We heard a lot about this place and as it has newly opened up after the refurb it was relatively easy to book a reservation. Going towards the food, it was well presented and innovative. No second thoughts about it whatsoever. The waiting staff were professional and knew what they served. Their suggestions were good and helpful. The only downside was, we went for an anniversary dinner and despite clear instructions the dessert that came out had a congratulations message. It did make us laugh a bit, but could have been more careful with it. The corn dish and tandoori prawns tasted delish, but the chicken dishes were decent (not bad), as it’s a restaurant that focuses on coastal food, I can say they lived up to their reputation when it came to seafood.

Trishna was my first Michelin star experience in London, and I must say it did very much stand up to my expectations. I am an Indian and to eat good genuine Indian food in London is such a pleasure. Trishna delivers the flavors of India in a classy fashion. What I also like about it is that compared to other Michelin experiences, Trishna is a lot more affordable. Highly recommend the lunch set menu. I would not fault any dish on the lunch set menu. Even their cocktails are worth a try.

The expecting for a starred restaurant are always very high. Unfortunately our experience with Trishna wasn't the best ever. Even though we came after booking a table, we had to wait 45 minutes in the entrance of the restaurant before being seated. The manager was very assertive about this misstep and offered us a dessert, but the wait was too long. Other than this issue the food we ordered, even though very good, didn't leave any particular impression on us which is also demanded from a starred restaurant. In the end, considering that we might have been unlucky choosing a very difficult night for the restaurant, I would classify this experience as a very nice indian cuisine night but with no exceptional or unexpected turn distinguishing it from any other indian restaurant.

Total disappointment. We ate there six years ago and it was superb. Clearly a one-star restaurant. But tonight, it was nothing like a Michelin-starred restaurant. The food was average at best, and we didn't have time to finish one dish before the next one was brought out, as we had to clear the table quickly. To top it all off, the slice of pineapple in the dessert had been grilled on the barbecue just after meat and tasted like meat. A terrible experience.

Everything was lovely but food is way too spicy. For such an elegant restaurant you could taper the spice to let the complexity of the flavours emerge better. I had the chicken chops and the beef pepper fry and both were too fiery to be fun despite being well made

we visited this michelin restaurant for the reunion with my dear friend who asked for indian food in london. and im not a big fan of indian food as its usually too strong and salty for me in hong kong. but this restaurant just smashed my misconception about indian food. i dont eat tomato myself, but the staffs comforted me it was fine. we ordered one dish from each category. none of it i could taste tomato. amazing!! the mango lassi is really good!! to counteract the spicy taste. staffs are very friendly and warm. only flaw i can say is the space is a little bit crowded. very closed to next table, so i can hear what others talking about. 😆

Full disclosure, I couldn’t make a reservation at Gymkhana but I still wanted quality Indian food which is how I found Trishna (same parent company). As soon as you enter, you are greeted by the smells of spices and curry. Don’t worry though, as the hostess will offer to take your coats to the cloakroom to avoid soaking up the smells. We chose the non vegetarian tasting option and wife added on the wine pairing. The first two dishes we had were the fried crab and pistachio encrusted scallops. The fried crab was done wonderfully with a great flavor and batter. The scallop was also good but I felt that it lacked the sweetness one usually expects from scallop. The first course was paired with a sparkling wine from the UK and paired quite well with both dishes. Next came grilled sea bream with green chili sauce and venison haunch steak with bits of pickled venison. Wife really enjoyed the sea bream! The white fish was flaky and the skin was charred to a delicious crisp. The spicy green sauce complimented the oiliness of the fish. I preferred the venison as it is such a lean meat and they kept it tender and juicy. The next course was a half lobster tail and a tandoori lamb chop. This was paired with a cab franc to go with the lamb. Wife loved the lobster even though she typically does not like lobster! The meat was succulent and sweet. I preferred the gaminess that comes with the lamb and this is complimented by the charred flavor of a tandoori oven. If I wasn’t in a fancy restaurant, I would’ve been gnawing at the lamb chop bone. Our mains were the curried Dorset crab and the Gongura lamb paired with dal panchmel and makai palak along with basmati rice and naan. I loved the creamy curried flavor of the crabmeat and the sauce is easily soaked up with the carbs. The dal was quite good as well but wife felt that it was missing the bitter flavor of burnt garlic in it. The lamb was juicy and flavorful as well. We were so full we couldn’t finish the mains. Finally after some rest, we had dessert and we chose the mango lassi mousse and the frozen yogurt with strawberries. This was paired with a Hungarian sweet wine which was probably my favorite pairing of the night. The mango lassi mousse was good but the frozen yogurt was the star. The cream was soft and tasted like Barfi and paired with the sweetness of macerated strawberries and floral rose petals. Just wow. Overall, this felt and tasted like a Michelin star experience. We’re very happy to have dined here and are excited that there’ll be a branch of some sort in NYC so we can try it again.

Had the Tasting Menu here which was superb. The soft shell crab, the scallop, the sea bream, and venison were exceptionally well cooked, with great accompaniments. Was absolutely stuffed by the end of the eventing, but the desert and petit fours were definitely worth saving space for. An expensive meal, was £150 pp with a cocktail and service, but worth it for a fantastic meal.

Tried Trishna recently and honestly it was an amazing experience from start to finish. We ordered a few dishes (the ones in the pictures), and most of them were absolutely delicious. The only one I didn’t personally enjoy was the lamb cutlet or rib. It just wasn’t to my taste. But to be fair, the flavor was still nice, just not something I’d order again. The highlight of the meal was definitely the lamb dish in gravy, recommended by our waiter. It was so rich and flavorful, easily the star of the show. Huge thanks to the waiter for the recommendation. Speaking of service, it was more than amazing. The staff were super professional and experienced. One of them even advised us that we might be ordering too much, which we actually appreciated. It showed they cared about the experience, not just the bill. And one last nice touch: when we asked for the check, they brought out some complimentary Indian sweets. It was a small gesture, but it left a great impression. Overall, I’d honestly give this place a 100 out of 10. Would totally recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Got the tasting menu with wine pairing which was outstanding, the beverage director did an exemplary job with the pairings. The food was stunning and flavors were outstanding. Major downfall, was the guest seating next to me that was basically on top my lap. I would greatly appreciate if a two top table didn’t turn into a three top. I felt like I should have been sharing a water glass and cutlery with that “surprise” guest. I also wish I’d been invited to their conversation just due to the fact that they were so loud I couldn’t hear the wine director describe the wines that came in the pairing.

Despite the appearance of this restaurant I can only warn you not to purchase gift vouchers for a tasting menu from this establishment - it is a strange scam. We gifted a tasting menu for two to my in-laws, purchased directly from the restaurant website. According to the voucher, they should get the full tasting menu for two and pay extra only for drinks and a service charge of 13,5%. Voucher valid until June 2025. Bad surprise after dining yesterday: Suddenly this restaurant in all seriousness claimed the "prices had gone up" and my in-laws had to pay an extra 40£ for the tasting menu, plus 15% service charge on the spot, after finishing their "gifted" dinner. No prior information. Clearly not legal, and ridiculous for such a seemingly upscale place.

Trishna offers an exceptional take on Indian coastal cuisine, earning its Michelin star with bold flavors, innovative techniques, and impeccable execution. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and refined, making it an ideal spot for both special occasions and casual fine dining. The Brown Crab, inspired by the original Trishna in Mumbai, is an absolute standout—rich, buttery, and delicately spiced with red chili. The Tandoori Lamb Chop is another signature dish, perfectly charred on the outside and juicy within, bursting with aromatic flavors. Where is your favourite place for Indian food? This restaurant is definitely one of my top five places to go in London😆 I have been to this place four times and always love it!! ❤️ It offers a fantastic £55 4 course set lunch/ early dinner menu!!! Great value for a one Michelin starred restaurant!!🤑 I also love the wide variety of small dishes and tandoori dishes that are on offer! SAVE this and FOLLOW me for Michelin starred experience around London 😊 I love everything that I had! But my favourites are the duck sheekh kebab or with sweet pineapple chutney, crispy coconut and corn tikki, tandoori trout, garlic jumbo prawns, Dorset brown crab curry and jackfruit ice cream😍 TOP TIP- if you order the bread basket, you can ask for three pieces of garlic naan (instead of one garlic, one plain and one brown) Trust me the garlic one is the best one! 😆 For my last visit, I had the following from the Set menu (£55 for 4 courses): ⭐️ 🍪 Variety of papads, served with mint, prawn and tomato chutneys ⭐️ 🥔 Aloo Chaat - potato and chickpea with a tamarind and sweet yoghurt dressing ⭐️ 🦆 Duck seekh kebab with sweet pineapple chutney. 🐓 Cashew and pepper chicken curry, topped with roasted coconut, served with roasted potato, dal, rice, and bread ⭐️ 🌹 Lychee & rose Kulfi ice cream, served with fluffy patisa crumble and falooda From a la carte, I tried ⭐️ 🌽 crispy coconut and corn tikki (£13) with mint and mango murabba and corn bhail ⭐️ 🦆 Duck keema naan (13) 🧀 Paneer tikka (15) ⭐️ 🐟 Tandoori river trout with smoked papaya and samphire chaat (£22) ⭐️ 🐠 Hariyali bream - fish marinated with green chilli and coriander, served with smoked tomato (£20) ⭐️ 🦐 Peanut garlic prawns ( £28) Jumbo prawns with shrimp chutney and idiyappam 🍫 chocolate mousse cake with jackfruit ice cream and pistachio ⭐️🍦 Ice cream - Jackfruit & cinnamon, rose & lychee, chocolate & honeycomb 📍 Trishna, 15-17 Blandford St, London W1U 3DG 🚇Nearest Station: Bond Street . . . .

Slightly disappointed. From the moment we arrived, we were crammed into a small porch with other guests waiting to be seated. It all seemed very disorganised. Once seated, it took forever to take our drinks order. This is possibly why they rushed us to vacate our table - you only get 2 hours, and we felt slightly pressured during and after the meal. As for the food, it was good for the most part, but not remarkable and certainly not worthy of a Michelin star. The lamb chop was the star of the show, but that doesn't make up for the rest of the menu which I would say was above average, rather than exceptional. The price paid and the Michelin star do not match up to the actual experience of dining here sadly.

Great food, spoilt by an abysmally rushed ending to the meal. I booked Trishna for an early dinner to celebrate my birthday with some family, and had been looking forward to it for a while as a special occasion due to its reputation and Michelin star. We were offered the 3/4 course early evening menu, which for £50/55 is excellent value for a Michelin-starred restaurant, as I’ve been to several Michelin-starred restaurants in London. I have no complaints about the food or drinks: - I had the lychee martini at the start which was delicious, the strong vodka taste complemented by the sweet lychee - The papads and chutneys were great, with special mention to the mint and coriander chutney - From the set menu, I chose the guinea fowl pepper fry, paneer tikka, and mushroom and morel biryani. The guinea fowl came with wonderfully flaky paratha, and all of the dishes were superb even if nothing was particularly mind-blowing - The portions were surprisingly plentiful and came with dal panchmel, breads (garlic naan, roti and aloo paratha) and rice. I love dal myself so this is biased but the dal was my favourite dish - I ordered another portion! - Since we were warned the portions might be quite small, I also opted for the Kashmiri morel dish off the a la carte menu which was served with my paneer. This was very flavourful and came with a range of chutneys. After reaching the end of the third course, I was greatly impressed by Trishna and it felt like money well spent, and was already planning to come back. This was immediately then soured once a waiter came up to us and asked something to the effect of “Are you finished? Because we have another table coming at 7:45 so we’ll need you to leave by then.” At this point it was 7:37 and one of our party was still waiting for dessert! This was the first anyone had told us that we would need to rush out. Our booking did give 7:45 as the end time for a meal, but this is typical for bookings made on SevenRooms and we hadn’t been looking carefully at the time - the waiters were happy to take orders for more food in the meantime and didn’t warn us upon ordering dessert that this would be an issue. We asked if the dessert could be cancelled in that case but we were told that it was already ready, and it was brought over with five minutes to spare. To their credit, they gave me a scoop of fruit sorbet for my birthday which was a really nice touch - but I didn’t even find out what flavour it was in the panic of wolfing it down in five minutes, as the bill was being served. The plates from our third course hadn’t even been taken away at this point. This wasn’t a massive problem in the grand scheme of things but is unacceptable for a Michelin-starred restaurant of that calibre and really soured our meal. After forking out over £80 a head in the end and eagerly looking forward to the experience, we didn’t even get to properly finish it. We weren’t particularly slow at eating, and this leads me to wonder - had we ordered the £110/head 5 course tasting menu instead, with wine pairings, how can it be possible to have the full meal within the 2 hour time period? In any case, despite the hefty price tag, it didn’t really feel like a special occasion. Would I return to Trishna? Possibly, if I was dining solo and having the early evening set menu. Would I ever consider getting the tasting menu? Absolutely not - I’m sure it tastes amazing, but based on my experience, there’s no guarantee that we’d even get to the end of the meal.

We had the vegetarian and the classic New Year's Eve menu. Both menus were very good and authentically prepared. The selection of individual dishes within the menu was also nice and there was something for every taste. The service was good but a bit too rushed. I would have liked to have taken things a little easier :). We had a lovely evening at Trishna.

The restaurant offers an impressive selection of traditional coastal Indian dishes, expertly prepared to elevate the classic flavors of curries and biryanis. We enjoyed the balance between refined techniques and the simplicity of authentic recipes. While the service occasionally faltered, lacking the seamless efficiency one might expect from a Michelin-starred establishment, the food more than made up for any minor setbacks. Although there was no amuse-bouche — perhaps due to our à la carte choices — we appreciated the thoughtful compliments from the kitchen. Overall, the culinary experience was both satisfying and comforting, even if it didn’t entirely deliver the wow factor we anticipated from a Michelin-starred venue.

Went there a couple of months back. Food was amazing and as per expectations. But I did see a mouse in their washroom which was shocking, especially since it was a Michelin star. Their service overall was good and they seems shocked too when I told them about the mouse. Not sure what they did after that. Until that incident, it was a recommended experience.

Food here is exceptional. Some of the best Indian fine dining you’ll find in London. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They will look after you, with a smile. The only let down is that the restaurant is very narrow and lacks atmosphere. We went here for our anniversary and spent £300. We were unfortunately seated next to an extremely loud table with a man who was practically shouting incessantly (though they left just after our first starter), and given the small size of the restaurant this did dampen our experience somewhat. This is outside of the staff’s control so I absolutely can’t fault the restaurant for this but if you’re looking for a more romantic ambience for a special occasion, try Chutney Mary or even Bombay Bustle. However if you’re just looking for a fantastic meal with good service, don’t hesitate to book. The food is sublime. We look forward to visiting again!

Tasting menu started off really well with the papads, incredibly tasty chutneys and the flavourful smoked salmon tayir sadam. The mallard chutney seekh was the highlight, each bite an incredible sensation in my mouth. Given the price of the tasting menu, expected more of the dishes to hit the heights of the spice infused dabbling duck. I love ducks and so had mixed emotions as I chipped away at the kebab, from my taste buds experiencing extreme euphoria to a devastating guilt back to happy taste buds and then utter melancholy once it was all gone.

Visited this place following a few recommendations. I had the 6 course tasting menu, which was a good meal but nothing I would deem as Michelin star quality. The atmosphere is very relaxing but what we didn't appreciate was to be told we only had 15 minutes left before the table was needed for the next set of customers. We have never encountered this at a starred restaurant before and felt the service was rushed.

I would have rated it 4 stars if most of the courses weren't so underseasoned. The assorted papads were alright, no comments there. The Turkey pepper fry with parotta (the only flawless course) was just outstanding, there were distinctive sweet and citric tones complimenting the spicy flavours well. The chicken chops were cooked to perfection but the downsides were that it didn't have enough salt and the unnecessary lentil dish on the side, which was just bland and felt excessive. Now for the main...which was a lot of food! Yet the gongura lamb left much to be desired. Both the main dish and the potatoes needed more SALT. Like I can't highlight it enough. The dessert, Chennar Payesh, was good if not great, and AGAIN it needed more SUGAR. I'm not just ranting out of order here, but having been to so many restaurants I know my tastebuds well. I wasn't disappointed with the experience but in all honesty, I don't think it's michelin star worthy.

Probably my favourite Indian restaurant anywhere in the world. Ridiculously good value for its well-deserved Michelin star. The focus is on South Indian food, so I would suggest that you lean into that versus some of the more 'default' dishes. Particular standouts are the salmon, the prawn curry and the absurdly good carrot and bean thoran (a dish that has no business being as good as it is). Lovely relaxed setting too.

Got the most popular dishes (soft shell crab, dill tandoori salmon, tandoori lamb chops) as well as the brown crab curry. Unfortunately, the brown crab curry was overwhelmingly salty and peppery. Tried to send it back but was ignored by multiple servers who passed by. When I finally tracked down a server to pay for the check, I mentioned to them that the dish was way too salty and peppery and to let the chef know. All they did was ask if I wanted to pack it up to go rather than to rectify the situation (offer another menu item, take it off my check, etc). I gave them another chance by telling 2 other different servers about it, but nothing still. Was charged for it in the end. Although the rest of the dishes were fine, this experience with the brown crab curry tainted the rest of my evening’s enjoyment at the restaurant. The Michelin inspectors should reconsider their 1 star rating for future years, and the Trishna team should carefully re-evaluate their curries (a few other reviews have commented on the excessive saltiness and greasiness).

This is a wonderful restaurant with tasty Indian dishes. I had dinner here with my sister and ordered appetiser Aloo Tokri Chat and mains were Cashew Pepper Chicken, Heirloom Carrot and Dorset Brown Crab, which is the standout. It is delicious and tender with the perfect garlicky and peppery taste. Overall, Trishna is exceptional in delivering flavourful dishes, and their service as well. It is well worth a visit for anyone looking for a refined Indian cuisine restaurant in London.

Trishna has its strengths, particularly in service and selecting dishes like salmon and turkey, but many other areas need improvement. The uncooked rice and the lacklustre Pepper Chicken were significant letdowns, which you would expect better at this price point. Failing to boil rice properly is something I have never experienced in any restaurant. I hope to see improvements in these areas in future visits if I ever feel like it deserves one. These missteps were surprising for a restaurant that prides itself on its culinary heritage and has a Michelin star. However, this should not deter anyone to atleast visit once. Pros: Service Dill & Pepper Salmon The Sharabi Turkey Chocolate Cake Cons: Uncooked Basmati Rice Cashew and Pepper Chicken Main Size of the Table

So almost cancelled dinner as my husband got food poisoning and I hate dining alone unless I’m at a counter. I spoke with the manager, Preeta, and she convinced me to come and they’d take care of me. So I arrive and probably have the best table in the house where it’s central part of the action but not exposed. Food was amazing. Duck naan was a Lovely starter and I couldn’t decide between the lamb chops and salmon so Preeta gave me a sample of both. Can’t decide which I liked better. Somm from Sardegna was super knowledgeable and helped me pick a great bottle of white he had off list (just gotten in). I also wanted a glass of red and he served me my pick and brought me a taste of his pick, a South African wine, which was delicious and lighter than most South African wines I’ve had which is nice. We’ve loved their sister restaurant Gymkhana for years but this was a fun more casual vibe with equally great food. They could not have made me feel more welcome. ❤️

My mistake, never book a tasting menu on a first service at 1800hrs when they “kick you out” at 2030hrs… Food was great, atmosphere was great, our waiter was great but the pressure to get through a 6 course meal in 2 hours….not suitable for a Michelin star…. One sitting per evening to allow a stressless meal should be mandatory……. Never again.

Visited for lunch and had the four-course Taste of Trishna menu. We ordered the soft shell crab, followed by paneer tikka and green pepper chicken chops, then for the main we ordered gongura lamb and cashew & pepper chicken then finally for dessert the rasmalai and semifreddo. The mains were accompanied by roast potatoes, dhal, rice and a bread basket and as a starter snack a huge basket of papadams and chutneys was brought to the table. It was an incredible amount of food showcasing all the exotic flavours of coastal Indian cuisine. Hard to choose a favourite, they were all very good! The drinks menu is extensive, I liked the spiciness of the Kulukki Fizz cocktail and the beers, brewed especially for the restaurant, pair very well with the food. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, the meal was well paced and drink orders arrived quickly. The venue has a lovely ambience and is tastefully decorated. The lunch service attracted a diverse crowd with business lunches, friends catching up, regulars stopping by for their usual order and tourists like us wanting to sample one of London's best rated restaurants. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it!

Service was great. Loved how the staff explained all the dishes, even the simple stuff like mango chutney that is brits are probably quite familiar with. Very friendly atmosphere. The food was as you’d expect. Brilliant. Everything nicely balanced and the dishes that were spicy struck that level to feel the heat, but not distract from the flavours leaving you with a warm glow after each dish. For me that makes me crave more. The cocktails were fantastic too! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Pretty impressive Indian food. I think I had the best daal so far in my life at this place, very tasty and not too salty. The paneer tikka just made me love paneer cheese even more, it was definitely cooked to perfection. The soft shell crab was very fresh. The cheese ball dessert was definitely a highlight to end the lunch experienced The only did I didn’t like was the gongura lamb, a bit too flavorful / salty.

I booked the Festive tasting menu. From the moment you arrive service is superb, the attention to detail, flawless moves, it’s almost a subtle dance. We recently visited Trishna and enjoyed the Festive Tasting Menu, which provided a great mix of flavors with some courses offering a choice of dishes. Each dish was thoughtfully presented and well-prepared, with highlights like the Tandoori Lamp Chop and the Chemmeen Muringa Theeyal. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. We had a glass of champagne to accompany our meal which was a great addition. Trishna is a lovely spot for a special meal, especially during the festive season.

Indian food with one Michelin star is pretty good. It feels like fashionable Indian food. It’s also good to order a cocktail. The pre-dinner biscuits dipped in the three sauces are also quite delicious. The Indian food in London is really delicious. Each one has different delicacies, and their hand pancakes are delicious with butter! Never leave! The main course curry sauce is delicious whether it is dipped in soy sauce pancakes or mixed with rice!

Although it had been a while since my last visit, I have been a long time fan of Trishna, having dined there perhaps 4-5 times in the past. On this occasion I visited for a Sunday lunch with the wife and kids. It felt like not much had changed in terms of the décor and even the menu looked very familiar. The 4 of us ordered the papadums, chaat, Tellicherry squid & shrimps, tandoori salmon, coconut scallops, Dorset crab, gongura lamb and the spinach, along with some naans and rice. For dessert we shared the chocolate chikki and fig kheer. It was a lot of food and we packed some to take home. The quality of the food was solid throughout and felt quite consistent with prior visits, but at the same time I was not really blown away by any of the dishes. I did love their Kithul old fashioned though! Service was excellent, staff were very friendly and professional and pretty much all of them seemed to originate from India as did most of the other guests, which all helped to create an authentic vibe. The bill for our family lunch came to a punchy £336, of which around £100 was spent on drinks. On the whole an enjoyable meal but I feel like Trishna may have lost some of its spark by standing still while the Indian restaurant scene has continued to evolve in London. Just within the JKS family itself there are newer and more exciting offerings such as Bibi and Ambassadors Clubhouse (with a recent meal at the latter being substantially cheaper than Trishna). Clearly Trishna has retained a loyal following as the place was packed and to reiterate the food was enjoyable while service was a strong point, but all that said it would no longer feature in my top picks for Indian food in London.

Best Indian food I’ve ever tried!!! Highly recommended. The food was spicy but a tasty spice ( I’m not a big fan of clove and cumin🥲), with right amount of everything! The plates were hot (sterilised) and they give us hot napkins at the end. The staffs were really friendly and handle everything professionally!! Loved it there Thank you!!
