Tir-y-dail Chinese takeaway in Carmarthenshire

Food is no different to any other, they need to invest in a radio or something along those lines to stop the waiting area from feeling like a morgue. A little bit of enthusiasm from front of house wouldn't go to waste 😁 The one ⭐ for food rating is generous as my order wasn't actually cooked after a wait of 1.5 hours of waiting

Food is amazing but the service is dreadful. Don’t just go there and expect to order you have to give them advance notice or order by phone. But when you come to collect it still will not be ready. We ordered at 5.15 in shop they told us will be ready at 6.15 but when we got there not ready and told should have called to order???????

First time to have a takeawy from there. Every single dish was delicious. We had S&S chicken balls and HK style, chicken Chow mein, Crispy chilli beef, Salt&Chilli Garlic king prawns, egg fried rice, and vegetable fried rice... Can't remember last time we had a takeaway where every dish was great... I guess we finally found our favourite Chinese takeaway

Went to Tirydail chinese takeaway on a Saturday night in September 2023 to be told they had run out of chicken curry!! This was 7.45pm. Tried ringing for over 30mins this evening,no answer. I give up and go down to be told they run out of chips! What sort of takeaway is this?? The place could be a gold mine

Find the food better than others around but just traveled 4miles to find that it is closed when it clearer states that it's closed Monday an Tuesday but open Wednesday which is bit sad to say to travel that distance passing other chineses is frustrating.

I ordered a rice dish that was meant to be with chicken, pork and prawns. However I must have got it wrong and ordered a veg dish instead. At one point I thought I had found some meat but was sadly mistaken. Plenty of peas though. I didn't realise Vesta had set up in Tumble, again misinformed. Suffice to say another local takeaway off the list for a next time visit. Think I'll get the bread out and make some toast., Maybe add some ham and replace the missing meat.

Tried it last month for the first time. It was a really good Chinese takeaway and we've been back since. Only slight negative is that they don't do Crispy Aromatic Duck!

The Chinese meal we collect on Saturday was like DOG FOOD Totally disgusted and waste of time and money will never use again. 👎👎👎🤬👎👎👎Avoid don't waste your money...

If you want to spend your entire evening waiting for a takeaway, this is the place to go. Upon phoning, I was told that the food would be ready in 2 hours. Arriving on time, I was made to wait a further 45 minutes (this is not the first time for this to have happened to myself and others). It’s great to see the business doing well but the lack of respect and consideration to customers is unacceptable.

Very poor service, called to order, told it would be over an hour, when we went collect told they were running 20 minuets late. No way it takes nearly hour and half to cook a simple meal, plenty of other Chinese takeaways to use.

Would highly recommend. The crispy beef, sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style and chicken with ginger and spring onion was amazing!

Ordered takeaway at 6.30 on saturday evening, to be told that collection would be ready at 8pm. When we arrived at the takeaway it took another 45 minutes wait for our food. The chips were disgusting, the meat in the meals dry and the pancake rolls tasteless.

Just been for take away. Nothing we wanted was available. No curry, no chips. Very unhelpful. Shame as we would have been placing an order for 8 of us

Our favourite Chinese, we've had consistently good food here. Always get plenty for your money. Particularly recommend the set meals, but we've found that the set meal for 2 is enough for 3 and the meal for 4 could probably comfortably serve 6! We've only ever collected but have never had to wait too long. Wait is longer on Friday and Saturday night as it does get busy so recommend ordering early then. Worth knowing that they only take cash.

This is my partners favourite Chinese takeaway, you know how it is, you grow very fond of your own local restaurants, so nothing else really comes close, however, I am pleased to say, that having eaten from Tirydail a few times now, the food is really growing on me, especially surprising are the chips, the best I've ever eaten from a Chinese,

The food here is always 5 star. Best Chinese takeaway in the area. Only downside is there can be a bit of a wait... But it's worth it all day long.

My fave Chinese, love the curry!

We’ve been here 4 times in the last 6 months and the food is really inconsistent. The first visit gave us dry chicken balls and bad chips but everything else was nice, second visit the pork was fatty, third visit everything spot on but this last visit was really disappointing. Tried for 30 mins to get through from 5pm on the phone to be told no food collection until 7pm, ok a bit late but fine. My husband arrived only to be kept waiting another 40mins for the food. ‘There’ll be a small wait sorry’ he was told when he arrived and paid. It’s a shame they just don’t tell you that they can’t fulfill the order until later so you can just go elsewhere. We expected the food to be perfect considering the wait but the chips were rock hard and the beef was super chewy and some of it inedible. Such a shame. We won’t visit again simply because being this inconsistent is too disappointing!

This place is great! Busy, and popular for a reason. Really good food, fresh and tasty. We had beef in black bean sauce, sweet & sour, lemon chicken , crispy beef and chow mein. Everything was delicious, and not at all gloopy and generic/bland like some places can be. Even the chips were great! Whether it’s Chinese you want, or a chip supper, you won’t be disappointed here.

Tirydail takeaway has been THE greatest chippy/ chinese in Ammanfords history. For decades I've been a regular on the weekends and although it's now changed hands to the younger generation they still uphold the quality of the old hands from " back in the day". It's not the fanciest, most fashionable or bling (it's a thing the kids say that means good apparently) place in the world but the food is sublime! It doesn't cost the earth either and the portions are really good, I'm no fatty and find a portion between two is just enough but even the biggest eaters will struggle a full dish and rice. I'd make a comparison to some other takeaway with regards to price or taste but quite frankly if you're thinking of going elsewhere then you have no taste buds, just head out the garden and chew on some bushes or something. If you like your face and making it smile then tirydail is the place to go. I've literally just finished a plate of chilli chicken, rice and chips while writing this and I'm so happy I don't care how sticky my phone screen is!! EMERGENCY EDIT! I forgot to mention the curry sauce, it's like liquid heaven!

3rd week in a row not able to get a meal at a decent time Despite trying for over 40 minutes to get through from 1700 only to be told no food would be ready for over 2 hours. Really disappointed as the food is really good

Been calling into this fabulous gem of a Chinese plus fish and chips takeaway for the best part of 20 years. Amazing food, good portion size, reasonably priced delicious food. Expect to wait between 30-40 mins as it's so popular. Staff are always courteous,love it.

The food is OK, but be prepared for a long wait on a Saturday evening. If you phone in your order beforehand, the estimated time for pick up tends to be very optimistic!

Hands down the best Chinese restaurant in ammanford! There may be a little bit of a wait before your food comes but perfection takes time! And the staff inside are lovely people. Truly one of the diamonds of ammanford!

Recently started using this take away again , its fab, lovely and fresh and tasty, allways really busy so i find its best to ring thro, and believe me i am such a fussy person to please being a chef myself, fab work guys cant wait to have one tonight

My friend ordered food we went to pick up and wasn't ready they then told us fifteen minutes we went back after fifteen minutes only to wait another fifteen minutes for food causing the food I ordered elsewhere to go cold while waiting for my friends order not happy

Always a nice meal here, it's takeaway only but very very popular. The options on the menu are varied and very nice, the only downside for me is that the curry is sweet, which i personally don't like. They also serve Fish and Chips which I'm told is also very nice.

Always get a nice meal here food is very good it is always busy only draw back is it is sometimes very hard to park
