Dead atmospehere and rude staff

Lovely atmosphere for an arranged event on a Friday night. They served lovely tasting pizza which was cooked to perfection, a DJ banging out the tunes creating a good atmosphere to have a boogy on the dancefloor. The only thing that let it down slightly was the speed of the bar serving drinks and the layout of ordering them. But would recommend for events !!

Went there for a party. The bartenders have no idea about the drinks I asked for bourbon he started showing me the jd honey first, then courvoiser first then the hennensey have no clue what’s happening. Middle of our party the delivery drivers coming up to pick up their orders continuously. Very cheap/uncomfortable seating and specially the toilets look more like the staff toilets. As a part of the chain hotel they should have some standard.

Cocktails are nice (especially on 241!).. Atmosphere is nice - more sophisticated than other nearby venues. Decent music too.

It's not worth going to if you're over 25 & want a drink paid for with cash. Seating was cheap and uncomfortable, but I guess if you're young and have money to waste on highly priced drinks, it's fine. There were, however, lots of people there enjoying themselves! 😉

Good location and friendly staff. Can be a nice place for drinks but not food. The pizza is shockingly bad. Dry, hard, lack of taste, the sauce layer was so thin that it became a part of the pizza base, and all ingredients were overcooked that it became one dried substance. We ordered 4 different pizzas and all of them were equally bad. If I may recommend sending the cook to any pizza place before allowing him to continue cooking that.

I booked a table for last Thursday evening with a “ living social voucher “ and asked them to confirm my booking . I did not receive a reply but none the less my husband and I went for what we thought was going to be a nice meal , only to find it was closed. I have on numerous times tried to phone them and have emailed them . Still no reply . Has anyone else experienced this , plus how do we get reembursed ?!

Good selection of cocktails & music. Place has a cool vibe, we had a great time, popped in two nights in a row.

We had inedible pizzas and drink prices are extortionate. We made a quick exit rather than ruin our evening completely.

Very overpriced for tiny tiny cocktails - £11 each

Bouncer on New Years eve night rude and made us feel uncomfortable. Said they don’t have space even though we made a booking, didn’t even check with the door staff, didn’t ask for a name. We then got an email saying we didn’t attend and there was a table reserved for us. Put us off the place massively went somewhere else where staff had manners and nice customer service.

The worst pizza ever. 3 of us offered different pizzas and paid right away. Unfortunately, non of us couldn’t eat the pizza after the first bite. Not wanting to make a scandal, we politely informed a waiter that we didn’t want it and asked to take it away. Soon after the manager came to our table and very aggressively defended the quality of pizzas. After realizing that we didn’t intend to ask a refund, she left. Not only no one apologized to us, but the aggressive scene made us uncomfortable. We left immediately.

Located at the corner of busy downtown Bournemouth, only noticed through the metropolis of people enjoying the outdoor space. It was nicely backed up with some nice vibes & drinks...easily recommend & looking forward to going back.

First visit and first of many - amazing ambience great playlist credit to DJ cute quirky interior. Definitely would visit again.

Booked a table for the eve but arrived and we were the only customers, was planning on spending a few hours here however on arrival the beer taps were being cleaned and we were told it would be 10/15 minutes until available. I had a cocktail whilst my partner waited to be able to have a beer. 35 minutes passed and still no beer was being served. Ended up telling them not to bother with the beer and we got up and left. If anyone is looking for a nice atmosphere/drinks Be At One is the place to go!

Myself and a friend visited tonic social for some drinks after dinner and was greeted by servers and bar staff who worked amazingly considering how busy it was, however it was really disheartening to see the staff members being shouted at by the supervisor. The supervisor was shouting at staff right next to us and being very rude toward them despite the fact they were working extremely hard to meet demands of the customers. The supervisor kept rushing past the table grabbing glasses of them when we had only just put them down.

I love tonic social, the service is always amazing and I love the staff their, however on this particular visit, myself and a friend witnessed the supervisor being not very nice to his staff members - being rude and shouting at them in front of guests. It was a very busy night and the staff were doing an amazing job coping with the pressure so I believe this behaviour from the supervisor was completely unnecessary

Nathi works in tonic social! She is an absolute star. The nicest waitress and spend the time to have a chat with us which I loved! Welcoming and friendly. I met Nathi for 5 minutes when I sat down and ordered drinks and instantly felt like family. Tonic social is the place to be and if you’re not getting served by this absolute gem! Then your missing out! NATHI IS THE BEST. I’m from London and I’ve never felt so welcome and at home! Such a lovely woman! I couldn’t recommend this woman enough!

Came in tonight with a friend for some drinks before dinner, LILLIE WAS AMAZING! Her service was outstanding. Such a lovely venue I cannot recommend more. Thankyou Lillie for making our experience so good and nice :)

I went to this place for a few drinks with some friends, service from our waitress Nath was amazing she was always checking if we needed anything. The cocktails were so good too! Could ask for anything more Thankyou so much!

I went last Friday and I had a really good time, good music/DJ, good cocktails and also the waitress Nat was lovely caring our table. Definitely will be my favorite place to go on Friday!

We were two couples vacationing down south and stumbled across this place whilst heading to level8 at the Hilton hotel. Staff were very friendly and polite, welcoming and helpful. The manager Anthony Williams was an absolute Jem and looked after us from start to finish. The music was an outstanding compilation of 80&90’s RnB hits and even though you couldn’t dance it was the best night of our 4day weekend swaying away at our table!! Cocktails were an average £10 each and deliciously done. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are planning a trip there again in August just to go there and taking friends with us to show them. Really great night, one to remember and it definitely made our anniversaries special! Thanks 5stars all the way!!

Interior space/decor and staff are great. Just zero atmosphere and on the occasion we attended, due to a lack of guests, was told no food was being served.

Visiting from Southampton the past Sunday! Just found out this place and it was lovely. Jesus and the rest of the team treated my husband and I incredible, we had a Planters punch and a Dark temptation cocktails🍸 We´ll be back ;)

Great atmosphere and service. Pascal, Jesus and all the staff looked after us all night made sure we had a great time and constantly topped up with cocktails.

Had a great night here, thurs 20th,Four of us were visiting Bournemouth and originally only stopping for one drink, we ended up staying all night. From entering the guy in charge pascal couldn’t have been more attentive. He explained the COVID rules and showed us to our seats. Shout out to Letitia also who worked the bar.Excellent service, music and atmosphere.

I came to this bar with no expectations at all, it just hade availability at the moment and i needed a drink and do some writing. The customer services was beyond my expectations, besides having best expresso martini in Bournemouth, waitress Otto when thorough whole menu with me and recommended me the best drinks. It was just something i needed for that evening. If you want a night out, or just have a casual drink for the evening i cant recommend this bar enough.

Our waiter, Otho, made the experience all the more exceptional. My friend and I had a fantastic time at the Tonic Social, enjoying some brilliant cocktails. Thank you, Otho, for making everything so special! We truly recommend this cocktail place to all who are looking for a great place in Bournemouth.

We went for a date a few days ago and were very pleased. Great location and all the staff, especially our waiter Otto was nothing short of amazing.He remembered my partner from a few weeks ago and recreated the cocktail she had and really liked. We will definitely go back.

Really lovely to be back, with friendly staff, friendly guests, great wine, good food. Otto & Pascale made us feel so welcome, I'd hurt my back and they made sure I had a chair with a back to it and that we were warm by the heaters. I've really missed you Tonic Gang!

I almost never write reviews, but we met a waiter there who had to be recognized publicly. Othoniel was his name and he was phenomenal. Excellent service and pretty good place.

I went to tonics for the first time after lockdown with a couple of friends. The food and drinks were quick as well as delicious. Additionally, Otho our waiter couldn't have been more helpful. He explained and recommended us exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend this place, definitely planning to go back soon!

We had a fantastic experience at tonic social due to great services from Otto. He was attentive, polite, and efficient. He moved the heaters closer, served our drinks within 3-5 mins, and continued to ask if everything is up to standard while busy serving other customers as well. It was overall my top experience in any bars in Bournemouth and I would highly recommend it.

Such an amazing place with amazing vibes, so good to be back here! Working in hospitality I know how tough it can be but Otto is a true credit to the industry. Otto’s service is amazing, he was running the entire outside last night and did brilliantly, an absolute star who’s service always keeps me coming back! The drinks and pizza were also amazing, props to the bartender and the chef!

What a great night! Toma’s customer service was on point. The strawberry daiquiris that me and my friend had were the best in town. And the shots Pascal made for us were the bomb. Well done guys!

Amazing service, the cocktails and food were delicious. We also received amazing service from the waiter Lenka, she was so kind and welcoming couldn’t have wished for a better experience. We were able to sit outside due to Covid and they put the heaters on for us - all staff wearing masks and following the guidelines!

Came here on the 10th October, was served by a lovely guy called Pascal who got us a table out of the cold and assisted us really professionally and would have done anything for you.

Al llegar justo cuando estaban llamando a los últimos pedidos, después de que la rechazaran de otros 3 establecimientos, la encantadora dama (cuyo nombre no logramos atrapar) nos dejó entrar para un cóctel de cumpleaños de última hora. Los cócteles hechos por Pascal fueron absolutamente increíbles, además de ser tan amables como para darme un cóctel de cumpleaños de cortesía. Y nuestro camarero, Lenka, no podía fallarle, ella era un ángel absoluto y realmente resultó toda la noche después de un comienzo tan difícil. ¡Volveremos al 100%! ! !

First time here and especially during covid otto was very inviting and took all necessary precautions but was humble about it. I loved the place and would go back again anytime.

Visited today for the first time since lockdown really missed this place. Change of menu which is all good but thankfully Pascal remembered how to make my favourite cocktail (no longer on the menu) what a legend! If you haven’t been here you’re missing out!

Staying in the Hilton so popped in for a drink and a bite to eat. Service excellent by Sergio, great pizzas and wine. Very Covid safe, track and trace rules followed. Very clean. Will definitely revisit whilst we are here for a few days.

A lovely bar with a nice atmosphere and lovely drinks, the evening was made by the fantastic service we received off of Otto and Pascal. Nothing was too much trouble for Otto and the cocktails were great!

Tonic Social covers social distancing well and it isn't crowded at all which is why we went in. It is table service only, which is fine but it would be handy if staff were a bit more attentive to customers. It took quite some time to order our drinks, not because the staff were overly busy but more that they were talking amongst themselves at the bar. Our waitress was apologetic when she realised. It would also be handy to have a full bar list in terms of gun, whisky, rum and tonics. As customers aren't allowed to the bar, it can't be expected that the waiting staff know every label and type that is stocked.

Such an amazing service, such a brilliant vibe. Our server Otto was absolutely amazing, couldn’t ask for a better service. He is one in a million and so great with customer service - one of the best servers I’ve ever had. The bartender was also amazing, pascal! Great team and great service.

Well I walked in with my mates and simply asked my server, “ can you make a Mia tia” he replied “ course I can I can make anything” later he brought over the best Mia Tia I ever have received, and trust me I know my Mia Tia’s. Thank you Otto for a beautiful drink and thank you Pascal for helping him. 17/10

Perfect start to the evening. Visited for drinks which did not disappoint! One particular barman Pascal was so attentive and the service was amazing, made drinks outside of the menu and made sure to make us feel comfortable throughout the whole evening. The music and the atmosphere was great and the overall bar experience was lovely. Will be definitely coming back soon!

This is definitely one if my favourite places in Bournemouth. It's great for any purpose, drinks with friends, a date or even an after work coffe on a chill afternoon. The attention of bartenders like Pascal and Otho makes it even more special. It's great to just come in and see them working because I know I will have a laugh. Highly recommended

Went here for a quiet cocktail one night and couldn't believe how amazing the drinks and service are... We came back 3 nights in a row and sampled most of the menu and were so impressed. Would absolutely recommend for chilled evening drinks. Ask for Gregorio, his cocktails are incredible and his service is first class :)

The outside terrace looked attractive and seeing as covid was still rife , decided it would be a good option.Friendly greeting and seated outside quickly. Ordered three pizzas, various toppings and a bottle of wine .The pizzas were like Tesco’s cheapest, but we got what we ordered.The place looks like a good bar for millennials to pose around in.Probably have good ambience when things get back to normal.

Such a lovely little gem! We stumbled up on the bar and were pleasantly surprised by their delicious cocktail offerings and friendly staff. If you're in the mood for good vibes, good food, great music, delicious cocktails and great service then this is a must! It didn't feel touristy and despite the restrictions around Covid, the staff have created an awesome atmosphere. We first visited on Friday and went back on Saturday. Highly recommended!

Slow service considering it was quiet and expensive drinks but has potential and sure it has better atmosphere in normal times. Good selection of cocktails and good lunch options

Nos gustó mucho la decoración, pero eso es todo. Éramos 10 para el brunch. El camarero no tiene idea de la comida que se ofrece. La mayoría de nosotros tenía pizza, horrible. La comida salía a intervalos de 10 minutos: desde la primera comida hasta la última comida aparecieron al menos 40 minutos, estábamos tan hambrientos que no nos ayudó ver al personal comiendo pizza detrás del bar. Nos quejamos y una comida fue reembolsada. Volvería a tomar algo pero nunca volvería a comer aquí.

Quality bar, friendly professional staff, reasonable prices and easy to get served. I was impressed.

Llamamos aquí en nuestro camino de regreso colina arriba a nuestro hotel. El lugar estaba bastante ocupado y tenía algunos grupos que debían haber estado en fiestas navideñas. De todos modos, los seis tomamos bebidas y nos relajamos. Es un lugar encantador, buena ubicación y personal amable.

Cosy for a drink on a cold December afternoon

Booked a table for my friends 21st birthday. We rang twice. Turned up and they didn’t have our table. Had to sort something in front of us. Menu online isn’t what is served on the night, completely different!! When we did order food, it came out one by one but with 5/10mins in between so by the time everyone had food, half the table finished. One of the pizzas (all they served was pizza!) came without a topping, and when sent back it had came back out just chucked on top cold.

Always a great time here with friends, friendly staff. And they do some great cocktails, awesome vibe

Nice place to go to. Location is good, inside has an interesting lay out. Staff is welcoming and pleasant. I went there with a friend for the first time, they were doing a Japanese experience evening. Food was good and desert was unusual. Perhaps if online booking and email replies will pick up a speed that will help a lot. 4* is only for those slow responses and we got charged £8 for a mocktail, which is dear(as we were tired, didn't question it to be honest). A small pot of tea £4.40. Food menu though looked more appropriate with their prices. A couple of parking areas near by makes it easy to visit this establishment. Recommend!

There is always a great atmosphere in here & a good vibe, even if not many people. Big group this time & when a glass was knocked off a table, one of the staff was meticulous in ensuring every piece of glass was swept up, taking time to clear it up.

Great time trying out Tonic's sushi experience evening. Wary at first but raw and cooked fish and a veggy option were superb. Thought I'd still be hungry at the end but surprised to find I was full and had to share with friends. Definitely returning

Never noticed this place before, but it was recommended by our hotel and it didn’t disappoint. Great drink selection, large heated outdoor area and the staff were brilliant, very friendly. This place could become a regular when we’re in Bournemouth.

It was ok. Nice venue and outdoor seating, but breakfast was pretty small for the amount we paid. Had to wait absolutely ages for cutlery so were just sat there watching our food go cold. I even went in at one point to get the cutlery myself, but was told it was coming and to sit back down. We were then waiting another 5-10 minutes! Wouldn't go back for food but would for drinks.
