Tortilla Cantina in West Dorset

Booked a table a week in advance, arrived an no-one had written it down. The manager/owners made a joke about it but had they been full and unable to seat us it could have been a different story. However being January and only 7pm we were the only people in the restaurant. We sat down and wee given the menus. Not a huge range on the menue - literally just Quesadillas or Tacos as the main but they all sounded lovely. We did not order starters as not a single starter was below £10 which seemed a bit pricey. We all ordered our mains- each of us went for different quesadillas. We did not order any sides. The meals came out promptly and we all enjoyed the however we did feel that each was overpriced by £5. This is supposed to be Mexican Street door but with 3 of our meals being around the £20 mark we felt that there either should have been a side included - not just the tiny scoop of beetroot and carrot on the side of the plate. However, price aside we all enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly and accommodating and check ed with one member of our part who is wheat intolerant about whether their order needed to be cooked seperatly.

Very high quality food, excellent service, will revisit and definitely recommend. The restaurant also has a food truck in various locations around Bridport throughout the year. One not to miss

Tortilla Cantina does a pop up at The Ollerod in Beaminster on Wednesday evenings. You buy your food and can sit in the bar or garden to eat and get drinks. We had tacos, loaded nachos, pork and ribs. All extremely delicious and well introduced and explained. Our first visit but certainly not the last

I’ve lived in bridport for a while now and tortilla has never not impressed me, their service especially from Blu is fantastic, quick and polite, I have recommended to family and friends

Lovely Mexican food in vibrant surroundings. Had a minced pork chilli that was not on the standard menu, very tasty. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

We had spotted this small eatery on a previous visit and decided to try it on a Friday . A good main menu and very good value lunch time deal. We chose a sharing platter which was hot, super fresh and very tasty. A great place for a lunch and I expect it has a real buzz in the evenings.

Went here on a sunday over Halloween almost expecting the usual classic central American cuisine. First time in Bridport so wasn't expecting too much, but when told it was only "traditional roast sunday" on the menu, I was nearly up and out the door, such was my disappointment. When the owner came out and explained what his " roast menu was" we immediately had faith in him and WOW, just WOW. Best meal ever ever!! Soo, looking forward to our next visit. Tried this place after hearing mixed things and thought best to try ourselves. It is advertised as 'authentic Mexican' which couldn't really be further from the truth. Cheddar laden 'quesadilla' which bares no resemblance to the origin of the dish. Would love Mexican cheeses.. proper corn tortillas (burritos and quesadilla were cheap floury type). Nothing tasted awful , absolutely edible but didn't live upto the advert.

Went to an open night mike on a Monday. My wife and I ate dinner there. A delicious looking, short menu which really delivered on all fronts. I dislike places with huge menus and prefer shorter, focused dining experiences. The food was truly excellent. A really quirky restaurant that is definitely unique and needed in ghis part of the world. We'll be back.

ROAST dinner on a Sunday at Tortilla Cantina is a MUST, the best roast spuds, the most succulent lamb, gorgeous gravy, delicious greens plus chorizo (chard from their garden)! PLUS lovely cauli and brocc cheese, served by beautiful chef Fiona and the delightful Blu ( who makes the MOST piquant cocktails ever) THEN a scrummy dessert, what's not to love. EVERY Sunday, make it a regular event.

I had the Guajillio chicken tacos - they are consistently so delicious. Even better when smothered with ‘Duggies Sauce’ until it is dribbling between your fingers as you take each bite. Thank you team for always delivering the Mexican joy.

Unlike a lot of generic, chain type, Mexican places you find in many town centres these days, this place actually delivers very authentic tasting Mexican food. The tacos are superb. Freshly cooked and delicious. Great service and dog friendly. Highly recommended.

The perfect place for relaxed, casual dining in Bridport. If the restaurant goes to the trouble of serving Mexican soft drinks as well as tequila and Mexican beers, then their attention to detail is going to be spot on. The food is great, so many terrific flavours in the quesadillas we ate. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. We really enjoyed ourselves!

Great food, plenty of options, if you not sure what you want there are tasting options so you can try different flavours, we did that with the tacos & we were offered the choice to cut our Quesadilla in half to share too, I decide I wanted it all to myself & wasn't disappointed. Delicious fresh tasting food in the heart of Bridport. It is a little pricier than some other Mexican's I have visited elsewhere but I think it's worth it. We tried their food last year at their pop up at the Ollerod in Beaminster and the standards were high then too.

Excellent Mexican food and cocktails in a relaxed environment. We went here for brunch whilst on holiday and had a lovely time!

Had the most beautiful Sunday lunch here with my family. Beautiful piece of pink roast beef. Great drinks to go with, including amazing Bloody Mary and unrushed atmosphere.

Can't recommend Tortilla highly enough, it's the best roast in Bridport with the nicest staff xxx I love everything about it and the team always make sure you have exactly what you want . Lovely cauli and brocc cheese, perfect yorkies, scrummy greens with chorizo and top notch beef. xx

We shared the pork quesadilla and chicken tacos. Both were delicious! They were really accommodating for any changes we asked for. Owner was really friendly and couldn’t do enough. Definitely recommend!

My partner and I visited here for a Valentine's meal this evening and we couldn't have been happier with the experience! Mexican is both of our favourite foods and we often find it's not done properly, we were pleasantly surprised by how authentic the food was here! On arrival, we were greeted and offered a choice of tables and the front of house team did a splendid job at serving us! All of them were very welcoming and smiley and catered our needs and wishes perfectly! We were also pleasantly surprised to find Jarritos on the drinks menu, at a very reasonable price too! A very hard find to come by, but definitely made our meal that tiny bit better. The staff were very knowledgeable and descriptive when we asked about different foods and drinks too. It's always nice going somewhere new and feeling comfortable with the service! The food was superb and displayed beautifully. We both had quesedilla's which were very filling, but absolutely divine! We finished our meal with tequila shots (because why wouldn't you when visiting a Mexican?). We asked about which types they had and were told great descriptions about each! I'd like to say a big thankyou to the young lady who worked front of house, although we had a small napkin disaster, you made light of the situation and put a smile on both our faces! Yourself and the young guy who also worked front of house, are very hard working and welcoming people, so thankyou for making our Valentine's meal that extra bit special! Would definitely recommend to friends and we are likely to come again soon!

We visited on Saturday evening for a friend's birthday as a party of 6. The food was amazing, I had the special which was a delicious slow-cooked short rib of beef with rice and corn ribs. The service was friendly and attentive. We'll certainly be coming back to this lovely place.

Best food available in Bridport town! Loved the whole experience. The staff were fantastic, patient, friendly and accommodating. A perfect venue for a family get together, child (and grandparent) lfriendly. Easy on the wallet too

Lunchtime specials or lite bites not available just one expensive menu. Prices probably OK for dinner if sharing. I was offered a toasted sandwich for £9.50 which was nice but pricey at lunch time in my opinion. Medium glass's of wine snd small bottle of water £10. Was an expensive late lunch. Check the drinks prices first or you get a shock at the end. It's Bridport not London!

So you've invited seven friends to Bridport on a Saturday, and have forgotten to book a place for dinner. Thankfully, Tortilla Cantina, although busy, found us a table and we had a superb meal, with lovely imported Mexican beers and soft drinks. My friends and I loved it! Thanks so much!

Went to Bridport for a short break. Within 3 days went twice for dinner. We loved it, it even made our 12 year old venture out of his comfort zone with the menu and he loved it. Food was amazing, not to mention the tequila, service and atmosphere. A gem of a place. If you are near, go there, if you are not, it will take longer to get there, but you won’t regret it.
