First time tried this place visiting from London, very busy, but great vibes, toastie was fab and coffees were banging! Will be back for sure!

I spend over 80 pounds on coffee a month In This place I have just bought a flat white which tasted like a Costa latte rubbish it also was boiling milk which burnt me, I complained to which the till riwedwith me about temperature then got a new one taste still the same but now virtually freezing I tried to call but they don't answer phone or take messages I will NEVER cross their threshold again especially as there are many shops to choose from disgusting service and attitude # and after over a month no reply from them they just take your money and don't care about your custom wether a regular or a visitor, worst coffee shop in Brighton and clearly the worst respect

Whenever I order coffee, not only it takes about 15-20 min to reach my table (which wouldn't be that much of a problem if it wasn't for the fact that I didn't have anyone in front of me ordering...) but by the time it does it, it's cold because once it has been made it's just left at the counter and there's no staff to bring to you in a timely manner. It has happened quite a few times lately.

Sat upstairs food good and lovely coffee.. But but bit slow on the delivery of service ...think bit forgotten when not downstairs but good otherwise

In a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, we enjoyed the best coffee of the few days I spent in London recently. I highly recommend!

Popped in for a vegan breakfast and a dirty chai. Both were lovely! Only negative is that the falafel weren't fresh, which meant they were dry and crumbly, and the guacamole was so cold it made my teeth hurt 😆. I would deffo go back and order the same again though!

Nice coffee and great selection of teas. Service is slow and atmosphere is utilitarian. Unfortunately, this is another cashless chain cafe in Brighton. I prefer to spend my money in places that aren't nudging us into a cashless dystopia, controlled by the banks. Cash is king.

Had 30 min before a dinner booking and popped in for a quick coffee. Left 30 min later with no drinks yet, paid £15 for the privilege of leaving empty handed. Saw multiple tables almost finish their food before drinks arrived. Very disappointing, cannot imagine a coffee taking longer than a cooked meal. Won't bother again. Table and floor was sticky.

Popped in for lunch to be fair it was quite busy, we ordered toasted sandwiches and hot drinks,the service was okay at ordering but had to ask for our drinks which had been forgotten, unfortunately when tables were cleaned all the debris which had been left was wiped onto the floor which wasn't very nice as there was quite a bit had to be careful where your feet were, also tables were very close so you felt hemmed in, probably won't go back shame.

Amazing food, value for money and very friendly

Nice place, however, the service is incredibly slow. Me and my girlfriend had to wait 25 mins for 2 toastiest to be warmed up and when we went downstairs to ask why it’s taking so long, they were just sitting on the side and which the two servers just handed to us without an apology and being incredibly rude, due to them sitting on the side they were cold when we started eating them. I would say Some of the worst customer service I have had in a while. If you’re wanting food, I would highly recommend going someplace else.

Waited 15 mins for coffee w 2 small children, asked for refund. No sign of apology, basically normal service for them & families clearly not welcome here.

Great coffee shop to escape the rain! Beautiful coffee and scrumptious food, had to resist taking cake to go. Lists of coffees and teas all made to your desires 😊 Lovely Christmas decorations to get you in the Christmas sprit! 🎄 2 floors of seating so plenty of room, and if your brave enough there is outside sitting but maybe not for December 😊

Fabulous service, fantastic coffee selection and great food. This place is buzzing and you may find at that there is a bit of a mission to find a seat but well worth the effort. Reasonable prices for this sort of quality too.

We like to keep coming back to this cafe. The coffee tastes lovely and they have some nice vegan pastries too.

We only had a cup of tea but we got loose leaf tea in a teapot each (3 cups), a warmed cup and plenty of milk.

Good coffee, but the veggie breakfast was average and more of a brunch snack. It was all served on one large piece of toast, apart from a pot of baked beans. I could easily have eaten two! Also, tables very close together. Too intimate for my liking.

Great coffee, but we had to wait over 40 minutes for our food so coffee was done by the time we got it!

Came here last week for a quick coffee and snack stop and was served by the most miserable girl ever!! Her impatient body language, facial expressions and tone of voice needs sorting out. I get people have off days but then they should not be front of house. Thankfully the waiter who bought out our order was friendly though. Also the birds flying on the tables outside eating the leftovers of previous customers was quite disgusting.

Now this is service! What a fox got to my mis-delivery before I did, these guys were super quick to roast some more and send it out with a smile! A hand written, personalised note within made the difference! Thank you guys!!

Lovely and cosy place. Made me a coffee and let me drink it inside even though I came in 15 mins before closing. Felt very welcome, and will be back when in Brighton again.

Had an hour to kill before meeting a friend, popped in here to avoid a heavy rain shower that was fast approaching! Friendly service, comfortable relaxed atmosphere, excellent choice of coffee and savoury and sweet snacks. Sat people watching on some stools at the front window, a power point was nearby which allowed me to charge my phone after a day of travelling and exploring around town.

Very disappointed with the breakfast and the tea and the customer service. Sausage wasn’t good quality, bacon very hard. Got tea which was luke warm, couldn’t drink it so asked if it could be changed. Brought back same pot with a bottle of warm water. Still couldn’t drink it. Didn’t even come to check if there was any improvement. Blanked by the same staff member on the way out. My fault I should’ve complained but didn’t. Lesson learned though.

A good variety of coffee and knowledgeable advice on which one would best suit your tastes. Friendly unhurried customer service (I had an extra shot of coffee supplied on the side as I was unsure of the strength of the coffee). Relaxed, warm, cosy environment well presented but not too fussy. Cake was a bit average but overall really nice coffee shop.

Amazing breakfasts and great value for your money.

This place has some smashing coffee, one of the best in Brighton. Sad to say the staff aren't a reflection of this. They don't seem to keen to see you (fair enough, as this place is usually busy), and will do their best to make you feel unwelcomed so you leave. Definitely, a hard place to relax and drink your coffee without the staff eyeing you to leave. Food is okay, for the prices I'd expect more but its a decent visit if your main goal is just to have a cup of coffee to go.

Loved coming here while visiting Brighton but not anymore after today. I have allergy to eggs and I wanted to swap it for salmon. They didn’t let me to pay the difference. I would have to pay for both even though eggs wouldn’t land on my plate. Very unusual. You also can’t pay with cash here.

It used to be my favourite place in Brighton but unfortunately it’s no longer true. They refuse to accept cash payments which is unacceptable. My girlfriend is allergic to eggs and wanted to swap it for salmon and pay the price difference but manager said that she has to pay for both if she want to order breakfast with no eggs which didn’t make any sense. Delicious food pleasant staff but horrible management.

Great place to grab a coffee with a friend, delicious cakes and lovely staff. I’ve been served by a girl with lots of tattoos a few times who is always really nice and remembers my coffee order.

Love the vegan options, staff are super duper attentive, loads of seating upstairs and downstairs. I have the pulled jackfruit and avocado sandwich! It was delicious. The place has a great buzz.

Great 'Elevenses', kids loved their cakes and juice, Ladies their Latte and croissants, and my tea and chicken sandwich (great)

£2.95 for a rubbish cup of coffee is a slap in the face. Staff look bored and not welcoming at all. Often struggle with my pram up the stairs and not once have staff offered to help me up or down. Safe to say, I’ve given this place enough chances. Won’t be wasting my maternity money on this place. Bring on Gail’s who are so welcoming

We visit at least a handful of times a month for lunch and coffees and have always had great service. The lady today definitely got my back up at the till today with dyed hair, two plats and a nose ring, I was told that they don’t really do substitutions for the breakfast and that they shouldn’t but she’ll put it through this this time because otherwise the kitchen sometimes get annoyed??! So sorry that my order is an annoyance. Her attitude was so negative and no smile or hello like we usually get. Both of our dishes were Luke warm, we didn’t say saying as we had already been waiting, we’re starving and felt bad for the other staff as they looked very stressed as it was busy. Edit: thank you for your response. We will be back in due course.

We go here for the grilled cheese sandwiches - best in town. They also usually have a good selection of cake and spaces to sit. There's a relaxing atmosphere and lots of space in the cafe off North Street. They have a number of ther branches, but this one osnour favourite.

Divine food .excellent service wonderful atmosphere. You must try the bacon sandwich adding a Cumberland sausage! When in Brighton it will be my choice of eating.

Astonishingly rude member of staff served us. No smiles just glared at us. My friend complained about a large chip in her cup and the same member of staff glared at her like it was her fault. Waited over 20 minutes for drinks. Coffee was nice but spoilt by the service.

It’s a great place to read and sip on some quality coffee. The seats by the windows upstairs is definitely my favorite spot, I wouldn’t recommend the couches, especially in the summer - it’s just way too hot in that corner.

I had the most beautiful black Pearl coffee here today and I was served by Abby and Zayb who were incredibly attentive, friendly and just absolutely superb!! Fantastic customer service which was both speedy and welcoming. Such an asset to the business and has restored my faith back into coffee house service, a breath of fresh air! Thank you :) one very happy customer here!

I'm not sure why this place is so popular. Early on a Sunday morning and the tables and milk bottles were filthy. There are far too many tables in a really small outside area which means you get bumped by someone every two minutes even when it's quiet. And, although the coffee was drinkable the cakes were dry and chemical tasting. It could have been just one bad day but it didn't fill me with confidence to go back.

We visited this cafe mid-morning on a Tuesday to find every single table upstairs covered in previous customers’ cutlery, cups and plates. Not a single table was clean! This remained the case for around 30 minutes as no-one came upstairs to clear the area. After moving some items from a table and giving it a brief clean ourselves, I went to order two lattes. The young girl who served me didn’t have a welcoming manner and seemed quite moody. I tried to download the loyalty app but the internet signal is so poor in store that you have to do this before you arrive. Having ordered two lattes, we then waited 20 minutes for it to be delivered. The coffee was great and maybe this is one of the reasons people come to his cafe. The cafe was busy but there is no excuse for not cleaning tables when customers want to sit down and enjoy a relaxing drink. Having also visited a Trading Post Cafe in Chichester in the same week, which was a wonderful experience, I can only assume that this cafe is not managed well.

Absolutely brilliant. Coffee is amazing and the breakfast was delicious. My highlight was the sausages and baked beans. Waiter was super friendly as well.

Nice place in the centre of Brighton, serving breakfast type dishes. Food was good and service OK. The food could have been a little hotter though. Great to be able to sit outside on a sunny day.

Schöner Pub mit schönem Außenbereich. Wenn viel los ist kommt der Service schon mal ins Stocken, aber alles in allem kein Grund zur Klage. Gute Getränkeauswahl, das Essen habe ich nicht probiert, sah aber okay aus. Ich habe mich hier wohl gefühlt.

The star goes to the coffee ☕️ but the customer service was horrible. I don't know how you would feel if you are making an order and the staff attends to you not cordially and on top of that brushing her teeth with her fingers in front of you…. Another important feedback is that they should teach some of their staff that when they serve breakfast or coffee they must first pick up the dirty dishes that were on the table. I understand that sometimes places are busy and they can't clean it immediately but the girl who served me coffee and breakfast literally put everything on the table without picking up any of the dirty cutlery that was already on the table before. As I said before, it is feedback, maybe they will take it or leave it, but I wanted to let you know my experience.

We all know the average cost of breakfast items, and what we got on our plates simply did not align with the premium we were asked to pay. As the cost of living continues to rise, it becomes increasingly challenging for individuals and families to allocate their hard-earned money wisely. High prices alone are not necessarily the issue; it's the lack of value for money that leaves customers feeling disenchanted. When customers can find equally satisfying alternatives at lower prices, it's no wonder that businesses struggle or that fast food joints enjoy more patronage. In an era where affordable dining options abound, it's crucial for restaurants to strike a balance between profitability and offering a compelling dining experience. Unfortunately, the restaurant in question seems to have lost sight of this delicate equilibrium. While it's reasonable for prices to increase over time, it's imperative for businesses to demonstrate that the quality, service, and overall experience justify the inflated costs. This regrettable turn of events has forced me to reconsider my loyalty as a customer. I would much rather enjoy a meal at home than pay exorbitant prices for an underwhelming dining experience. It's disheartening to witness a once-beloved establishment lose touch with its customers and fail to adapt to their changing needs and expectations. In conclusion, the rising prices at this restaurant, coupled with the disconnect between cost and quality, have regrettably driven me and my companions away. I sincerely hope that the management takes this feedback constructively and reevaluates their pricing strategy to ensure they remain competitive and regain the trust of their valued customers. Brighton's culinary scene is vibrant and diverse, offering a plethora of alternatives for diners seeking quality and value for money. While this particular restaurant may have lost us as patrons, I encourage others to explore the myriad options available and support establishments that prioritize customer satisfaction alongside fair pricing.

Very poor service. Tea was very weak, very few tea leaves in the pot. Cake very dry and stale. Looking round it appeared people only went in to charge phones a laptops

One of the best coffee shop in UK They have different kind of beans so you can choose your coffee with the bean 🫘 that you like. The packaging is perfect and the employee they are fast and helpful. Definitely I will come to this coffee shop when visit Brighton again.
