The Chippy in Carmarthenshire

Good sized portions, unfortunately the only thing available gluten free was chips and mushy peas. Due to it being the start of the season even the offerings on the main menu were somewhat limited for my partner, but chips were hot and tasty, so all good.

Beef and onion & chicken and mushroom pies and shared a portion of chips and gravy. All bloody delicious and a very lovely owner. We'll definitely be back when in this area again. Fantastic chips BTW......

I have eaten cod and chips all over this world. This shop serves the best. Manan is an ace genius.

Gluten free chip's were lush. Definitely on my list for next year's holiday in pendine sands. Looking forward to my next vist. Tx

Must be due to being out of season, but there wasn't much on display other than chips, or sausage

The fish and chips we had was the best we have ever had. Cooked to order which meant you had to wait a few minutes but worth it. Chips are top class. Service very welcoming

There's 2 fish and chip shops in Pendine. This one is the one attached to the local convenience store. Ordered 2 x cod, one small chips and one large chips and that came in at just under £20. It's cash only, so be warned. The staff were very nice and the food was lovely, so all-in-all, well worth it.

I came down for a little get away in Pendine when I stumbled across this little fish shop. And I must say it definitely added to my experince . The food was amazing and I was served by a lovely woman called Hannah who kept me company while I waited for my food overall great food and great customer service I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting.

Enjoyed my fish and chips at the chippy jn Pendine. The best thing about it though was the service, which does makes a nice change for a chip shop . I was asked about my day and actually listened to, my order was correct and I really appreciated the enthusiasm of the server especially. Thank you Imo. 😁

Walked in the wind rain from the far side of Dukes Meadow on the Parkdean night to get some Saturday night chips for my birthday....... And it was closed. Would give a 0 star if I could. Who closes a chippy on a Saturday night.

I had cod and chips. Huge piece of fish freshly cooked. Husband had battered sausage, again huge. Massive portions of chips. Couldn't finish them. Lovely light batter. Hubby only had to wait 10 mins for them to cook and we ate back in the caravan. Food was still hot. The price was good and the quality was excellent. I would recommend this chippy especially if you are staying on the Parkdean resort.

Meh, it was ok, the other bad reviews say they were far too greasy, but our chips were super dry and you could not really eat them without a pint of water next to you, but the other stuff we had was ok and cooked well, so not a bad place, just not great either, we will try it again in the future tho see if its changed.

Been waiting in the rain for 20mins because the fish I ordere was given to a local who turned up 10 mins after us, while my son and partner's freshly cooked sausage in batter sat for 10mins in the heater... And then they ran out of chips. Not good service. Might have been worth it if the food was anything above ok. Sadly, not even close. The chewy batter on the sausages were inedible and discarded after one bite. So had sausages at the price of battered ones. Fish could have easily swam off back to the ocean in the grease it was sat in. Never thought I'd say this, but I wish the parkdean chippy were open.

Poor service, far too much grease, batter was terrible and chips undercooked. Over priced considering that kind of quality. Won't be eating fish and chips for a while.

Not even a 1! Definitely wont be coming here again the womans attitude was appalling! Absolutely disgusting and plus gave me the wrong order....which she insisted I asked for!! Awful

Awful under cooked chips, dry rissoles. Not worth the money. All chips were stuck to each other and the paper. Would have returned them if I didn't drive from Laugharne. Not worth it.

I had not read previous reviews before I visited when I stayed at Parkdean. Yes only one person in the shop at a time then wait outside and yes cash only. However we are in a time of Covid and the shop is quite a small enclosed space. I found the lady serving friendly. The food took about 10 minutes to be prepared. When we ate the cod and chips back at the caravan it was still hot, a generous portion and well cooked.

My dad refused service due to him being exempt from wearing a face mask. He didn’t have a lanyard and they questioned and discriminated him, not allowing him to purchase food which is breaching the equality act, they should know the governments rules and regulations on this matter. Food was small portions, not the best and expensive for the portions. Wouldn’t bother

shocking place, one person in at a time due to covid, but tis cash only ? No receipt, no professionalism. You couldn't make this nonsense up! So you'd think with everyone standing outside having to wait, someone would have the brains to put the menu and prices on the window instead of inside only, so people could get an idea before they go in. Nope. The woman inside was rude, shouting, very aggressive and hassling customers. When we were waiting we overheard how she overcharged one lad by £15. Apparently said she'd charged an extra fish, that's not £15. And then after all that, the food was tasteless.

Absolutely the worst chip shop we have ever visited. The sausage in batter had clearly been re-cooked numerous times it was black. We couldn't even bite it.The batter wasnt properly stuck to it and it was so greasy. So many bad chips we actually threw it away. Waste of money. Staff were also very rude. Making you go in 1 by 1 which is fair, but clearly letting a local builder they obviously knew in without even a mask on ! Rules should be followed by everybody. If you are on holiday down this way please dont waste your money in this chip shop. There is another further down which is much better.

My husband, daughter and I found The chippy whilst staying at Pendine Sands. Tasty, piping hot food! Fab fish! And the pea fritters are a must! Thank you to Gail, Kaz & Staff for lovely food, friendly service. 💫💫💫💫

Boyfriend went to get food for myself and our son. Absolutely shocking attitude from the lady serving. Got told "I'm not your secretary" whilst listing what he wanted. Food wasn't even worth the hassle and belittling behaviour. Never again.

This chippy needs to get with the time. Cash only! With Covid19 I think it’s essential now to take cards. I don’t carry any cash since the pandemic as I think it’s Cleaner and safer.

What can I say but lovely chip shop chips. Not a long wait and everything wrapped individually so no soggy batter.

Awful terribly awful worst chips ever had can't say tasted as there was none batter greasy they use frozen chips expensive at 7.99 for fish I travel the country for good fish and chips if this was the first I would not bother again had to give 1 circle to send review otherwise no circle

I was on holiday with my 3 young children. Agreed, social distancing rules apply to groups but I was refused to be served because I wouldn't leave my 11, 7 & 6 year old outside of the chip shop. Busy time, lots of people about about and these days you just never know.

Food was lovely, but the staffs attitude is completely sickening. Will never go there again. She was rude, and unhelpful. I don’t know whether it was because I’m not from around the area, but I think a little politeness goes a long way. Be cooking my own food from now on, or pay the extra to go local.

The food is alright - not the worst I’ve had. But the service is shocking. Rude to the young lad before before me, rude to me and rude to the person behind me - full house!!! Lucky for them they have a pretty captive holiday park audience as Pendine is miles from anywhere. In the real world this place wouldn’t last 5 minutes. There is another chippy in Pendine, I’ll head there next time.

The fish was ok but the chips were cooked in burnt oil and half of them were frozen in the middle. Inedible and gross

The chippy (on the shore side of the road.... not the one further along and on the holiday-park side) is AMAZING. They had no problem sorting our large order. All fresh hot and well packaged. Pleasant chat while waiting and very tasty when we ate it. Fantastic curry sauce and gravy (some places can get that so wrong but it’s fab here!). Can’t fault it. Portions are HUGE so you’d do well to share a large position of chips easily between 2 or even 3 ppl depending on how hungry you were!! Will definitely be back here. Highly recommend.

Nice chips freshly fried. Appears that they prepare small batches at a time so everything is fresh.Short wait for items to be cooked but preferable to food that's been kept warm for some time.All the usual fayre available.Check out the opening hours if possible.Early May was 4:30 - 7:30pm.CASH ONLY. Shop next door has a cash machine, if open and for a charge.

Went there twice while on holidayHad fish and chips the first time - chips lovely, too much batter on fish for our taste.Ordered Steak and kidney pie and chips the second time, they only had 1 steak and kidney so also had a steak pie. Again chips lovely, the steak and kidney, unusually was more kidney than steak, and seemed to be shortcrust pastry - I prefer puff pastry. My boyfriend enjoyed his steak pie just fine.It has been a while since I've had a Chippy takeway but seemed a bit pricey to me.Staff very friendly

Everyone we spoke to in Pendine said this was the best chippie so we gave it a go. The fish was cooked fresh but the batter was thick. The curry sauce was very good and the pie was the best we had for ages. Chi portion was good but chips were soggy and not very warm but the price was way overpriced. Be warned shuts 7.30 most days.

Excellent tasty chips always frying fresh chips so the two times we had chips was lovely and fresh. Wide choice of pies and fish and the usual suspects sausage rissole etc. Would definitely return.

The first night of our break we went to "Sunbeam" my advise DON'T it was awful, everything was frozen and greasy. Later in the week we used The Chippy oh my word what a difference. Proper chips and large piece of cod, all cooked while you wait, which wasn't long. It was nice to see staff laugh at (with) regulars and the concern they show when an elderly gentleman couldn't find his money. If you want very good fish and chips this is the place to go

When you have a holiday by the sea you have to have a fish and chip supper and you expect it to be good. The Chippy didn't disappoint and we had an excellent meal if anything a bit too big for us OAP,s. The added bonus was the bubbly CAZ, who served us and she knew exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned a previous poor review. Well done CAZ for sticking up for your Chippy. Good food and good service.

After asking locals in the areas where the chip shops were as we were on holiday I got told about this one opposite the caravan park, I had already been told the sunbeam chip shop was rubbish so I avoided that one, we were staying on the waterfront in Pendine in a holiday apartment so this was a fair walk, queues outside the door it was well packed so I thought ok it must be good, didnt want chips as i had them earlier in the day so opted for 3 burgers. Waited nearly 20 mins as it was very busy because it was closing in 15 mins, and then walked home with them. Well wiished id of saved my legs, they were bloody awful, didnt taste like theyd been cooked, just nuked in the microwave, the cheese hadnt even been melted it was a cold slice on top of a lukewarm burger.

Called in May bank holiday Monday,had a portion of fishbites (6) and a large chips,all food was cooked to order and fresh..crispy fish and lovely chips,plenty for 2 people with leftovers..happy friendly staff.best chippy around.

All food is cooked fresh to order, so make sure you order correctly 1st time! Very reasonably price and really tasty big portions. Loved it!

Great chips, freshly cooked, massive portions , I loved the rissoles they are spot on. Great location with parking outside and staff were friendly with a little bit of banter will def be back.

The Chippy is a take away Fish and Chip shop with good parking. It is situated on the left. opposite the caravan park, just befor the entrance to the beach parking. We tried both fish and pies!! Both were delicious. The cod was beautifully cooked and a very large size,. The chips were the same. Caz, with a curly 'C' pointed out the Steak and Steak and Kidney pies were supplied by Phillip Hughes of St Clears. They were the best pies we have ever tasted. I would highly recommend The Chippy!

Probably the best chippy in the area, not to be confused with the caravan sites's chippy as most reviews are, we don't serve chips in polystyrene. We use Fresh real potatoes not frozen mush, our fish is cooked to order to maintain freshness,we inform you about this on ordering however we do take telephone orders, so if you are in a hurry, get yourself organised and call us!

The Chippy at Pendine is a very friendly establishment. The staff are very helpful, but the most important thing is the quality of the food. The fish is a good sized portion and cooked with a light crispy batter. There is also a very varied menu to cater for all the family and is reasonably priced. A short wait for your food at busy periods but is it well worth it.

It's what it says on the tin. Good stuff. Chips sometimes a little soggy but probably just how they go during transit. Plenty of little crispy ones though. Fish is lovely.
