Come here quite often with partner. Decided to visit with family and baby as a change. We got here just before 2pm and decided from the menu that we would have afternoon tea so we wasted time until 2:30 when afternoon tea was available to be told this has to be booked. Could it not state on the menu or website that this has to be booked? By saying it's available from 2:30pm it's implying that it doesn't need to be booked. Was very disappointed as was looking forward to this. As we were deciding on something else to eat we realized from the rude staff member that there was hardly anything left available on the menu including no jacket potatoes. Food we did end up with was very nice as always at good prices. Sat outside which was clean and tidy. May consider booking the afternoon tea in the future but I suggest it's added to the menu to prevent disappointing.

We've just been here for a drink and some toast. My daughter has allergies and they were brilliant at checking the food for us. The front of house worker was lovely, checked the allergens for us, really welcoming. The food was brought out by someone accompanied by the head chef who confirmed she had double checked all the allergies. Made it feel very safe for her to eat. The covid measures in place also felt very secure, very well organised. We'll be visiting again!

This pristine restaurant midst a garden centre is well worth a visit while your partner shops. A good selection of Salads, sarnies and sweet courses is available and the adjacent loos are spotless. Can be overwhelmed at busy times so go out of hours if you can.

waited over half an hour for 2 quiches only to be told they had made a mistake and there was only one quiche would we like a chicken pie for the same money which we agreed to do. It arrived and looked and tasted awful. We will not be returning again, it's a shame as the cafe has been refurbished and looks lovely. We will just have to look for another venue, there's certainly a lot about.

Came to the coffee shop for lunch with my mother. Another customer warned us not to sit against the back wall as a mouse kept running out into the coffee shop. So we moved further into the restaurant and sure enough the mouse kept running out under the tables. I mentioned this to 2 staff members who seemed quite unconcerned and said it was only a field mouse (I've heard that one before!) and that it was the managers job to sort it. WELL GET IT SORTED THEN, I shall not be visiting again.

Called into the garden centre, unaware that they had a restaurant which was a pleasant surprise. It is good value for money, the cherry scones were bursting with cherries and tasty, the sausage rolls also tasty. The staff were pleasant as were the surroundings, well worth a visit.

Situated in the garden center very useful for both a break in shopping or for a meal. Our last visit was for morning coffee and a as usual we were not disappointed. An excellent Mocha and shortbread for £4.65, with great serviceand even outside seating. We have also taken advantage of the breakfast on past visits and a small one at £1.99 is hard to beat.

Went with a voucher for afternoon tea-£6.95 for two The cafe is excellent and we have been before and this was a good deal. There were plenty of other people clutching vouchers and the place was full. We had to wait for the afternoon tea, due to the number of people turning up at the same time and the number of staff. Some people were having a moan but it was less than £3.50 per person, so get a life!. The staff, I felt , were excellent. When it came, it was alright. I don't know if you get the same for full price but we got two triangles of cheese and two ham, plus a chunk of chocolate cake, a chunk of carrot cake and a giant fruit scone, with a mass of cream in the middle. Fine dining it was not and the balance between sweet and savoury was maybe too much on the sweet side but for the price, you can't complain too much and the cafe is still worth checking out.

Visited this cafe with a disabled client who I take out for the day on occasions, she suggested the cafe for lunch as she wanted to visit the garden centre. On arrival the staff were least welcoming couldn't even be bothered to greet us, woman on the till looks at us blank instead of asking "hello there what can I get for you". Ordered food at £7:95 each for 2 egg mayo sandwiches and a bottle of water. Waited 25 minutes for our food, wasn't particularly busy at the time, waitress who brought our food couldn't look any less interested in her job, no manners at all. My clients bread was so dry and my salad looked about a week out of date, all wilted and brown. Very little filling in the sandwiches which also didn't help with the dry bread situation. Before leaving the cafe we visited the toilets absolutely disgusting, un acceptable. Will not be returning here to eat and will also make sure family and friends aren't also ripped off and left disappointed. Seems a shame unfortunately because the garden centre is fantastic and the surrounding is beautiful.

We've been here before. It's a bit on the expensive side for a garden centre cafe but the food has always been good.We arrived at 11:45. We fancied a breakfast but thought we might be to late. There's a sign next to the trays stating that breakfast finishes at 11:30 and sandwiches would be available until 4. I wonder if they get a lot of requests for a late breakfast and that's the reason they have an extra sign? Perhaps they could do listen to their customers? We were fine with a sandwich. The lady behind the counter, a manager or supervisor I think, really couldn't care less about serving us. There was no greeting and as soon as a colleague came across she just grunted something and left us. The guy who brought the sandwiches out to he table was great. Very happy and warm. The sandwiches weren't warm though. It was nice bread and good bacon, but was almost cold. At £5.25 each for a sandwich and tea I would have expected it to be hot. Surroundings are nice. Welcome and counter service very poor. Food not good enough for the price.

Visited at about 3pm on a Wednesday, handful of customers in, tables littered with both rubbish and dirty pots. Staff not particularly welcoming and carried on with a personal conversation whilst a queue formed. Member of staff then decided it was right time of the day to vacuum the whole cafe area! Toilets were absolutely disgusting. Was that shocked at state of baby changing I used the car boot instead!! Will not be returning!

Called in tonight as seen family pub and dogs welcome on their sign.....just our street. Well. Absolutely gobsmacked with the prices, cheep and cheerful. Brie, as discussed as in the cheese, absolute delight, what a barmaid! Signposted me to everything I was drinking and offers, could jot have asked more of her, saleswoman in the making! We will be back, with child and dog 😊 cannot recommend any higher

We waited an hour for eggs and toast. Owner only cared about Door Dash orders going out the door. Given that Courtenay has so many great casual dining places, give this one a pass. Give your business to restaurants that care about providing good service to their customers.

Went today for lunch , I decided i was having soup , they said it was the last portion so that was fine , I asked for no bread which , when it came it was the smallest half bowl of soup for £6.25 , I didn’t want anything knocking off for not having the bread but did expect a full dish, looking at the menu I could of had a small breakfast, or sandwich for about the same price , it’s soup where do they get over £6 for it!!
