Always a nice place to have dinner with a friend.

Pleasant moment. Good food. Impeccable service! Many vegetarian dishes!

I have been going to Durbar for many years but last night's experience was subpar. The restaurant was very full and the waiters were all over the place. We sat for 30 min and asked for water 3 times, the water came after we had finished the appetisers. We had to wait for our main for 25 min and when it came it was cold and quite insipid. Throughout the time we were there, the door kept being opened with the waiters going in and out doing take-away orders which meant we got a cold draft every time the door opened, that combined with people going to the nearest shop to buy their own alcoholic drinks (it's a BYOW restaurant) meant there was constant traffic in and out the door. I got the sense they prioritised takeaway orders rather than the people in the restaurant, which had a knock-on effect on quality, service and atmosphere. It's time to find a new local.

Cozy little Indian restaurant in a lively neighborhood. Very good food, they have also won several awards.

Went out to eat here for a work do! And I can honestly say the dishes I have tried were worst Indian dishes I have tried in my whole life!! No flavour, bland, no salt, no pepper no taste. I was annoyed because I was looking forward to the meal. I tried the following items; Hydrabadi lamb biriyani, it was NOT biriyani! It was fried rice in oil (that’s what it tasted like) with few pieces of bland lamb! There was no aroma! No taste, no salt, no pepper, no flavour! Most of all no biriyani masala or ghee! It’s was awful. I tried the lamb kebabs for starter- again was very dry. Samosa- was just ok- again could have added a little spice. tandoori chicken- again this was no tandoori chicken it tasted like chicken pasted with red food colouring, fried in load of oil! Again no flavour of tandoor masala, yogurt, or spice, and no taste of it being inside a tandoor! Very disappointed. Lorient special chicken - was not very nice either. I ate the peshawari naan- which tasted okay only. My experience was so bad that I was too scared to try anything else, my colleagues ordered other dishes which also compared was very bland, such and lamb shanks and lamb Kaliyan. I think they have too many things on their menus- and half it is made with same base , but tweaked! I am never going back even if the meal is free. Please fix up!

We were the only ones in at 5pm Have to say it was the best Indian l've had in years. Starters fresh a well prepared. Great naan and tarka dhall. I'd go out of my way to return next visit to London

Awful tasteless food everthing tastes stale and bland not freshly cooked by a competent chef. Tried a few times but always very disappointing

Great food and professional service! Having worked in 5-star luxury hotels for many years, I must say the senior staff here have mastered the service sequence. That’s when you get to enjoy the delicious food and pleasant time with friends without any awkward ‘excuse me’. Will definitely come back!

Excellent attention from the waiters. The menu is super extensive. The food was excellent in every way. Abundant portions. The atmosphere is a bit noisy and the bathroom could be cleaner.

Excellent curry at reasonable prices, nice ambience and good service. Recommend the Lorient chicken for a flavourful but mild option. I went recently but we also went for Christmas one year and had a delicious and memorable meal.

Recently found this place near me, very well made curries, onion bahji + naan also tasting great. Having ordered twice the only issue has been the rice which has not been good on both occasions which is the only reason I put 4*

We ordered lime chicken, chicken tikka masala, crab cake, vegetable pulao and butter naan. Every single dish was so authentic and delicious. The spice level was customized according to our request. Very nice interior and a soulful music.

Had chicken biriani from there, it was most terrible biriani I have ever had. No taste, no spice, chicken pieces were uncooked. Chicken pieces were chew. I taste so much coconut in biriani, which is unusual for biriani. I will never order anything from there

Skønt og meget charmerende sted med god, opmærksom service og fantastisk mad (som dog er til den stærke side, hvis man har lidt svage smagsløg).

Amazing, authentic Indian food served by very friendly staff. Really nice, relaxing atmosphere and its an added bonus that you can bring your own wine. Will be coming back soon. Thank you very much

This was the best Indian food i’ve ever had. Not only was the food delicious but the service was amazing as well. The staff were very warm and accommodating and had great recommendations. I had a very pleasant experience and highly recommend!

Absolute gem in Bayswater, authentic, excellent quality food & great service, we have been coming here for over 25 years, now a BYO alcohol restaurant so even better value!!

Best Indian I’ve ever had, super nice staff. I had their special Loriant chicken and my girlfriend the chicken tikka masala. Also had a peshwari naan. Totally fantastic!

I always look forward to the food at Durbar! Never disappoints me and the staff there are lovely, fast and helpful. If you love good food and curry I’d definitely recommend it. Also, the bring your own booze thing is great.

Nach vielen Jahren und schönen Erinnerungen haben wir das Durbar erneut besucht. Wir haben uns für das preisgekrönte Gericht für 2 Personen entschieden und sind nicht enttäuscht worden. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Best chicken tikka I've tried in London Highly recommended!!!

I had the soft buttery naan with that creamy shrimp korma (which I highly recommend).my brother had the tandoori Lamb chop and chicken with rice with looked so banging ngl . It had other people around us ordering it too. Will come again

I’ve been to Durbar 5-6 times and the food quality has always been consistent. I do quite enjoy the food here and have probably tried almost everything vegetarian on the menu.

We enjoyed our evening at durbar with friends. The foods and services was out standing. Highly recommended.

Great spot for some interesting curry dishes... the chicken with Pustachios is divine! We’ve ordered both take out and dined in and are happy to report its just as lovely either way! BYOB too which keeps the bills low :)

Went with family. Met by warm and friendly staff. Our food consisted of four starters and main courses. We all agreed it was the best Indian meal we had ever had. Freshly cooked. A blend of spices is just right. Very reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back

Excellent service and great food, I will most definitely return. I hed the lamb for starters and prawn malabar for main which was cooked to perfection and had Excellent spicing.

Supergod mat, trevlig service och väldigt prisvärt. Serverar bara alkoholfritt, men det är ok att ha med sig eget öl eller vin, vilket vi såg att andra på restaurangen hade. En bred meny, synd att man inte kunde prova allt! Vi var alla väldigt mätta och nöjda när vi gick därifrån!

Everything was great. The servers were amazing. Only sitting facing the rounded part of the restaurant felt just a bit claustrophobic.

A wonderful Indian restaurant in Bayswater. We had a tandoori chicken and a lorient special chicken which was unbelievable. Plus great side dishes.

My family and I went on a Saturday night which is when the restaurant is most busy. They did their best to squeeze us in, ensuring we didn’t have to wait too long for a table. Although they were absolutely packed, they were so warm and attentive in their service. The food was amazing too! Overall excellent experience.

After a hectic day travelling to the UK, we needed comfort food! So we headed to Durbar Tandoori. Mmmmm nothing beats Indian Food! We enjoyed the fresh made food, fresh Naan, and chutneys. Our servers were more than friendly, courteous and gracious. A lovely meal to remember. TIP: Just cross the street to buy your wine or beer and you can drink it at the restaurant!

Visited after many years What a disappointment 😞 ordered and waited and waited and waited drinks where brought promptly, but sadly that was it , after 40 mins decided to leave As only popodoms where served in this time , when trying to pay and leave was asked if I would like it as a take away Not sure how it was ready as a take away but not ready to be served at the table 4 very dissatisfied customers.

The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing! Chicken masala, cheese nan and chickpeas 👌🏼. Definitely will come back.

food is below average, not recommended, they will try to scam you by adding additional prices and charges for the things which they offered as complementary in rhe beginning without letting us know its chargeable and also does not provide a proper bill, they just make cash memo and did not even hand it to us.

Everything was good except two things, hence not a 5 star review for me. 1) The kholapuri chicken was rated an extra spicy on the menu but was not spicy at all. I understand maybe chefs are toning it down for non-Indians but as a result the dish was simply devoid of flavour. If a guest orders an extra spicy dish I think it better to err on the side of making it how it is supposed to be made. 2) The lemonade came out room temperature. This is a drink that needs to be cold. Otherwise no complaints at all!

Food is very tasty - although not terribly spicy - and the place has a reputation with locals. It's not licensed, so bring your own beer, wine, etc.

Durbar is an amazing restaurant with wonderful, friendly workers who do their job incredibly! I would recommend this place to anyone because it's absolutely super!!

Wir waren hier am 08.07.23 am Abend essen. War alles super und fein. Alkoholfreies Bier aus Indien schmeckt einfach nicht 😉. Wer alkoholische getränke trinken möchte, bitte selber mitnehmen. Aber wer braucht in diesem Restaurant schon Alkohol? Gerne wieder.

Been here for years and always good service and good food, the staff are friendly and they told us about history of the shop , and we love the chocolate afterwards

Tolles kleines indisches Restaurant mit authentischen Gerichten und nettem Service. Die Karte ist recht umfangreich, daher war ein wenig Beratung notwendig - insbesondere bei den Kindern. Das Essen was kam schmeckte uns großartig. Es gibt auch Kindergerichte wie z. B. Pommes oder Reis mit Tandoori-Hühnchen. Interessanterweise gibt es hier keinen Alkohol. Stattdessen wird darum gebeten (!) diesen selbst mitzubringen. Tischnachbarn hatten 4 Flaschen Bier dabei, wovon 2 Flaschen für später im Kühlschrank aufbewahrt wurden. Sehr London-like. In Deutschland undenkbar. Preis-Leistung für diese Lage und die Qualität absolut hervorragend. Wir waren 4 Personen mit Vorspeise, Hauptgang und Dessert sowie Getränken und haben insgesamt rd. GBP 100,- inkl. Service Charge bezahlt.

This place has amazing food at reasonable prices, with a lovely local restaurant feel. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. You can bring your own wine, which is always a plus, but you might be so distracted by the delicious food that you forget to drink it! I’ll definitely be returning.

Very poor hygiene. Toilet was disgusting - literally blocked with stool, no toilet paper, no hand towel, no soap - despite being the very first client for dinner (it was empty when I arrived) and they did not make any comment when I reported it.

Average food, rice tasted not like freshly cooked but microwaved. I’ve ordered something what supposed to be very spicy but was only slightly spicy so i’ve asked to make it more spicy. Waiter wasn’t happy. Food came back with a bit more spice but still...

Amgeblich das beste indische Restaurant in Großbritannien...was ich für mich auch glaube. Dies ist das zweite Restaurant, das ich nie auslasse, wenn ich in London bin. Dort bin ich schon gefühlte 15 Jahre Stammgast und Mr. Syed begrüßt mich persönlich, wenn er da ist. Es hat sich eingebürgert, dass ich mit meiner Londoner Freundin dort hingehe. Das Essen ist wirklich to die for! Ungedingt hingehen, wenn man in der Ecke Notting Hill / Bayswater unterwegs ist!

SENSATIONAL! The menu is really big and there are option for everyone. Servers were extremely nice and helpful. The place is often busy so I recommend booking if you plan to go in the weekend

Takeaway. Chicken tikka was grey and bland. Onion bhajis stodgy and nam breads poor too.
