Commodore Restaurant and Bar in Bournemouth

I went to lunch on Wednesday with my partner and it was great. Excellent service from Jemma and the food was lovely. Didn't have to wait long either. Definitely recommend and will be going again soon!

Revisit from January which was excellent before This visit also really good and we stayed the night, hotel manager was really nice Ross / russ I’mmsorry I can’t remember was quick to replace a bulb for us and he has a very friendly bunch of staff which makes this venue a lovely stay breakfast and dinner were good hot and tasty, great choice! We don’t mind leaving reviews, couldn’t get google card working so we promised we would re post a review Hope to see you in about 4 months again

New menu has good options for the latest trend in food, personally miss the seabass but had an amazing fish and chips The beer and burger deal was really good value! Staff are very friendly still, a few new faces but still good service as I remember from a visit a couple of months ago

Great only went with my girlfriend I don't normally write reviews but I must take the time to write one as it was a excellent stay.Staf couldn't have been more helpful.

A truly terrible meal. We waited over 45 minutes for dry unappetising food. The kids roast meal was dry and had no green veg. The cauliflower cheese was unrecognisable as anything edible and the rest was either overcooked or undercooked and soggy. Bullet-like roast potatoes, hard parsnips and the steak was a dry slab of meat. The inexperienced waitresses were polite but failed to take the orders correctly or thoroughly. I’m not sure why we stayed for pudding but we wished we hadn’t. The chocolate fondant was overcooked and the custard portion was stingy. Don’t waste your money. Go to the Spyglass down the road where at least someone there knows how to prepare food to a decent standard.

I don’t think you can get much better location than this, the pub is on the front of the cliff, overlooking the waters of Bournemouth (southbourne) beaches. Next to the cliff lift, park, crazy golf. Minutes from shops. Across the road from the beach. Food was great scampi and gammon both well cooked and a very good level of Friendly service. Not just normal service. The staff here seem happy and pass it through their service. All round excellent and will visit more

Dropped in just for a drink then decided to return the next night for a meal. Food was nice and reasonably priced and the service was excellent. Lovely smiling staff behind the bar were very helpful. In a pleasant location with a sea view. We’ll be back.

Expected cheap and cheerful for a greene king but was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the steak & the seabass risotto - steak and risotto cooked perfectly, crispy skin and delicate meat on the seabass. Friendly staff too, 10/10

Food was above average, we were expecting pub food but actually was pleasantly surprised with Good quality food. Drinks were good and the friendly service topped off to make a great visit. Jem was serving us today and a young bubbly quirky lady who was very trendy!

We came back to enjoy the commodore for lunch with friends and sat on the patio area out the front. We were shaded by what looked to be brand new unbrellas and benches. Beautiful views of the sea and cliffs while we enjoyed some great food! fish n chips was lovely! Thank you to a lady called Lisa who was serving us today

Lovely rooms, amazing view, great breakfast. Big shout out to Robyn who worked there. She recommend so many lovely places to visit in Southbourne during our stay. And what a lovely place Southbourne is to visit. 100% will return.

Fab place for a spot of lunch combined with a lovely beach walk! Amazing food and staff were really friendly and welcoming, the added bonus was that the pub is dog friendly and the staff were making a huge fuss of our fur children 🐶🐾🐶! Will be returning soon 😊

We had a lovely Sunday Roast Sirloin of Beef at The Commodore today. The Yorkshire pudding what the best we have had in years! The beef was cooked to perfection beautifully tender and plentiful. The roast potatoes were crisp and delicious and we had four each!! A gravy boat each which is brilliant as we love gravy. The value of the meal and the lovely staff made for a perfect lunch. Well done !!!!

Came here for a baby shower and it was perfect for what we needed. Selina was fab with communication and helping organise and the event went really well. Would def recommend.

Visiting as a hotel and pub guest it is a Hidden gem in southbourne, staff are so nice. Food is good, better than most places I have stayed. The building has great character and atmosphere rooms big and clean Service is excellent we will return! Already booked to come back

Had a really good meal the other night and said we would leave a TripAdvisor for the staff, the staff are soo friendly and care about the guests and the food! Wow it was soo good, new items on the menu to try and the flavours were great! The room was ok clean. But very noisy outside pub,music going on till late at night. We didn't get served at the bar,was told to get our drinks at the tent outside, which had run of beers but were only serving prosecco by the bottle. So as to get you to spend more money. WE LEFT. Breakfast was,awful, and served cold.toast got stuck in the toaster, tea and coffee cold. Staff took ages to come with your order.

I get a lift to romsey atm there's a guy throwing himself of a bridge somewhere so roads are choked I get dropped the other side of muddyford cause gridlock lift lives that side so gonna take hours to drop me an get back . ANYWAY phone died an im watching the ebay so it's like worst nightmare walking home to Boscombe dead phone I tried a pub for a phone charger the Riverside or something total snobs didn't entertain someone needing a charger totally beneath them . Second pub spy glass an kettle totally lovely they even asked there kitchen staff for a charger great stuff didn't have though . 3rd pub commodore. Brilliant straight away charger offered an selina brought me a stoll so I could sit at the bar an still use my phone while it charged . Loved this place when it opened a couple years ago but the service and food quality has slipped and the prices have gone up. The Art Deco bar (one of F. Scott Fitzgerald's old haunts) is still well worth visiting for a drink though.

It was our third time visit this pub. Kitchen is a bit slow, but the food is always nice, and the environment is super. Beautiful view. During the afternoon is perfect for a family lunch, we always take our 1 yo son.
