Been a few times for a late coffee & drinks. The coffee is great and the cocktails are decent. Nice local place that’s open a little later than other places in the area.

Nice atmosphere, love the coffee and the pastries. Been a few times and it is one of my favorite cafés in London. Close to King's Cross and St. Pancras stations, highly recommend going if you are close by.

Stopped for a coffee and snack while waiting for train at St Pancras. Sat outside and ordered. The coffee was served in a paper cup and was undrinkable. Weak and insipid. The tea was served in a pot that was physically chipped in the spout and heavily stained with tannin from previous use. The ceramic cup and saucer were also stained and well past their sell-by date. The tea was sent back and the new pot was also deeply stained and aged. My companion refused to drink the tea and I left the coffee. We cut our losses and left. AVOID this place like the plague which - you could possibly catch from the crockery!

generally picky with my coffee but this was quickly prepared and excellent. my flat white was mellow, pretty sweet and slightly nutty.

If you say you're open to 6pm, serve coffee till 6pm. Walking in at 5.53 and no ot being served is just poor.

Spashiya gave us the best customer service. We got a cappuccino and oat latter with an almond croissant. She was bubbly explained the menu to us and made us feel very welcome. Thank you for the awesome customer experience and perfect coffees.

Small place, 1 toilet with outdoor seating. Expensive! Ordered a coffee and was surprised at the cost and the fact that they added a % for service on top.

Bacon and Egg Ciabata... very overdone bacon... seen better bacon coming out of the crem. Wouldn't even feed this to my dogs (AVOID)

The problem is, they don't take cash...when you want to get rid of it before the big return.

The Strawberry Cheesecake latte doesn't taste great - seemed like it was made with sour milk, like the cheese had gone off? Poor quality for such a high price. The serve and atmosphere seemed great however so it was upsetting that the drink wasn't so pleasant.

Horrendous service and coffee. I was hesitant to come into that place looking at the bad reviews. The only reason I went in was because I needed a place to charge my phone while waiting for some friends. Arrival was extremely unfriendly, staff couldn’t care less about those of us who pay their salaries… The place looks untidy and poorly looked after. I ordered a coffee at the counter and the guy at the counter (so unwelcoming!) told me to have a seat for table service, which I had to prompt. Waiters looked disorganised and unprofessional. The coffee was served by another unfriendly staff. And… the coffee was horrendous! Worst coffee I have had in London, terrible taste. That coffee left a horrendous aftertaste… puark!! If you want good coffee and good service, go elsewhere.

this place has so many negative reviews, which should be like a big red warning sign. i recently ordered their summer special drink, a strawberry matcha latte. i always buy from japanese specialist matcha places so i know how it should taste. this was the WORST one i’ve ever had. as soon as i started drinking, it was SO THICK, like a MILKSHAKE. this should have the consistency of an iced coffee. why is it so thick i can barely get it through the flimsy paper straw? i kept getting pieces of straight matcha powder in my mouth, which is like drinking a coffee and getting instant coffee granules in your mouth. they definitely didn’t use the correct tools to make it, which doesn’t really surprise me for a western place. it was so thick, extremely bitter, and practically undrinkable. i paid £4.90 for this abomination so i went home, and salvaged it with more water and sugar because i’m not throwing away a drink in this economy. not just the abysmal drink that ruined my mood, but my colleagues and i were waiting at the cafe for our manager, as it was heavily raining outside and we sat outside the cafe for shelter where there was PLENTY OF SPACE. i and one of my colleagues bought a drink to justify staying at the cafe for only around 10 or so minutes while we waited for the rain to calm down. despite this, one of the ladies working there (a white european blonde haired lady) felt so incredibly offended by our presence that she told us to move out of the way when two of our colleagues were standing next to our table having a chat so she could get to someone behind us. mind you, this is the OUTDOOR SEATING AREA. instead of taking 2 seconds to go around, she apparently is a BULLDOZER and needs a straight path to go anywhere. if we were truly blocking the area, she could politely ask us to be seated elsewhere but we weren’t, and she still rudely told us, “i can’t get past you to the other customer” with a weird judging look, like… do you really get paid enough to care THIS MUCH? rudeness aside, when we moved to another area to be seated, she would give us dirty looks whenever she walked past, EVEN THOUGH TWO OF US HAD DRINKS. and because our existence was so incredibly traumatising, she had to inform her colleague of our “awful behaviour”. even though we had already moved. why is a grown woman having a tantrum. it’s really not a big deal. as soon as our manager called us to meet him somewhere else, we left asap. so tldr; don’t come here because you’ll be a nuisance for existing and western places don’t know how to make eastern drinks. RUN AWAY!

Bought tortilla too good to go and went to ask the staff if vegan option available. 3 hours before my collection and staff told me yes yes we have vegan. I said ok I don't need to cancel it and they said I don't need to. Well when I came it was beef!! Not even trying to help you when I made sure to confirm in the restaurant I was collecting beforehand. Instead of an apology or trying to amend their mistake, they were busy packing food for themselves just before closure

Ordered a flat white, not sure what I got but it definitely was not a flat white. It was very weak coffee with way more liquid in my disposable cup than I normal get when I order flat whites. Also ordered a croissant which was stale.

We called in for a light brunch. Poached eggs in sourdough and Avocado on sourdough with a poached egg. Both served with a delicious red pesto which just lifted a simple plate of food. Coffee was good,,; americano and a flat white. Service wasn't the quickest but guy that served us was very polite and helpful. Shame the weather was cool as we sat outside but a great place to go whilst waiting for a train at KX or St Pancras. There is a service charge but it's optional and we were happy to pay it.

Shocking service. Very expensive. Waited an age on scrambled eggs on toast to get omelette on toast. Wrong pastries and cold coffee. Excuses when paying and asked them to remove 12.5% service charge. Very very disappointed 😞

Tasty brunch in small cafe in new build development. A bit expensive but normal for bougie central London. Needs to do better for wheelchair access. (Don't provide a wheelchair accessible toilet and then block the entrance so wheelchair users can't fit in...)

I have visited today in the evening for the dinner had a couple of drinks and food was amazing especially the king prawn's i loved it 😍 and also the atmosphere is really amazing . Chan is really awesome he is so cool i love his service👌🏻 . I will suggest my friends and family regarding this restaurant in future☺️

Quick, efficient service from Si. Not cheap but was a comfortable, convenient meeting spot close to Kings Cross with water garden and people watching to enjoy.

Went here with my friends - weird staff, very unwelcoming(quite rude tbh); thought the place was a cafe so when I went to go order at counter and was told it was table service, I asked one of the waitress if she could take our tables order - she made a very weird face to this request, all I asked her to do was her job... Food and drink were very mid. During the end, found hair in one of my friends food and complained to the staff and the response was giving "we don't do costumer service", they did not care. I'm guessing for whatever reason, the staffs thought we purposefully decided to put hair in our own food because afterwards, my friend noted that they walked past us to check the colour of our hair and we also heard them making comments about checking cctv, like...cmon? Despite this very unhygienic experience, my friend was still charged full price for her food! Anyways, if you want mid overpriced food, confusing system and gloomy, moody staff , then this is the place for you, if not, go somewhere else <3

Worst coffee ever, how dare you call this an americano 😱

Firstly, there is a service charge added to the bill, for almost non existent service. I ordered the devilled mushrooms and poached egg, with orange juice. The egg was overcooked, and the juice was very sweet. Almost like soap. After brunch, I bought a muffin to go. Again, it was overcooked and dry. So it seems the food in general is just bad. The service is minimal. I was just casually told to sit upstairs, and left waiting for 15 minutes on somebody to take my order. The only interaction I had with staff was the brief dismissal of "there's seats upstairs" and the taking of, and delivery of my order. An included service charge for this interaction is disgraceful. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

visited Notes Cafe and was blown away by the exceptional service from roberto, Anusha, and Sai. Roberto brews the best coffee I’ve ever tasted – rich and perfectly balanced. Anusha's prawns were succulent and bursting with flavor. Sai ensured everything was presented beautifully and provided top-notch service. This trio makes Notes Cafe a must-visit spot for coffee lovers. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love their dark chocolate and sea salt cookie. And I’ve tried a billion cookies nothing beats this one! So whenever I’m around Kings cross I make sure to drop by and empty the cookie jar 😅 Big shout to Yaya, Anushka and Joanna, such a sweet lot! xx

Love the staff here, always so lovely and happy to see you. Very welcoming and whilst it does get very busy for space they have, they make sure to accommodate you as best they can. The coffee is lovely, and I love coming here. Specific mentions are: Muni, Anusha, Yaya and the manager Giuseppe.

It was a chilly day and this place advertised a rum hot chocolate outside so we thought we would try it out. When we entered we thought it was a cafe where you order at the till so we waited at the till for a short while. Then a member of staff asked a group who came in after us if they would like a table, ignores us and asked two people directly in front of us if they would like a table. When we had been seated for a while, no one came by to take our order so I stared to make my way to the till. A staff saw me and made their way to our table. We ordered 2 rum hot chocolates, slice or carrot cake and a chocolate cookie which came to almost £30! I realised this was because on their display, the eat in prices are in a very small print compared to take out. Also, an OPTIONAL service charge was added to our bill but the person who took my payment failed to mention this. The food and drinks were definitely not worth the price. The cake was dry, cookie was salty and the rum hot chocolate tasted worse the more we drank it. Would not recommend. In my opinion it’s called notes because they take all your notes and you get nothing in return😐

Horrible organization! The coffee tasted the cleaning chemicals, absolutely disgusting, everyone doing everything, completely lost staff. As soon as you get in you can smell the toilet, which is not soo good for the size of the place. If there is a management on site, they aren’t doing their job! Brownies are really good ✔️

The waitresse was quite indifferent not nice and not smiling at all I felt very unconfortable, so I paid double for the service quite slowly and expensive.

I tried Notes again recently after a few years of avoiding it and it has not improved at all! The service is pretty awful (ignored, takes forever, SO expensive), the Welsh Rarebit was just quite sad and tasteless and the coffee is not good. Great location so decent atmosphere, but won't be back.

Service charge for what? We were seen to a table outside, waited 10 minutes to order, and another 15 minutes for our coffee to arrive after having to chase it up. When I asked why the bill didn't add up, he relied "well it is quite expensive here"... They refunded the service charge, but £16 for 2 lots of coffee and cake (it was pretty good, tbh) just can't be justified when there's so much choice around

Food took a long time to arrive. It was expensive and a 12.5% discretionary service charge was put on our bill with no prior notification - we wouldn't have paid it if we had been told. The place has ignored contact from us to discuss the issue further.

Dissapointed a little… Some of the things we ordered didn’t come and we were about to be charged for them if we didn’t double check/remind the waiters. The coffee tasted well but overall service was very poor, one of the coffee’s came in a plastic cup on a plate whilst others in proper glass cups. The experience was not worth the money we paid unfortunately.

Rude staff who pester you to order and lie about the closing time to get you to order. The hot drinks are generally served pretty cold to make you purchase more items of the menu. The staff members Surya and Anusha were very rude with us kept arguing with us about ordering and when we noted their names down to contact the manager who was not present on the day, they accused us of taking a picture of them and start becoming even rude. These 2 members of staff definitely need to be retrained on how to interact with customers. Coming from somebody who has worked in retail at some point in life, you learn that the customer is always right but clearly these 2 have never worked a day in their lives.

Quite expensive as you have to pay extra to eat in plus pay for service on top of that ( as it’s table service). Came to around £20 for 2 drinks and 2 cakes!

Popped in for a quick meal with the family before catching the train from Kings Cross. This area is lovely - we really enjoyed walking around. The location was very convenient and we got a really warm welcome when we went in. Very helpful behind the counter explaining our options and a super friendly guy on the till. Great food, great service. We ate in which was very nice - clean and great atmosphere. Thanks to all for making us so welcome especially Ash.

We just wanted to have some wine and nibbles and this place was spot on! Lovely welcome, a table was quickly found even though it was only an hour until closing. Staff were welcoming, food delicious and great service. Will definitely try again when in the area.

Got to the place 10 Minutes late and the reserved table was given to other group of people. They actually were having drinks, which means this table was occupied before 4pm. Very bad treatment, as the person told why what were you expecting if you are late. Literally rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend visiting!

Stopped by for coffee after the cinema. Very good coffee it was too. They also do food which looked very nice, but we were dining later so maybe next time. The place was buzzing and the staff kindly sat the 2 of us at a large booked table until another was cleared. Seeing busy they were the servers were very friendly and kind. We will be back soon.

Lovely staff but music wasn’t appropriate for the the time of day not relaxing (could just be personal preference). Experience didn’t feel that curated by the lack of communication upon entering to the wait team upstairs. I had my order taken twice then was asked to hurry essentially. All polite but it would be better if I had been informed about this upon entering. Great coffee non the less, but definitely not a relaxed vibe for me.

I had the poached eggs with sourdough, pesto and sun dried tomatoes. The eggs were perfect and runny. Pesto added a nice touch to the toast.

Called in here for a drink after work one evening. It was busy but the staff managed to find us a table. The food here was good, tapas style. Good place to visit if you want somewhere quiet to talk.

I had a coffee and a muffin. One of the best coffees I ever had. Unfortunately the staff were not attentive, I am not sure if it was their first day (most of them), they were constantly told what to do and where to go. The main issue for me was the attitude and comments from 2 members of staff in from of the customers - I thought that they were there as some kind of punishment. Remainder of the staff were really nice.

It’s weird. It’s different to a normal cafe because they do table service so you have to wait twice as long for a coffee. And the hot chocolate is a fancy blend one that tastes so far removed it wasn’t very nice

The best and biggest almond croissants in London! Fabulous, friendly service and a great spot, particularly when the weather is nice so you can sit outside. Inside is cosy too.

We had a brunch Saturday morning, food was super tasty, ambience very chill, and our waiter Giuseppi was super nice and funny!

Popped in for a coffee and ended up staying for some wine and food in the upstairs seating. Super friendly and helpful staff and the food was very tasty.

Utterly disappointed… was visiting this cafe to work and study since the British Library systems were down, but I was met with resentment, lack of customer service and after 1,5 hours I was told to leave as the cafe wanted to serve other guests, although I spent more than £10. The saying that a smile goes a long wait was probably never heard by the staff working here, and apart from relatively good coffee, I will try to forget this place as soon as I can. Thanks for making our day even worse than it was.

So dining in prices are more expensive than take away prices which is fine, but if you decide to dine in you are forcibly provided table service with a 12.5% service charge on top of the dining in prices?! LOL F OFF, never coming here again.

Duurde lang voordat de bediening kwam. Toen ze onze bestelling op had genomen kwam ze met verkeerde koffie's aan. Ze droeg ons glas voor een sapje onder haar arm, erg onfris, en het flesje zat met de vieze onderkant in het glas. De koffie was wel lekker.

Nobody took our order… a waiter guided us to a recently used table which was still dirty, told us there will be someone to clean the table and take our order. We waited almost half an hour and nobody came to clean our table or took our order. Place wasn’t even that crowded. We even went in and asked for a waiter , all they said was to wait even more. So after 30 minutes of wait , we took off. Poor service

Sitio pésimo, tardaron mucho en poner la bebida, ademas me incluyeron el 12,5% del service charge el qual no me avisaron que lo cobraban cuando me senté, si lo llego a saber ya me hubiera ido, quise pagar en efectivo y me dijeron que no podía porque que era cash less. Me sentí como si el cliente fueran ellos. Pase un mal rato. No se lo recomiendo a nadie.
