We have order a take away tonight i couldn't even eat mine. we paid £30 for something that had no flavour and the chicken looked like it was bought from asda, I feel very sick after trying to eat a bit of it and i have had to leave majority of my plate. I would not recommend this place we have had a lot nicer Chinese from places that are cheaper. We feel ripped off and disappointed.

We booked a table following good reviews. Whoever wrote them must have been paid. It was the coldest night of the year with a howling gale blowing. When we arrived the only 2 other customers were leaving complaining about how cold it was inside. The staff were all wearing coats and thick jumpers.. The place was baltic and we were told the heating was broken. The eat as much as you like buffet was extremely limited. Having ordered our meals we were asked if we wanted each course seperately. We said yes and then the waitress brought the soup and starters together. By the time we had our soup our starters were cold. All the plates were cold and with the freezing temperatures inside this meant all the food went cold very quickly. The menu was so limited we asked if we could choose from the bigger takeaway menu but were told ,even though the meals were being prepared by the same chef in the same kitchen.Will not be back here

Been to China City in blyth this evening. Wow! No heating in the restaurant it was absolutely freezing. Moved us to another table, we had a choice because there was nobody else in. A couple were leaving as we arrived the waitress later told us they had left without eating because it was to cold for them gave a small oiled filled radiator between four of us. Because the place was so cold the food although delivered warm was cold by the time we ate it as first two courses came together. Never tasted noodles like the length of rubber served up. You know the saying you get what you pay for well it's true but you don't get a choice it's a set price CHEAP yes and absolutely awfU.K. Maybe if the food was hot it may have tasted better .. Would I go back Never! A birthday party came in after about half an hour Women sitting in parkha jackets with fur hoods not a good look but they did get offered 20% off their bill because the heating wasn't on. We did however ger £2 off the price Yeah!!!

I ordered food from here for delivery when my food was 35 minutes late I rang to be told the driver was 10 mins away 30 mins later I rag back to ask again we're my food was to say he was nearly there after ringing a fifth time they then lied 2 hours late by this time and said the driver had been in an accident and died which was found to be a total lie a said I want a full refund which I was then call a stupid cow then hung upon and my ordered cancelled so I rang just eat please avoid this place it's horrid

We visited last Sunday with friends. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was super quick and friendly staff. There was a couple of cock ups, we were brought the wrong drinks and after we had finished eating a round of food we were asked if we were finished. As it happens, we weren’t and we said that, but we weren’t offered to order any more food!! I thought it was quite rude for her to ask if we were finished as I felt we were getting pushed out the door. The food is delicious and it comes out within no longer than 5 minutes of ordering it. I just felt for an all you can eat that we should be able to order ‘all we can eat’. At the end of the day we are paying the price and not at the discounted rate either. After we said we did want to order more food our service just stopped and we were sat at the table for a further more 20 minutes and no one came over so we just decided to pay the bill and leave as we assumed the staff weren’t keen to give us anymore food.

We visited with 2 friends for an early evening meal on a Friday night. The place was empty but there agin it was only 6pm! We where greeted by a pleasant young lady who showed us to a table and took our drinks order. The drinks arrived in timely fashion and she asked if we wanted to order our starters. Now this is a buffet restaurant so we chose the starters we fancied and asked if we had to also order our mains, as some establishments bring everything together. We were assured we only need order starters and once our order arrived we were told we could order more if we wanted. After demolishing the starters we ordered a fair assortment of mains and with a minimum of wait all arrived hot and very tasty. Prices are £12.90 for an adult & £9 for pensioners, well worth every penny and the 2 young ladies waiting on were very attentive and friendly.

We went when it used to be called treasure. What a difference from then. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food is now buffet style but not as you know it. Order anything from menu they cook it straight away. Then order more as often as you like. Food is always fresh and hot.quality was excellent with large king prawns in batter etc. Price is £12.90 each or 0£9.00 if you are over 60. Really good value

Went here for a birthday meal.there was only the 4 of us in the place and all the food was cooked fresh to order. Nothing was any trouble and the food was great. Would recommend to anyone

We ordered the munch box or what ever they like to call them. All I can say is it was tasteless and well over priced at over £25 for the box . Would never recommend this place .

Treasure thai has rebranded itself to China City. I never visited its previous incarnation so cannot compare. The decor is pleasantly atmospheric. The staff are very aytentive, polite and keen to please. The food is satisfactory. What stops it from being amazing is how it caters to the English pallet at the expense of authenticity. I am sure it will be popular and many people will thoroughly enjoy the food served here. The portions are huge. The table is set with a knife and fork. Chop sticks are available on request.

A very rude manager with anger issues. Doesn't know what he is doing and shouts to his staff. I wouldn't want my child working there put it that way! There was only 1 young asian waiter and he was very polite and was lovely, but we didn't like the way the manager spoke to him.

Four of us went via a Groupon offer so the meal was well priced. We loved the unusual decor and were promptly seated. The waitress had only been there a couple of days and so the manager had to explain which items were included and which were extra. He was a cross between Basil Fawlty and Jackie Chan, although he said he preferred Bruce Lee. Disorganised, but friendly and funny. Nothing wrong with the dishes we chose or the service, but it was fairly cold in there and they has no wine in stock (it was a Sunday). So we had beers, and 2 pints and 2 halves cost just over £9. All in all a pleasant evening.

This was our second visit manager is totally hilarious ! Food is outstanding and great value for money would 100% recommend for a lovely meal in a nice atmosphere

If you think you're getting a good deal with the price of this takeaway you're wrong. I've paid less for quarter duck and get more at any of restaurant, however the half here is £14 and I got hardly any duck and it tasted disgusting. Rear of meal was also disgusting. Won't be ordering again. Complete waste of time and money.

I honestly don't even know where to begin. We ordered off the website which took our payment via card and then waited for the estimated time stated of 40 minutes, an hour went by so I rang the restaurant, he had no order from us as the website in question is from the old management (over a month ago they appear to have changed management) and is obviously still taking payments which aren't going through to the restaurant. So we arrange to pay £10 for the order (a little under half price) and wait another 45 minutes to have the food delivered and I'm not even joking here, 1 out 9 items we ordered was correct, it's all lukewarm and looks disgusting. Still awaiting refund from this dodgy website, £30 down, 2 and a half hours gone and still without any food. I WISH I could give this no stars. What a disgrace.

Food was ok. All else was not. We walked into an empty restaurant before waiting 30 minutes to be seated by what seemed like the only staff member. It was like a one man show. He took our drinks which we waited another half an hour for. He came from the kitchen with our food which was cold and greasy. He said he was the chef/manager/waiter and that all of his staff had "let him down". McDonald's has better service than this place.

I was disturbed to see the status of my order on the app change to "delivered" half an hour before it actually was. Food was 40 minutes late. However, the quality of the food and flavour were good. I'll give them another go and hopefully they will do a better delivery service next time .

We booked a table at the restaurant for 8pm New Years Eve for a party of 14 (6 adults and 8 children). The manager seemed extremely disorganised and the two young boys serving didnt have a clue what they were doing. It took about 45 minutes minutes before we got any drinks and by 10;30 we had only just finished our starters. We tried to order our second drinks but were told that there was no Rose or Red wine left at all and they had run out of lager ( there was only one other party in the restaurant so they were not exactly over-run with custom. A set menu was being served which should have consisted of a total of 12 main meals but we only were served.10. At the end of a disastrous evening we were given the bill. Cost for food should have been about £180 .We were billed approx £360 so £180 for drinks-one bottle of wine(£15 per bottle), one glass of wine, one vodka and coke,12 cokes and 6 beers.Basically we were completely ripped off. On top of this we had to leave our coats on all evening as the restaurant was so cold. I

We visited the restaurant on a Friday evening and were the only ones there. Were slightly concerned as expected the place to be packed with Xmas parties etc. Food was served promptly. We chose a Thai dish and Cantonese style house special.After reading reviews we didn't hear the shouting but did hear pots get dumped in a sink of water!!!! We also were given a selection of fruit complementary.Good wine list & v reasonably priced.Definitely give it a go.

Went here with my kids. The asian waiter was so lovely and polite. He said hasn't been there long but managed very well, can't say the same for the manager who was running around and unorganised.

I cake here with my boyfriend and the food was outstanding. We were the only customers there and the waiter and manager were both so lovely. They were a great team and I would definitely recommend. The only thing bad was whenever the manager went in to the kitchen all you could hear was shouting, which was a bit off putting to my romantic meal.

The food was good but not exceptional, the restaurant is not in the best of positions but is very well turned out. The manager/owner? is like an eastern version of Basil Fawlty which can be quite entertaining! every time he went into the kitchen you could hear raised voices and occasionally dishes breaking.

Fire works night and team Clark Parker were a bit peckish. Decided to do Chinese and picked at random Treasure Thai and Chinese Restaurant. We picked shredded chicken Cantonese sauce and beef chow mein. The owner was absolutely lovely we felt like most important customers he had had. Free crackers and fortune cookies, food was spot on really worth it. The entry is also worth going through, quite a surprise. I won't say here and spoil it but open the door and walk through for an unusual entry feature. Excellent restaurant!

Every time we come here the food is always fantastic and Alan is great. We cannot recommend this place enough. Don't walk past....give it a try. I can guarantee you will be back.

Me and my girlfriend visited here a week before Halloween, it was very nice inside and well themed. The service was fantastic and very polite with light conversation and humour, they even gave us free desserts which was very nice. The food arrived very promptly and the portions were large, my girlfriend couldn't eat it all so they wrapped it for us to take home. The taste was second to none and I can honestly say the Cantonese duck was the best I've ever had and we will definitely be visiting again. We had 2 mains with noodles and rice and a couple of drinks for a very reasonable £30, 5 star service and quality.

Tried this restaurant after buying a deal on groupon. I never expected such a well presented and immaculate restaurant. The manager was very attentive and organised, his staff less so. He did explain he had recently taken over and some of the staff were new. They did their best however and coped very well. The food was excellent and a lot better than a regular Chinese. We had a groupon voucher which made it incredible value, however looking at the normal menu the prices were very reasonable.Drink prices were fine £12.95 for a decent bottle of wine and £2.95 for a pint.We enjoyed this restaurant immensely and will be back many more times in future

I couldn't pronounce my main meal order and he said that he was unable to either as he was English speaking from Hong Kong.....explaining what we could have off the menu with the deal was confusing to say the least, soup and a sharing platter included pretty much everything else was £2.50 we were told "as this wasn't Weatherspoons" !! He was a funny guy, so off beat, Saidhe was Alan Smith and was slightly manic running all over the place, the atmosphere was good, the food was good and the Service was good,we were happy to pay the extra to extend the choices we could have, the menu was extensive and included Chinese and Thai cuisine. I would go back without the Groupon deal which I feel is a good recommendation

As other reviewers have said they try to charge more even though it is included in the deal ,nor do they honour the drinks special price of £1.95/pint. it is charged at £2.95 and we were told the voucher price was wrong. I think this is something that they should have taken up with groupon, who would haie informed their purchasers. Overall it was good value for money.Decor is lovely, but sadly this restaurant is let-down by it's front of house staff. That is the only thing that would stop me recommending this restaurant. We were originally visiting as a group of 4, so pleased they could not go that night . would have been a tad embarrassing.

Absolutely foul! Ribs had a wierd bitter taste to them and were almost cold. Duck & Pork - go knows when it was originally cooked but they were both tough, dry and also tasted funny, sat in a huge pool of grease at bottom of carton. Possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever had.

My wife, Jan & I, went to Treasure for lunch, and glad we did. Everything was first class. If anyone wants good Thai or Chinese food we strongly recommend Treasure. We would gladly go again, Groupon or not.

My friend and I visited on Wednesday night as I had purchased a Groupon voucher. Have been numerous times when it first opened and was very impressed with the service, especially from a lovely lady called Lily who remembered my name, and presentation.Unfortunately this visit didn't match up at all. We were shown to our seats and told what we could have. This did not match up to what was on the voucher. The voucher stated you could have soup which included mixed seafood, shredded duck or wonton (we were offered crabmeat and sweetcorn or chicken and sweetcorn). The next course on the voucher was a sharing platter of spring rolls, chicken satay skewers, spare ribs,prawn toast. Then you chose your meat and sauce and either chips, rice or noodles (however we were told that noodles were £1.50 extra).The dessert on the voucher was either banana or pineapple fritters or ice cream. We had ice cream placed in front of us and not given a choice.Through the meal we had a few bottles of wine but found this difficult to order as there was only 1 person front of house and he was rushing around like a headless chicken. The couple near us laughed and said it was like fawlty towers, sadly we had to agree. The food was still enjoyable but the lovely presentation has gone. So sad I was disappointed.

Went on a special deal, only to be told that we could only order certain items on the menu and anything other what was stated would cost an extra £2.50 per person, even though the difference on the menu was only 30p. Fairly full restaurant with one "waiter", who took orders, waited on tables, took drink orders and pulled and served drinks. On arrival even though we had booked we were shown to a table which had not been prepared, and the waiter removed his coat from the table before we could sit down.

Been once before and had a great meal so decided to return. Food was nice but I believe management has changed and it just felt like procedures need tightening up.. hygiene etcWould return though

Order placed at 7pm. Initially came back with delivery set for 8pm. This was changed on Just Eat to 8:30pm, however the food didn't actually arrive until 8:45. The driver did apologise but still a bit late. Although the food is usually very tasty, tonight the food was bland. The salt and pepper spare ribs tasted more like satay sauce, with a strong peanut flavour. Overall a disappointing take away from a usually good place.

Beautiful food especially if you like it hot! I was worried at first as we were the only two people in the place I had no need it was perfect if I had one complaint it would be that the staff speak little English which makes asking for specifics hard

First Chinese takeaway I've found in the North East that I would order from again happily. Whole meal was fantastic.

Shredded chicken and sweet & sour dishes were both the same. Chicken was very chewy could not eat as was very tough. Seafood was over cooked also very chewy.

Myself and a friend went for lunch. We opted for the 3 courses for £6.90. We were the only people in the restaurant so the service was good. As soon as we were seated the waiter brought free prawn crackers to the table which were also topped up halfway through the meal without us even having to ask for them. I had the vegetable spring roll starter and my friend had the satay chicken skewers. Both were quite nice. For main I had the Singapore vermicelli which was really nice and a good size portion. My friend asked for chicken curry which is not on the lunch menu. The waiter was more than happy to provide it with no extra cost or fuss. The ice cream was adequate (quite crystallised). The banana roll looked like my vegetable spring roll as the same pastry was used. We were in and out within the hour. The restaurant is fine if you want a cheap chinese meal, it's nothing special but I'd defintely go back next time I fancied chinese for lunch.

Normally great food but the chowmein was so salty it couldn't be finished, the hot and sour soup was extremely sweet and not hot, and ordered shredded crispy chicken and got Hong Kong style instead. Very disappointed.

Went here for a family meal on Father's Day. When we arrived there was only 1 other couple in so I was very sceptical. How wrong I was. The meal was first class. The service was very good and the inside of the resturant was very clean and the decor very good. I would deffo recommend this resturant but can't say on the price as this was paid for us.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. The order was initially cancelled then reinstated then took a long time to arrive. We bought the banquet for two people and I would advise others not to bother. For the money it was v poor quality. Lots of rubbery chicken and over-cooked veg in watery sauces. We fed most of the meat to the dog. The only thing we liked was the rice. A poor show for 30 odd quid. Feel a bit cheated. I should really ask for a refund.

Four of us ate here and the food was absolutely lovely. The service was amazing, we opted for a set meal and the waiter explained all of the options and allowed us to mix and match different meals to create our own set menu. He was clearly passionate about the food served here which was nice to see.We have also bought takeaway from this restaurant and the food is just as good as it is in when you sit in!The atmosphere is lovely too. Three of us went to this restaurant today for lunch. The service and food were really good and such amazing value for money.The décor was beautiful and all the tables had beautiful white linen tablecloths.We have visited this restaurant a few times and we have never been disappointed.We asked the chef it would be possible to change one of the dishes from pork to chicken and he said it was no problem so they are very accommodating.
