The food was good but a bit pricey with an ordinary ham salad sandwich at £7. We also had 2 pepperoni pizzas, a side of chips, a pulled pork and dirty fries basket and soft drinks all round and the total came to over £70, a bit mad considering what we'd already paid in activities and the fact that's it's advertised as a cafe, not a restaurant. The interior was nice and clean and the serving staff were great. The views were fab, I wished we'd picked outdoor seating! The major negatives were that there was a birthday party on the upper floor with the continuous tooting of party blowers which gets old VERY quickly and I took my daughter to the loo 3 times during the course of our activities on the mountain and each time there was a male cleaner in the ladies with no signage saying he was in there which I didn't like at all. The toilets should have been closed while the cleaning was being done or a sign up at the very least to warn of a man in there. We were already in the first time he came through the door and everyone just turned and looked at one another in confusion

Never bother tell us when we entered the kitchen will be closed by 4. Even though we were there just before 4 (8 mins), still did not take order for pizza, so we had 2 cakes and 2 juice (which missed the straws, so could not drink it… staff seemed to be okay, but not with it informing us about closing time… the view is super, but would not come back here again

Great place to stop for a bite to eat and a drink whilst you're exploring the scenic surroundings. I was a little dubious at first as (like most other tourist places) this place is your only refuel stop up here, so was expecting to pay over the odds for everything, but to my suprise the food and drink was actually competitively priced. The service was great and the turnaround was pretty speedy. Very impressed, that couple with the undeniable views and the rustic alpine lodge interior was a surprisingly good visit.

We sat upstairs. Downstairs I asked when the cafe would open and a rude staff member told me that the cafe was open upstairs with a tone as if I was an idiot but the downstairs was all closed with a red bar a cross the entrance so of course I thought it wasn't open. Upstairs was cold without any atmosphere at all, nothing cosy about it, an industrial vibe and quite echoey- really won't be nice when busy. Reminded me of a university canteen. Huge log burner was gorgeous but they didn't top it up, possibly as they weren't too far off closing, when it was topped up it was really nice though the place was cold unless you sat right next to it. Tea was awful and we couldn't put our own milk in- they do it for you but they left the tea bags in ages before doing it, I had to go back and request more milk to make mine drinkable but my husband couldn't even drink his he said it tasted like pond water. Mac and cheese was nice but menu very limited and the chips were bog standard like something from wetherspoons. Food was expensive too. My autistic daughter burned her hand in the disabled toilets as the red and blue on the tap are the wrong way around, she cried all the way home. The male member of staff clearing tables did ask if she was OK so that was nice. In conclusion - I liked the fairy lights, though I'm assuming they're only there for Xmas and it'll be very cold and unwelcoming without them, and I would recommend the mac and cheese, but everything else was rubbish including most of the service. If you want nice food go to aviemore, not here, you'll get nice food and a cosy atmosphere for less money.

Stopped here for a wee drinky and there was a lovely log burning fire blazing away. Weather outside was very foggy so we didn't see much, but we were nice and warm inside. I'd imagine on a clear day the views are spectacular.

So the girl who served me really seemed like she didn't know what she was doing, had to ask how to put juice through, didnt take a table number, had to ask another staff member if she takes the order slip to the kitchen, didn't ask me if I wanted a recipe. Orderd a burger and chips, £10 that's was a fair price, chips hot and crispy, the burger was burnt, dry, chewy, it was laggard in burnt onions also, couldn't eat it, bottle of Pepsi max £3.50 is shocking.

To start off with, the staff were amazing and super friendly. Even though it was madly busy they were on the ball constantly so that all tables were clear and tidy and they were still friendly and lovely despite the hard work they were putting in. My only suggestion would be that the restaurant could do with an expansion. The skiers are in there taking up seating and tables for most of the day which makes it hard to get a table, so perhaps a designated skier area (where they can wear their boots and gear with standing on other peoples feet or bags). - but that's nothing that the staff can do, so it's no criticism on them. The place is super dog friendly even offering pupacinos to your furry friends.

What a lovely and welcome surprise The Cairngorm Cafe is. Usually, resort cafes are a bit impersonal and functional, but this cafe rejects this classification. Interesting internal architecture acknowledging the Alpine with a warm feel and cheerful staff make this a fairly perfect rest and refuel for hikers returning from the nearby summits of Cairn Gorm or Ben MacDui. An array of home-made looking cakes and proper decent coffee are always the best antidote for weary and weather torn trekkers, and this does not disappoint. Someone has obviously taken pride in making the angular stairs an interesting transition to a cosy upstairs internal balcony, which is also in addition to an external veranda with a view across the valley. The already plentiful seating is supplemented with a parasoled patio at the front of the building for the odd millisecond when you don't need a snorkel to go outside. It has to be a worthy 5-stars because a lot of effort has gone into providing something for everyone on quite a big scale whilst retaining a homely and friendly vibe and simultaneously serving delishy cakes and coffee...and they've pulled it off with consummate fashion. NOTE: Google has it listed as "The Storehouse", but this is incorrect, so don't go looking for that! I have tried to update Google's listing to the correct name of "The Cairngorm Cafe" multiple times, but each time it is rejected. There are plenty of outdated reviews and a few of the pictures are not representative any longer. I have tried to make Google aware but to no avail.

Popped up to see a little snow, unfortunately none this time around apart from the Snow Factory, which I had a giggle at. At least it wasn't a wasted trip, popped in here for a little warms and decided to crack on with some home made macaroni and cheese and a plate of chips.
