Toney Minchella @ Haven Point in South Tyneside

Cappuccino to write home about. Hot, but not that hot it can not be pleasantly drunk. Staff very friendly. A big thank you to whoever makes the Cappuccino.

Best broth around, although a little expensive. Great staff. Nipping clean. Beautiful surroundings.

We love coming here for an ice cream. The food options are freshly cooked and are very tasty. We got a Katsu Bao Bun and an Original Burger. They were generous portions and can be customised when asked (I got my Bao bun without chilli flakes) There is a good amount of seating attached to the building. We also got a dog sausage (already pre chopped) and our Germans Shepherd loved it ❤️

A good place to have a quick coffee. It's not the best, but they serve you well.

We had a lovely meal sitting outside the cafe with a marvelous view of the harbour and beach. Very pleasant and helpful staff in love located Cafe.

We visit regularly here to take the dog for a walk and get an iceream. Plenty of parking and idely situated on the sea front next to the Fair.....

They delivered our cake warm when we asked for it cold and the cake tasted bad but the coffee abd mocha was nice

A visit to the North East wouldn’t be a visit without ice cream at Minchellas. Wifey & I both had 99’s which were heaven on a cold Day in March. Always worth a visit !

Great little place, staff charming.

The first time in this part of the world last Sunday. Stopped for a coffee and a hot chocolate and two pannins. The whole experience was excellent from that of the dedicated staff, clean tables, dog friendly, fantastic price and value for money with excellent customer service. Will definitely recommend to anyone and will call again.

Was here a month or two back, there was a bit of a queue but it was a sunny day so to be expected. Only problem we had was the card machine went down and we had no cash on us. The staff let us have our ice cream and coffee for free due to this which was nice of them.

Can't fault the location or the food, the steak rice box was delicious and well worth the money paid. However, they are using sainsburys plastic cups for their wine which measure around 150ml but charging for 175ml. This should be looked at as against trading standards. Tbf for the price you could sell it as a smaller measure, but you should be advertising it for the same. Won't stop me going again!

Burgers are good, and service was quick.

Minchellas has been around since 1942 and serves beautiful ice cream. It was a bit chilly today for one today so we opted for cheese toasties and warming coffee. One of their parlours is situated right on the beach at Haven Point. Food and drink were lovely, reasonably priced, staff were very polite. Only down point was the table that we cleared ourselves to get a table. Worth a visit all year round but obviously if we get a summer it gets very busy.

The burger looked pre-made not fresh.. Monotone coloured, as if it was steamed - no obvious grilling or frying for tasty browning. Not dry, but tasted of stewed mince. A cold cheese slice placed on top of it. It doesn't matter how much other garnish you put on it (a lot), you've no excuse for getting something so simple and easy so wrong. But, the cajun chicken rice box was great, the service is superb, the coffee's ok and we all know about the great ice cream, so have a 3/5 .

Fantastic Coffee served by friendly staff

Used to love this place but in my opinion it has gone down hill. Waited about 20 minutes for a wrap. I understand it can get busy but don’t take on loads of orders if yous can’t handle them. Also while I was ordering I heard a load of swearing from the man serving me while I was with my son. unprofessional

Milkshakes used to be lovely. Loads of ice cream just got one now and it was basically milk and syrup. Coffee is over priced for the quality of it.

Visiting South Shields for day and found this little place had a wrap and a sandwich both made fresh and really good lovely little sitting area and when finished nipped round other side for ice cream oyster shell style not had one in years and was fantastic, great little place nice menu great location.

Lovely outdoor seating, food and drinks. Had only every had an ice cream here so decided to try the food when meeting a friend. Was not disappointed. I had a steak salad box which was plenty for lunch. I took half the salad home to finish off later. The caramel lattes hit the spot too. 😋

Love the steak focaccia with Cajun mayo. Really good. The bread in particular is outstanding. Have had a burger too, massive.

Only had a hot chocolate and a Bovril later but both were nice. Having seen the menu of food they do you are spoilt for choice though I haven't tried the food so I can't comment on that. Outside sitting only and they take card for payment too without there being a minimum spend 👌

We visited this and another Toney Minchella last week and enjoyed toasties and sausage sandwiches with good coffee. Friendly staff and looks very clean. Will definitely be back on our next visit to South Shields

Breakfast muffins are spot on. Staff are usually attentive and efficient but coffee could be better.

It's right next to the beach which was super convenient for us. Also very good quality drinks for a low price. I got a hot chocolate and my partner got a mocha and both were lovely.

Totally fantastic burger that I've never heard of before.... valdostana! Chicken, patio mayo, onion, mozzarella. Mocha pretty decent as well,!

Really nice place good quality food

Ice-cream delicious as always but staff were miserable, arguing while making the ice cream and have me a filthy look when handing over the cones. The cone broke apart as the lady was making them up then the second ones when handed over broke apart in my hand covering my arm in ice cream. When I finally got to eat it too the cone also didn't taste very nice. Poor show more minchella profit over quality is not the way to go.

Bought two “Terry’s orange hot chocolates” on good Friday. Didn’t wait long but costed £6.60 altogether and wasn’t good. They looked good, topping was nice, plenty cream and enjoyed the two Terry’s orange segments but the actual hot choc itself just tasted of orange syrup and no chocolate, I didn’t have mine. It was out of a machine that isn’t very good. Also underneath the cream it was only half full. Very disappointed after a very long walk to Souter lighthouse and back. Won’t be returning.

I liked it very much but found the food an bit pricey for the portions you get only thing i would say is i wish thay was heaters in the sitting area its freezing

order what you want from the displayed menu and it is prepared while you wait, I had the chicken salad in a box

Our favourite place for a Sunday morning sausage sandwich! This little cafe is brilliant - lovely staff, freshly cooked food and super service. We go regularly and have never had anything but a gorgeous breakfast!

Steak wrap, teacake and two coffees. We stopped off here due a cuppa and light bite as the other restaurants and cafe were not very appealing. Cold Dec day and all but 1 table free when we arrived. Food was very respectable for such a small cafe. Coffee was excellent as expected from Minchella franchise. Great service and friendly staff. Saw a chap in motorised chair and they couldn't do enough for him. Nice to see in this day and age.

Fantastic burgers, well worth a visit and a fantastic location with views of the Tyne and sea.

Very friendly staff, nothing beats a cup of coffee with the gorgeous view ! Quite few tables available as well as easy access from car park if needed.

Great! It's back on the menu, winter broth. It's served with croutons and chopped chives, exactly what you need on a chilly day by the beach.

Real dairy ice cream, not the Mr whippy type but the real thing! Been here quite a few times! Highly recommended!

Found this place by accident in April and tried the 6oz Aberdeen Angus bacon and cheeseburger. Totally out of this world and I eat a lot of burgers! Its hot, succulent and bursting with flavour and fillings. I'm not exaggerating in describing it as probably the best I've ever eaten- including America! Been back twice since then. The little cafe at Haven point is just right : clean, efficiently run with a friendly service. I will be a regular visitor.

We wanted something different to fish and chips for a change and by choosing the burgers here we chose well.Good range from classic to something more unusual... mine was the Catalonia and was delicious.Efficient friendly service and all on our beautiful sea front. Thank youDefinitely go back again but maybe without car next time

Love the Minchella icecream here, it's kept at the right consistancy and is always fresh and reasonabley priced. Nice place to sit and enjoy the fresh sea air.🙂

Quick and friendly service, simple menu and very refreshing ice cream! Great views and a nice place to stop when out for a long walk!

Out for a walk along the coast so my wife and I called in for a tea and a coffee, the young man that served us was pleasant but the tea was cold and too milky and the coffee was horrible. This was a disappointing and no way as good as we expected , Minchella outlets in the town are much better. So this new establishment must get there act together and keep the image of quality expected from Minchella up. Can't complain about the food we didn't have any.

Our regular all year round. The food is delicious and always a friendly service. Highly recommended.

This is our local all year round go to place for fabulous egg muffins. Lots of of other delicious food on the menu too.

This is an ideal stop after a brisk walk for a coffee and a light lunch . They even provide fleece blankets for the colder days. Try the Italian burger which was in a delicious brioche bun bursting with salami cheese salad pesto and a big juicy burger . Decent coffee a selection of cold drinks and friendly staff that serve from a hatch but then bring the food out .

Our visit to Toney Minchella @Haven Point is always enjoyable. Whether we visit every day or every month, Vince and Louis always give great personalised service. They always remember our order and have it prepared for us as we arrive. We would highly recommend this lovely clean and friendly cafe located in a beautiful place.

The perfect place for food and refreshments right on the beach. Great friendly service and tasty food at a reasonable price. We will be back soon on our next visit to South Sheilds

Very convenient for car parks and the beach. Delicious fresh coffee and amazing burgers and bacon rolls. In cold weather, the soups and broths are life savers. Staff always friendly and cheerful.

Popped in for an early Saturday morning bacon roll and coffee. The bacon roll was described as a muffin but was more like a mini stottie which was lovely. The bacon was well cooked and very tasty. The latte coffee was lovely and creamy. The tea was very good also. Recommend this very highly!

Very nice ice cream with lots of choice and toppings quite a Largs ice cream didn't think my husband would finish it but he did. Have the blue bubble gum.

This a typical Minchella's great coffee , friendly fast service even on busy days and they make a fantastic " Italian burger " one of the best burgers I have had for the money . There is nothing better than a good dog walk then a mid morning coffee and burger .

This Minchellas is perfectly situated to just chill out and watch the River and Harbour traffic after a good dog walk either along the beach or the pier. The coffee and ice cream are of the same high standard at the other Minchella coffee shops , this one does an incredible burger freshly cooked by very pleasant staff.

I always make an effort to call here whenever I'm at the seafront. The food and service are second to none. The winter broth and toasted muffin are great. My dog loves their sausages (Geordie Tapas). I really cannot fault this place in any way.

Great grilled chicken burger! If your out walking the dog or just stopping by then this place is perfect. Friendly staff, good food at a reasonable price! It's summer soon, pop down for a beer in the sun... £1 parking all day! Class....

Come here quite often with the family. Always amazing! Can't fault the place. Always the same young lad that serves us. He's great I want him at my restaurant! Customer service and food always second to none. Love coming here.

This is my absolute favourite place to stop for coffee. The food is superb (winter broth, egg muffin) and the staff are top rate. They add the personal customer service. I don't even have to order, the coffee's waiting for me. I've recommended Haven Point to my dog walking friends and every one of them gives the establishment a glowing report. Thank-you Vince, Louis and the boys.

We went today after been told that the burgers were amazing and they were !!! However the staff argued with us when we ordered the special off the board. Telling us that they was no 'special' and we politely asked them to come out of the Hut to see it . After a few good minutes they realised that there was 'a special on the board'

Have to say whether it's a burger or a BLT always feel satisfied with the food at this place. They also do a decent cup of tea. The staff are always pleasant and the chef is friendly and accommodating.

A great and very welcome venue for a brew and a snack in style while walking the coast here. We dropped in on a day of rainbows, hailstones and sunbursts - the service was equally spectacular, fast and friendly. Recommended. Just one note - keep your prices down please!

Staff were surprised that someone would want ice cream in the middle of October but it was my wife's treat for me(she saw the sea first) Lovely Vanilla ice cream and her flavoured wasn't bad either

Stopped here for coffee and a bite to eat for lunch after a walk along South Shields Pier. Coffee okay, wraps could be better.

We stopped here for a snack after looking around the Roman fort (Arbeia). I had a cheese and ham toasty and my friend had a hot dog. Both dishes were a much higher standard than I would expect from a takeaway restaurant at the beach. They were delicious and reasonably priced too. This place is definitely worth checking out!

absolutely brilliant location, and so much variety of ice cream and many other such appetisers, friendly staff and great views of the sea, what more can one ask.

Well placed for enjoying a coffee or ice cream with superb views of the adjoining beach area. Benches are conveniently placed for sitting outdoors in clement weather & provide a nice open place to savour the atmosphere of this seaside spot.

This ice-cream is, according to the wife, sheer bliss, delicious and proper ice-cream; worth more than one visit.

Cracking little stop off right by the beach. Prices fairly reasonable and the food was just what I needed. Will definitely be back.
