Very disappointed told 3/4 of hour for delivery after an hour rang them and told not to be delivered for another 1/2 hour I went to collect and noted that the food had been cooked at least 3/4 hour previously only given the delivery charge back Nothing up to your usual standards 😒

£14 for a large cod and chips and I get the smallest cod ever. I did wonder as I ordered it took as long as putting my card in the card reader to have the cod and chips bagged and on the counter. I drove home 2 minutes, opened the box and saw how smallit was...remembering it cost £14. It was/is cold. Writing this with 15 min of purchase because I am so angry at being ripped off to this extent.

Literally the best fish and chip shop I've ever experienced. Food is delicious, price is good, gluten free options are amazing (make me feel normal) go above and beyond for their customers. I travel 20 minutes to come to Trident every week, won't go anywhere else!

Good fish and chip shop. Food cooked to order so takes a few minutes or you can order by phone and collect or they deliver. Gluten free options available. Next door is the restaurant. Same food, eat in. Only 4 stars because despite ordering ahead I still had to wait 15 minutes to collect as they don't pack up the advance orders until you're there and they are very busy.

Very large and comfortable restaurant which seats 90 easily before the garden. Newly refurbished and the vibe is great. Highly recommended and a real find out of Central Eastbourne.

Whoever cooked my food today wants sacking. As does whoever served it. Half a portion of undercooked chips for £4. Just like everywhere else in this town, staff thinking they can serve up complete junk, and short people on what they’ve paid for, and then offer to give the customer what they should have been given in the first place, after they complain. Get it right first time or don’t bother at all. Sorry, but it needs saying. Business will go down the pan if you carry on like this. Customer of 20+ years now lost, why am I going to come back and play the roulette game of “will my food be good or bad today”

Has The Trident changed hands recently?

Bit of a mixed experience. Order didn't take too long to arrive. Decent Fish and Sausage, but the chips were a bit undercooked, anaemic and soggy (without vinegar added yet). The curry sauce was also a bit odd - was rather like vegetable soup with curry powder added!

Fell in love with this place a while ago, they deserve 5 stars.

Sadly the large cod was woeful tonight. I don't even think it could be classed as small.

Even though I had to take my burger back. I don't mind as the fish cake was amazing. I will be definitely ordering the home made fish cakes again.

Chips were fine but cod lacked flavour and the batter was so well cooked and hard at the ends I had to remove it to eat the fish.

We fancied a last minute fish and chip supper. Fantastic gluten free options. I had the cod and chips and my better other the rack of ribs, washed down with Prosecco and followed by a delicious mint bomb and gluten free sticky toffee pud. All in all delicious but a little pricey.

Having been a customer here for over 20 years, my takeaway experience was beyond apology this Friday. Fish was inedible, rang up to complain to be connected with young front of house staff who said "sorry"... Unfortunately after a string of bad takeaways here and always forgetting to put salt and vinegar when asked I wont be returning here again. Its honestly not difficult to see the short comings of this business..... Give an order number rather than shouting out the whole order to a room full of clueless customers..... Put salt and vinegar when asked..... Care about your regular customers, a classic example of backwards expansion since new restaurant opened. When Julie worked here things were efficient and you felt looked after, unfortunately this element of service has now long gone.

Amazing basically, considering how busy they were on a Friday and Airbourne weekend it was surprisingly quick. Great quality and if you're gluten free it should be your first choice. The only problem we had was one of the sausage and chips had to be gluten free but when we got home we couldn't tell which one was which. Not marking down for that even though my mother in law ended up with just chips, just one of those things on the day and something to make sure of next time.

Fast and efficient service, even when it was very busy. Chips had a fluffy yet crunchy texture which was great, coupled with large and fresh-tasting fish. Also there's a fair bit of parking outside so you can pick up your order and take them to the cliff tops or beach side to enjoy.

Excellent Fish and Chip restaurant in very comfortable modern surroundings. Portions are large and prices reasonable considering the high quality. Still the same good quality, reasonable price and friendly service.

Horrific delivery service, from ordering we were told it would take half an hour to deliver and it ended up taking 1h30mins in the end only after we phoned up inquiring the whereabouts to get not one sorry and had to wait even later after that. Children were very hungry and it created a seriously stressful atmosphere. Really horrible calamari, barely calamari at all. No sorry at the door either and clearly just pure forgetfulness as it was warm. Pathetic. We would have been more understanding if they had let us know or given us any information or some money off for our situation. Son was waiting for this for ages and couldn't even eat it because the calamari was so disgusting.

This is the place to go in Eastbourne, if you want the best fish and chips.

I like my chips done a bit more than they are usually done and they were happy to oblige. Lovely fish and chips had by all. Their large cheeseburger was very satisfying too.

Waited 20 minutes for pasty and chips. Simple enough order. Thought the wait was because of heating the pasty but sadly the pasty was cold, and I mean cold. Pastry was white. Horrible. Never again.

I've visited this restaurant many times both to dine in and take out. The staff have always been polite and friendly and the food excellent. Everything inside the restaurant is always extremely clean and neat. Trident is always a great place to be.

While I was pet sitting, I had a takeaway from here. Exceptional varied menu, clean place and the staff were very welcoming. They always seemed busy and there is a restaurant next door if people preferred to sit in rather than takeaway.
