A gem of a shop in the centre of Hastings

Like so many "right-on" alternative businesses certain staff are unhelpful and rude. Others do it better, for less. I won't go back.

I buy from this shop on a regular basis. I purchased Googi berries and dried figs which contained lots of wriggly maggots. Not something I would expect to find. I returned them to the shop and received a replacement. On the second occasion I reported this experience to local Environmental Health. They investigated and made their results known to me. My actions were to help the shop prevent such events happening again, for the benefit of the shop and their customers. I received no benefit and sought no benefit. This week I went to the shop and made purchases. The staff became abusive, accusing me of causing them loss of money and suggesting I souldn't be coming into their shop to buy things. I explained that whatever I did was with good intention and that they should thank me for bringing the matter of polluted fruits to their attention. Their attitude was disgusting, insulting and hurtful. What should customers do in this shop? Examine all food packets and if you find maggots........report immediately to local Environmental Health and don't return to the shop because they will abuse you.

I buy most of my groceries here- it’s a fantastic shop, with a great selection of ethical products and lovely staff. They have a really good selection of homemade wraps, salads, sometimes soup, plus delicious treats which are much healthier than most. A selection of fresh organic bread from Judges Bakery is available daily, including a gluten free option. They also have a good variety of environmentally friendly toiletries and cleaning products. I have shopped here for many years and will continue to do so. Some things they don’t have in stock can be ordered in, depending on availability and the minimum order requirements. A definite jewel in the crown of Hastings.

Annoyed that the bag of weighed produce I brought has just split from the bottom. (irritating and waistfull) please look into this packaging (corn startch? ) . Because this is the second time its felt too fragile and full too even open.

Excellent place! Vegan and vegetarian supplies, mostly organic. Well respected locally. It always pays to eat healthy food.

This people keep me well fed anytime I forget lunch (which is often, to be honest). Their salads, wraps and soups are all made from scratch using quality ingredients, reasonably priced and overall made in a way you would do it if 1. you are a health junkie 2. foodie 3.and actually had time. Love those guys.

Love the shop, it's full of good quality products, e.g. artisan breads, good teas, coffees, etc

The weighed goods in the shop have recently been short dates, thier quality has decreased slowly over the years.

I popped in today for some tea and a hot cross bun. (Both delicious.) The shop is very neat, clean and well organised, with all the products beautifully displayed, making the most of the space. There is a great selection of lovely products, at good prices. The atmosphere is relaxed and homey. The lady who served me was very sweet and charming. Highly recommended. A+

This is a wonderful shop! They sell a fantastic range of products and all the staff are helpful, warm and friendly.

I love this shop. Good selection of wholefoods and veg and as a cooperative supporting local suppliers fantastic ethos.

Sadly I avoid this shop because I find its atmosphere to be smug, superior and holier-than-thou. It could be vastly improved by the staff adopting a friendlier attitude to ALL customers, not just those who share their personal or political values.

Making illegal exemption demands that are not only in violation of the discrimination act, but for documents that do not even exist! Management need to a) Not discriminate against customers without masks (the most effective way of doing this is to NOT ASK; we do not need to carry any proof or wear a lanyard as this further flags the issues we have to face every time we go anywhere), and b) Do at least two minutes of research before making a notice. No such documentation exists.

They have great food here for vegans and vegetarians alike which is all home made or made locally and ideal for take away - the choices change often depending on what they have left - definitely recommended - Enjoy

As a local independent health food shop I would like to show my support to Trinity Wholefoods, they do stock some very good things. The only problem is that I have found some of the women who run the place so incredibly rude over the years. Today was the worst case of rudeness to date, when in the middle of serving me, the woman just walked off the counter moaning about something. An embarressed .colleague stepped in and finished taking for my purchase. I get the impression they are looking down their noses for some reason?. Maybe get over yourselves, and be a bit more professional. I'm afraid I'm used to shopping in London and in Italy so you really don't have too much feel pretentious about I assure you.

Just purchased some ginger root, didn't have glasses with me. Turns out what I thought was the result of organic growing is mould and rot. Clearly no care has been taken about examining the ginger root there as it is a total disgrace and the rubbish should be taken off the shelves.

Well what can one say about their home made takeaway vegan foods - just so tasty and fresh that one has to get there early so as not to leave empty handed Staff are helpful and friendly and know their products - recommended / enjiy

Nice friendly and helpful staff. Good range of products, i get all my treats here. Really good fresh soups and homemade lunches. We particularly like the onion bahjees and samosas. Good mixed salads. Predominantly vegan, however you can get milk, eggs and cheese. Lots of organic. Dried fruits, nuts, rices, cereals, sauces, small section of frozen. Small area for bread (need more!) Staff very helpful with ingredients and know the products they are selling. Mum says we spend too much in here.

Excellent Wholefood store with a very wide range of organic produce including good bread and fresh vegetables. Delicious selection of salads and quiches etc. to take away. Nowhere else quite like it in Hastings.

One of the reasons why i'm staying in Hastings! We need more shops like this in the UK!! Independent, Community-driven! If you are looking for anything Organic and Vegan this is the place for you. The Almond cake here is one of a kind! I wish a millionaire co-operation invests in Trinity Wholefoods! And I hope it expands to Eastbourne, Bexhill, Rye and Tunbridge Wells! We need more places like this. McDonalds, KFC and these multi-national food companies need to be boycotted, they are destroying humanity and Gems like Trinity Wholefoods can replace these!! We need Trinity on a National Level!!!

We didn't eat here, but rather were looking for some remedies, and the staff could not have been more helpful. But we did get to try a delicious smoothie mixture that they had just brought out. If I lived in Hastings I would be a regular customer

This place has a lot of home-cooked foods to take away for every healthy dietary need but you have to be early to get a good choice of the take-away food They also have a very wide range of healthy food and will help you as much as they can to achieve your dietary requirements

This is a very small shop heaving with stuff. People have to shuffle around and out of the way of each other continually, surely the money they surely make here (being Hastings one and only health food shop) could be put towards a bigger premises? Having said that, I will never shop here again. Why? Because of the service. I have never been anything but well mannered in my dealings here but I have found the women serving here to be just incredibly rude and patronising (I have to say the men serving on the rare occasions are nicer people to deal with).

Trinity Wholefoods is a small, unassuming shop in the Trinity triangle of shops between Hastings town centre and the seafront. It is small, but well-stocked, with healthy options. We have bought lentil hotpots there, cooked by the staff, and are delicious. Fresh, locally sourced veg and fruit are also available as are some more specialist breads eg spelt, rye and sourdough. Staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and contribute to the cosy, warm atmosphere in the shop. We regularly shop there for vegan items we wouldn't find elsewhere. Well worth a visit.

Recently visited for the first time in ages. Well stocked shop although I think it is very overpriced unfortunately. Would shop on a more regular basis if it was more reasonable. Knowledgeable staff who have different levels of friendliness

We visited this healthfood shop and take away recently after discovering it when we visited Hastings last year. One of the best if not the best health food shops even. Their take out savouries, salads and cakes are all wonderful. Many vegan and gluten free and even the most delicious moist, light, vegan, gluten free and sugar free fruit cake which was perfect for my birthday. Also vegan spring rolls which were so delicious I went back for more almost straight away only to find the last one had just been sold :( Vegan pakoras - yum and delicious vegan salads - we took it all up onto East Cliff for the most fantastic picnic. Wish you guys were in Oxford, we have nothing as good here.

One of the best health food shops in the country. All their vegan foods to take out are irresistible. Difficult to choose every time so end up buying some of everything vegan and being glad I did. This time bought fantastic spring rolls, pakora, both the carrot/ slaw salad and the quinoa salad and both amazingly delicious. We enjoyed this excellent picnic up on East Cliff. Later we started on the vegan cakes: the last slice of carrot cake with really good frosting (I don't usually like regular high sugar frosting), and the lightest most delicious fruit sponge. Carrot and apple juice and other juices were great too. Thank you so much for this vegan haven in Hastings. Wish you were in Oxford

If you are a man I would advise you only to shop here when men are serving, I have found the women serving here to be hostile and rude to men.

I'm not vegetarian, vegan or gluten free but all this food is and it's delicious plus very nice people. Please get bigger premises though

NOT A RESTAURANT but an excellent wholefood co-op selling delicious home-made vegetarian and vegan dishes, hot and cold. Good range of vegan desserts - try their fridge cake!

This shop has great Vegan & Vegetarian goods and the staff are very friendly and helpful and know what they are talking about when it's comes to vegetarianism It is a local shop and not part of a chain so is well worth a visit

I love the selection of whole foods this place has as well as selling natural toiletries and household products and fresh fruit and veg. It is slightly over priced but most whole food places are!

Great little find. Gorgeous ready food at the counter, even if some lines taste bland like polenta pizza etc..... cheaper than infinity in Brighton. Good to frequent as worthy co- operative. Great laundry liquid is sold here that is soothing for allergy sufferers......😀

We popped in when wandering in the town looking for a treat that's safe for gluten and dairy free diet and we came across this little shop. There's so much choice of healthy produce, from fresh fruit & veg to condiments and sweets. Walked away with some lush chocolates.

We went to this shop for the first time yesterday and were pleasantly surprised by the range of food there from fresh veg, bread to frozen and cupboard food. I love it and will be back. The staff are friendly too.

Tough around here to get an Organic Vegetable delivery service, this workers co-op store gets a delivery weekly from a local organic producer, we then go collect from them. These folks are reliable and we value what they do.

The range of health foods here is second to none, there is a range of fresh food as well. Ideal for lunch. This is always busy and has a wonderful community feel.

Amazing little shop with pretty much any vegan staple and substitutions you could think of! Really nice helpful staff. They have a nice bakery section with gorgeous cakes, cupcakes and savoury treats like pies and pasta salads, all absolutely delicious and most of them are vegan. It is all clearly labelled ,quite fair priced and very high quality products.

I often buy bits and pieces in Trinity’s, because they offer a good selection of vegan staples, including things that are hard to find elsewhere in Hastings. I never buy fresh produce here as it is way out of my price range, but I do get tofu and tempeh from time to time. I buy here when I can, as I like to support the co-operative as opposed to on-line retailers like Amazon, even if their prices are more competitive.The staff in Trinity’s are always very helpful and friendly and are happy to answer any questions. They also ordered a product for me once, and made the process very simple; I will definitely order from them again!The shop gets very crowded at times and is often difficult to navigate, but that can’t really be helped; I suppose it goes to show that it is a popular place to shop!The food they serve is always delicious and there is always something vegan and wheat-free that I can enjoy, which is a nice thing to find!

I feel really lucky to live near this fabulous small shop. If you want to eat healthily in Hastings this is an absolute treasure trove. There is a great range of super foods,organic vegetables and good quality vitamins and supplements. The best thing about it is the friendly and knowledgeable staff. There are recipes and leaflets about some of the less well known super foods. My favourite is the raw sugar free chocolate which is absolutely delicious. My only complaint is that it is too small!

I have bought from Trinity Whole foods for many years and seen it grow into an excellent shop for health foods. The wide range of packaged food and freshly cooked items is impressive. The staff are very knowledgeable and always ready to give advice.

Trinity wholefoods has an amazing array of goods, considering the size of the shop. A great place to stock up on larder items or buy a takeaway salad, filled wrap or yummy cake. Veggie, vegan and gluten free diets catered for. Prices pretty good too.

Artisan breads. wholesome seeds, nuts, flours, quinoa - everything for the healthy diet. Local fresh vegetables, vegetable and fruit juices. A selection of Bioforce tinctures such as echinacea, gingko biloba, cold remedies, holistic medicine and vegetarian food home cooked to take away. Busy little shop - it has its devotees - I'm one.

Food sold over the counter is interesting and caters for every taste vegan, veggie, gluten free etc, etc. the box salads to take away are outstanding in taste and value at £1.99 for half a box. I would eat every lunchtime the variation and selection are marvellous. You can get any thing you ever thought of off the shelves wide selection of frozen and cold cabinet items. The staff are very knowledgeable and kindly helpful. Just perfect.

Love this place for stocking up on my dairy free produce as I have a milk allergy. They also sell a lot of great whole food essentials even better stocked than Holland & Barrett. They stock fresh bread and have a small deli counter. Staff are always friendly. Its a great asset to the area.

The takeaway food - both vegan and vegetarian is tasty and there is a good range of savoury and sweet including yummy onion bhajis. There is fresh bread daily. However, although the co-operative prides itself on being ethical it continues to stock Israeli fresh produce although there have been repeated concerns raised. It defends itself under a mask of "we are not political": as Nye Bevan used to say if you stand in the middle of the road you get run over. Disappointing as there are too few ethical places in Hastings!

Good selection of foods which cannot be found elsewhere in town, lots of organics, well-priced dry goods (organic rice, bulgar wheat etc.) and lovely salad selection and cakes/savouries, many of which are veggie or gluten free. Also toiletries, wine, bread - in fact, an excellent selection for a little shop.

This is a local Co-Operative independent Health Food shop that also has Home-Made Vegan/Vegetarian food to take away.Some of the food is made locally and some by the shop workers themselves.There are both Savoury and Sweet items, all at a reasonable price.The shop is very well stocked in all the items that one would expect in a place such as this and the staff are very knowledgable.Recommended - enjoy

I have recently had contact with the very helpful staff at Trinity Wholefoods, I found that the produce is very fresh and affordable. This shop is an excellent choice if you are passionate about whole foods and healthy eating...well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.
