Standard Mexican food. Overpriced cocktails. Closed down now, sister branch 'Habernero' is open in Shepherds Bush.

No vuelva a ver si nuestras comidas estaban bien.

Good mexico food at a fair prices. The 3 little pigs are my favorite. There's a cozy bar downstairs - the margaritas are delicious. If summer make sure to grab a table outside. Good for both dine-in, take-away and delivery.

The bar downstairs is great and the atmosphere upstairs isn't bad either. Food delivers in taste, the staff sometimes deliver the food.... I like not being rushed but there's a point where it just becomes a joke and came pretty close.

My Mexican journey continues with a better than average experience tonight. Decor is a homage to frida kahlo and pretty cool, tables are a little sticky though. Started the meal with Taquitos - kind of a cross between a cannelloni and spring roll - I liked mine he was unimpressed but then I love Mexican especially guacamole. Opted for the pulled pork burros which turns out is a burrito ... Again I loved it, a little bit of spice but no burn and a lovely flavour. Service was ok but I don't think the mandatory 12.5% service charge is warranted. Which brought the meal to over £30 for one starter, one main, one (300ml) beer and a diet coke which is steep considering it's fairly basic street food in fairly basic surroundings. The real sting came when we realised the single shots of tequila were £7 each ...!If I was loaded Id be back ... As I'm not I won't.

Mamacita is a great hang out in WH with a funky vibe and latina music tempting one to get up and boogie, striking decor and informal service. Looking for a filling lunch, the quesadilla's came with small portions of filling, and the chips with dips were far to hard to bite...would have liked nachos. Service was great, the lady was on her own but seemed to keep everything under control.

Had a great night at Mamacita. Really attentive staff and really good value wine - we chose the house white and it was very good. Food was very tasty we only had mains as we weren't starving and it was ample. Want to go back and see the downstairs bar in full action.

We miss California, so it's handy that there's a Mexican restaurant down the street from us. We go in quite a bit, and it's always pleasant. The food tastes great, even though the portions are on the small side (about half the size we're used to)… but that means we don't need a post-brunch nap. I've been with friends with kids, and it was nicely teacup-human friendly, too.

You get the feeling this place won't be around for very long. The service is inconsistent (one of our waiters was excellent, another didn't appear as though they wanted to be there much) and the food is overpriced. Our guacamole was superb, but the enchiladas were a let down, appearing more like cannelloni. To have 12.5% added to the bill, rather than it be left to the customer's discretion, is also a little insulting after such a mediocre experience. The bar downstairs looks quite cool though. Ultimately, not without it's merits, but there are far better places to have Mexican food in London.

I've been to nearly all the restaurants in West Hampstead now but Mamacita is the place I always come back to. It's laid back and super fun with amazing cocktails (much much better than those at the Alice House nearby!). The staff are very friendly and it's popular with young professionals. The Mexican style fish and chips is literally amazing!

We visited Mamacita on a Saturday night, great margaritas, good food but when the bill came the General Manager bullied us for not paying the full service charge. The bill said it was discretionary (optional) therefore we left what we thought was reasonable. However telling us that the waitresses do not get paid and are living of the service charge is unacceptable. if that is the case make the service charge compulsory and not optional. The experience at the end of the night was disappointing.

My daughter proposed to try this relative new restaurant in New Hampstead as we like Mexican cuisine. The plce is nice and you can eat outside, even if the street is quite busy and noisy. The food was really not special (Mexican style on the low side) and I got something different from what I ordered (enchiladas with chorizo instead of chicken, quite heavy). The staff is extremely kind and utterly inefficient. As I said, disappointing.

I took my flatmate here for a birthday dinner and was really touched by the effort the staff made to ensure she enjoyed her evening. They bought out cake and candles, joining in as we sang along, and were extremely attentive all evening. The food is standard Mexican, unfortunately not the best I've ever tasted, and the cocktail list could do with a revamp. One member of staff did warn me I might be disappointed by the Sangria cocktail..However, I've never tipped so happily, I really enjoyed my evening thanks to the kind waiters.

Dined at Mamacita on a Saturday night. The restaurant was about a third full when we arrived at 7pm but by 8 the place was packed. The restaurant is casual and would be equally good for groups and couples. The large portion of corn chips that we ordered with guacamole was a disappointing size. However, there was no such issue with the size of the burritos, which were very generous. The food tasted good and we left feeling very content. A good option if you're looking for mexican food on west end lane.

Mamacita is a colorful addition to West End Lane and could succeed in that it offers Mexican which is something the high street is missing amongst a plethora of other cuisines on offer to local residents who, like myself, like to eat out. However, despite the colorful decor it misses the mark through the high price its uninspiring food.I visited for brunch, a first visit to check out a place I had seen for a while, but typically go elsewhere. At first glance, the menu is interesting with breakfast burritos and Huevos rancheros being items not offered elsewhere. However, when the food is received the portions could not be described as hearty and lacked seasoning. Additionally, I ordered a glass of orange juice that was delivered in a short glass with 5 or so ice cubes in it, which seemed a cynical attempt to save money. Finally, where Mamacita is failing is that through being Mexican it is inevitably going to be compared with all other Mexican restaurants offering a similar product: Chipotle, Chilango, Cafe Pacifico and Wahaca to name but a few; all restaurants which offer more satisfying food for a similar price. It seems like it’s playing too safe and what Mamacita needs is a good dose of passion.

Initially tried Mamacita within its first week of opening as I am a big fan of Mexican food and was delighted that one opened in the area. On that occasion I found the margaritas to be good but the food to be lacking of any spice or flavour whatsoever. Although it was the first week so I figured I would give it the benefit of the doubt. Having heard recently that it had changed its menu I thought it was time to get it another try so four of us went on Sunday night. Unfortunately the bar was closed when we visited. Again I found the frozen margarita to be good, though my friend got the original lime margarita and was disappointed with bot the flavour and its presentation (in a tumbler despite serving the other margaritas in a margarita glass). Most disappointingly the food has not improved that much. I asked the waitress what would she recommend between two dishes and she couldn't recommend one which should have been a sign that either choice was likely to be poor. I went for the chicken enchiladas. Whilst there is a bit more spice than on my previous visit the chicken as rock hard and was so over cooked it was hard to even recognise it as chicken. The Mexican rice was overcooked and mushy. The spicy Mexican fish and chips lacked spice. We got the corn chip, which at £11 was way overpriced and off market. Especially when the pico de gallo was little more than over ripened tomatoes with very tittle coriander, onion, chilli & lime, if any.Overall we were very disappointed and will not be returning.

The bill was a was a good value & no more than what i expect to go out in london. most UK mexican rest. give only 2 tacos instead of 3 tacos. the taste is on a different plain! This is a unique brand and not your average "English-Mexican" burritos overstuffed with rice , black beans and peppers. its actually stuffed with meat and no filler & for a Chicano that makes a big difference. Overall my group was thanking me for introducing them to this location, I would highly recommend, this a rare experience for myself to find mexican food that I enjoy in the UK.

We live in the area so tried this new addition out of curiosity.. Great atmosphere and bar downstairs... Margaritas good but other cocktails a bit ropey... Busy Friday night but service very friendly, prompt and helpful. We feel the pricing is per dish is several pounds more than you would pay in a top end Mexican restaurant in London(eg Wahaca).. In fact 3 soft tacos here are nearly 3x the price of wahaca! As mentioned before the portions are small and we left not hungry but not full after 2 starters and 2 mains..In fairness we did enjoy the food -£3 extra for a brushing of sauce and a small sprinkle of cheese took the mickey a little bit!We live locally and if we were to come back, it would be to try their brunch menu and take it from there....

Where to began... on the surface this place has it all. An interior comparable with a Soho venue and it brings Mexican to West Hampstead and the surrounding NW London area. But it all goes just a little bit wrong after that.£11 will get you a precise 12 corn chips (described on the menu as 'loads' but this doesn't go particularly far when shared amongst 4 people) with an OK guacamole and two non-de-script salsas. Corn chip top ups are charged so we didn't bother. The fish & chip main certainly lived up to its 'bites of fish' description with a not so generous 4 bites. They did however taste good and the aioli was particularly nice. The Californian and 3 Little Pigs burros tasted very good. Unfortunately one serving came out of the kitchen incorrectly marked and meals were therefore served to the wrong people. These were partially consumed before the realisation occurred. Fortunately the people affected were happy to swap meals part way through, as the waiter wasn't forthcoming in solutions of his own. It did get the chef's attention though, but he kept his distance and just peered over our shoulders from about 2 metres to get the visual confirmation he needed of his error. All very awkward and more than a bit off-putting.The ice creams were OK with the apple crumble flavour a highlight of the selection. A not so discretionary 12.5% service charge needs to be re-thought in light of the clunkiness of the whole experience. Mamacita does some things well but it's not an experience we'll be going back for.

Great atmosphere and decor was incredible. Very attentive service, where some tables were put together to accommodate us. The food, (I had the pulled pork quasedillas) was perfectly cooked, with soft smoky pork and crispy edges tortillas - but the portions were unforgivably small. (with the exception of the jalepenos side - which was HUGE) A shame, but we all left hungry, 2 guys and 1 very petit girl, after sharing 2 plates of nachos and each having a main.

I had the pleasure of eating here with my girlfriend and another couple. It was our first time here andI was immediately impressed - the restaurant is well decorated and there's a great buzz inside. The food was the best mexican I'd had to date - I had a great pulled beef burrito (wet) and shared some chicken and cheese tortilla starters. Unfortunately the starters came at the same time as the main which was a real shame and the reason for only 4 stars, but after a taste that was quickly forgottten. Excellent food and I will be recommending to friends!

This new Mexican restaurant is a great addition to West Hampstead. As well as serving great food, its a cool place to go for a margarita or three. I've tried a lot of Mexican street food places in London and this is definitely the best - much better than Wahaca. Top tip would be to go for the Three Little Pigs burros with pulled pork, chorizo, bacon and smoky chipotle mayo. Great with a blood orange margharita! While it might sound a bit strange, the Mexican Baja Fish & Chips looked amazing - spicy battered bites of fish, sweet potato fries and lime chipotle aioli. Loads of people were eating it.You can't book a table but there's a bar downstairs where can you get a drink while you wait. I think they're also going to start doing takeaways soon which would be amazing.
