Treleavens Ice Cream Shop Restaurant in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Visited yesterday with the grandchildren. The woman serving had a strange idea of customer service or even reasonable manners. She gave the impression she was doing me a favour by serving me. She was abrupt and didn’t use a please or thank you once. The portions of ice cream were the smallest I’ve ever seen served in a shop and frankly the ice cream was poor and full of ice crystals. Obviously as you would expect it was not cheap so my advice is avoid at all cost. There are plenty of good vendors in Looe so I suggest you give this one a miss.

Pas de goût, pas de texture, trop de sucre (vegan mint choc chip et lime cheescake). Bonne quantité (mauvais point quand on aime pas) et cône très bon

The lady serving was actually sitting outside eating when we arrived. She served us quickly. Was disappointed in the quantity, price and quality. Would not return.

Vegan chocolate ice cream exceeded expectations. Unbelievably creamy and delicious. Will be coming back again!

Not all icecreams are the same! This one is delicious and of high quality. Are made true with cornish dairy.

I walked from Trebarwith just to visit Treleavens (5 mile round trip) and was happy that I did. A great selection of delicious icecreams served up by a helpful assistant (who went out back to source a flavour that wasn't on display) . I had two helpings to fuel me on my marathon trek. :)

I popped in after being enticed by the variety of flavours on the board outside. The staff were really chatty and friendly (and patient as I debated which flavour to opt for!). I chose Millionaire Shortbread (with huge chunks of dark chocolate).. mouth watering! The best ice cream I've ever had outside of Italy, and even a tough match for Italian gelato! My partner was adamant he didn't want an ice cream but, after trying mine, he queued up separately to buy himself one too. Absolutely delicious! Wish I lived near enough to have one every day!

The best ice cream!!Came here with family of 4, 2 coconut, 1 chocolate and 1 mint choc chip. So many flavours to choose from. The ice cream was fantastic, nice little shop and all the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend and would come back here if I was down Tintagel way again.

Visited today & asked for a GF waffle cone. Owners were extremely helpful & diligent. Used a fresh scope & started a new tub of my chosen flavour ( which they checked was GF) haven’t enjoyed an ice Cream so much for such a long time. Highly recommend.

Probably the best ice cream I’ve had outside of Italy (& would rival some of those!). I had a ginger and cinnamon crunch and my husband had the chocolate cherry. Both were absolutely delicious! Unfortunately we couldn’t get into Tintagel to look at the ruins because of a 90 min wait due to overcrowding, but this ice cream made it all worthwhile.

Popped in whilst holidaying in the area. Plenty of flavours to choose from! I had the Cornish cream tea & thunder and lightning. Both very good. - - - - - - - I’ve only given 4 stars as we thought it was on the expensive side.

Will never come here again lady who serve us kept coughing over our drinks made my wife ill for rest of our trip both pot of tea and coffee were warm unfortunately we will not be returning here next year

The large range of different flavoured ice creams will not let you down here. Definitely worth calling in

Was lovely visiting this ice cream shop. And as if the ice cream isn’t delicious enough you can add a scoop of clotted cream to the top !! Amazing flavours.

We stopped off here on our journey home from holiday. Not only was there a gluten free cone available but also the gentleman serving made sure that a new tub of my chosen flavour was opened so that there was no risk of cross contamination. That for me deserves high praise indeed. All ice cream sellers should take a leaf out of Treleavens book. Thank you 😊

Popped in for a taste of this delicious ice cream and wasn’t disappointed but having spent almost £8 on 2 double cones was very disappointed when I asked them to fill my water bottle with tap water only to be told I could buy a bottle!!

Quite simply, the New York Lime cheesecake ice cream was the best I have ever tasted. Great selection of first class ice cream.

The only problem here is choosing which one to buy. There are more than 33 flavours and many of them are exotic! How about chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream? Truly! I settled for rhubarb crumble and clotted cream, and it was delicious. £2 for one scoop. And served with a smile.

Brilliant icecream offered here - I had the Millionaire's Shortbread, my partner had the Banana. Both flavours were lovely - not too much cream, and not too sweet - the flavour hits you first, a mark of good quality to me!

Excellent for gluten free, they washed the scoop to ensure no cross contamination and have gluten free cones! Yummy ice cream

Great place good options. Very tasty. Normal price. Fudge an option on top I stead of a flake which I was pleased about. Recommend highly. Only Downside was minimal seating and Inside store was warm.

Came in for ice cream. Struggled to choose which flavours to try as there was about 20 of them to choose from! The ice cream was delicious, not too sweet or overly loaded with cresm taste.

Visited when walking the coastal path. Returned the next day because it was so good. Nice to be able to sit and enjoy the ice cream. Lovely variety of flavours,cinnamon ginger was particularly good and the blueberry yogurt. Will definitely return.

We have e joyed sampling Cornish ice cream. This product has won awards so we tried it.and were very satisfied.

Stopped here for ice creams for the family. My mum is a coeliac has to have everything gluten free and has to be quite strict. When we mentioned this to the young lady that served us she knew everything about gluten free which was very refreshing (as a lot of places look at you blank) The server also went to extra lengths to make sure my mums ice cream wasn’t contaminated. So hence the 5 star impressed review for great staff. Of course a great tasty selection of ice creams as well.

Lots of flavours available, I went for white chocolate, butterscotch and a pistachio. 3 scoops in a chocolate topped cone with a fudge stick. Two of them was over £10 but it’s was a nice ice cream. Ok treat if your willing to pay.

Strangely we did not try the ice cream but spent a pleasant 1/2 hour watching people pass by while enjoying an excellent pasty and coffee. Good friendly service and excellent refreshments well worth stopping.

Ice cream was good but the older women who served us was not putting a smile on her face at all and I didn't feel welcome at all, wasn't even busy one person sitting at a table and me and my girlfriend ordering would understand...

Este tiene que ser el mejor tienda de helados que hemos visitado. El personal es muy amable y tienen un gran conocimiento de todos los helados que tienen para ofrecer. Los precios son muy razonables y los sabores son increíbles. Tuvimos que volver 4 veces en la última semana porque había muchos sabores que queríamos probar.

My partner and I decided to try Cornish ice cream as it looked good.We have noticed that the man didn't use any gloves or tissue but just his hands to serve the ice cream in corn.We decided to still buy ice cream but in a cup.We have asked to try couple of flavours, the man was very annoyed with us.During the serving time, some ice cream from one flavor fell on top of another flavor, the man picked up this piece of ice cream with his hand and put back to the right flavor ice cream.It's up to you to decide whether this place is right for you.Flavor was ok chocolate had a bit of ice in it though.

I was recommended to make a stop here by a colleague and was rewarded with some very creamy ice-cream as a treat on a hot day. Lots of flavours to choose from, I recommend pistachio and blackcurrant!

Treleavens Ice Cream Shop is well worth a stop. the ice cream is smooth and delicious and the counter staff is friendly. A nice afternoon delight.

There must be an export ban on shipping this stuff out of Cornwall because I've never tasted anything so good anywhere else. Same goes for Tribute and pasties as well. This place is right next to the car park and you will need the energy if going up to Tintagel castle.

On the hottest day if the summer 2016 after a long trek to Tintagel and back we deserved ice cream and lots of it. There are lots of places to choose from and we spent time choosing as my husband thinks he's an ice cream expert and I only have some occasionally so it needs to be good. We totally made the best choice.The servers were not only friendly but told us about how the ice creams are made, got a feel for the types of flavours we liked individually and then offered us samples! Based upon all of this we were then able to make great choices - there is a lot of choice and some flavours that were new to us. I can't praise the staff enough as they really knew the flavours and were great guides!We had enormous ice creams of various flavours and it was so good that I don't remember the price (I usually do, especially if I'm not that excited by it).If you like ice cream you should definitely go to Treleavens!

Popped in for a toasted sarnie, pasty & coffee. Followed by ice-cream. There's a million fantastic flavours to chose from. Unbelievable and unique choices. The owners & staff are welcoming & very friendly. We LOVE this place.

A wide range of flavours to choose from in a variety of cones. They even had gluten-free cones and dairy-free sorbet, which is great for my family, so nobody feels left out.

This really is the best ice cream I've found. The flavours are amazing...we wanted to try all of them but I think we might have had tummy ache.It's a shame it's so far away. Please can you open one in Wales??

Best ice cream in Cornwall! And gluten free options too! We always stop off here when we are im Cornwall. They have a fab range of flavours and cones both traditional and exotic. We tried ginger, toffee, rhubarb, and cream tea. All delicious! Also they know what is gluten free and have gluten free cones. The women in the shop were helpful and knowledgeable about it even using a separate scoop. Would recommend!

Bought my son a bubblegum ice cream from here, he choose the teddy bear cone, they do many more cones but charge 50p - £2 on top of the £2.80 for the teddy bear cone. Price all depends on the cone you choose,

This place is fantastic. They have the best ice cream in Cornwall and a variety of wonderful flavours. Their flavours are unique and delicious, I'd recommend ginger and lime cheesecake

Been going a lot over the years. Bewildering array of flavours, and I have never found one I didn't like. Today was 1 scoop each of orange mascara one, salted caramel, and butterscotch pecan. Son (triple chocolate) votes it the best flavour ever.

We stopped off to buy water and bread, and ended up stumbling across Treleavens Ice Cream. We weren't planning on having anything to eat, but got tempted by the flavours on offer. We both chose a double waffle cone with Lime Cheesecake and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavours. Both were divine! The Lime flavour was so refreshing it was unbelievable, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter was full of chunky pieces of chocolate and peanuts, and was very satisfying. We couldn't stop remarking on how tasty, creamy and amazing these ice creams were! By far the best in Cornwall.

What lovely ice cream, simply delicious! Can recommend the Lime Cheesecake flavour - very refreshing! The lady serving us was very friendly and patient. Simply perfect!

Can be found at Rick Steins shop in Padstow. Worth a trip to Padstow for this beautiful ice cream. We all tried different flavours: The raspberry pavlova was gorgeous; the mango sorbet divine; the lemon meringue beautiful & the chocolate fantastic. Have struggled to find such good ice cream in North Cornwall & we were starting to feel disappointed so this was a real find. Yum!

This is a really cosy place to stop by and treat yourself after the dreaded uphill trek from Tintagel Castle. I was delighted with the amazing range of ice-cream available and it's cosy atmosphere. The sitting place is tiny, you can seat probably max 8 pax around the shop. They do sell biscuits and other tid bits too.

Ducked in here to get out of the rain before visiting Tintagel castle. Had two coffees sitting on the sofa, which were in good sized cups and tasted authentically Italian. When the rain cleared we visited the castle which is not to be missed as quite spectacular. On return we popped in for ice creams which were excellent with unusual flavours. Rubarb crumble and clotted cream, Turkish delight, salted peanut and key lime cheesecake. Really friendly staff. Normal prices for the tourist route.

That's a big claim but we have yet to find anywhere better. Everytime we visit Cornwall we make a bee line for this place. Just love it!

Wow, great selection of Cornish Ice Cream, after a walk back up from the Castle it was a well placed respite! Loads of flavours to choose from. Also serve a good espresso. Very friendly & helpful patient with the kids being fussy even with a busy shop & queue behind.

Stopped here for a quick break on our way back from Tintagel Castle.Ice cream was really tasty and loads of different flavours (probably 20+). I had sticky toffee fudge and lemon meringue, while my boyfriend had salted caramel and coffee latte chocolate.Only downfall was the price (£3.50 for two scoops) which I thought was quite expensive (being a local and visiting many ice cream places in the surrounding area)

Following a beautiful coastal walk with the family we returned to Tintagel to collect the car. Theodore our son had walked nine km at aged three and we promised him an ice cream as a reward he wasn't disappointed, vanilla for Theo and I had salted caramel which I would highly recommend lovely spot with great staff.

We managed to visit three Treleavens in three days - Polperro, Looe and Tintagel. Tintagel's is probably the nicest but they all sell amazing ice creams. We would recommend the ginger and the millionaires shortbread especially.

Take it from someone with a mild lactose intolerance: this ice cream is totally worth any potential tummy discomfort you may suffer! Strictly speaking about food, it's one of the best ice creams I've had in a looong time and the millionaire shortbread one definitely made it straight into my top 3 ever! The cone is also beautiful and, speaking of the place, it's just lovely. The owners are ever so kind, the place is really nice and when the sun comes in to warm the tables it's just about the best you can have in a rainy and windy Cornish day!

Visited here on 16th February 2016 with my 15 year old daughter. We had just trudged up following a visit to Tintagel Castle and were in need of refreshment. Daughter had an ice cream milkshake and I had tea and a teacake. Service was very quick and friendly. Lovely touch with the tea was a slice of fudge instead of the usual biscuit! Daughter loved her milkshake. Plan to return in the summer when ice cream season as the ice creams look amazing. Thank you for the perfect end to a lovely day out! We will return!

After a week of Cornish ice cream I am an ice cream expert : )). Don't waste your time, head here. They have about 30 flavors and i tried several with friends. All amazing. My personal favorite is the coconut.

Came in here after the long walk back up the hill from the cove in Tintagel, wonderful Icecream I had the strawberries and cream flavour, absolutely delicious. would thoroughly recommend!

I'm new to trip advisor, so after getting slightly addicted I used it to plan my holiday in tintagel. I seen the previous post about the staff being rude, this put me off a little. But then as I went on to read other great reviews I thought I would give it a go. And I'm so glad we did!!.....the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome, they offer an amazing selection of ice creams and a ridiculous amount of flavours! I had 3 scoops because I just couldn't choose. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Cornwall. Thank you treleavens!! See you soon.

Visited with family and felt pretty unwelcome.when paying for my ice creams I asked for a bit of change for the car park and they refused. I later saw the manageress roll eyes with the girl behind the counter as the rest of my family hadn't ordered anything yet. A bit of customer service wouldn't go amiss. With regards to the ice creams, not bad but a bit sloppy and melt very quickly. Won't be returning.

Feeling hungry after a good walk around the town, stopped in for a cornish pasty and tea. Sat outside and enjoyed people watching and had a good rest. Lovely pasty and great pot of tea. watching everyone with their ice creams made us want one. The home made ice cream is lovely.

Spotted a sign advertising gluten free and went in! My daughter had lots of different flavours of ice creams to choose from she was in heaven! And to top it off she then had a cheese and onion pie, we wish our holiday was longer so we could go back for more!

My husband, who is totally indifferent to food, voluntarily exclaimed, "This is the best ice cream I've ever eaten!" I concur.

A group of us-three adults and a young child-visited Tintagel in the last week of July, and called in here for a pre-castle cuppa, and it was so lovely we returned later for lunch and to sample the truly impressive approximately 40 flavours of ice -cream! the sandwiches were freshly-made and generously-filled, the pasties a delight. The ice-creams all looked so appealing but I finally decided on a fab-looking cherry ice-cream over a gooseberry fool! The owners are an attractive couple who were charming and attentive. They hadn't been there long but I'm sure with them at the helm this place will grow and grow. It has a fresh, clean and trendy décor, and the service and fare are truly impressive. Can't recommend it highly enough!!

What can I say about Treleavens... A wonderfully refreshing cup of tea and ice cream for the kids, staff were ever so friendly. They have been there for three weeks and are looking to hire more staff!

Made with real Cornish cream. Don't forget to add a chocolate flake for an added treat! The service is friendly, too.

This is a real gem that I first came across reading reviews on TripAdvisor when planning this my latest trip to Cornwall. It is difficult enough sometimes being vegetarian, but when you add gluten free to the mix as well it becomes well nigh impossible. Well, not at this place, as there are not one but two different varieties of pasty pie to choose from as well as I am told, delicious gluten free ice creams. When we arrived at 12 noon, sadly the pies were waiting to be cooked, so we placed our order for 2 cheese and vegetable and went off to explore the village. They were well worth waiting for and a real treat, light and flaky with everything you would expect from a good Cornish pasty except of course the meat. I can't comment on the ice creams, as by the time we had eaten our pies there was no room left, but we had the opportunity to try Treleavens ice cream elsewhere in tubs, which I can highly recommend.

Today we visited tintagel with the family and came across this ice cream shop. I was speaking to the owners who have only just took over the place this weekend. They were extremely friendly, and the ice cream is to die for. Definitely recommend the banana split ice cream after one of there homemade sandwiches!. We will definitely be returning again. (Maybe tomorrow) ;)

It was a wonderful surprise to find this shop, the gluten free pies were excellent and they also offered dairy free ices in gluten free cones

Family tried several flavours from the extensive choice offered.ALL were superb and VERY tasty. Like the fact that there is a 'diabetic vanilla'Nice that someone is thinking of more people who may enjoy a treat of an ice cream.

Anyone who has eaten gf products will know that the majority are nothing like the 'real thing' - wrong texture, flavour and expensive. It is a real treat to come across these Pasty-Pies as they are good pies, full of filling and seriously good pastry AND at a sensible price.

This is a little gem! My husband often wishes he could eat Cornish Pasties and has even been know to buy one and try to scoop the middle out as he can't have the pastry! This was such a discovery as he could eat all of it. He enjoyed them so much that he bought a whole case of them to take home..
