Great coffee and very nice place.

I frequent here regularly after work as I work nearby. Staff friendly, good spacing between seats, delicious coffee and the food is very decent. I now consider this my local.

Called in for a light breakfast before seeing a show at the Millennium, really good fresh food and excellent service and atmosphere

My dog Scooby was kind of a rescue and he was extremely nervous, but bribes with awesome staff and puppachinos totally transformed him. I am extremely appreciative times a million million.

We hired the venue for a family party. The staff were very friendly and helpful! The food was also nice. The only thing they are missing is a wider variety of alcoholic drinks.

I came to Cardiff for business and walked pass Academy. Got a pancake with fruits and yogurt, it was very delicious. They also played good music with George Michael and Lisa Loeb. 👍👍👍

Nice spot to grab breakfast or lunch on your way into Cardiff Bay. I stopped by around 9am on a weekday and it was very busy, which meant there was a slightly longer wait time than I anticipated. Staff is very friendly and working hard to meet the demand, but don't expect the speed that you would for takeaway at a Pret or Costa. The quality of the food makes up for the longer wait time in my opinion - and if you have time to sit in the atmosphere inside the cafe is lovely and colorful. You can expect to pay between £7-10 for a food item and coffee for breakfast - wouldn't say it's cheap but again, you are paying for quality. Overall a good spot located conveniently for commuters into the Bay. On a nice day sitting outside is a must.

Bon choix de café et de boisson. Pâtisserie maison, healthy et très bonne. Lieu reposant et bonne décoration. Personnel serviable.

The young women serving was excellent, polite, friendly, calm, and produced a good standard of food and drink. However she was on her own doing at least a two person job. This caused almost an hours wait on food. A steady flow of costumers meant she was having to try and prepare food inbetween making drinks (and there was a table of 12 wanting food!). She deserves a raise or bonus for keeping such a positive demeanour in a challenging situation. Management need to sort out this lack staffing issue and reward their hardworking staff for such a strong effort.

This cafe is very welcoming and friendly. Although it has a bar, as a Muslim I feel like I am welcome. I often come here to have a coffee and catch up on some uni work. The staff are lovely and the atmosphere is very calming.

Went in to get coffee and toast for my family and I, There were 2 members of staff on, there was no one waiting to be served except me, one girl was washing up made eye contact with me 3 times and didn't take my order, didn't even acknowledge that I was there. Other member of staff was cutting up sausages. After being ignored for 7 mins , I left and went to a lovely Coffee shop 2 mins away for my 4 coffees, 4x toast and cakes. I live locally to the area, and a lot of the locals who are of ethnic origin say they feel they are not welcomed there. So I wont be going back regardless.

A wonderful coffee shop suitable for a quick stop or a longer working/study session. Good food, great atmosphere, and accessible facilities, such as plugs etc. The staff are especially lovely, always ready to serve with a smile and a friendly chat. They are warm and engaging, and are the main reason I've become a regular. Academy has now become my go-to coffee shop!

Miserable lady member of staff served me. Two teacakes and two coffees for over £12. Teacakes undercooked with butter that seemed frozen and unspreadable. Will not return.

So up until this week we have supported local businesses and this.coffee shop , but unless the staff issue changes we won’t be back , please remember Cardiff bay is a small unit and news travels fast , The new staff at this coffee shop needs a lot to be desired ( long time waiting for service as the staff were chatting to friends )) , Both were rude kept us waiting while they chatted to there friends, Also no vegan meals ,,!!!

Fabulous coffee and delightful pastries. Will probably go back for an evening drink. Good seating inside and out.

I've been in 3 times for a takeaway Flat White. The atmosphere is always really pleasant. The staff are really engaged. They make sure to apologize to the queue for any wait times (which is never more than 2 minutes anyway).

Fantastic coffee shop/bar in a converted shipping container. Coffee is great and a wide selection of generously priced cocktails and beers. Lots of outdoor seating - the perfect spot to watch the Bay go about its business on a sunny afternoon.

Popped in here on the way to work, got a sausage ciabatta and a strawberry shake. Staff were friendly, welcoming. Food was good and service quick. It wasn't cheap, but the quality was good enough not to complain about.

Lovely Coffee shop with decent coffee and a selection of alcoholic drinks, including cocktails. It's always got a nice atmosphere with the bonus of lots of outdoor seating. Staff always friendly too One of my favourite places to visit in the bay

My partner and I are regulars to Academy Platform, there is no doubt that their coffee is the best you can get down Cardiff Bay. Not only this but the staff are friendly, polite and overall very welcoming with every visit. In particular Chloe, who without fail, greets us with a smile and bubbly conversation, she has even remembered our order down to the last crumb of the delicious vegan hot roll which is a MUST! Platform has a variety of sandwiches, alcoholic drinks, cakes and coffees to suit even the fussiest of eaters ( like me ) they have a warm and hard working environment, the café is always clean, tidy and well presented. This place has become our lunch break and weekend brunch spot and we couldn't recommend this place any more.

Lovely polite, hardworking staff. Coffee was hot and tasty, bacon roll was plentiful. The premises were extremely clean, as were the loos. Limited menu, but easy to find something to suit. Card only excepted

Worst bacon panini I ever had in my life! They don't even toast it? They heat the panini in the microwave so is all soggy and served on a dirty plate! Disgusting!!! Will never go back there, ever!!

We bought gingerbread lattes from here and were impressed by the quality of the coffee. We were served quickly from the hatch by a friendly member of staff.

This was our daily coffee stop as part of couples trip to Cardiff, the lads working 28th till the 30th of October were brilliant! The shirts of the staff said "work hard and be nice to people " and they were both!! The coffee was incredible, really well designed venue, good music, clean and tidy, what more can you want!

Thought I'd grab a bite to eat, so asked what they had... told its all on their app. I'm standing right there, I am not going to faff about with downloading an app to see what food they have when I'm standing their talking to 2 staff. Couldn't be bothered to tell me what was available, either lazy or decided I'm not fashionable enough for them. Used to go regularly but no more.

Queued for 20 minutes to get served, seemed like an awful lot of faffing. Completely agree, coffee and food is great but please, PLEASE hire more staff. And then train them. Properly.

Have been here a few times as it’s right opposite my husbands office. Really lovely little place and lovely staff. We’ve always had lunch as they’re paninis are great. They have gorgeous milkshakes too. There is plenty of space-we always have a pram with us and it’s lovely to sit outdoors during the warmer months too.

Perfectly placed if heading into the bay from town, lovely stopping point to have a hot drink with a snack or treat. The staff are very friendly and the coffee is great. Lots of alternative milk options. Plenty of nice vegan treats. Good drink options for later in the day too with some good beer choices.

I love it at Academy. Such a nice, chilled out atmosphere, it's perfect for a cup of coffee at lunch, or a few quiet drinks in the evening with friends. Even spent a bit of time here working, just to get out of the office a little.
