Enjoyed a wonderful meal here, the Calzone was delicious! One of the best I've ever had. Every bite was delicious and it was stuffed full with mozzarella cheese and fillings. Friendly service and quick to serve. I definitely recommend this place to enjoy an authentic Italian meal. They also serve Gluten Free pizza made from scratch which was delicious.

Really nice Italian. Called as one of the few open at 4pm but turned out to be an excellent choice. Food was spot and it has an authentic Italian feel. Warm inviting with Italian music playing in the back ground. Staff helpful and very friendly

As a couple we have been going for a few years when on holiday. However this year persuaded our son to come away for a few days,after we had finished he said that was the best pizza he had ever had and he has tried various pizza from where we live, ,excellent.

They say cook Italian food but everything we ordered as not taste. Do not recommend it at all.

We arrived on a Saturday without a booking and after a very short wait were given a table. All of the food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Would definitely eat here again. Could not fault!

Sadly empty when we arrived, as for food and value this place deserves to be busy! Service started a little slow, but when our waiter swapped we got very quick and friendly service. The pizzas were delicious, kids' menu was accommodating and they've gone to a lot of effort on little touches (e.g Halloween decorations, lollipops for the kids with the bill etc). Atrocious. Food and wine was well below average and the service was appalling. It’s no longer run by Italians but ignorant east Europeans. Used to come here every time we were in Bowness but will never return. It was awful.

Microwaved dry food!! I don’t usually leave reviews but this was the worst meal I’ve ever had out! Ordered the ‘trio Italian’ for starter, was so excited for some authentic Arancini only for my starter to be tasteless and tough as if it had been microwaved! Not fresh at all! Then for main I had lasagne and garlic bread… again, was hot at the edges and like warm in the middle - microwaved, rubbery and the garlic bread was just cooked dough with burnt garlic powder on top. I didn’t have the confidence to say anything to the waiter when they took out food away (mostly uneaten because it was so poor) so when they asked if the food was okay my boyfriend mentioned the lasagne was disappointing and the waiter didn’t even look up, he just walked off. We paid and left. I would strongly advise not wasting your money!

Came for takeaway pizza, was told initially the pizza would be 5 minutes if I ordered, which then turned out to be 35 minutes after ordering on the app. Although I probably would not have ordered had I known that, they at least let me wait in the restaurant. Our pizzas were not very good. Both had a really bland tomato base with no herbs or seasoning, as if it was just tomato puree. My Diavolo pizza was nothing remarkable. My wife's Parma ham and rocket pizza was drowning in parmesan shavings and again, not remarkable. Given it was c.£12.50 a pizza, so around £25 for two, and we were not eating out, not very good value for money and certainly not worth the wait. Would not recommend.

This is a very nice Italian restaurant. The service was very good and the food reasonably priced. On my visit, I had the Gamberoni starter and a pizza. The Gamberoni was very tasty, the chilli heat took me a bit by surprise and the waiter immediately brought me a glass of water. Good attentive service. The pizza although tasty, had way too much cheese on it. The waiter looked a bit annoyed at the kitchen staff, so it seems like it is a regular occurrence. More tomato base and less cheese would be much nicer. I would recommend Trattoria though.

One of the best restaurants in Windermere

An ordinary Italian restaurant. Once upon a time, I ordered fettuccine with mushrooms and chicken, and I swear I could not finish it without any taste. I ordered pasta with red sauce, medium flavor, and I ordered a pizza with regular cheese. Once in Arabic, Domino's Pizza is the best pizza from them. I wish it was cheap, my account was 60 pounds

If I could give less that 1 start I would called to place an order and the guy on the phone told me he was to busy to speak to me in a rude tone. All we wanted to know was what was gluten free and he was so rude awful customer service

Really, really, really bad. If I could score it zero I would. Not even close to Frankie and Benny's never mind an authentic Italian. The balsamic on the table had congealed and was unpourable. The rocket and parmesan salad came without parmesan with zero acknowledgement from the staff. The atmosphere and customer service is shocking. The food was just dropped on the table with no checks if things were ok. They just brought the card machine over stuck in my face and said "tap it", no thank you. Nothing. I know food tends to be based on opinion but I can assure you that this place isn't fit for purpose. It feels like they survive simply because they have a captive audience of tourists, not on quality of food. Don't waste your time. Just head to Rastelli.

Their service is terrible. I've visited twice, and both times the waiter's behavior was rude, not polite and unprofessional. There was clear racism and disrespect, which is absolutely unacceptable!

Food: A poor carbonara that will anger any Italian. They used bacon instead of cured pancetta and cream. The bacon was not even cooked properly, it was just boiled in the cream. The parmesan cheese was not as such, it may be just dried mozzarella. The mighty extra virging olive oil is not present, instead, they have a plastic bottle from Tesco that has a blend of olive oils, the most un-italian thing ever. Service: The restaurant had 5-6 tables with customers. It took a long while to be attended. When we finished, they pick our plates but no questions about how it was the food or if we wanted dessert or coffee. We were waiting there for 20 minutes, until we decided to just leave. Atmosphere: We found reggaeton and other loud "party" music in the restaurant, not exactly the type of music you expect on a weekday in an Italian restaurant. We also saw screws pointing out and holes on the walls. They use paper napkins and paper table cloth. When you have that price tag, you should honour it with good food, service and atmosphere, otherwise, it is more like a scam. The quality of this place has been going down over the years.

Food was okay but there was no atmosphere and the staff were quite rude and abrupt. The floor was slippy, quite dangerous especially if you were elderly. Whilst the food was okay, I wouldn't go back because of the rudeness of the staff.

We had a lovely meal at the Trattoria restaurant. Portions are large, tasty dishes. Pizza’s are well filled and crispy. My pasta was freshly cooked with gorgeous mushrooms & walnuts. Would highly recommended a visit and pre-book. The team are very friendly and quick service, with a complementary lemoncello.

Maybe I just made a bad choice. The chicken Caesar salad I can only describe as awful. The salad was swimming in dressing. The chicken was ok and the anchovies were abundant, too abundant. The wait service was good though.

I wish I could give them a star in minus. The food is horrible and the service is even worse than the food. 1st they were not ready to seat us and then afterwards they were serving us as if we were eating there for free. Stay away. The worst experience I had in my life.

This was a super busy Italian restaurant which is great for their business. I tried to get a table and the gentleman at the front couldn’t seat me until I returned after 15 minutes when he did eventually have a table for us (2 people) at around 7:30-7:45pm. We unfortunately did not 100% enjoy our food. We came hungry but not super hungry so we definitely had an appetite but not enough to order starters or desserts. I went for vegetariana pizza and my partner had the seafood pasta (Frutti di mare). The pizza had very good grilled toppings like aubergine and courgette but the bread was bland. Usually the Italian pizza should have a sourdough taste to lift the flavour of the bread and on this occasion bread was super bland which meant the other ingredients could not shine. The seafood pasta had a bitter taste to it despite being creamy. It was also missing a decent quantity size of fish (except prawn and mussels) such as calamari, shrimp and clams. Good to know that Halal chicken is served here. We also had an issue with a ketchup bottle which exploded on my partner when i opened it. The staff were very attentive and helpful in getting that cleaned up as well. The service in general was very good hence the high rating.

Staff were welcoming and quite attentive. The music in the background didn't add to the atmosphere. The food didn't really come across as authentic. The pate looked and tasted shop bought. The aubergine milazanhe lacked depth of flavour as did the lasagne.

Visited here whilst on a trip to Bowness-on-Windermere with my wife and son. We were greeted very warmly by the gentleman and seated. The mocktails very very interesting, modestly priced and very tasty. Food was also very well presented. Won't attempt to say what dishes we ordered (I'd embarrass myself) but they were very well cooked and were delicious. My son also enjoyed the treat provided to him by the gentleman who seated us. Thumbs up from him as well as thumbs up from us. See you next time we are in Bowness!

Great atmosphere and really nice food

We never had a booking ( I would advise doing so, very busy) we where just blessed 🙌 😇 to get a table right beside the window. Very authentic Italian with Italian staff 😀 beautiful place inside the food was outstanding. I had the prawns to start with garlic and chilli, bread to dip into the sauce 😋 lots of them and very fresh. The spaghetti carbonara was plentiful and very creamy. My friend enjoyed her brushetta and Italian based pasta. The glass of red was a shirize full bodied and went very well with my dishes. Full menu, Great drinks list, reasonably priced. Staff where lovely and friendly

The pizza is very good for a touristic place like this, the atmosphere of the restaurant is generally good. We ordered the kids menu because we have a child, but the waiter refused to let us order two meals from the kids menu and said that this is the restaurant policy, one meal for each child! After paying they gave us chocolate and candy for the child.

One of the most beautiful Italian restaurants. Even in Italy, I have not tasted the same flavor and quality of dishes. The oysters with tomato sauce are very delicious, as are the margherita pizza, pizza with white sauce, and penne pasta with chicken. They are very delicious, and the service is fast and the staff is friendly. Thank you💐❤️

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to! My pizza was excellent and everyone else on my table was also very impressed with their food. I would recommend booking as the restaurant and the outside seating was completely full when I went. Overall, a lovely restaurant with friendly staff and good food, I hope to return here the next time I visit Windermere.

Lovely evening at Trattoria. Food came out quickly, piping hot and tasted amazing. Dessert was equally delicious. Our waitress despite being rushed off her feet was attentive and helpful. The restaurant was buzzing and very busy with a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Bowness.

The location of the restaurant is wonderful, on a lively street. It serves Italian food, but as Muslims, please note the vegetarian options. I asked the employee about how to slaughter chicken, and he told me that he did not know and they were not interested in halal food. In general, the margherita pizza is delicious.

The food is delicious. We ordered a pizza with vegetables and sundried tomatoes, which was very delicious, an excellent sea food lasagna, a medium Caesar salad, and delicious fried oysters. At first, the reception’s treatment was very bad, and then it changed its treatment. I honestly know the reason, possibly work pressure.

Nice looking restaurant in a good location. However, very average food at above average prices. The pizzas were passable, but the starters were poor, the “Trio Italian” was clearly frozen and refried, and literally tasteless.

Vegetable stew was raw and the bread was hard. When I told the waitress she seemed quite disinterested and said she told the chef even though she didn’t. Poor show

I try not to write bad reviews, as it’s only my opinion However the weekend of 6th July I was celebrating my birthday, we went to see if we could get a table at Trattoria with no reservations, instead of a warm welcome or a regrettable no tables available, we had a arrogant pompous attitude from the man at the door who would only offer outside seating on the edge of the road with the smell of the sewer pipe in the street billowing towards the restaurant !! Obviously a little annoyed but understanding that we had not booked there was no availability for us. On the second day we tried again a little earlier this time, But again the extremely rude attitude filled guy on the door was prejudging us and in a disrespectful tone dismissed us , my husband challenged his no ability answer and was soon forced out of the restaurant by the guy who said no available seating!! even though there was many seats available inside Unprofessional behaviour to say the least and extremely disrespectful attitude, I hope they learn customer service as they will soon need it Unfortunately for this mediocre Italian restaurant, we found a much more pleasant and welcoming , friendly restaurant which treated us well and made us feel like we were royalty, this restaurant was called “CAFE ITALIA “AMAZING PEOPLE SERVICE” and wonderful food go try there instead So it is Safe to say we will never go to Trattoria ever again and if you are wise neither would you I had to give one star only because I couldn’t give a zero!!

Decided to try here as I haven't been to an Italian style restaurant in a long time. Got seated quick as there wasn't many customers at that time eating there and had our order taken as soon as we had finished choosing. Food tasted very home made which is always a bonus and was amazing. I had the tagliatelle and meatballs and my friend has the lasagne. My friend said it was too cheesy for him but admitted that as personal preference and not a complaint. My friend dropped his knife as he was eating by accident which was quickly replaced without asking by a member of staff which is good service in my opinion as they try to make your dining experience great. When it came to paying, my friend and I preferred to pay for the food and drinks we each ordered but rather than having time to work it out, the woman taking the payment was replaced by a man who was more in a rush to take the payment no matter how we worked it out which didnt sit too well for us but nevermind. We ended up splitting the bill and figuring out how much we owed each other later. I would have marked it down for service for that reason but with the quick seating, fast order taking and the knife replacement, I decided not to mark this down. As a heads up, it's either pay in full or pay half each and work it out yourself later so you don't get impatiently rushed to pay. I think it would be better for the restaurant to make it clear before ordering that they prefer either someone pays the full amount or split the total cost between the amount of people at the table to save the confusion for the staff and the customer.

My boyfriend and I ordered a quatro formaggi pizza and a cannelloni with spinach+ricotta filling. The food here is aggressively average for the price. In my case, I found some parts of the cannelloni taste a little off as well. Also, their choice of music does not help.

Walked into Trattoria last week and booked a table for two for tonight (29th July for 7pm). The lady wrote on their card the details and gave it to me. Walked in tonight for our reservation and the very rude man said we did not have a booking, he asked if we had the right name, time, restaurant. I told him about when we booked and described who we booked with, he said we were wrong. We left. We won’t be returning. We went to Rastellis, local recommended it and it was amazing.

Had a lovely dinner at Trattoria after a long cycling ride. The quality of food was superb and the amount served was quite generous. The staff is friendly, attentive and clearly cares about customers. Highly recommend!

Very bad service and unprofessional staff

After a long day travelling to the area we decided to find a dog friendly place to eat. This restaurant turned out to be a perfect choice. Dog friendly, great customer service, superb food.

Great tasting food, had the bruschetta and chefs special pizza. Both were fantastic and portion sizes were generous. Prices were good compared with other restaurants near by and the outdoor seating atmosphere was great with the view of the main road cutting through the town. Staff were lovely and tended to our table well. Would I eat here again? Yes

Lovely food, polite staff, nice view into the main street. We came here twice during our stay. We did only have a magaritta pizza but it was a really good pizza.

I went to the restaurant for the first time. I was impressed with the quality of the food and drinks. I had a enjoyable meal. I found the staff friendly and helpful. I did notice that people sitting outside sometimes found it difficult to get the attention of the staff who were very busy.

£18 for microwaved food. Pasta, prawns and cherry tomatoes were lukewarm and did not taste fresh - should’ve been a giveaway when it came so quickly. Waste of money and the atmosphere and presentation was like no one could be bothered.

We ate at this restaurant because we had visited before but unfortunately the food was not as good. One meal we ordered was a Spaghetti Bolognaise which was not very warm when it arrived at our table. The meal was sent back to the kitchen & the meal returned hotter. The staff never enquired if we had enjoyed our meal. Very disappointed

The Trattoria pizza was exceptional.

Piping hot delicious food, arrived really fast to the table and the service from the staff was brilliant. People definitely need to try this place out. Also, you have so many food options, me and my partner couldn't decide!
