Trencreek Restaurant in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

I can't recommend this place too highly! Having made regular visits over the years plus having my 80th Birthday celebration here, I more recently planned an 80th Birthday surprise party for my wife. This is an ideal venue for such an occasion, and Richard and Margaret go out of there way to please! The food is excellent, and there is plenty of it! With the champagne and wine flowing freely that night, my wife and I decided to stay the over for B & B, and this turned out to be unbeatable value for money. I am told that this place is fully booked for Sunday lunch right up to the end of September, and it's only May, so this should tell you something! Book up here with confidence, you won't be disappointed!

Located just a few miles south of Bude near Wainhouse Corner, Trencreek Farm House is a must-go. It feels a little strange at first to walk into someone's home for a meal after relaxing in their sitting room, but do not be put off by this. The owners are not only friendly, but also provide excellent service, offering more meat and an extra desert! Wonderful Sunday Roast; the meat from a top quality Cornish butcher. Would certainly recommend. I would definitely advise booking well in advance however, as it seems many people have discovered this fabulous place.

Everyone in the area should visit Richard and Margaret. They are excellent hosts and produce a wonderful experience. The food is delicious, just like my nan used to make. All is home made, we had a mains of roast pork with brilliant roast potatoes and dauphinoise potatoes, Yorkshire pudding with enough veg to feed two very hungry guests. The apple sources and gravy was superb. We also had a choice of puddings which all sounded amazing. My wife and I both went for the cheesecake which was light and creamy. We were so full we could not even managed to fit in the tea and coffee offered at the end. Richard was a very attentive host and we enjoyed talking with him. Margaret is a superb cook and the both of them work very hard to produce great food and a unique experience. It feels like home from home as you are well fed and made to feel so welcome. We will defiantly be returning.

Richard and Margaret are welcoming hosts who make you feel at home straight away. The food is excellent: Delicious home made soups and desserts, roasts with a great selection of fresh vegetables and roast potatoes that are out of this World. It's one of those places that once you've discovered it, you'll just keep wanting to go back again and again!

We were down visiting family. We were taken to Trencreek for a meal to celebrate our Golden wedding anniversary. The food was plentiful, hot & delicious, and the hosts was lovely. We couldn't have chosen a better place to go to for a family meal. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I would recommend coming here to anybody. I cannot recommend it high enough. You will not find better value for money for good quality homemade cooking from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We came here for a special family occasion for an evening meal. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the owners and sat down in our own dining room. The food was amazing from the start to finish. All homemade and fresh. More than ample portions with endless timings for all main courses and desserts. For starter I had homemade chicken liver parfait which was flavoursome and served with a nice side salad and complimenting chutney. For my main course I had roast lamb. I was given a huge amount of meat and crispy Yorkshire pudding. Served to the table were big portions of 3 different vegetables, both roast and dauphinois potatoes, more than ample extra gravy and homemade mint sauce. It was all divine. We had a choice of 5 desserts all of which were delicious. We were offered a cheese board which we declined given how full we already were - but we did see it served to another table and it looked amazing. We then had coffee, tea and chocolate in the lounge. The hosts were generous with all aspects of the evening. All in all it was excellent - I couldn't rate it high enough! Thank you very much indeed.

Although I have been here before, my wife chose this place to throw a suprise 80th Birthday Party for me, with my friends and family. She couldn't have picked a better place! The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. There was a choice of Duck, Pork, Salmon or Vegetarian for the main course, plus various choices of Sweets, with seconds thrown in if desired! All at a good value for money price! This place isn't licensed, so you need to bring your own drink, but that is no real hardship! Just come well prepared, and for those with some distance to travel, bed and breakfast can also be provided! Residents of this area will know this place, but for those less familiar, I can only say that whether it is for a party or just Sunday Lunch, you will have to go a long way to beat this place!

Celebrated wth the in laws for there golden wedding anniversary. There was 10 of us and the food was excellent with 2 different types of meat together with a good selection of vegetables. 10 empty plates. Followed by a good selection of homemade puddings and were even offered seconds and then coffee. Very good setting and ideal for this kind of gathering.

I love this place. the host John and Margret are very help full and friendly. They make you feel very welcome and they mean it. the food is fantastic. I have no problems in recommending this establishment to any one who likes a friendly atmosphere and fantastic food, you will not leave feeling hungry I promise you this .

We have been staying with Richard and Margaret for a number of years. If I put on a special Sunday dinner it is never as bountiful as every meal that Margaret serves. Proper English food done to a very high standard you will not go hungry.It is home from home and Margaret and Richard are the perfect hosts. The only reason I have written this review is because we have booked for this year

This hidden gem is fantastic Nothing is too much trouble one of our party got held up in the fog but they were so accommodating. It's home from home but with far better food !!Thank you for a wonderful evening

I had Sunday lunch here with my partner . We were fitted in at the last minute. It was very busy a lot to cater for all at once but they seem to manage it very well. I would guess most of the people that go here are local people as my boyfriend is. I had not been here before but he used to go there some years ago . We both had roast beef which was delicious with all the trimmings. Good choice of deserts . It was a super meal lovely setting. Richard was very attentive and friendly. This is not really the sort of place that needs a good review because it is so popular and always busy. But I believe in giving Praise where it's due and its certainly due here. Thank you.

This has to be the most welcoming place I've been to... The farmhouse is down a short lane in a beautiful setting. The roast was delicious and you can have a top up of meat if you desire. All the desserts were home made and there were plenty to choose from. Tea and coffee were also included in the price of £12.50 pp. Thank you Trencreek for a wonderful experience.

Have been visiting trencreek for Sunday lunches and evening meals For Probably the last 14yrs, when ever we visit down bude/Boscastle way. Margaret and Richard are very welcoming hosts. The food is always of the highest quality and on occasion Margaret has made spotted Dick on request which is absolutely fantastic. The menus are never complicated, just good home cooked food. They also do B&B here but have never stayed but would love to try the cooked breakfast......

As usual we had a lovely home made meal with wonderful service. Very big portions of meat and a good variety of vegetables. There was a large choice of delicious sweets, followed by a great cheese board. Good quality for a good price as usual! Thank you Richard and Margaret, we will be back!

We were invited by friends to join them for a meal, and wow, what a meal.. The whole dining experience was excellent and they were more than child friendly. in fact we had 6 kids with us and didn't feel we were being hurried out the door as we have been elsewhere. The food was great quality and super portions, the service was friendly and warming. We all left feeling full and happy, will defo be booking in again. Trencreek Farmhouse is at the end of an unnamed lane just north of Wainhouse Corner on the A39 from Camelford to Bude. The farmhouse offers B&B; accommodation but is also open for casual meals - both evenings and lunches.
