Great city pub, food was very tasty, good selection of beers and ciders

Friendly staff bar was very busy but staff were great.

Estábamos asistiendo al concierto de Jane Macdonald en el utilita arena de la calle 31 de octubre. Entramos en este pub y nos recibieron sonrisas en todo el mundo del personal del bar, que nos puso a gusto. pedimos comida y estaba caliente, bien presentado y tan sabroso. (Recomiendo el tikka). El personal era tan atento, y tuve una buena charla con la señora que sirve la comida que era tan amable y con los pies en la tierra. Originario de pontefract. Fue genial ver los recuerdos de todos los actos que habían aparecido en la arena. El mejor toque fue una hora antes de que se abrieran las puertas en la arena interpretaron a Jane Macdonald, lo que realmente nos puso de ánimo... incluso volvimos después del espectáculo para una tapa nocturna. Gracias, Traders Tavern, por hacer de nuestra velada una gran noche.

Proper old pub, not many people in and not many smiles either. Drinks were as expected but you could tell the staff just wanted to go home especially when I asked for a drink at last orders.

A superb 'real' pub right in the heart of town. Great atmosphere and a good drinks selection. Nice friendly staff.

Hidden gem of a pub in the city centre, very friendly staff and a great pint of Guinness which is rare in Cardiff, possibly the best I've had so far!

Great little pub. Has a very old pub vibe. Nearby parking and opposite the utilita arena. Prices are very fair too.

Vi este pub recomendado en uno de los sitios de fans de Facebook de James. Íbamos a ir al concierto esa noche, así que fuimos a tomar unas copas de antemano. Qué bar fantástico. Gran ambiente con otros fans de James y un montón de oportunidad para cantar. Las bebidas eran un buen precio y un montón de personal por lo que la gente fue atendida rápidamente. Un buen borracho galés.

Popped in after a concert and stayed all evening. Bar staff great and brilliant atmosphere.

Fleeting visit, but good music, staff friendly and welcoming, reasonably priced food and drinks, we even went back for more! We will definitely return

What an amazing atmosphere from someone who is gay. I felt so comfortable as soon as I entered. We were both welcomed as a pair of normal people it was truly inspirational. I would recommend this place to anybody who would enjoy a good time 😘 xxx

Cute little pub in a handy location for waiting for someone at the dentist who's having a rotton ol time... 🤣 lovely and warm by the radiator, they do bar snacks but I didn't eat there, just had a shandy! Probably a good bar to go before a gig at CIA... lots of gig posters about

Great old style pub in Central Cardiff. Staff are extremely friendly. Great venue for pre drinks If you are going to Utilita Areana. Plenty of car parks near by.

Spent a couple of hours watching football, not busy but the ladies working were excellent, had a lovely lunch

A lovely pub close to the Utilita Arena, great atmosphere and played music of the artist we were going to see . Drinks are reasonably priced for town centre. We didn't have time for food so we can't comment on that, hopefully we can try it next time

Come from Aberystwyth to watch leona lewis. Found this little pub the tavern What a great atmosphere great people running it definitely come again .

Reasonable prices on the drinks and meals ,, not an overly extensive menu , but great quality and portions sizes generous. Warmest of welcomes, Through the day , great place to stop off and recharge.. chilled reggae and mellow tunes… if you are out of town ,, older traditional pub. With loads of character.

A great place to go pre gig, playing the music of the band that you're going to see and on other nights the choice of music doesn't disappoint either. Saying that, it's not too noisy in there, a great place to meet with friends and with fantastic, friendly service. The cooked breakfast is the best in Cardiff! £5.50 for everything including tea and coffee ready for you on the side of the bar. Unbeatable

Absolute gem! Found this place after the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 game after not bothering with the queues in the main streets. Pints were good, great crowd and plenty of table dancing.

Regular visitor here, with about 9 others, the last 12 months, mainly on a Monday after work about 5.30pm ish. Very reasonably priced food, always welcome here and very accommodating to people from all walks of life. And staff are very approachable. Thank you TRADERS TAVERN! :-) X

Nice to have a real, proper pub still surviving in Cardiff centre. Nice and clean, friendly (run by a brother and sister), drinks that won't break the bank, pop in for what pubs used to be like before Instagram made places decorate everything with pink neon signs.

I like this pub. It's clean, tidy and has some of the cheapest food and drink in town and the service is very good. If your having a night out at the Motorpoint Arena this pub is 2 minutes away.

I love The Traders. Go before and after every concert at the motorpoint, so at least once a month. The music is allways pumping the crowd is allways singing and happy. Ive never seen a hint of trouble in there. The drinks are very well priced and the staff serve you very fast in a busy pub from a tiny bar and they are allways nice to me. I often go to gigs alone and allways feel very comfortable in there. Dont expect a seat, do expect to join in and sing

This place is steeped with history, looks like a real locals pub that probably sadly, due to multistory developments around it relies mainly on trade from the arena. It's a real friendly pub, not pretending to be anything else other than a feed and water hole. Warm welcome from the landlady (wearing crocs! Superstar) friendly staff even with a room full of thirsty post gig goers. You can stick your glass and chrome bars in town up your jacksy. This is a real pub, part of our heritage and needs to remain that way. Use it or lose it.
