Tasty cream scone and jam and good pot of tea. Quality coffee. But the miniscule portion of cheese with very tasty cheese scone and pickles was insulting.A thin triangle of cheese that didn't cover 1/4 of the scone.

I had to wait about 30 minutes for my late Sunday lunch, but the fish and salad was totally worth it. The restaurant was quite busy, but I'll definitely be back next time I visit Cornwall. The succulent plant shop next door was also amazing - they had a huge range of species, including some rare collections. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves indoor plants.

Lovely little restaurant/café with delicious food in a beautiful green setting. We came with someone with fairly severe dietary restrictions expecting for them not to be able to eat, but the staff were fantastic and worked out something bespoke, as well as going through all the ingredients in detail to make sure it would be alright. Great food and great service.

We had beer battered fish and chips. The batter and fish were good but, sadly, they hadn’t bothered to skin the fish which is fine if you’re just having a fillet but doesn’t go well with batter as it can’t be removed. The chips were obviously bought in and thrown in hot fat until they were dry. The service was good but it was pretty noisy with loud music. As locals we were very disappointed as this used to be an excellent place to eat.

Absolutely amazing food, we had a selection and everything was brilliant. Starters, mains and puddings. The staff were absolutely incredible, made you feel at home instantly and extremely comfortable. We have a reactive dog and when he was barking we moved tables, they said we didn't need to and it was fine but we were more comfortable doing so. They totally understood the issue and made sure we were fine and comfortable. Felt like you were talking to people who cared about the job and the customers from start to finish.

Turned up to be told they couldn't find our our booking. I explained I'd booked on line for brunch, only to be told that they were no longer serving breakfast. I queried why we were allowed to book for breakfast at 11.15 and the response was that we were late! I agreed that we were indeed 5 minutes late and explained that I had phoned to say that we were running late, but couldn't get an answer and so had to leave a message. Its such a shame because we regularly frequent and promote this restaurant, but we will not be returning due to the manner in which we were treated. Unhelpful and unpleasant!

My daughter and I went here on a Monday afternoon in the winter and the restaurant was busy. We chose the Buttermilk Turkey burger, being Christmas time, and it was absolutely delicious. The battered crumb mix around the turkey breast was amazing, crunchy and flavoursome with melted Gruyère cheese on top and pickled red cabbage and caramelised onion chutney underneath, it was truly mouth watering. The menu had a good selection of choice and the sweet selection amazing. We had the warm brownie with raspberry sorbet to share, as we were so full but needed a sweet finish. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was full, however we were well looked after. This was our second visit, albeit years apart with still a high standard achieved. A real wood fire going to create atmosphere and keep the room warm. A delight.

The most amazing experience, god I wish all service was as friendly and attentive as tremenheere kitchen. The girls working the day we went couldn’t have been nicer. Everything arrived beautifully presented and tasted delicious and fresh. Can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back. After exploring the most magical gardens we were greeted with huge smiles from the staff. We were lucky the sun was out so we got to sit on the terrace. The food arrived quickly as did the drinks, we asked for recommendations out of the fish choices and both opted for the crab linguine. Absolutely delicious and made even better by a glass of French rosè, someone knows their wine as it was top notch. We asked for coffees after and our waitress kept an eye on us and waited for us finish our wine before delivering delicious fresh ground coffees. Although this sounds obvious our waitresses attention to detail made the experience seamless for us. All in all a fantastic experience and we will for sure return again. In short, don’t miss out on this place, you can visit without using the garden so makes a great place just to pop in. I recommend calling ahead and booking! I’d give 10 stars if I could.

So disappointed. Usually Tremenheere offers a varied menu of delicious, creative dishes in sensible quantities. The Spring 2022 offering is huge portions of the sort of boring food you can get anywhere - think fish and chips, steak and chips, a grossly oversized croque monsieur and a couple of very basic vegan dishes. It didn’t help that the mains took almost an hour to arrive and the server forgot to pass on our order for coffee

We were excited to come and visit here as we had not been before and it was our first day off in a couple of months. It took us a couple of hours to get to the gardens and so we were ready for a cup of tea or coffee and a bit of cake by the time we arrived. It was just before noon and there was lots of space outside as it was not a great day weatherwise. We were just waiting to get to the counter when we were called to one side by a lady and asked what we wanted. When we said just a couple of teas and a piece of cake we were told that they would not serve us as they were getting ready to serve lunch and expecting to be inundated, although it was not busy at the time. She then looked awayin what we felt to be a very dismissive manner. If a cafe cannot manage to deliver a cup of tea it is a pretty poor show and we were so disappointed that we did not feel like paying to have a look at the gardens after this. Instead, we went to The Wayside cafe at Zennor where the staff did seem plaesed to see us. We had a nice light lunch there and then spent the afternoon at Trengwainton Gardens so the day tuned out well for us in the end!

I’m only giving three stars as I ordered the tortillas and they turned out to be deep fried (our Mexican ancestors wept in their graves). It tasted like the oil hadn’t been changed for a long time and most of them were very very crispy and dark brown (ie overdone). I politely told the waitress that perhaps it would be worth mentioning on the menu that this was a deep fried dish, but she didn’t seem too concerned and just said “I’ll pass it on”. It ate half the food and still feel sick two hours later from all the oil. On a positive note, the setting is beautiful and there were lots of vegetarian options on the menu. Great drinks options too.

Our only regret about our visit to the kitchen was we wished we had visited sooner on our holiday so were only able to make one visit. The cafe is in a beautiful location by the sculpture gardens. There is plenty of outside seating, some of which is under shelter, important if you are visiting with dogs and the weather isn’t at it’s best, or is at it’s best and you need some shade. The food’s OK, and not overpriced. What lets the place down is the noisy staff member ( owner?). I know it’s a greasy spoon, but still, one should be able to eat and hear oneself think in relative peace. I sit outside if possible.
