Have they closed? They seem to not ever open now.

Booked for a birthday party, had to confirm the booking and got there and it was shut! No explanation, no answering emails or messages, nothing!

Slow service, and the burritos were meh

On arrival the waitress explained there might be a short wait due to "popularity " so me and my partner had an extra drink ,food was amazing, music was loud and to our taste as was the atmosphere, drinks were also to our taste

Not a good experience, unfortunately. The restaurant was freezing cold and the music was quite loud. There was food and grime dried onto the menus, and the tables were sticky. The bathrooms were worse. The server was friendly but didn't know what the specials were or what wasn't available from the menu, meaning we had to change our orders. The food was decent, bar the chicken fajitas which were poor. I don't think I'll be back any time soon.

Food was alright, birria tacos were a little underwhelming for £10.50, the kale/greens in the taco didn’t really match the rest of the flavours and they tasted quite different to other birria tacos I’ve had in the past (too sweet, and not served with consommé). Was also hoping there would be 3 of them like the rest of the taco offerings but there were only 2. The restaurant was quite cold inside. To management: please roster more staff on. The staff were doing their best but there clearly aren’t enough people working to serve a full floor of customers, run food, as well as make cocktails. I had to ask for the bill multiple times and was left waiting 25 minutes to pay.

Food was really nice but from last time I was there, portion size has definitely dropped. Blue Long Island was okay but slightly bland in taste and presentation compared to what it used to be like was really lacking. Strawberry margarita was lovely, just not in a margarita glass ? I never care where I’m seated in a restaurant but we were sat right beside the door which would never be an issue, but there was no heating on. It was so cold in there. Usually they’ve got gas heaters to warm the place up but not yesterday. Feels like the overall quality has dropped.

We can only agree with the negative reviews. The place was incredibly cold. The food was terrible (according to the waitress, the chef probably went home in the afternoon in an argument...). My wife's bowl was missing both the rice and the cabbage, the salsa sauce and the avocado... the nacho sauce on the fries was cold and sticky, making it hard to eat. The condition did its best, but of course couldn't distract from the poor quality of the food. We would never go here again.

We had a lovely meal and the staff were brilliant, will definitely go again.

DON’T go here if you want good food - It’s a bar which is trying to sell food. the food is too expensive for what it really is - feels like a supermarket ready meal.

Food was good, big portions and normal prices. The place was very cold and definitely needs a good cleaning even though we were there just after the opening. Sauces and vinegar that were next to the tables were almost empty.

Tasty food, sadly they were out of taquitos and out of pork. Which, if one serves mostly chicken or pork dishes eliminates a rather large part if the choises. However tbe food that we ordered was good and decent portionsize. The service felt a bit 'forced'.

No había uniforme de trabajo apropiado y cuando se le preguntó por qué era eso, respondió “Soy el subcocinero amigo, hago lo que quiero”, lo que para mí es completamente inaceptable. Después de pedir comida tardó 35 minutos en llegar y fue muy agobiante, 4 trozos pequeños de pollo para 4 envolturas grandes no parece funcionar muy bien. En general una experiencia muy decepcionante y no volveremos a menos que las cosas cambien y los chefs aprendan higiene y profesionalidad (pelo rosa y una gorra al revés).

Food was good, but bizarrely half the food and drink on the menu was unavailable. Service was OK, staff were friendly.

Unfortunately poor experience, very friendly waiting staff obviously under pressure and admitted they were understaffed but were managing just about. We visited on a Friday night but we're informed there were no pork options that night which eliminated about 1/3rd of the options. Not a problem as we're vegetarian, but then attempting to order vegetarian options we were told that anything with "vegetables" in the description were unavailable as well. We settled on ordering jackfruit and the cheese tacos. As we waited for food there were 2 separate tables coming up to the bar and quite vocally complaining about the food quality and quantity, quite honestly ruining the mood and making us anxious about what we were about to be served. Tacos came and there were 2 or each instead of 3 stated on the menu, the waitress told us that's because the tacos are bigger tonight and therefore you get one less, however the tacos were quite small and the filling wasn't much to be desired. We also ordered the "loaded" fries, which were utterly laughable when arrived, no word of a lie (we counted) there were 12 chips with clearly microwaved cheese on top, I didn't get a picture as I sent them straight back to the kitchen telling the waitress there must have been a mistake, she returned and informed me this was the portion size for £7!! Both the waitress and I laughed at the situation and I informed her to return them to the kitchen to which she completely understood. The vibe and cleanliness felt more likened to a club than a restaurant/bar, sticky tables, views into the grotty kitchen when you go down to the toilets, extremely poor hygiene standards in toilets. Unfortunately it was incredibly clear to all the diners that evening that the restaurant hadn't received the food delivery that week and they were completely unable to get any semblance of good quality food out of the kitchen. Front of house staff did well to manage a pretty dire situation when in all honesty they should have closed and tried to sort out the issues they had. We unfortunately won't be returning after this experience and urge anyone going here to set your expectations accordingly.

It was a bad decision to eat here. The cheese on the nachos for the appetizer was not melted. Afterwards we waited a long time for the main course and had to ask because we had hardly received any attention in the understaffed side room. The burgers in the children's menu came without sauce and we had to order ketchup. There was no salad or other sauce either. Just buns and meat with some French fries. Very unloving. My wife ordered a MILD burrito. Even for me - I like spicy food - I could tell that it was too spicy. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't respond to the complaint and replied that Mexican food was spicy. My chili was okay, but also a bit too spicy and the rice seemed warmed up (had lumps). Once and never again!

Popped in on the off chance today as they were opening too see if they would have a table for 3 they were so happy to invite us in xx service from both Aaron and Taylor was outstanding x the food was incredible, very very tasty indeed so full of flavour, credit to the kitchen staff. The atmosphere was great all in I think we may have found our new favourite restaurant x thanks for everything's guys see you all soon #Jamiesonpool clan

If you're local, this place seems like your best option for Mexican food according to the other reviews. If you are traveling and are seeking authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex, this is NOT it. Based on our meals, no one from the kitchen has ever been near Mexico. This was the worst meal we had on our entire trip. Though, based on other reviews it seems like the locals really dig it. They're in for a real shock if they're ever stateside.

The friendly waiterdude deserved better food to serve. We waited a long time for the most bland Tex-Mex food we've ever had, with parsley instead of coriander/cilantro. The 'sizzling' chicken fajitas consisted of a sliced chicken fillet on a strange stir-fry with tomatoes, accompanied by three folded wraps that broke when we tried to unfold them. Sauces were store-bought and depressing. The beef chili in beer had only two bits of beef and a few beans. Chicken tacos had cold chicken. The children's menu included sad nachos with nothing added, a microwaved burrito with chips (?) and wilting salad from a bag without any dressing. The side dishes (Buffalo wings and spicy cauliflower) were smothered in an unappetizing hot sauce. We were very disappointed. This is far removed from a taqueria, avoid this loveless restaurant.

Look at the menu before you order a margarita! £11.75 for a "large" margarita that was definitely on the small side. My bill, for one person, was £42. Food was great. Get the food, skip the alcohol.

Awful staff, ask for no ice in drink, they bring ice in drink, i ask for no spicy, they bring spicy cips…not recommended at all, awful stuff to…

If I could give them zero stars, I would. 20 minutes to get acknowledged, then drink order took 15 minutes to get, food came out 30 min later, one plate completely missing, one plate cold to the point the cheese wasn’t even melted on the quesadilla. Then, the waitress acted annoyed when we asked to warm it up and to receive our MISSING plate we ordered. Don’t go here, not worth it.

Although they advertise the food as Mex-Tex, it would be a stretch to call this Mexican food. As a Texan we had to give it a try though as we were missing Mexican food after a couple weeks in Scotland. The salsa tastes like spaghetti sauce, the chimichanga is very strange and the enchiladas are not really enchiladas. The queso was different, but not horrible though. The atmosphere was ok, but server was very slow and not very eager to help us. Worth a try, but I wouldn’t eat here again.

El ambiente era pobre ya que dos mujeres (una ex empleada, me dijeron) llegaron a tomar cócteles y procedieron a comportarse muy mal. Subirse a los taburetes, interrumpir las exhibiciones de sombreros, chillar fuerte, correr dentro y fuera de los baños y las puertas principales. Cuando usé el baño estaban sentados en los baños con las puertas abiertas de par en par usando lenguaje vulgar e intimidatorio hacia mí. Atormentaron y se burlaron del personal negándose sin piedad a irse cuando se lo pidieron. Me gustaría que los propietarios del restaurante fueran conscientes de su comportamiento vergonzoso y ofrecieran más apoyo a su personal si se volviera a presentar esta situación.

The service was extremely slow and when you see the staff just standing around it doesn’t help. The food was not good, it was edible. I suggest they look up what Mexican food is and serve the large margarita in a non Hawaiian themed glass. Music was my vibe but I could see people not liking it

Food was lovely, the staff were friendly and fast, was a bit cold but other lovely place, really cool decor!

Unfortunately service was slow. Waited over an hour for a drink. When food eventualy came it came in dribs and drabs and some of the order was wrong.

Great place. We had a cheese dip with Doritos. Can't mind what it was called. It's right at the top of the starter section. Dip was bangin but needs twice the amount of tortilla chips/Doritos, pork tacos we top notch but chicken tacos where quite dry.

I came in for a table for two on a sunday at 5pm. the place only had one other table. three staff were standing around the bar talking and no one came and took our order. we sat waiting for 20 mins well no one did anything so we got up and left. horrible service and not acceptable.

Have been a couple times and every time the service and food have been delicious. The drinks are amazing and such a huge choice. Would definitely recommend this place.

We had such a good evening here. As soon as we walked in the friendliness of the staff, the decor and the music all impressed us. The vegetarian sharing menu was exceptional. We just can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Cocktails were lovely, the staff were friendly and the food was tasty! I had the quesadillas with chipotle chicken and my friend had the chicken tacos and both were lush!

Aaron did us a perfect Tequila flight really enjoyed it. But like whisky flights but tequila. The food was unreal too highly recommend. Especially queso fundido. Love it. :)

Cute place. Nice music. Drinks were OK. Servers very sweet. Food was not great, it wasn't just not authentic but it wasn't good. Not worth the high prices. They were out of many things. Servers were sweet. Can't fault them. Bathrooms were clean.

Fast and friendly service, good food..very big place. Typical Mexican style menu. Quite quirky decor..needs upgrading inside. Shabby chic style with sombrero lampshades. We had fajitas...very nice and reasonably priced though the sauces are all bought. Food needs seasoned.

Lovely service! The food was okay. The pork pibil tacos were really good but the nachos were dry and gross tbh. The place was freezing felt nothing like Mexico. Adios, hasta NO luego!

Fab night with friends , great food , big portions & lots of choice on the menu. We had nachos to start off with & tacos with choice of filling with chips& salad & other friend had beef burger chips & salad , food absolutely fab very tasty. Will be back again.

Food was Amazing!! Shared a starter followed by tacos and side salad. Really good seasoning and spices, I usually add salt to everything (habit) and didn’t miss not having salt at the table as the flavours were too good. We were so full up after but already made our choice for the next time we visit- it a definite for out next stop in Inverness 👌🏼👌🏼 Staff very friendly, a really chilled vibe and very efficient.

Service was friendly although a bit slow. Food was ok, but I felt it was food I could make at home with supermarket groceries. The tacos fillings were good but the the tacos themselves weren’t even heated up, which made them flavourless and floppy. The dips that came with the nachos could’ve been separated in tiny dishes instead of plopped on top of the nachos. And we got plain tomato sauce instead of salsa… The choice of mocktails was good! Overall couldn’t ask much for a Mexican restaurant in Inverness could we? So a reasonable restaurant.

It’s such a shame the experience we had considering the food was really good. The service was disappointing . The fact we booked our table for half 7 and it took 20 minutes to get our order taken and then a following HOUR to find out the waiter never even placed our order. Not one person noticed, we didn’t say anything because they did seem busy at the beginning and didn’t want to be rude. However after an hour it was ridiculous. The second time our order got placed the food came within 20 minutes, and what we got absolutely cannot fault. The food really was amazing. However we did not get our starters at all because of the mess up and then it was too late as we had already been waiting an hour for a starter. To then get a drink and for it to have lipstick on it (when neither myself or my partner were wearing) was just the end of the night. We obviously complained about the situation after the main meals we did have, to be told it was policy they could only offer 2 tequila shots as an apology??? When we weren’t even drinking this evening this is also absolutely disappointing. All in all such a shame a place that did seem lovely and had good food was such a bad experience after looking forward to it and hearing great things.

I was first time in Inverness and one of places my friends advised me to go was Escobar. I never tried Mexican food before, but it’s in my favourite food list now. Food was great, portion big and dessert just delicious. I liked the atmosphere and music there. Also staff was very friendly. Kayleigh that served me was really helpful in choosing my meal and funny in conversation.

Cant comment on the atmosphere as it was a takeaway we got but the food was pretty poor ok if you like bags of nachos thats all the box contained was endless amounts of crisps

Lovely burrito with the spiciest sauce they had!. It is very hot if you want it to be .. beers a little pricey but all round nice 😅

We went in here for dinner and the food was really great! Big portions and very tasty. We also had cocktails off the massive cocktail menu, which were lovely. Will be back again.

Visited with a large group recently, the food was good and the service was friendly as well. Only thing was it was a bit loud, could maybe turn the music down a touch so we don't have to shout.

Staff are friendly like i know for years as they move around a lot but still know my name which is good they know what I like but if they don't have it to offer me

To be honest we have gone back here a few times to try different things on the menu. We kept giving the food the benefit of the doubt and hoping for a good portion and a hit of flavour. Unfortunately, all 3 times the food in both portion and flavor are middle of the road. Usually for a Mexican style place you would expect a good flavorsome tortilla and stuffed tacos. Similar for burritos. Here it seems they are just missing the mark for what to expect from a Mexican restaurant. In all honesty the food is decent but in my experience, particularly being from North America where this an abundance of Mexican. The food is not quite what I was expecting. The price for quantity and flavor is not worth it for me to return soon. The people are nice and staff do a good job but I wish I had just bit more from the food.

Vegan menu was great. The salsa and chips were very small portions, but the food was well sized for price. I loved the use of well cooked winter vegetable in all the vegan options. Cocktails were incredible!

Not usually a fan of Tex Mex food but this place surpasses expectations in every way. The food is delicious and served promptly and the bar/waiting staff are superb! Highly recommend this place.

What a shame. It just shows the difference waiting staff can make to a venue. We had a large group meal, 7 people , twice in 2 weeks. We came back because we had an excellent night on the first visit, excellent food served by an enthusiastic waitress, with a bit of banter, perfect. The second visit however was very different 24th October, this waitress was going through the motions, absolutely not interested, then after our main the barman asked us if we wanted our bill, we were not offered desserts or coffee etc. He clearly wanted us gone, even though new guests were arriving, a totally different night, unfortunately x it was also very cold. Ps the food was still great. So... It's a risk, depending on who your server is

First time here , came with my friend for drinks, really friendly staff , great atmosphere & welcoming. Will be back for food as it looked great.

It was a very interesting meal. Everything was good and tasty but bother quite felt like true Mexican. The queso was good but unlike an queso I’ve ever had - it was like the filling of a pizza roll.

Was a bit of a let down, food was average at best but the service was terrible. We had to wait and try and attract the attention of a waiter and flag them down for everything from knife and forks (taken away with the starters) to more drinks and then finally the bill. It wasn't like they were even busy, there were more staff then customers when we were there but they were more interested in chatting to each other at the end of the bar. Can't think of a reason we'd go back.

Edit: I didn't leave a written review because i thought it better left unsaid, but since you, the owner, commented and i cant reply to your comment, yes, we left because we found you to be rude and did not want to support your small business. We held the door for you in the rain and you said nothing. No big deal. Then, as we are reading the menu, rather than say "excuse me" and walk past, you pushed your way behind myself and my wife with your dog. Which leads me to the last point why we left, you might like your dog, but to a customer in a restaurant, it's gross to see your dog walking around where my food and drinks are being served. Also, at the time, you didn't have beef on the menu for tacos. How can you be a taqueria without beef tacos?

Nice food, more for people who enjoy spice as there are very few mild options on the menu, and very good service throughout

It was ok for me, food was decent, the restaurant was a tad cold, they had 2 portable gas fires on the go so I presume they had heating issues.

Worst Mexican food we have ever had. All 8 of us ordered different items and they were all amazingly bad, like really bland. This place must be a front for some other nefarious business. No way they could stay in business for long with that food.

The environment of the place was very pleasant and I really liked hat-lamp decorations 😊 (very authentic). The Latin music was also well chosen and not being fan of spicy food, I found something for my taste. Would definitely go to visit this place again.

Decent food but we asked for water and realized when the bill came we were charged $8 for a bottle of water! We were shocked and mentioned it before we paid our bill. All we got was a shrug. Would not recommend.

Booked online with ease. Seated promptly, great table by the window. Fantastic selection of food, drinks including wonderful cocktails. All beautifully presented. Service was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. Order taken promptly, explained and read back to us. Service checks, to see if everything to our liking, which it was. Definitely recommend and be back. Thank you for an enjoyable and relaxing lunch.

We were turned away at 10.55pm because they were closing, even though Google and their website says they shut at midnight on Fridays. Probably weren't missing much because there was no atmosphere or friendliness when we walked in.

Went for an early dinner with friends, food was excellent and service was good. We were asked to pre order and mostly ordered single course but wasn’t advertised that it was a minimum of 2 course set menu so were over charged £70. Tried to...

Good spacious restaurant, nice simple Mexican decor. Loads of colour hats. We ordered chicken quesadillas, fries nachos and chicken tacos all were just perfect. They need to improve on their signboard as it’s quite small. It can be missed easily.

This restaurant is cheating on bills and their service was the most pathetic we have come across in Scotland . We ordered vegetarian fajitas and quesadillas and requested ' tap water' along with it. The server came with 3 "already opened " water bottles?! When we asked her 'manager' about it he said let me check and disappeared forever. The server then got us food in 4 batches -first grilled veges for fajitas then Quesadilla then dips and salsa and at last taco shells for fajitas after multiple reminders and completely ignored us throughout our dinner . As my son was thirsty he had water from 1 already opened bottle, we left the other two untouched. The server still billed us £8.40 for 1 used water bottles. She didn't even bother to acknowledge her mistake leave alone apologizing or correcting it. Such a pathetic and disappointing attitude!!! Why are you guys cheating and refusing customers famous Scottish tap water which we are all proud of ?! Update :The response by business that 'we assumed bottles were free' to our genuine concern is downright disrespectful. Bottles served to us were already opened and were not taken back even after highlighting the to the manager that we never asked for it. We didn't even touch the remaining 2 bottles and were still charged for all 3. Please stop cheating your customers and stop charging them for 'open' water bottles unless they order for it. This doesn't represent fair business practice anywhere in the world and least of all in Scotland where we have only experienced amazing culture of hospitality and strong business ethics at every other establishment.
