to Tropical Spice with a few of my close friends, I heard from family that it was defiantly a great experience and atmosphere. Straightaway from the waiters I got a very positive welcome! Which is great and something you would expect in every restaurant. The food I got served was also fabulous, presentation was on point, everything was clean and I loved it. I recommend this place to others. am sure you will have an experience like mine :)

Nice for something a bit different as they do do tropicalStourbridge has loads of Indians so one is spoilt for choice but this is one of the better ones

I have got to say I don't normally go for mild dishes but the butter chicken was different to other restaurant I had I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'll be back next week

Upon arrival were greeted by very polite and friendly staff. I Really enjoyed my meal I had a lamb korai my wife had a chicken tikka masalla which cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place

Only curry house we could find within walking distance of Talbot Hotel. Didn't look promising. However food very good indeed. Wine limited although you can take in own bottle. Thoroughly recommend once you're over the threshold. Linen napkins and tablecloths always a good sign.

Myself and 4 friends visited here last night. The food wasn't bad, but I have tasted much better and also, my vegetarian masalla was too spicy. We ordered quite a few drinks and perhaps the management thought that they could pull a fast one, as when the bill arrived, I instantly could see that something wasn't quite right. The main meals were all listed OK, but there were lots of figures written in red pen at the top of the bill which I assume were for the drinks. After totting up the amount it just didn't add up. Also we noticed that we were being charged for drinks we hadn't ordered.After calling the waiter, he tried to add up the bill and blamed the problem on a new waiter. After much debate, he finally agreed to take £20 off the bill. So, be warned... Not a bad restaurant, but make sure you check the bill before paying!

If you wish to eat in a restaurant where you have loud piped music, surly staff and mediocre food then look no further.My first and last visit. We were the only diners three of us and we felt unwanted and a hindrance for the very surly staff member. There are numerous Indian restaurants in this area with deals 3 course from £7-9 a head. This meal well tiny tiny starter and a spoonful of ice cream which we had to ask for as part of the deal.We hadn't finished our poppadoms before the starters shoved on the table, chicken pakora size of popcorn chicken! The one saving grace of the entire meal a nice nan.We even got overcharged! It said 7.95 for 5 courses closer inspection of bill showed a 1.00 added for rice and nan which should have been included!

Went to Tropical Spice just to catch up with some friends, it was really welcoming and I loved my experience there- I would also recommend others to go to Tropical Spice. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed them selves, the service was also really good. It was an excellent value for money and quality food, it was great.

We have always enjoyed the choice and quality of dishes available at Tropical Spice, whether eating in or when ordering a delivery. However, the last few times we have ordered for delivery, items have been missing. Each time, we have had to telephone and ask why. Each time, the reason has been 'we're very busy' with no apology. Last Sunday, our delivery arrived with one and a half poppadoms (yes, one and a half?!) with no onion salad or sauces. After the last few times, my husband had specifically asked them to check everything was there. Sadly, that was the last time we would order food for delivery. A real shame as we have been loyal customers for years. Eat in = great. Delivery = poor.

Came with a few friends as i was told about this place by a family member. At first i was apprehensive until we walked in. The decor was inviting and we were greeted by a polite and friendly waiter. We ordered from the a la carte menu as there is a wider selection of dishes. As they are licensed much to our surprise we ordered drinks as well as our meal. The popadoms were well presented as well as the chutneys which were superb! Our starters were presented perfectly which reflected in the taste. Fresh and well cooked, better than most in the area despite the price being reasonably inexpensive. We then went for the special goat curry, chicken tikka love massala, Sicilian chicken and fatima murgh curry. What can i say, perfectly cooked as if i was having a curry made in india. Tasted fresh and out of this world! To conclude, its a must try for anyone who loves curry. Looks can be deceiving however the food is simply the best in the area by far. Thank you for a great time and i shall be back soon with more friends and family..

First time visit for a good friends birthday get together and we recieved excellent service throughout. Including a song & cake for the birthday girl. Also was given a warm reception definetly would recommend this restaurant for a night out.

Authentic Bangladeshi/ Indian food. Delicious recipes. Well presented, service was excellent. Food was lush. Really happy would the food and service. Will recommend to friends and family. Atmosphere very warmly. Definitely go back!!!

Went out on a wednesday with a couple of mates as we were walking down the high st we stumbled across this restaurant. At first we did not expect much from this place as to our surprise the quality of the food was at a very high standerd with fantastic service and very friendly staff, as i am regular restaranteer i have high expectations and this place is very high on my list. Il defernetly go again and il recommend it to anyone.

Set 5 course menu with a range of choice from very mild to very hot, nice seating and good service, can't fault it at all, recommend!

I was driving through high street in Stourbridge to pick up some money from Halifax cash machine and saw tropical spice my god! need to mentioned food was fantastic and definitely going back soon again.

We stumbled upon Tropical Spice on a recent short visit to Stourbridge. We'd originally planned a 'pub grub' meal, but found the nearby pub devoid of atmosphere or anything resembling 'service'.A middle aged couple were just entering the Indian restaurant and highly recommended it. They seemed like locals, so we went in. It wasn't apparent from the outside what to expect.£6.95 for four courses. We imagined there'd be some sort of catch, not much choice, very small portion, for example. We were absolutely delighted with everything. The food was delicious, the portions were ample, and the service was friendly and helpful.Definitely one of the best Indian meals we've ever had, definitely recommended. In fact we posted photos on our boating blog and challenged my husband's brothers in NZ and Australia to come and try their vindaloo - one of the hottest my husband's tasted without having to ask (which is normal in the southern hemisphere, very bland curries there in my experience).Fantastic place, we'll return when we're next in Stourbridge in March.Thank you.

We have eaten in and ordered delivery from Tropical Spice for years.The staff are helpful and friendly and happy to cater to individual requirements.The menu is excellent with a good range of dishes and a good selection of non-meat dishes with paneer as an alternative to just vegetables.The only downside is that our last two deliveries have taken an hour (expected withi 40-50mins) but the restaurant did add some extra goodies to apologise.

my wife and I visit tropical spice regularly for a curry and cannot fault the food, it is always appetising, tasty and fresh. the service can be a tad leisurely however the food always makes up for the wait. the food is always reasonably priced and the portions are generous. we started using tropical spice about 5 years ago and have had no reason to look elsewhere. we thoroughly recommend a visit.

I had been here 5 years ago and remember it being far better. My experience was terrible. The people serving were miserable not happy to help at all everything seemed to be too much trouble. The food was vile I could barely force it down as I don't like to leave food and look rude but in the end I had to leave it, I was then challenged by the waitress as to why I didn't want it. Frankly if I'm paying I believe I am entitled to leave what I want. The atmosphere was horrible and loud no chance of a quiet meal here - I will not be going back to tropical spice!

This place is so special,- nothing is too much trouble. Unbelievable Value for money. Fresh food , good service & quiet ambiance. I may well back go tomorrow!

Such nice food for such a small price! You can take your own wine or drink theirs for a moderate price. Great service and really airy on these hot summer nights. Beware of the Rajstani Chicken -take an extinguisher it's HOT but TASTY!🔥

Same menu as before, same price as before, unfortunately not the same cook as before, the food now is very bland no flavour and worst of all they use old vegetables in the sauces. I have only eaten in here a few times as I find I feel as though I am almost sitting on top of the people on the next table as it is rather small, so we tend to order take-aways from here and they are great! The food is always excellent and piping hot when arriving at your door and they always get the orders correct. The service is good but I do find that it takes rather a long time to get to you even when you live close. Definitely recommend for a take-away.

I used to go to this restaurant for a curry near 1 every 2 weeks - the value is amazing- theres no doubt about that - 4 courses for now £6.95 (7.95 on Fri/Sat). Me and my girlfriend normally share a rice , chips and buy a Nan from the menu separate.- Normally under £16.00 total. The restaurant has changed hands and in the time I've been going there , the Chefs have stayed the same but the waitresses and waiters has changed and for me its that lower the overall quality. Normally there's a waiter ( never really seen a waitress in a curry house in all the ones i've been in) but last night there was one - 17/07/13,didnt think nothing of it and was seated. -however this waitress has clearly no experience of serving and if she did , i pity the previous customers. We where not asked if wanted any drinks , glasses to start. left for ages to choose meals, when finally came we chose our starters and mains and then she proceeded to flog the deserts menu...!!!( even before anything has passed my lips) - menus then left on the tables when ordered until the starters came...( and i had to hand them to her) , again food is good and of good quality.. but considering there was only a total of 10 people in the restaurant ( and some where already on their main) we where still left waiting over an hour from point of ordering eating starters etc. she proceed to apologise far enough.. but once finished our mains again she was flogging the deserts and had to be repeatly told, I was not interested in the options desert only wanted the set menu desert.... she then leaves the dirty main plates on the table a total of 6 plates while she serves our ice cream... This is completely not acceptable . ...in all - great value food, nice quality but if you see a woman wearing glasses waiting to serve you - LEAVE... very very poor .. and its a shame as i really liked the place..

I must say we were very impressed with our take away meal from this restaurant, the reason being is that we love Indian food but we are extremely fussy about the health issues concerning ghee and the amount of oil used when cooking the food, due to suffering from high cholesterol.Before I placed our order I spoke to a gentleman called Palin and he explained how they would cook our food using no ghee and only a tiny amount of oil and substituting the oil with water to give the same taste and plenty of source, this all sounded good but would it work I thought, so I placed our order, it took a little longer to arrive then other places we use but it was Friday night and we were asking for something different.When the food arrived we let it stand for a while to allow any oil to come to the surface, which we always do, and I must say there was virtually no oil and the food was excellent, we also received a few freebies which was an added bonus.We have since ordered again and were not disappointed.Please keep up the good standards.

Tropical Spice is excellent value and provides pretty good food, excellent for the money you pay. As noted in other reviews, the set menu is the way to go: £6.95 per head Sunday - Thursday, or £7.95 on Friday and Saturday, for poppadom, starter, main course, rice/chips/nan and dessert/coffee.The food is actually really good, too: perhaps not the same massive portions as you might get in other restaurants, but still a hearty meal and a pretty good selection for the set menu too. Add to this friendly (if occasionally slightly leisurely) service and the ability to take along your own drinks, and you've got a good recipe for an excellent value night out. I go there at least once a month with friends and family and always have a great time.I can't recommend it enough: great value, good food and a nice environment.

From monday to thursday it's only £6.95 for a four course meal ,rising to £7.95 friday to sunday.the set menu as said has plenty of choices Very good value for money. Popadoms to start with a choice of four dips. A choice of starter, Main meal comes with a choice of rice, chips or nan.followed by a choice of ice-cream or coffee. The food is of a very high standard,The curries I've found are the least greasy of all the ones i've tried in the area, nothing more off putting than a curry swimming in gee when you get it. Like this one so much I'd rather go and collect a takeaway from here than anywhere in Lye. Resturant is very clean and bright, with very friendly staff. Although it is lienced they allow to bring your own drinks. Only downside is that it's up a flight of stairs and a bit on the smallside, phone to make a booking before you go.

Very good food for the price. Four course special under 6 pounds in the week and 7 at the weekend. Take your own drinks or buy in the restaurant.
