As always the food is both good value and tastes as good as it looks...never been disappointed with any of the dishes I have tried. Best Chinese I have had bar none

I'm leaving a mediocre review, not because the food isn't good, because it is, it's very good. However in the three times I've got takeaways from here I've been quoted anywhere between 20 and 40 minutes, and that's fine, but everytime I go in, the girl goes in to see the chef, asks him how much, takes the money and only then does he start to cook resulting in another 15-20 minute wait. Food is great, but I'll be going elsewhere to somewhere that cooks the meal within the waiting time and not 20 minutes later.

Wouldn’t even know what the foods like considering I couldn’t even get through the phone call to order as the woman on the phone was so rude and huffing and puffing because I asked what was in a munchie box.

Munchybox Me and my wife have just shared a boneless munchybox, and it was delicious, we asked for less salt and pepper and it was just right, Hot Wok is our go to chinese takeaway

Visited this place whilst staying in ashington, sorry to say not impressed at all had beef curry fried rice, the beef was burnt round the edges and tough as leather

Tried all the top rated Chinese around Blyth and Whitley bay and the hot wok is in a different league to all of them! Big portions high quality ingredients put together perfectly and one of the cheapest we actually can’t believe the value for money from this place and they actually do the deep fried shredded chilli beef properly not soggy like everywhere else We tried the crispy duck offer which included Deep fried shredded chilli beef (done properly it’s actually crispy) 1/4 duck with pancakes etc Chicken curry and two big portions of fried rice (curry is proper dark Chinese curry with a bit of spice) Chips but we paid extra to get the salt and pepper chips instead they were crispy and full flavour Paid extra for the following Hot and sour soup ( massive portion and full of beef chicken and king prawns) Peking chicken wings think there was 10 in the bag and the peking sauce was separate (love that they do that) After seeing the pictures on google we thought the food looked absolutely delicious and so we decided to give ago as they not on justeat or anywhere else for that matter and now we know why they don’t need them the food sells it’s self Highly recommended Thanks hot wok 🙏

The munchie box is an absolute disgrace! Just a box of salty chips and a couple of spare ribs with several tough chicken nuggets and horrible spring rolls! All tasted exactly the same! £16!!!

Not one to usually leave review but I couldn’t not, chips were like crisps. Rice was alright but you cannot get that wrong. My king prawns black bean had more oil than black bean sauce… Pretty poor.

Bit slow to prepare, 30 minute wait but it was Saturday night at 8pm so would expect it to be busy. Food was outstanding. Spicy chilli garlic beef, very tender. Chicken curry spicy and chilli chicken awesome

Food ok. However don’t trust the times. They say 20mins, still not ready after 30… in fact it hadn’t even been started in kitchen. Service is as bad as it gets for a customer facing establishment!

I have been using Hot Wok for a couple of years now and I don't know why I haven't wrote this sooner! I always get the same meal as it's the best around and I have tried a few take aways and they just don't compare. The Honey Chilly dishes are amazing. I have to fancy a Chinese as it's not up on my list of favourite take away food but when I do it's definitely the Hot Wok. Service fast on collection and is always red hot and fresh by the time I get home. One small negative is there curry sauce isn't strong in taste! Highly recommend.

Very generously portioned pleasant food. Veery good chilli chips and mixed starter. Lemon chicken good but smaller bits of chicken rather than traditional strips. Sataay a bit thin but overall happy to eat again from takeaway outlet with no sit in facility. Very friendly service.

Used to be good.. got a munchy box tonight but it was more of a box of chips with a few extras. Had a few munchy boxes before so knew what to expect. Dissatisfied is what I am. If I wanted chips i would have went to the local chippy!

Best Chinese takeaway in blyth by far.

I never go anywhere other than hot wok, they always get your order right and the portions are usually big enough to split over 2 days.

Had meal from Hot Wok tonight ordered 5 different meals and every one was delicious, piping hot on arrival they give you FREE vegetable spring rolls we asked if possible to change them and with no hesitation they said they could do crispy wontons which were gorgeous. Highly recommend this takeaway assistant on the phone was also very pleasant and dealt with our order very efficiently.

Local take out. Had 20+ meals here, never had a bad one. Food tastes good, never got the wrong order, it's a Chinese take away, what more can you ask for...

Had food a long while ago, read the reviews and thought let's give it a try to see how it is these days. The order was taken very politely over the phone and I arrived to pick up and it was still being cooked which was ok as I knew it would be fresh and had not been sitting around getting cold. The portions were very generous and the food was very tasty and well cooked. We would recommend this Chinese takeaway as it was top notch and well worth a try. We will be returning..

Worst Chinese I've ever Had, mcdonalds probably source better chicken than this. Too top it all off,very rude staff. Everyone will be better off spending their money elsewhere.

Ordered a takeaway last night. We had a house special fried rice, a portion of onions, chips and curry sauce. Everything was really nice. There wasn’t a single thing I could fault. The delivery time was bang on the 45 mins we had been quoted too. The food was fresh, piping hot and there was plenty of it! Really pleased with the service and would go back for definite.

Ordered 3 separate meals by phone for collection. Telephone answered promptly by a pleasant and helpful lady at the other end. Went to collect and found this takeaway to be clean with a 5 star hygiene rating & a friendly young lady behind the counter. When my order arrived I took hold of the carrier bag and could not believe how heavy it was! Upon arriving home and unpacking the bag it was a nice surprise to find not only the 3 meals as ordered but also a number of complimentary items being a bag of prawn crackers, a bag containing 6 spring rolls and a couple of fortune cookies! The meals were well cooked piping hot and delicious with more than enough meat in all three dishes. All in all a very enjoyable reasonably priced meal. We will definitely be visiting this establishment from now on.

Ordered food and told it would be a good hour for delivery, it came in 45 minutes. It was all piping hot, every single meal (which was 4) was delicious. They give you free spring rolls with every meal ordered, but we asked for something different as none of us like spring rolls, they sent crispy won-tons which again was lovely. I have used this Chinese take away before but stopped because standard of meals sent to us had dropped. It is now under new management and by the meal we all had tonight we could all tell. I most certainly will be using it again.

Ordered through just eat. 2 chicken dishes completely lacking in any kind of sauce, the chips were over cooked and dried up and the crispy seaweed was anything but crispy. £26 wasted as majority of it went in the bin. Will never use again.

I have used this take away on numerous occasions and found food to be very good. Last nights food was very disappointing. There was a few different meals ordered amounting to the sum of £60. The duck in Cantonese sauce was very fatty and sauce was watery, chicken in the curry was awful very slimy and chewy, sweet and sour was tasting vinegar chips were like the night before chips reheated very hard and not hot at all. The pancakes that came with the crispy duck were all stuck together. Only good thing about it was it arrived on the delivery time they said.

Read reviews seemed good but disappointed as the curry very powdery, the onions were nearly raw and although chicken was fine the beef was chewy. I ordered fried rice and that was undercooked I'd rather wait longer and get food cooked properly however very friendly staff.

We have always recommended this takeaway to friends and family and never had any bother with it until this week. It took them over 2 and a half hours to deliver a small order, even then they didn't even send all the order. My partner rang and they told us they'd had bother with just eat but it had just left the shop - it still took them another hour to get it to us. Disgusting. I'll not be taking the risk again which is a shame.

Was looking forward to the munchie box it wasn't nice at all dry and horrible I order from here regularly and never had a bad meal don't know what's happened tonight but it's right put me off (had company too which makes me feel even worse)

The order I place had one item missing, I called it through and had someone deliver it quickly. The quality of the food though is fantastic which is why it's my families first place to go to for a Chinese takeaway.

We were told this was the best Chinese in blyth so gave it a try, they were very busy at the time but served with a smile and friendly banter. I ordered something I've never seen before in a Chinese style Pizza with chicken satay topping. Absolutely loved it and will use again. My wife had chicken chowmein and we shared some salt and pepper chips. Great little place and also on just eat so we'll order in next time.
