Town Cafe in Bolton

Met my wife in town on Sunday and needed lunch. Didn’t want a pie or pasty so I suggested here. They’re always friendly and the food is good. It makes good sense and we both enjoyed it.

The breakfast is great, the food is cooked perfectly, the service is amazing! Couldn’t fault this place for anything today! (31/10/23) so so lovely! Really happy we chose to come here and will definitely return

Not been here for a short while and while the staff seemed to have changed in that time, none of the standards had dropped. We both had sausage egg and bacon, one on bread, mine on a muffin. We also ordered a portion of fries. Excellent. Must go again soon.

Can't go wrong with this place, it doesn't pretend to be anything it’s not, just a good old-fashioned café. Friendly staff, extensive menu, freshly cooked quality food, clean and tidy.

I had full English, no beans or tomatoes which where on menu mushrooms instead with extra black pudding Mate had bacon cheese burger with chips Mine £7.70 His £7.70 Would you pay that

Not a posh place but the furniture is new and comfortable and the staff are friendly. On top of that, the food is very good.

It might not be a top end cafe but at least it's comfortable. Last time we went in there were the bench style seats which have made way for the more comfortable chairs and tables. The menu is simple but adequate and comes piping hot. What more do you want.

I am a regular customer however today you have lost me and I will be making sure not to recommend this place to anyone. Ordered from just eat poached eggs which were actually boiled and FRESH orange juice which was not fresh, it was from a bottle. I rated fairly however as these were the only things I was disappointed about but as a reply I got told off. Customer service is horrible therefore, even if food is usually good i won't be giving you my money anymore. Customers aren't always right but they do not lie for the sake of being mean. As a owner and not a high rated chef you should be humble enough to apologise if the food doesn't meet one's standard and make sure you do better next time. What you get instead is an arrogant reply and suggested to go somewhere else if not happy with their food. If you look at the reviews the owner replies disgusting and rude for no reasons. Keep going like this and you will be losing more customers.

This is a nice place for a quick breakfast or lunch. They have new tables and chairs set out as per covid. Friendly atmosphere good food,well worth a visit.

I went to the cafe on Wednesday for my lunch. I arrived and saw a hand full of seats left. I sat down near the door and looked at the menu. When I was ready to order I had to wait 10 minutes to order. The waitress was talking to people, sat down to have a chat, taking others order and was bouncing around the cafe, which is the job of a waitress, but having to wait this long was a joke. There was 2 waitresses on at the time but only one on the floor and the other at the cash register. Then when I finally ordered my food it took around 10 min to come to my table. I ordered the Breakfast one meal and it was great. The only downfall with it was the fact I only got 1 Sausage, which to me doesn't make sense to me but that's just my opinion. The food was well cooked and the was served hot, which for me was shocking. The prices are not the best for the area but other cafes are similar. The meal I got was only £5.00 and came with a cup of tea. The good thing is you eat before you pay. The atmosphere was great. The radio was playing, people were chatting and the cafe was almost at full capacity. There was also free wifi which meant I could work whilst waiting for my food and when I finished. Over all I would go again and would recommend going here to others.

Very cheap quality food and service. If you see the menu it's very cheap, I don't know how they make that cheap food for human or I'm sure everyone's frozen, the blond waitress is completely ignored us as we tried to order.

Went in here for dinner we sat down and waited for our order to be taken and waited 15/20 minutes when 2 other couples came in and the waiter was straight over to them. Felt like we was invisible so i then had to get their attention for my order to be taken. When our food finally arrived the waitress didnt make eye contact and she was miserable wasnt very welcoming at all. I had ordered a ham salad it was like a mountain of salad and just a few bits of ham. My daughter noticed that the glasses they brought for us to drink out of was smelly like they had not been washed properly. Definately would not recommend this place and will not be visiting here again.

Ordered a omelette initially arrived burnt so had to ask to have it replaced for non burnt option. Then I had a replacement but still wasn’t that great I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place

Friendly staff. Great for your breakfast or lunch. The sausages are excellent. Menu is customisable. Reasonably priced. Fast and fresh. Also offer healthy options such as omelette or jacket potatoes.

Love this place. Just moved back to Bolton after 15 years and this is my go to place for full English breakfast. Not tried other meals yet but I'm sure they will be just as good. Great staff as well

Like to pop in here for a quick lunch on Saturday. Offer a good range from snacks to full meals - fresh and tasty. Staff are always friendly and it is excellent value for money.

I had to find somewhere to eat with only a short amount of time available so I picked the Town Cafe in Bolton as a nearby eatery. The staff were very friendly and served me up one of the specials of the day which was lamb with roast potatoes. The plate of food arrived in a few minutes and the food was piping hot. The waitress kindly brought mint sauce to the table, a perfect accompaniment to the land. My meal came with peas, white cabbage, Yorkshire pudding and rich gravy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I went for breakfast at Town Cafe in Bolton, they have a good selection of breakfast options, including vegetarian options, plus a good lunch time menu too, although I did find it expensive for the quality and quantity & was set menus, with not many items on each of the options. I asked for a cup of black tea, but came with milk in it, and was brought to the table 15minutes before my meal arrived, which was cold then. I found the staff not very friendly, or made me feel welcomed. Town cafe is clean, although very basic & quite cold. I have been a few times, and I never felt comfortable or felt welcomed. A lot of people like this cafe, that's why I returned a few times so not judge on the first few visits, although will not be returning back.

Visited the town cafe on a Saturday afternoon whilst shopping. We always go to the same cafe in chorley too when we visit chorley so i know exactly what good food i will receive. I had a jacket potato cheese and tuna mayo with side salad and my mum & dad had liver & bacon with onions & mash, and wow it was delicious and they are not scrimpy with the portions sizes either. This is a fantastic little cafe which is reasonably priced. The staff are pleasant and helpful too. It is always very busy but what do you expect when the food is as good as it is ! I will be returning again for lunch when i next come to Bolton, 10/10.

Hemos estado aquí un par de veces para el desayuno. Siempre es caliente y muy agradable. No esperar mucho tiempo para tener nuestro orden tomadas o nuestra comida para ser servida. El personal es educado, pero no comprometerse mucho. Nuestra crítica sería que el té es caro para un tazón pequeño completo. Les iría mejor con acompañamiento ollas ofrece agua caliente.

Me encanta visitar las cafeterías cerca de la ciudad de Preston de bolton. Gestión turco y son tan acogedor y amable. La comida es deliciosa a un precio razonable.

El personal es muy amable. Precios muy buena comida a un precio razonable, se lo recomendaría a cualquiera. que está en Bolton que quiera un buen menú de comida bebidas.

Tenía un buen almuerzo con 2 colegas Bill y Sam. Tuve una salchicha en pan tostado en seco, muy sabroso y no en grasa. Yo tenía un café con leche, que es a menudo deficiente en el café, pero en realidad fue muy bueno. Sam tenía la opción saludable de la chaqueta y coalslaw patata. Su ensalada era fresco y bien presentado.

Come alot with family really nice food and I love the lattes. Only problem I have had was ordered a cheese burger for my 15 year old son and it was quite small. Made us laugh would of paid more for a bigger one. All in all very good.

This place is lovely as well as breakfast they do roast dinners jacket potatoes and sandwiches etc, it's quite a big place so usually no problem getting a table food is cooked to order in an open kitchen.

Was busy shopping on a Sunday lunch and tries this cafe was very quiet so got served straight away the staff member seemed a bit miserable who served us but the food was served very fast and was delicious and when we paid the server was friendly a different guy will come back again next time

Ate here thinking it would be a quick service cafe, however when we sat down it took the waitress approx 20 mins to take our order, she seemed to take a few orders at a time and then we all had our food at the same time..probably a good idea when busy but Ive never usually waited so long to have an order taken..the breakfast whn it arrived was lovely and the toast was even hot :) - coffee served with the breakfast was a milky coffee which was very nice also. Definatly would go again.

It is what it is! When I want a breakfast I want a good old fashioned greasy spoon and this is what is provided.Menu can be a little confusing but I'm used to it now, I've been going for about 10 years!Well priced food and a nice hearty portion.

I go to the town cafe every morning for. A coffee and breakfast good staff food made fresh from start to finish.have a good choice of Menu for every one. Fresh fish on Fridays and always made welcome by staff and the owner Adam .regulars go in every day. Close to marks and spencer ideal place to go to take a break between shopping.tables clean and floors room for a pram at the door.a warm welcome.

Wow i go every were for breakfast from cafes to pubs buger vans u name it I ate in it n town cafe was not one for me I needed about 5 extras just t get my breakfast so expensive greasy n staff was pervy small cramped tables

We have had breakfast in the Town Cafe plenty of times over the years.The food is always freshly prepared and arrives piping hot. The tables are always clean and the staff pleasant.A good selection of set breakfast options and omelettes are available.Good value, too.

Cannot fault this place for price and quality if food. Served quickly and ordered a soft drink and 2 hit chocolates with cream. Our main meals took around 10-15 mins to arrive, these consisted of sausage,egg and chips, suet pudding, chips, peas and gravy and chips,egg and 2 frankfurters. All came hot and plenty provided. No faults. Staff very friendly and efficient. This is a cafe so no thrills with design but food is of good quality and cheap.

I always go to Town Cafe when I visit my friend in Bolton from Aberdeen. I do enjoy the Liver, bacon and onion gravy. It only took 10 min for my meal to arrive. It was piping hot and perfectly cooked. My friend only had a sandwich today but on our last visit she had an omelet which was huge. The prices are very reasonable and the service is very professional. The staff are so friendly and keep the cafe very clean.

Went here with friends for breakfast, there was a good choice of breakfast to have, and all were reasonably priced. Waited a little while but not too bad. Food was good and none was left.
