The rooms are excellent, and there's a decent car park. The breakfast is a takeaway box. It's outside of the city centre but a brief taxi should get you there in minutes. Recommended. S

We had a nice, comfortable, modern, and clean family room of just about right size. The lady at the reception was kind, though she seemed a bit overwhelmed by the masses of guests, being all alone. The hotel is a bit of a maze, one can quickly lose the path to the room/reception among the very similar doors. A couple of signs hanging from the ceiling or stairway doors with colors strikingly different from the guest room doors would help. There is a huge public parking lot in front of the hotel for free. Sadly, no breakfast is served. Showers definitely need to be replaced with ones with hoses, and there should be ACs at least in the bathrooms. One could make use of more towels either. Rooms are basically quiet, unless you have a neighbor who likes to stomp around, or who speaks loud.

The hotel is on the outskirts of the city, and transportation is limited. We arrived by car, which made it easy to get around at night. There is parking at the hotel (there is no charge for parking), and there is a 24-hour supermarket right across the street. The hotel reception was quick, and to check out you just have to leave the card in a mailbox. There are no elevators (keep in mind that suitcases must be taken up stairs), and services are very limited. A VERY negative point is that they offer Wi-Fi limited to 30 minutes (otherwise you have to pay extra). The room is good, as is the bathroom (good water pressure and temperature). There is to heat water and make coffee or tea. We stayed only one night, and it was ok.

Easy to find and good location right next to Asda and some takeaways. Plenty of free parking. Check In was friendly and fast. I was in room 307 which was in the separate block, very quiet apart from the room above It sounded like a herd of elephants were staying in the room, but thankfully were quiet during the night. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and there were two usb sockets by each side of the bed, which were handy. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the room was too hot. The temperature was set to 22c, changed it to 16c but it kept going back to 22c, so switched it off in the end! For those complaining about the breakfast box, go to Harry Gows bakery just behind the hotel for breakfast, much better choice.

I love this place, absolutely love it. But I’ve no idea why they use the same food wholesaler as hospitals do. The fish and chips were horrific. Hardly any fish, with inch thick batter, hardly cooked, full of oil and soggy. I wish they’d match Bruar or Anstruther, especially being more expensive than both. My meal was inedible. £25 for nothing.

We were really looking forward to our stay. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the friendly owner. In addition, the hotel is very quaint and clean. But... and now comes the big but: the service is an absolute disaster. At breakfast we were greeted by a very unmotivated and unfriendly lady and we quickly decided not to have breakfast in the hotel and rather visit a café. In the evening we wanted to give the hotel's pub/restaurant a try. We sat there for an hour without anyone coming to us. When we wanted to get drinks at the bar, we were greeted again in an unfriendly and grumpy manner. Otherwise we were ignored by the two waiters. They preferred to eat and drink with the people at the bar. But when local guests arrived, they were immediately served and given a card. We hadn't received a menu yet. And that after a good 1.5 hours. When we mentioned this, it was said that drinks were not ordered at the table but only at the bar. This turned out to be untrue when the waiter also provided other tables with drinks. When we asked for the menu, it was put in front of us without a word and the food we ordered was then brought back in a wordless and grumpy manner. It was our fourth trip to Scotland. We have never experienced such behavior in any hotel. This time we wanted to support a small hotel and family business and not always the big hotel chains. But this experience makes us think again.

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, and the best Belgian waffles I have ever had. Vegetarian breakfast was also delicious, a welcome treat
