Treasury Cafe Bar Restaurant in Plymouth

First time visiting with myself and a friend - booked a table online for food for Saturday night. Great atmosphere & music, food was great, lovely waitresses who were smiley and friendly, cocktails were delicious too. Enjoyed a lively meal and was right in the party mood when we left - will definitely be returning soon! X

We came here last night for cocktails (Tuesday 11th march) and were really enjoying our cocktails, there was a good atmosphere and it was pretty busy (over 20 people) enjoying cocktails. Shame to have been told last orders at 8:45 pm and rushed out by 9pm when the closing time was 2 hours later. If it was dead I would understand but it was very busy and everyone went over to buy cocktails when hearing last orders. Not very good for business personally as a lot more money could have been made. When the younger bartender was asked by someone why they were closing so early he simply said “because they wanted too” shame as the cocktails were yummy but not sure I’ll be back.

Bright and airy place with vibrant feel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Not so cheap for drinks. Can't rate food as didn't have any.

Booked for lunch, the venue is great with a relaxed atmosphere, the service was attentive and friendly although the food took a long time to arrive - The mozzarella, pesto and tomato open sandwich wasn’t open, the toast was burned in places and there was way too much pesto, had to scrape some off to make it edible - The burger was ok, quite tasty but had some underlying unadvertised spicy sauce which was more than I expected / wanted Overall a slightly disappointing experience

Went in for a couple of drinks at around 5.30 on 16 Jan 25.Only stayed for 1 as so cold.People eating their meals with coats on ,crazy .To me not enjoyable so we left .

Nice clean place with good food

Nice place far too expensive to eat . And it was cold inside. I had to put my coat back on. A bowl stew was £19.00.

Wasn't very inviting and don't have a good selection of drinks seems to be for the upper class people

Absolutely unbelievable service last night, a rare statement from me considering I have coeliac disease and hate eating out due to a lack of awareness and understanding of the condition. We were wonderfully looked after - above and beyond - by our waitress Emma and chef JP. I genuinely can’t remember feeling so relaxed and safe eating out - not to mention the food was beyond delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic!!

Afternoon tea very disappointing. Not enough for two people, no GF cakes available. Won't go again.

I enjoyed the food, service and the atmosphere, but my seat was a little too hard to sit on for well over an hour and so I asked a female waitress for a softer chair and I received the same and I was then happy for my duration of my stay in the restaurant!

Absolutely superb venue the staff are amazing and friendly the decor is fantastic and the food is exquisite from a coffee & slice of cake to dinner the food is superb the chef's are fantastic....

We had a lovely meal made with good quality ingredients at a reasonable price. The service was very good and we stayed for the Halloween quiz night. Had a fun night.

The Treasury is a multi purpose venue, which is a great place for food and drinks during the day,l and an amazing events space upstairs downstairs and down in the evenings, where you can see awesome bands and have great cocktails, drinks and food. The Treasury can be hired for weddings, parties and corporate events and they always make the place look extra special. Top marks to an amazing venue. X

A cool space with a great cocktail selection

An absolutely fabulous venue. We were looking for a nice place to have a quiet cocktail for an 18th birthday treat. The staff were fantastic, the atmosphere was perfect. It didn't get stupidly busy and the clientele was calm, surprising for a Saturday. Highly recommend xx

Attended a function in August for a friend's birthday and it couldn't have gone better! Mo and Milo were our bar staff for the evening and were absolutely lovely - they handled everything fantastically and definitely deserved a good break after enduring our groups (questionable) singing and dancing until The Treasury shut. Lovely function room, great atmosphere, 10/10 service. Coming back soon :)

Love this bar. They have friendly staff, a fantastic selection of drinks and very tasty food. They also host plenty of live events. If we have guests visiting town this is always high on our list of places to visit.

Always a great atmosphere. Cocktails to die for and the food is really good. Looking forward to the pre theatre menu with some cocktails.

I was invited to a "Baby Shower" which was held in the Treasury. We enjoyed a lovely high tea served by friendly, helpful staff. I personally liked the China tea set, the tea really does taste better! Well Done to those who set up the table and Well Done to Treasury team.

Nice place to go but expensive for what you get

We had a reservation for afternoon tea at 2pm. Arrived on time, restaurant quiet, shown to our table, all set for the tea, pretty crockery. Staff friendly and helpful. Tea good, selection of sandwiches, very tasty cake, the lemon drizzle was scrummy. Plus the usual scones, jam and cream, also had couple of glasses of bubbles.

Attended and evening wedding reception. Lovely venue, good food, nice staff. Would recommend 👌

Went on a hen afternoon tea 27/4/24,pre booked dairy free and soya milk well in advance,no soya milk,only oat which I don't have so after a fuss they got some,as for the dairy free selection for afternoon tea was practically non existent,would not recommend at all, better places around which offer much better dairy free options other than fruit,total waste of money.

I have just attended my cousins wedding reception at the Treasury, it was amazing! Staff are really friendly, the food was really good and the atmosphere was fantastic. Thanks guys for all your hard work, it's very much appreciated. 😊

These people know how to make a cocktail. Cocktails can be very hit and miss, but I have always had a tasty one here! Hit it at happy hour and you can get 2 for one. A great start to the night. I have never eaten here, so can't comment :)

We hired the function room, to host a double wedding celebration, which was a fantastic evening. Staff were great and helped to make sure it was successful evening.

I treated a good friend to an afternoon tea here as a birthday surprise and it was really lovely. We had a good variety of sandwiches and 4 types cake each plus scone with cream and jam as well as endless tea. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I'd never been here before today but would highly recommend the afternoon tea as it's very good value for money. Will definitely visit again.

A little bit flat as bars go, better when the DJ is up top. But quite pleasant for early drinks .

Stopped her on the way home after having a meal out and it was as nice as I had remembered. I was with a friend and it was a damp miserable evening but on our way back home, the outside just caught our eye as we went past and looked inviting. It was all lit up and looked cosy. My friend still fancied another drink and I thought I could get a nice coffee. We were both very happy. He had a whisky old fashioned with some very nice whisky. He is a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to whiskey, I really am not. But I did try it and it was very nice as old fashions go. My latte too was lovely. The venue itself, with its high ceilings and stylish décor, just seemed so sophisticated. I said to my friend, I felt like we were in an old fashioned gentlemen's lounge or something like that. The staff too were very friendly. It was very quiet of course , it was around 6.30 on a half term Tuesday evening. I think we decided we will make it our new Friday after school spot.

Good cocktails clean toilets. Wasn't keen on the upsell techniques when asked for single. I'd ask for a double if wanted.

Good food and very good service good place for a function

My family and I had a lovely time today having afternoon tea! Lovely, clean, relaxed environment. Staff were kind and polite and came to check on us at the right times. Food was lovely too, staff were kind enough to give us a box to take what we didn't finish home! Definitely recommend and will be going back!

Always drop in for a quick drink whilst waiting for the bus. Excellent range of beers and friendly staff.

Love the decor, service and drinks. The atmosphere was a little rowdy - typical to be honest for a December visit. My friends food was great (chicken ballotine) but mine so incredibly disappointing - the menu described ‘smoked haddock, roasted potato cake, hollandaise and watercress’ the reality was a very small portion of bland crushed potatoes (not roasted) overcooked fish, covered with hollandaise on the top of the fish skin (which made it disgustingly soggy), topped with mustard cress which was a very unwelcome flavour. I’d come back for drinks but skip eating In response to the restaurant reply…it wasn’t about my tastes. Okay the mustard cress instead of the advertised watercress as unpleasant but the rest of the advertised food was so bland and soggy (with the sauce on top) because of the prep so nothing to do with my tastes and a very small portion. If you want to trial menu items with diners (I’ve worked as a mystery diner) I’d be welcome. I wish you well

Fabulous evening spent with friends, cocktails and a grazing board. Staff were super attentive, the cocktails were fabulous and the grazing board was delicious. Never come here on a night out but the atmosphere was fab and the service was excellent.

I visited for a mid morning meeting , great coffee, quite informal with a relaxed atmosphere. Parking available very near , a multitude of bus stops on Royal Parade, wheelchair accessible, very clean toilets. Love the pulpit !!

Lovely light lunch(posh toast with shiitake mushrooms, spinach, and poached egg was very fresh and tasty, and the cocktails are great, too. Good service and nice atmosphere.

Good selection of gins and cocktails but no zero cider

I booked 2 weeks ago and requested to be seated with back to a wall as I don't like people freely walking around behind me. So the Treasury decided to place us smack in the middle of the floor surrounded by people standing around drinking, why do this when you had 2 weeks to organise our 2 seats? I will say the decor looked very nice as to did the menu however we left 5 min after being seated as it was a very uncomfortable seating experience. Hopefully we will get to try the food in the future if we are adequately seated. With all the drinkers walking around the atmosphere was exactly like eating at a weatherspoons next to the bar on a sat night.

Fantastic venue, extremely friendly, we haven't eaten there but the presentation of dishes highest standard, almost like a still life drawing- presentation is attractive to the eye, they say we eat with our eyes- colours pop! Nightlife here is amazing, guest Djs, as you can see, I don't have anything bad to say

We went there for lunch before my wife's graduation ceremony next door in St. Andrews Church. It was manic with all the students and families, so not normal. The staff did well but we did have a couple of issues. One meal was forgotten, either communication or something, in the kitchen and the coffees were missed. I don't think this is their normal level and wasn't when we went before. The situation was resolved without fuss so overall I was pretty happy. The food itself was tasty. The waiting staff did a good job given the circumstances. In summary we would go there again.

Was here for a private dinner. We had a great night.

Very small plates with a very large price

Shocking.given a gin in a beer glass,when I questioned this was told they are getting rid of gin glasses. Prices are high enough, expect better service,plus correct glasses. Wont be coming here again

They do not serve gin in a gin glass, just in a normal glass, said that they were fazing them out, absolutely shocking, even weather spoons use gin glasses

three choirs turned up after the event in the Guildhall, the place was rocking with singers, much to the dismay of guest having a quiet drink, even a birthday girl had Happy Birthday sung to her, the atmosphere was electric.

They had a breakdown of some equipment in kitchen so came out to apologise for long wait ( before we were about to complain). Food when arrived very good and we were given free drinks while waiting (again unsolicited) hence 3 stars instead of lower. These things happen, they dealt with it well.

Visited for the first time last night, easily reserved a table online. Happy hour is between 4pm and 7pm, really nice drinks, the pina colada was amazing! We had the grazing shelves, absolutely amazing. Will definitely visit again!

The Treasury is always a great venue, whether for drinks with friends on a night out or a network event in the private function room.

Perfect food, perfect cocktails and perfect service! Ben made us great cocktails all evening and was very welcoming and friendly. And the manager was also very hospitable. Will definitely be coming back!

Two of us had lunch here. The menu was pretty limited for vegetarians but we found something we thought we would like. We arrived just as lunch was starting and the place was not busy. So it was a relaxed atmosphere, with no rush. Service was fine but slow, though this was in keeping with the feel of the place and we were not in a hurry. We'll go back at some time to try more of the menu.
