A huge rum selection to cater for all tastes. Service was excellent. Decorative benches by previous customers. Outdoor sitting is lovely to enjoy views of Charlestown.

How cool and quirky is this place! A hidden gem of a bar selling hundreds of Rums and Gins! Loved it! Although we only stayed for 1 drink each due to having the children with us! A definite visit and longer stay if child free! We sampled 2 different cherry rums on the rocks! Lush! Friendly business owners! Who even recognised our Midlands accents to the post code nearly! 😂 We can highly rate this business. Go on in! Up the stairs! Don’t be shy! 🍹 🙏🏼 🍹

Great niche bar! If you like rum or gin they have almost everything. Lots of variety on offer served by Andy who has an almost limitless variety of exceptional spirts and the knowledge to go with them. Loved our visit and will return!

Nice pussers rum on ice , in a old clay store . For the the Science Fiction Fans the door to the Ships Tavern, in the BBC adaption of the Tripods 1984 was here. Charming land lord !

You simply must visit The Rum Sailor! Fantastic atmosphere, great owner and such a selection of drinks. Had a lovely evening sitting in the harbour sampling a few rums benefiting from the good weather.

A MUST visit when in Charlestown! Steve will serve you up with anything rum based! And probably anything spirit based!! What a selection 👌 Not much room upstairs so you get chatting to everyone in there which was brilliant! Dog friendly. Dark n Stormy is my new favourite tipple 😁

A little treasure nestled in the harbour wall, with lots of rum and other spirits to choose from. Great idea and it's got a beautiful cosy vibe on the inside with plenty of seating outside to enjoy the harbour view. ☀️ Very knowledgeable and friendly owner, and well worth a visit whether you are a rum enthusiast or a newbie.

Absolutely blown away with the range of rum to offer. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and very informative about the different rums. It Is a place I definitely would recommend to see even if you don't drink alcohol. We called here on our holiday from Northern Ireland, and one of the two gentlemen working used to spend his summer holidays over in Northern Ireland. It has a small area for seating for about 10 and more seating outside.

Super cool place right in the side of the harbor wall! Over 500 rums and 200 gins on offer as well as other spirits. The bartender will set you right if you're not sure which one to pick. Also has awesome illustrations all over the benches. Definitely don't miss this place!

A unique place to visit, sit back and soak up the atmosphere of an old working port whilst sampling a tot or two from the incredible range of rums on offer in this atmospheric bar. Don't just look inside....stop a while and support this exciting little place.

Found this place by mistake.. what a real treasure. Very knowledgeable guy behind the bar talking about the rums they sell.. 555 different bottle acquired over 5 years !! So to say they have a great selection is an understatement !!. Cannot recommend highly enough to pop in for a few cheeky rums 🥃

Lovely little place with character and atmosphere, it’s worth going for even one drink or more to see. We dropped in today and stayed for two drinks and loved it, we didn’t choose our drinks we were happy to be chosen for. Highly recommend. Thank you

Has a unique charm & brilliant atmosphere, as well as a very impressive Rum selection!

Amazing little bar on the side of the bay in Charlestown. Get transported back in time. The size of your living room literally and full of character. Over 500 rums avaliable and 200 gins. You could get whisked away trying them all. Only flaw is it closes 10pm because of where it's based. Definitely recommended! 5*

Very small inside but seating outside, and a brilliant selection of rums!

Really lovely, friendly vibe to this place when we stopped for some lunch. The pizza was superb and rivalled any we've had in Venice or Milan and the accompanying Pina Colada was perfect. I wish we had more time to stick around and sample a few more offerings.

Huge selection of rums available and very knowledgeable staff. They will find you a drink to suit almost any taste. We usually aren’t rum drinkers but after a trip to The Rum Sailor had our horizons greatly broadened and will definitely be making a return visit.

Nice lunch stop here. Plenty of seating by the harbour and a selection of ciabatta fillings for food. Unfortunately the pizzas weren’t available and they don’t do any lattes or cappuccinos only straight coffee, team and hot chocolate. It would have been good to have had the option to add some chips with the toastie just to finish it off

After eating some lunch we stumbled upon this heavenly find! I absolutely adore rum and this quite frankly was heaven! Both owners were in attendance and incredibly friendly and well read on all things rum! The venue itself is phenomenal, quirky and a great place to drink some amazing rum! A must visit for all!

Super cool little bar, amazing selection of rums and the guy behind the bar was really helpful and friendly. Very limited indoor seating so bring a coat and enjoy your rum out in the harbour like a pirate!

With over 350 different rums, a wide selection of gin and vodka, knowledgeable staff and friendly locals, this hole in the wall bar was a great find and the highlight of a recent visit to Charlestown. Don't miss it!

More of an experience than a bar! Beautiful location set in the harbourside of Charlestown, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about their VAST range of spirits. If you aren't sure what to pick you can play 'Battleships' for a random choice! Great fun and a relaxed vibe, can't wait to come back soon!

Visited twice over the May Bank weekend. What an experience - where to begin? It was a beautiful sunny afternoon and inebriation was on our horizon.  We had just pulled into Charlestown and was looking for a sunny spot to sink some Cidres in the sun.  However, whilst working our way through the second pint we remembered that there was no toilet paper in our AirBnB. When owner / operator Ash came over and asked for our next order we mentioned to him that we had to leave because we needed to drive to the Lidl to get more toilet paper.  Ash noted to us that his office was just across the road and he would happily grab some bogroll for us. In a flash, the man in the yellow hoodie whipped across the road and returned with a high-quality three ply quilted (and seashell patterned) toilet roll. It was a delight to use. As for the drinks - they were equally as bespoke and high quality as the toilet paper.  With over 223 rums to choose from you are spoilt for choice. The gents working at the bar are super knowledgeable and very happy to recommend a drink combo.  Our group was not all huge rum drinkers, but the guys were happy to help out and recommend different flavor combinations to make some delicious cocktails. Could not recommend highly enough - beautiful setting right on the Harbour, great service and excellent booze.  Will definitely be back.

Brilliant night in this quaint bar tucked into an old China clay chute in Charlestown Harbour. The owners are very friendly and the service was exceptional. Thanks guys for a great night!!

Had a great evening here. Matt behind the bar was full of recommendations and ideas for how to progress our rum journey over the course of the evening. Small, intimate venue which certainly deserves another visit. Allowed us to bring our harbour BBQ food in to eat too. Thoroughly recommend an evening here.

Had a very nice rum and mocktail (for those driving). The bar tenders were nice and gave a cool story about the name. They gave us cool drinks after just asking what we were after and was a great little evening stop in Charlestown

A Diamond in the rough as they say. This gem of a bar and the delightful hosts put a smile on my face, and some quality rums on my tongue. It’s cozy, and well worth a visit.

Fantastic selection of Rum and Gin and the Pimms is the best, worth every penny!! Staff are very friendly and funny. Deck chairs are super comfy and have the best view to sit enjoy your drink...what more could you want for a night out!!

What a find. Stumbled on Rum Sailor last night (literally and figuratively) and was welcomed by the founding team - local friends with a shared love of good rum and nice people. Sitting on top of the little port, looking back at, what is effectively the set of Poldark, the worlds smallest bar (by 28ft, we’re told) is definitely one to break from the well trodden path and make a visit. A passion for rum not required for visitors - the team has plenty for everyone. On colder days I can imagine it providing the essential “tot” of rum for the more adventurous low tide, pier jumpers. All in all a very little bar shrouded in loveliness.
