Ordered loaded chips , chips taken out of fryer, boxed & placed in warmer, then waited 25min for toppings to be prepared . Meaning chips only luke warm, tasty after microwave warm-up

Friendly, great service and gigantic portions...Will return regularly!

We visited after hearing rumours about vegan fish and chips... The rumours were true and we certainly weren't disappointed! Having moved recently, this place is one of the only reasons we'll be back to visit 👍

So I phoned at 5.30 to place my order the woman answered and told me my food would be delivered by 6 half 6 came so I rang up they said the driver was in traffic 7pm came driver arrived I asked him was he in traffic the response I had was I dont know.... well clearly he did... the chips were cold so I rang the chippy and I think I spoke to the boss lady and she said she would give me a full refund of £26 considering I gave them extra as i didn't have the correct change... the food is lovely but not when it's cold so if they can sort there staff I'm sure in the future they should have no problems.

We heard about Traditional Fish & Chips at No. 8 via Facebook, saw they have an extensive gluten free vegan menu and although it is 200miles away from home we decided a day out was in order. We had lunch and dinner in the restaurant, the owner knew we were coming as we had booked a table, she was so welcoming and friendly. We tried a little bit of everything over our two meals and I can honestly say they were the best chippy meals we have ever had. The portions were extremely generous, hot, arrived quickly and were great value for money. The vegan fish was amazing, the burgers were great, the chips were fresh and not greasy. The vegan milkshakes use fresh fruit and the kids loved them. And let’s talk about dessert! The selection was great and the gin & tonic sorbet was to die for. We are already planning a mini break in Whitland just so we can have another meal at Traditional No.8.If you are gluten free, this coeliac run fish and chip shop is worth a visit, and if you are vegan she has 11 options!!

A "large" portion of chips, curry sauce and 2 portions of cod bites was £11.50!!The "large" chips was far smaller than a regular portion from all other chippies locally. It was to split between 2 people,but we ended up with essentially a saucer sized portion of chips each. God only knows what a "standard" portion would be!? The cod bites are not the expected size, they are the size of chicken nuggets. The curry sauce was runny and bog standard.There was nothing special or superior about the food to warrant the price, and the portions were incredibly small. Will not be buying from there again.

My whole experience from start to finish was professional and excellent. Our order couldn't be completed as the sausage contained gluten but they replaced it with batter burgers! My new favourite thing in batter. The delivery was on time, the food piping hot and delicious. Highly recommend will definitely order again. P.SMy wife says they put Morgan's to shame.

We had a family take away from here over the weekend after a friend recommended it. It's so hard to even find chips usually that haven't been cooked in beef dripping or shared a fryer with fish/meat. Not only does this place have separate fryers but a massive vegan menu as well! We tried the battered sausages, nuggets, burger, breaded mushrooms and vegetable fritters. All fab. Looking forward to getting another meal soon! Feel very lucky to have it so nearby - well done to everyone there for offering such an inclusive menu and foods suitable for vegans and meat eaters alike (with loads of gluten free options too!)

This place is truly amazing for us vegans. We had sausage in batter and chips from a huge selection of vegan stuff. The chips were the best we've had in a long time and the battered sausage was really really good. You can sit in too so all vegans please support this amazing chip shop. Monique is so so lovely too. We went tonight to this amazing chippy. I cannot rate it highly enough. We were 4 vegans with gluten issues and we were catered for so well. There were so many options we couldn't believe it! We had foods like battered sausages, battered burger with cheese, nuggets and chips with the best curry sauce I have ever had. All vegan, all gluten free! So crispy!! And they are very careful about cross contamination so coeliacs need not worry. The owner was so kind and couldn't do enough for us. It was lovely to eat all of our old favourites but in a safe and cruelty free way. Thank you.

So is this place still open ? Been several times now after 4pm and each time it's been closed. Have had to drive to st clears and use there chippy most nights over the last few weeks . Even today at almost 5pm it's closed and clearly says on window open at 4pm . Another trip to st clears it is

All orders are cooked fresh, so not the quickest service, but good quality food and reasonable portion sizes is worth the wasit.

Always great food, freshly cooked and tasty. Homemade dishes make this chippy a bit different - chilli, curry and cheesecake! Pasties, corned beef rissoles and quiche are also available (but snap them up quick they sell out early) along with the usual pies, fish sausages etc. They offer coley as well as cod which I discovered is absolutely delicious. We eat here far too often nowadays, but honestly, the food is always great and there are often 'specials' - tonight's was battered black pudding and it was fab! I could have on for ages about how good this place is but just try it for yourself!

We always come here for a stop off no matter what. I greatly recommend Traditional Fish and Chips No8! The chips are amazing and the sausages are salty and tasty. There is also a loyalty card where you can get something free! Amazing as they have only been open for like 8 months! :)

Lovely service and spacious seating area. Deliveries and ordering available. Our food was cooked from scratch and although there was a wait - obvious - it was worth it for the hot, crispy, fresh and delicious results. Lots of SFV choice - dotted throughout the menu - or you can ask for help. Chips only fryer and no mixing of other oils, very reassuring. Gluten-free fryer and excellent understanding of needs.We had Vegetable Fritters (NOT teeny scallops: you have *huge* and *plentiful* chunks of courgette, cauliflower and broccoli in freshly dipped vegan batter, fried to a crisp) and Ch1ck'n Nuggets, tons of chips and plentiful tomato and homemade Veganaise Tartar sauces. Nice selection of drinks.Discount for NHS too!

Probably the best fish and chip shop in west wales,the staff go out of there way to help you, i would recommend the coley it was the best fish i have ever tasted,they also do gluten free which is just as tasty,so if you are anywhere near Whitland and feeling hungry you will not find a better place to eat in or take away,i guarentee once you have tasted there food you will be back

First twenty four hours they opened it was excellent tho it can vary depending whose cooking. But clean well packaged if a little expensive given the quality. Better since they’ve put in table and chairs. Their logo fresh food cooked as fast as we can not fast food is about right. Had fish,pies,gravy,curry and chips on various visits. The chicken looks nice too.

Newly opened and going from strength to strength! Excellent service, everything cooked fresh to your order. Veggie options and Gluten Free options. The Gluten Free Fish n Chips was simply the best we have ever had! Highly recommended you won't be disappointed!
