Traditional pub with Traditional features cosy good smoking area felt like you were inside

Popped in ordered Thai eats , turned up no rice , staff didn't mention main dished have NO RICE (Note to staff say these words) Asked twice for dinners plates , apparently staff are NOT allowed in kitchen! Joke . Fella drunk as a sack fell over and newly hit a curry , I helped him up, and asked staff to ring him a cab, which they did. Food spring rolls over priced at nearly 7🦑, curry watery , service dire , food not much better , finally got two small plates , what a circus . Will NOT be back. Try the MON cafe in Hove . Much better

Very cozy place and good atmosphere created by music and local people.

Love the crowd of this place, the atmosphere. They keep it simple: a traditional pub with low lights and a private setting. It's in a central area so it has a lot of people in and out but never full that it feels uncomfortable. The central bar makes ordering easy and more room to sit upstairs.

I don't really know why I have never been to this pub before, but it's FAB!! Great interior, good selection of beers and spirits, food looked really good too. A proper good pub, cosy and great vibe...great mix of clientele from young to old!!

Great Thai food, great selection of beers too

I ordered a pint of Cobra… I asked the bar staff if I could change it for something else’s as the beer tasted a little off, like the pipes were dirty. The refuse to swap the pint saying that they sell that beer all the time and no one else had said anything. I mean maybe if yer selling beer from a dirty pipe all the time, the punters might not know the difference. I bought a different beer and there was no issue. Clean yer pipes and stop selling yer punters short.

Nice atmosphere in pub but this is not thai food at all. No basic thai flavours on any of the 3 dishes ordered and person serving not even say hello.

They gave me a short measure on purpose. Wasn't like they were busy. 😕

I generally go to The Wick Inn for their Thai food which is absolutely delicious. Good range of beers, ales and drinks.

Just popped in on our way into town on a pub crawl, was heaving with everyone having a good tome, ended up staying for a few beers.

This is a pub to feast your eyes on not only the interior but also the local characters that frequent the bars at a lunch time - visiting not only for a well served drink by happy young staff but also in search of the wonderful Thai food that they provide. My Son and I have had many a happy hour spent at lunchtime sampling the different two course meal suggestions on their Thai Menu - The food is most reasonably priced and we have always enjoyed to see the way in which it is most beautifully presented - but our main delight has always been in the excellent food itself and we would suggest a trip to The Wick at Hove be a pleasant surprise to anyone liking good pub grub..........

Excellent pub with a relaxed vibe and very tasty Thai food. Being out of town means it’s less studenty than a lot of other pubs and it was easy to find a seat on a Friday evening.

Great Thai food, and a brilliant quiz on a Tuesday night, I'd go so far as to say the best in Brighton on that day. Pub atmosphere downstairs is also quite nice, always busy and good music playing.

I attended the pub quiz upstairs. Atmosphere was not bad, pretty good. The quiz starts at 8:30pm and lasts about a couple of hours. It’s quite fun.

Fab night celebrating my birthday. Great Thai food, good beer (and wine). Loved the music and was busy with people the whole night great place and a must visit when in Brighton.

Came for the quiz. The question master tried her best but was not the clearest speaker, and her voice whilst amplified was amplified too quietly. After each question, music was played. I can see that is done so that overhearing answers and discussion is made hard , but, it made it very difficult to ask for a question to be repeated, and after 40 questions it was very irritating. The questions were good though, and we won. But when you win you get the choice of three random prizes. 130 odd quid, a food voucher and another lesser prize. We won the food voucher. 15 quid. Felt slightly cheated since the value of the voucher was so miserably small. Won't hurry back. Too dark, too noisy. Younger people seemed to be having a good time though and the beer range looked good.

Popped in for a beer and decided to try the Thai food. A bottle of wine and a few starters later, very satisfied. Food is superb - we'll be back as soon as we can.

Great place for lunchtime Thai food and some good pints. There's also a speak easy style bar upstairs that serves cocktails which is an absolute treat.

We called in here twice before and after a concert at the cricket ground nearby. It was very lively inside and spilling out on the pavement but service was speedy enough and the beer was good. We got a table outside later on and enjoyed our pints there on a warm evening. Perfect.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Fancied an alternative to Neck Oil and was directed to 'Chieftan'. And what a good call it was. Plus the food smelt amazing, but unfortunately I was full of fry-up.

The Wick Inn is a cosy pub. There is a smoking area at the back. They have an upstairs area and a quiz night.

Fantastic pub with great atmosphere. The Thai food is the best in Brighton & Hove. Great for lunch or weekday evening. Sunday roast is good too. The staff are always friendly and the music is always good. Has to be one of the best pubs in town.

It wasn't wick at all...perfect for burning the candle at both ends.

We really liked this pub, staff were friendly, food was Thai a little bland but nice. Dog friendly. The only downside was the price of a pint of ale which was over £6.

Everything a great Victorian-era British pub should be. Great service and a good selection of beers.

I’ve been coming here for many years but will now avoid during evening hours. The music was deafening, making it nearly impossible to hold conversation. I asked the staff twice if they could reduce the volume but was told that they’d be chastised by the boss and forced to turn it back up. We were a large group and opted to leave. There were groups gathering outside, not to smoke/vape but to converse. Such a shame.

With a friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, this pub is nicely laid out and often buzzing on a weekend, but it's also a great option for a week night, especially if you can get a spot outside in the summer. There are a good selection of drinks and you can always find at least one or two dogs inside!

Normal PUB, sometimes the beer is good and cold, but most of the time the beer is warm, now the worst is that they allowed people to smoke vapes inside and the staff’s smoke it too which is unacceptable 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

Great pub, great atmosphere, pretty good music! We visited on a Saturday night and didn't eat but what we saw of others eating it looked pretty good and there were lots of clean plates!

So good that we came two days in a row! The food is delicious and very affordable between 12-3pm. Fantastic Thai food!

Was sad to see two guys with puppies in there last night using them for attention. The music was way too loud for them and they looked distressed. Sad to see the door men allowed this.

Great place for any evening, whether it is to have a drink and a catch up with a friend(s) or to also have some Thai Food. Staff always friendly and kin to help you choose what beer from the tap you should order if you are one of those people like me who wants to try something new but also not to be disappointed. Thai Food is presented beautifully and couldn't fault the taste. Only downside is how loud is the music. Have been going there a few times to catch up with friends on a weekday after work but struggled to follow conversations.

One real ale, very nice, other beers n lagers n ciders on tap. Plenty of seating including around the spacious centre bar. There are numerous TVs showing sporting events as well as nicely volumed music.

Jazz on Wednesday great. Beer prices very high. IPA Capital £5.75. Background music on ground floor too high ! have to raise voice to speak to bat staff.

I normally love this place, but last time I was there, it was freezing. I can only assume they're trying to save money on energy. I'm hoping this is temporary. Turn your heat up!
