piping hot food when it arrived, I ordered the salt and pepper prawns and they were so good! Everything was so flavourful and the customer service aspect of it was very good.. one downfall was the noodles were quite dry so I had to add the sauce but I will definitely be ordering from here again❤️

i ABSOLUTELY lovvvveeed my juicy experience in this 5555 STARRR restaurant. i thought the experience was absolutely incredible and the service was so welcoming. i felt RIGHHT at home almost took my socks off felt wayyy to comfy this was the besttt day of my life ive never tasted Chinese food quite like this. There was an AMAZING girl behind the counter who made me feel more loved then my great auntie susan who buys me chocolate cake every week so that is saying SOMETHENNN if u ask me. i reccomend taking ur kids here every single day even if they become obese because at least they are obese with love and china in there stomachs 😄😄❤️❤️😘😘😍😍

Lovely food, one of the only Chinese in Blyth that make your food to order, chips are always fresh as is everything else.

Missed curry sauce off our order ! Chips were mostly crispy , salt N pepper chicken was disgusting very hard , no chicken !! And not seasoned ! Customer service was none ! Delivery lass was really nice N apologetic! It's went totally down hill....vile

Ordered from John's tonight ,when it arrived they had forgot our curry , rang to tell them , he said we'll it will be later ....no that's not good enough our food was here!!! Salt N pepper chilli chicken was harder than brick , chips were all crunchy, spare ribs were ok but meal was totally spoilt due to curry sauce not being delivered N food being of very poor quality! There was no apologie Must say the delivery lass was spot on so thankyou! Ruined my night!! In a stinking fettle , wasted money on poor quality

Really good food, served hot and couldn't fault it. I had king Prawn Chicken in spicy Shwezan sauce, not too hot..in fact absolutly perfect. My husband had Crispy Beef and veg. Order taken by a lovely young lady, very polite and friendly, we chose to have it delivered at a specific time..well done John's..We will be back again thank you for great service over the years!.

I used to come here all the time, same meal each time but they must have changed the recipe. The food I ordered is awful! It’s left such a weird after taste in my mouth. Has no flavour. No spice, no sweetness. Even lacked sauce. I am about 5 mouthfuls in and I’m throwing the rest in the bin. What on Earth John’s Chinese. I’ve been telling everyone how awesome you are. £20 down, karma for having unhealthy food instead of cooking. Time to find a new Chinese 😩

Always went to John's since the 70s lovely food but he has been bought by someone else and the food is just terrible, save your money and find a better Chinese takeaway.

first time coming to johns, the person who answered the phone was lovely and helped with suggestions, the food was great, order came speedily whilst an immaculate delivery girl handed me my food, would definitely order again!

Disappointed!!! Loved this place, always amazing food but tonight our house special in Cantonese sauce was pale in colour, tasteless and i think they ve tried to bulk it out with veg to reduce the meat. Not sure if they ve changed the chef or the rise in food costs is hitting them hard, but ill be trying elsewhere next time. Shame as they used to be top notch!

John's Chinese was by far the best Chinese in Blyth. It has changed however, the recipes have definitely changed, the salt n chilli chicken, house special fried rice are takeaways we loved. Its not a bad Chinese now, its just not John's anymore. Which is a same, as it was one of the best takeaways we've tried.

Very good food with the right balance of flavouring. Clean premises and friendly staff. The chefs always greet you when they're in front of house. Prices are on par with others in the area.

We have used Johns for many years and did not know it had changed hands, we ordered our usual when it arrived it was awful there wasn't any chicken in the Chicken Chow Mein and the Sweet and Sour Chicken was tough and un edible, my husband rang up to complain and the woman said bring it back for a refund he pointed out we had paid for delivery and they should collect it which they did it is not the same as when theother peo

Got home after making a family order and one meal was completely incorrect which was very disappointing as we had got all the way back home as not local in Blyth. Called up to explain the situation expecting a replacement that we were prepared to go back to collect and was told very rudely by the woman that we were given what we ordered which absolutely was not the case. Regular customer but won't be going back again. Rude woman.

We used to get meals for years from John's. Chinese in Blyth, Northumberland. We haven't had one for a few months, so thought we would treat ourselves. We got our meals tonight and they both ended up in the bin. People say its under new management and it has gone so downhill. I've never felt sick after a curry in my life until tonight. Onions tasted off, the curry came out the Carton in one solid lump. Peas rock hard And the prawn crackers are bland and literally half the portions they used to be. Such a shame, it used to be the best in blyth. Sorry to say, but will never be using this place again. Even if the meals were free.

Best Chinese in blyth we don’t go anywhere else, fabulous food thoroughly recommend

This establishment has recently changed hands, the previous owners prices we're fair for a nice meal yet these new owners have put £10 on out price. The food wasn't at the same standard as before either, to charge that increased amount to loyal customers is disgusting. Stay well clear.

The best Chinese take away ever! Some of the nicest staff who are so friendly and helpful. My partner is coeliac and they are able to cater to this which seems almost unheard of, so we are so grateful to all the staff for going above and beyond to make it so! The food is always cooked to perfection, I find most places very oily/greasy whereas John's is always spot on. Delicious!

I've never known a Chinese takeaway to offer gluten free and to be fair he could've served me anything and I'd have been happy. But the food was tasty in its own right, my non gluten free partner helped me eat it and agreed. The portions were huge and we had plenty to eat the next day too. Staff were really helpful and friendly on the phone and on delivery. It is a little pricey but I think it's worth the price tag for the portion size let alone quality and service.

Long, well established Chinese Takeaway, owned and run by the original family that started it around 40 odd 50 years ago. Goes to show they know what they're doing.

Family run business for many years and very friendly. Great food and large portions. Staff are always helpful and chatty. Never had a bad meal from here but have seen some reviews on other sites that aren't very complimentary. Every business is entitled to a bad day and if so called regulars have an issue with a meal then they should speak to the staff to allow them to resolve any problem instead of unnecessarily slating them on social media. It's all about good customer service and John's Chinese has one of the best. Food is always piping hot and delicious. Keep up the good work

Helpful staff, answered all questions concerning Gluten free meals and made some great suggestions

Called last weekend to ask if Gluten Free meals were possible. Reply was yes and a list of dishes to choose from. Just collected meals, the Gluten Free meal was wrapped seperate and labelled so could not be mixed up, not only were they huge but red hot and amazingly tasty, the first Gluten Free Chinese Takeaway my husband has had in over 30 years. We will be returning soon. Well done Johns

First visit for several years but massively impressed with premises and the quality of food provided. The premises were welcoming as were the staff. Will certainly be back in the near future.

i have had food here before and it is usually beautiful. tonight very poor, chips cold and tasted uncooked in the middle, sent prawn crackers back as they could have been several days old, so stale. poor taste of all the food. very disappointed.

25/06/2019. Just been to John's Chinese takeaway in Blyth and wow what a MASSIVE surprise. Ordered for collection and very well mannered person took my order, Reasonably priced with a pick up time of 25 minutes. When I got there it was just on 25 minutes and it was just being placed ready for collection. Complimentary prawn crackers were included and exceptional professional friendly staff member. 5 minute journey home in the car and the food was exceptional, hot, tasty and all 3 family members were highly satisfied apart from not being able to finish the meal due to very good sized portions. VERY WELL DONE ! John's Chinese takeaway in Blyth will be our first choice every time from now on.

A very popular take away in our area. We have never been disappointed yet. The staff are very professional and take the responsibility for supplying gluten free meals very seriously (always pointing them out and labelling the portions accordingly). Absolutely 5 star.

Pancake roll was disappointing - lacking meat and had gone soggy on journey home so lost crispness. Curry sauce was delicious as was rice and chips. Chicken slices were fantastic in king prawn chop suey - will be back soon X x

This Chinese shop has been established for years - it is the best Chinese carry-out in Blyth - have been going to this shop for evening meals for a long time - highly recommended by myself and my husband.

My favourite place to go for takeaway. My first choice. Best fried rice anywhere. Nice staff, tried other places but have never found anywhere to beat them when it comes to the food. Perfect every time been having take out here for years and still love it. The best

We've tried John's twice now the 1st time we ordered king prawn & chicken curry with fried rice and a chicken chow mein. The portion sizes are generous, leaving enough for seconds if you can manage it. I have to say it's one of the best chinese curries i've tasted and there's been a few from all over UK and slightly further a field and my son is a very fussy eater but he demolished the chow mein like he hadn't been fed for a week and even tried some of mine so it was no shock he wanted a curry all to himself when we decided to order again, this time i went with chef's recommendation mixed shredded beef & chicken in King Do sauce and the hubby went for sweet & sour chicken balls and our son had the king prawn & chicken curry and we all had fried rice and once again the food tasted great. We will be back for sure, next time we order we will use the delivery service now we have a menu at home. Give it a try i'm glad we did!!

We have used John's since the early 1980's and although we now live at the other side of town we still love the food from here.The quality is consistent and the staff are really friendly and polite.Try a Beef curry, complete with PEAS or Sweet and Sour Chicken, you will not be disappointed
