We felt very judged. Staff were arrogant and rude. Felt like all the white families were being treated like royalty and us like rubbish

Visited here whilst on a trip to Bowness-on-Windermere with my wife and son. We were greeted very warmly by the gentleman and seated. The mocktails very very interesting, modestly priced and very tasty. Food was also very well presented. Won't attempt to say what dishes we ordered (I'd embarrass myself) but they were very well cooked and were delicious. My son also enjoyed the treat provided to him by the gentleman who seated us. Thumbs up from him as well as thumbs up from us. See you next time we are in Bowness!

We never had a booking ( I would advise doing so, very busy) we where just blessed 🙌 😇 to get a table right beside the window. Very authentic Italian with Italian staff 😀 beautiful place inside the food was outstanding. I had the prawns to start with garlic and chilli, bread to dip into the sauce 😋 lots of them and very fresh. The spaghetti carbonara was plentiful and very creamy. My friend enjoyed her brushetta and Italian based pasta. The glass of red was a shirize full bodied and went very well with my dishes. Full menu, Great drinks list, reasonably priced. Staff where lovely and friendly

Really nice family run Italian restaurant with authentic dishes, quality ingredients, nice vibe and good service. Not many of these left.

A regular favourite for dinner, staff are always smiling, and food is 10/10.

The pizza is very good for a touristic place like this, the atmosphere of the restaurant is generally good. We ordered the kids menu because we have a child, but the waiter refused to let us order two meals from the kids menu and said that this is the restaurant policy, one meal for each child! After paying they gave us chocolate and candy for the child.

One of the most beautiful Italian restaurants. Even in Italy, I have not tasted the same flavor and quality of dishes. The oysters with tomato sauce are very delicious, as are the margherita pizza, pizza with white sauce, and penne pasta with chicken. They are very delicious, and the service is fast and the staff is friendly. Thank you💐❤️

Very busy when we visited but staff very helpful, not a long wait. Food very good and reasoble price as was the wine, would go again.

If there is a zero star I would give the manger and the stuff are racist . He told us that it will take time till he will serve us .Then a native family came and he serve them with respect and welcoming Really awful service, And too rude behavior of manager and staff, They don’t care of anything and the request of customers are not important for them , As well so dirty dishes.We left the restaurant and he was shouting at us like crazy man .This is the worse restaurant I visited in my entire life .

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to! My pizza was excellent and everyone else on my table was also very impressed with their food. I would recommend booking as the restaurant and the outside seating was completely full when I went. Overall, a lovely restaurant with friendly staff and good food, I hope to return here the next time I visit Windermere.

Worst ever experienced for calamari and king prawn ever tried a

Lovely evening at Trattoria. Food came out quickly, piping hot and tasted amazing. Dessert was equally delicious. Our waitress despite being rushed off her feet was attentive and helpful. The restaurant was buzzing and very busy with a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Bowness.

The location of the restaurant is wonderful, on a lively street. It serves Italian food, but as Muslims, please note the vegetarian options. I asked the employee about how to slaughter chicken, and he told me that he did not know and they were not interested in halal food. In general, the margherita pizza is delicious.

I ordered a margherita pizza and pasta with cheese. They were delicious, to be honest. The order arrived quickly, but the staff is not good at treating them.

The meal was delicious. Despite arriving during a busy period, our food was served within 12 minutes. Be cautious, as the food is served very hot. We had Pollo Trattoria and Penne Al Forno. The Garlic Cheese Pizza was superb.. Delizioso 😋

The food is delicious. We ordered a pizza with vegetables and sundried tomatoes, which was very delicious, an excellent sea food lasagna, a medium Caesar salad, and delicious fried oysters. At first, the reception’s treatment was very bad, and then it changed its treatment. I honestly know the reason, possibly work pressure.

Nice looking restaurant in a good location. However, very average food at above average prices. The pizzas were passable, but the starters were poor, the “Trio Italian” was clearly frozen and refried, and literally tasteless.

Vegetable stew was raw and the bread was hard. When I told the waitress she seemed quite disinterested and said she told the chef even though she didn’t. Poor show

I try not to write bad reviews, as it’s only my opinion However the weekend of 6th July I was celebrating my birthday, we went to see if we could get a table at Trattoria with no reservations, instead of a warm welcome or a regrettable no tables available, we had a arrogant pompous attitude from the man at the door who would only offer outside seating on the edge of the road with the smell of the sewer pipe in the street billowing towards the restaurant !! Obviously a little annoyed but understanding that we had not booked there was no availability for us. On the second day we tried again a little earlier this time, But again the extremely rude attitude filled guy on the door was prejudging us and in a disrespectful tone dismissed us , my husband challenged his no ability answer and was soon forced out of the restaurant by the guy who said no available seating!! even though there was many seats available inside Unprofessional behaviour to say the least and extremely disrespectful attitude, I hope they learn customer service as they will soon need it Unfortunately for this mediocre Italian restaurant, we found a much more pleasant and welcoming , friendly restaurant which treated us well and made us feel like we were royalty, this restaurant was called “CAFE ITALIA “AMAZING PEOPLE SERVICE” and wonderful food go try there instead So it is Safe to say we will never go to Trattoria ever again and if you are wise neither would you I had to give one star only because I couldn’t give a zero!!

Decided to try here as I haven't been to an Italian style restaurant in a long time. Got seated quick as there wasn't many customers at that time eating there and had our order taken as soon as we had finished choosing. Food tasted very home made which is always a bonus and was amazing. I had the tagliatelle and meatballs and my friend has the lasagne. My friend said it was too cheesy for him but admitted that as personal preference and not a complaint. My friend dropped his knife as he was eating by accident which was quickly replaced without asking by a member of staff which is good service in my opinion as they try to make your dining experience great. When it came to paying, my friend and I preferred to pay for the food and drinks we each ordered but rather than having time to work it out, the woman taking the payment was replaced by a man who was more in a rush to take the payment no matter how we worked it out which didnt sit too well for us but nevermind. We ended up splitting the bill and figuring out how much we owed each other later. I would have marked it down for service for that reason but with the quick seating, fast order taking and the knife replacement, I decided not to mark this down. As a heads up, it's either pay in full or pay half each and work it out yourself later so you don't get impatiently rushed to pay. I think it would be better for the restaurant to make it clear before ordering that they prefer either someone pays the full amount or split the total cost between the amount of people at the table to save the confusion for the staff and the customer.

My boyfriend and I ordered a quatro formaggi pizza and a cannelloni with spinach+ricotta filling. The food here is aggressively average for the price. In my case, I found some parts of the cannelloni taste a little off as well. Also, their choice of music does not help.

Walked into Trattoria last week and booked a table for two for tonight (29th July for 7pm). The lady wrote on their card the details and gave it to me. Walked in tonight for our reservation and the very rude man said we did not have a booking, he asked if we had the right name, time, restaurant. I told him about when we booked and described who we booked with, he said we were wrong. We left. We won’t be returning. We went to Rastellis, local recommended it and it was amazing.

Had a lovely dinner at Trattoria after a long cycling ride. The quality of food was superb and the amount served was quite generous. The staff is friendly, attentive and clearly cares about customers. Highly recommend!

Very bad service and unprofessional staff

Great tasting food, had the bruschetta and chefs special pizza. Both were fantastic and portion sizes were generous. Prices were good compared with other restaurants near by and the outdoor seating atmosphere was great with the view of the main road cutting through the town. Staff were lovely and tended to our table well. Would I eat here again? Yes

After a long day travelling to the area we decided to find a dog friendly place to eat. This restaurant turned out to be a perfect choice. Dog friendly, great customer service, superb food.

Lovely food, polite staff, nice view into the main street. We came here twice during our stay. We did only have a magaritta pizza but it was a really good pizza.

I went to the restaurant for the first time. I was impressed with the quality of the food and drinks. I had a enjoyable meal. I found the staff friendly and helpful. I did notice that people sitting outside sometimes found it difficult to get the attention of the staff who were very busy.

£18 for microwaved food. Pasta, prawns and cherry tomatoes were lukewarm and did not taste fresh - should’ve been a giveaway when it came so quickly. Waste of money and the atmosphere and presentation was like no one could be bothered.

The Trattoria pizza was exceptional.

Piping hot delicious food, arrived really fast to the table and the service from the staff was brilliant. People definitely need to try this place out. Also, you have so many food options, me and my partner couldn't decide!

We ate at this restaurant because we had visited before but unfortunately the food was not as good. One meal we ordered was a Spaghetti Bolognaise which was not very warm when it arrived at our table. The meal was sent back to the kitchen & the meal returned hotter. The staff never enquired if we had enjoyed our meal. Very disappointed

Lovely wine, however £25 for a bottle I feel a little expensive, starters lovely, 1st main course of sea bass (£21.95) sea bass lovely however served on a bed of, well I really have no words to explain it other than over cooked olives, some green leaves and mushrooms??? 2nd main course of penna arrabbiata was acceptable, nothing outstanding. All in all a very underwhelming experience and we feel expensive for what we received.

Had a lovely time as a couple for a calm birthday meal. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our prosecco was served promptly, and our food arrived just minutes later. It was great to see so many gluten free and vegan options, as they can be a struggle to find. My gluten free pizza was the best I've had so far (capricciosa without ham). My only suggestion would be for the toppings to be mixed more rather than in sections, but I just did this myself. My partner loved his Tangliatelle al pollo. The portions were perfect, we have a good appetite and we had the option to take leftovers home. We were offered free limoncello and little chocolates to end the meal. Lovely ambiance with decor and music, would love to come again.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, very good quality, fast service, nice and atentive staff. Run by real italians so the food was a re taste of Italy. However, It was very hard to park in Windermere.

Really bad, service was bad, pizzas were very close to inedible. Avoid. Better pizza place just 10mins walk up the road.

Had dinner on 20th May. For 2 people. Walked in 8pm and waitress told me fully booked till 9pm. Asked her to reserve next available slot only to be advised to book on line. Offered to be seated outside in the cold.There was a small bar heater above, so sat outside. Waitress did not return to take order! Funnily, online slot at 8.30pm available, so booked it .At 8.20pm went inside to tell staff that nobody attending table outside and had managed to get a table reservation at 8.30pm inside. Was amazed to see most of the tables inside were empty! Once seated, waitress told me as there are only a few staff members , she had told me it was fully booked! Ordered a pizza and pasta dish . The pizza was baked with almost raw vegetables on top, not baked properly. The pasta was extremely spicy, even though ,had mentioned wanted it mild. When waitress came to ask if all OK, pointed the pasta was too spicy. She went to ask the chef, who we heard shouting that it was supposed to be like that. Waitress never came back. We have travelled all over the world for 50 + years but have to say this was definitely the worst experience in a restaurant. Avoid !!!

The service we received was very poor, we weren’t even asked if we would like a drink, they new in advance it was our ruby wedding anniversary and not even a mention of it, food ok but nothing to shout about, and weren’t even offered desserts after our meal, so we just ended up asking for the bill

The staff wasn’t very welcoming or accommodating, their attitude was very rude and the staff seems to be islamophobic as they refused to clean an available table despite our booking claiming that it wouldn’t be cleaned for twenty minutes but as soon as we decided to leave the premises they began clearing the table. Would not recommend dining here.

Muslim Hattered Restaurant Behaviour of staff was bad specifically towards Muslim customer. They wanted us not to have dinner there and tried to persuade us not to come any time, though we had preboking for dinner on two different occasions

Sloppy based pizza with the top sliding off it.. sent it bk.. poor quality food.. Chef looked dismayed as we walked in.. it was the only restaurant not fully booked on a bank holiday weekend- for good reason.

Simply wonderful. My date night choice of restaurant for my other half’s surprise night away for her birthday. And oh the team at trattoria did not disappoint. Wonderful stuff, phenomenal food and a real great environment. Felt like we was abroad given the hot day we had and we was sat outside. Birthday treat and happy birthday song by the whole team on my request which was amazing (she was not best pleased with me, but she loved it really) But this gets a full 5 Star Review from us both. Thank you to you all.

Visited as a child/teen many years ago and wanted to see if the lasagne was still as amazing as I remembered, it was!! We have recently been to Italy and this lasagne was much better than the one I’d had in Italy

Starter was garlic bread to share, it was OK lacking the garlic flavour , however both our mains were good and good value . After the meal waited for a while , not offered the dessert menu , or any other drinks . So paid the bill and left

Lovely place, AMAZING FOOD! I had the cannoline with ricotta & spinach (£15.95). Just heavenly! Very tasty and was served hot hot hot in a metal pan. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Atmosphere was nice & place was clean & warm. I had a great experience. I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

The staff was lovely, very welcoming and we even got some complimentary strawberry Prosecco and chocolate at the end of our meal. There are a few options that can be made vegan upon request which is great. The portions are massive but it’s a bit expensive for what you get in my opinion (all restaurants in Bowness are very over priced). The food was nice but not the best I’ve had, it was a bit too oily and not enough spices. Would recommend if you are vegan as the options are scarce in the area.

Visited here in April. Have had numerous tasty meals in Italian restaurants but this one leaves a lot to be desired. Decided to go for non pasta dishes as had eaten in a delightful local Italian restaurant the evening before. Started with deep fried calamari. Arrived anaemic looking with floury batter and completely tasteless. Main course was pan cooked chicken with mushrooms in a cream sauce with roasted potato wedges. The chicken was bland, tasted boiled. The sauce was very watery as were the potatoes that didn’t look or taste roasted. Along with the bill came a glass of something yellow but wasn’t told what it was! Obviously alcoholic when tasted. To boot there was no greeting at the door and certainly that evening the staff seemed grumpy and not a smile in sight.

Had Bruschetta Starter and it was ok. Main meal was not a great meal at all. Im fat and a really greedy person and i left 80% of the meal. Thats saying something for me! its a tourist resturant as they get one time visitors, so i guess they are not too bothered. Have a bit of pride in your food, you are italians for goodness sake.

The atmosphere and the staff here is very rude to the customers. Showed a racist behavior. "She" was being rude when we took the tissues. The food here is very disgusting!

Took 30 minutes for someone to take our drinks order, then another 15 for our food orders to be taken. This definitely is not authentic italian food, we ordered the cacio e pepe and it was coated in a thick and heavy cream the carbonara also had cream in it. The food came out very quickly after orders had been given. 4 dined for about £120 including two bottles of wine, but wouldn’t be visiting again.

Absolutely loved the food here. We walked in without a reservation and were seated promptly. The staff was very friendly and relaxed. At no point we felt rushed or pressured. The menu is quite extensive with good options for vegetarians. I took their vegetable stew which was absolutely soul warmingly delightful. All meals had very healthy potions and were done to high quality - whether it was plating or the taste itself. Tiramisu here was very very tasty.

Horrible food and the waiter was so rude. The food here is anything but authentic Italian. Do not trust the good reviews on google, it made us choose this place. Very disappointing and the worst meal I have ever had.

Really poor dinner. The couple next to us walked out due to it being bland but we stayed to see it through. My garlic bread was under cooked and had hard bits in it. And the pasta was very tasteless. Partner had pizza and really liked it but I feel their 4 star reputation is a bit misleading

We called here yesterday after not having much of a plan. We had my little dog with me and weren't turned away, just informed that due to them having an open kitchen they cannot allow dogs in the building, which is perfectly acceptable. The staff were super friendly and definitely contributed to the overall experience. We ordered two pizzas, I knew what to expect from a ristorante/pizzeria, I grew up around Italians and had a lot of authentic Italian food and have been to eateries they know well. This food lived up to expectations and maybe overwhelmed my girlfriend a little as she wasn't prepared for the difference between pizza and real pizza. But yes the price was exceptionally good value for money and the whole experience was spot on. I wished I'd tried some pasta from here too as I'm sure it would have been delicious. I caught a glimpse of some being cooked when I went through to use the restroom as well as someone else's order that passed.

I came here for dinner almost a year ago and I still think about the pizza I ate daily. It was the best pizza I’ve ever had, and this is coming from someone who’s spent many summers in Italy. I can’t wait to come back soon!

Unfortunately one friend found a slug in the rocket when she ate her starter they were very apologetic but it did spoil the evening and they only took the price off for the starter so don't think we'll be back.

We ordered vegetarian pizza and bolognese pizza. Both were excellent Very good value for money. We were unable to finish our pizzas, so we were given a box so we could take unfinished slices away Great service Complimentary shots of limoncello liqueur afterwards were very much appreciated - thank you

Pasta, pizza and sea food ordered were tasty and well portioned. Friendly and welcoming staff.

Ordered take out whilst staying nearby, everything was very tasty and very big portions! Looking forward to visiting again.

I can absolutely recommend this place. I've had cannelloni it was amazing as you can see empty plate left, kids had pizza which they liked too and we had meatballs with pasta which also was nice.
