Found this delightful upstairs cafe by chance and had some of the best vegetarian food for a long time. We were made very welcome and chose the hummus bowl and roasted veg toasted sandwich. Both were excellent and very filling.

Such a little gem of a place for a coffee and cake, or even light lunches. Only a few tables - half a dozen or so, maybe, but the staff are friendly, service is good and very reasonably priced, in my opinion. Ideally situated in the centre of Truro, right next to the local theatre, the Hall for Cornwall, and being upstairs has good views of Truro Cathedral too.

Came here to eat with a friend who lives locally. Not sure I’d have noticed it by myself, tucked away above a very tempting shop. Cosily decorated and with very comfortable seating, I felt at home straight away and really enjoyed the whole experience. Pleasant staff and delicious food. I’d love to return to sample the cakes. I had a chai latte which I’d never had before and it was so nice. I chose the frittata, my friend the smashed avocado with feta. I look forward to returning.

Welcoming and friendly staff, excellent tea, coffee and cakes. Lovely decor and atmosphere. What more could you ask for? Freshly brewed loose leaf tea (a rare treat), flavourful coffee and great cakes, all baked on the premises by the staff. Also open until 5pm, when most other places are closed. Just great. Thank you!

Have come here over the years now and again and always found it friendly. Snacks and teas/coffees are okay and it bills itself as a small independent. However, today, my friend had a problem ordering some drinks and a brownie and I heard her saying 'yes of course I have money in my bank account'. I went up to the till at the point that the assistant said 'I don't know what it is that YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND!' Apparently, she was required to put her card into the payment machine - but she didn't have a card with her - she was paying on her phone and had told the assistant that normally, a pin number suffices. Needless to say, on hearing this rude response from one of the assistants (seconded, I might add, by an older member of staff who really should have known better) I just said 'let's go!'. We left and went to the Wetherspoons where my friend was required to put a pin number in when paying with her phone. So, this is absolutely Uneeka's problem with their payment system and they are rude and accusatory to customers trying to pay and support a smaller independent business. We got friendly service and cheaper food/drinks at the Wetherspoons. I don't know how Uneeka deals with other people - as I work with lots of teenagers, I know that most of them don't even carry cards or cash - they just pay with phones (and sometimes pin numbers) everywhere they go. Will never go in there again. Thanks for showing who you really are Uneeka! Cheers.

Best Cafe in Truro. First off - the coffee here is ridiculously good, easily the best I’ve had in Cornwall and it’s very fairly priced as well. The cakes on offer change frequently and never disappoint, and the lunch menu is interesting and creative. The staff complete the brilliant experience, they are friendly, attentive and always on the ball. It would be silly to miss a trip to Cafe Uneeka if you’re looking for a top-notch coffee shop.

Haven’t visited this establishment for sometime but was disappointed having returned. I ordered the cheese and mushroom toastie which was small but pleasant. My wife ordered the crushed avocado and feta cheese toastie on sourdough toasted bread. When it arrived the toppings were on a piece of toasted brown bread. When this issue was raised she said that the cafe had run out of sourdough bread so gave her brown bread instead. Wrong people, go back to the customer and tell them the situation and ask if they would be happy with an alternative. One of my biggest bugbears is uncovered cakes etc around the till area meaning food is exposed to people breathing and even touching over the unprotected food. There were about three plates of such food around the till area. For me the final disappointment for me was when the lady behind the counter took some blue tissue and blew her nose. No attempt was then made to wash her hands. Won’t visit again.

Visited on a hot day in August about 1130am. Lunch menu didn’t start until 12 noon and chef wasn’t around to cook any hot food. Bang goes my long awaited poached eggs… Staff in the restaurant were quite snooty and not very friendly. Food was ok but limited. Redeeming feature was the shop and staff downstairs. Popped in at lunchtime. It’s a lovely light airy cafe overlooking Boscawen Street. The food is simple and tasty. We both enjoyed home-made hummus sandwiches and really good coffee. The cakes looked delicious and many of the menu options can be made vegan or gluten-free. In an age where good service seems to be rare, the service here was friendly and efficient. We found this lovely cafe via Tripadvisor and initially it was packed out so we came back 20 mins later and managed to get a table for lunch. I had honey mustard chicken on gluten free bread and the other half had spicy Moroccan hummus. Both delicious. We also had great coffee. I had the most amazing gluten free lemon and blueberry cake yesterday at this delightful hidden cafe. There was so much to choose from and they all looked so enticing so I will certainly be back to try the rest in due time because the cake was well risen and moist with a beautiful texture. Only people who have to eat gluten free food for health reasons will really understand why I’m so happy to find this cafe . The cafe is tucked away above the Uneeka shop it’s quiet and relaxing with a rustic feel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it has the qualities of an old fashioned tea shop. I am surprised that this is not more highly ranked in Truro. It is an independent with a focus on unusual healthy vegetarian foods although does have meat options too. I am a happy carnivore by the way. When we last came to Truro for the day in 2016 we had lunch here and wanted to return because we enjoyed it so much. Little had changed, we had a ham & pear chutney sandwich (came with a home made coleslaw and rainbow beetroot salad) and the vegetable board which included falafel, beetroot pesto, hummus, olives, goats cheese & roasted vegetables; healthy and delicious. The little touches like roasted pumpkin seeds in the salad make all the difference. All was fresh and delicious although kids probably would have preferred more traditional fare (not Uneeka’s fault). One minor improvement for the cafe would be to replace the sliced bread in the boards with a flat bread which would fit with the style of food better. The cafe has a view of the Cathedral and a good selection of unusual soft drinks. Not cheap but probably a fair price given the effort & prep invested. Don’t expect pages of menu items but I recommend Uneeka if you like healthy vegetarian food, and even if you don’t.

Terrible pun. Sorry. Not Sorry. On the plus side...this is a really great Café and the shop below is also something quite quaint if you fancy it! The coffee takes a little longer than your average chain, but that's most certainly a good thing, and is carefully and beautifully made by the friendly Barista's. Safe to say both the coconut-rice milk Latte and Chai Latte we ordered were delicious! However, perhaps even more impressive though was the food we had! I had the Vegan Orange Cake, which was honestly one of the best cakes I've tasted. It was moist and more-ish and had a subtle, light orange zest throughout, and was basically something you'd be proud to take to the bakeoff. As for the Raw Vegan Bar, it was deliciously moist and sweet, chewy and with just the right amount of crunch. Basically it was like an edible version of your hopes and dreams. So, to sum up, yes, yes you definitely should go to Cafe Uneeka. Right now.

We were visiting Truro whilst on holiday in Cornwall and walked past the shop, we then saw that they had a cafe upstairs but it was full and so we just browsed the shop until a space became free - well worth the short wait, there were 5 of us, 4 of us decided to share both the cheese board for 2 and the meat board for 2, they were both amazing, great quality and very impressed, staff were friendly and polite. Couldn't resist the white chocolate chip brownies so had to get some to takeaway - amazingly gooey

Cafe Uneeka is what it is, a coffee shop. Quirky - like thisI must go down to Trurra again, to Cafe Uneeka and the sky;I need my breakfast and coffee there - I wonder if they're dry? (adapted from Spike Milligan)Seriously, probably the best sit-down coffee in Truro, a tempting range of cakes, biscuits and other goodies, now made in-house. However, it's porridge for me and made to order, sultanas et al. sweeting it and always creamy. The ambiance, well that's airy and quirky, some offerings out as to deco from the shop below and always changing - even including the tables and chairs, the place looking to impart a sense of fun and semi-madness.The staff, all young and friendly, the customers - well some of us are mad as a box of frogs and what would you expect, chats and laughter often breaking out between tables. All but that person below who wrote a damning review - well that probably was a frog. Keep it up , Uneeka guys and gals,

Coffee not great. but they are among the majority there, For good coffee find somewhere that does Origin coffee such as 108 in Truro or the new Inner Tide cafe at 21 Pydar street who do their own blend and make an excellent coffee to rival Origin. However, most places just make coffee far too weak, so you can't even assess it properly.Service was fine but the place was lacking in character and atmosphere. There are places I much prefer to buy a coffee from and sit in.There are so many coffee shops, they need to offer something special. Good coffee is the minimum requirement, then good service coupled with an inviting atmosphere and interesting environment. This is just ..... average.

Nothing special in any way, and certainly not the best coffee shop in truro, that award goes to 108.

This is my first choice for coffee in Truro. Great coffee and wonderful array of cakes. The toasted tea cake is very special - as is the cinnamon bread. Light and delicious-looking lunches. Quirky atmosphere. Take a window seat and watch the world go by, or take your laptop and get on with some work, or simply read the papers.

A nice little teashop above a gift shop in Truro. A decent offering of cakes, bakes and slices are on offer here to accompany your tea or coffee (of which there is a vast selection), but I was disappointed not to be able to order any savoury food at around 3pm. I love to support smaller independent cafes but if you want to compete with the Costa's of this world you have to consider a more flexible offering. Will try to arrive earlier next time I visit Truro, but with that holiday traffic along the A303 and A30 it's an unpredictable beast.

When I passed this place I thought it looked almost painfully twee it was so trendy but I was actually really pleasantly surprised! My coeliac friend was delighted with their wide selection of gluten free sandwiches, cakes and even pancakes (which we thoroughly enjoyed). The selection of teas was also good and I felt that it was all very reasonably priced. I'm not local but would certainly go again if I was in the area.

Very welcoming, Great ice cream flavours. Especially the Ferrero Roche and Millionaires shortbread. Lady went above and beyond for our dog letting her sit in the shade on a 25 degree day to enjoy her pup cup. Thank you!

the only place open on a Sunday on St Martins! So glad it was open, it was absolutely heaving but we got there in time to get seats and what was left of the cakes and drinks.
