Gem of a restaurant in an unexpected area as this kind of place you wouldn't be surprised to see in redland, Clifton or the Gloucester road. Noodles are incredible as are the various starters.

It was my first time here and I would like to say that I don’t have any problems with the food itself which is excellent. But there are criticisms I would like to provide : 1) The optional Service Charge should not be added on to the bill by default. That is very scummy. You can ask your customers if they want to add it when paying the bill. 2) The food is on the more expensive side and I feel that I do not receive the value for my money at that price. I would like to ask to increase the size of the bowl and its contents rather than cut down on the price. 3) Minor criticism- The soup ladle is too small for a ramen bowl and it’s exhausting to scoop tiny bits of soup every time. I would like to ask to increase the size of the ladle slightly to accommodate that. I would like to come back to this place as I liked the food itself but I would like the restaurant to implement some of these changes if possible in some form. I usually do not write reviews but I feel like these tiny changes will truly help the restaurant.

Got served half raw pork (pink like ham - but it was char siu??), sides and the noodles were cold, but luckily the soup was hot enough to warm the food up. Visited the first day but was full, so we tried to reserve the next day. But the waitress got our booking wrong to 9am instead of 7pm, so that was a bit weird. But overall, the vibe was nice and cozy.

Came here for an early dinner at 5pm, luckily we were offered a table for 45 minutes despite not being able to book ahead of time! All three of us a got the sapporo miso ramen, the broth was rich and flavourful - felt like a warm hug:) also great ratio of beansprouts to noodle! and the aubergine starter was amazing, really melt in your mouth and great flavour! The only thing I'd say is that the portion of char siu is on the small side (3 thin slices per bowl) from what I was expecting, especially compared to the portion of noodles and for the price, so we opted to order a couple more toppings on the side to share between us. Otherwise, staff were friendly and the vibes are really nice, overall great and would definitely come back and recommend to try!

Decent bowl of ramen. I had the special sezchuan chilli ramen and it was a good flavour combo! Not too spicy either. The textured ridged grippy ends of the chopsticks took a bit to get used to I've only ever used smooth ones! Karaage oyster mushrooms were very crispy and the sauce was really good! Good amount of sake options too 👌

So tasty and humble. It doesn’t break the bank and delivers in flavour. Out of many ramens I tried in the UK this one is THE one that delivers in flavour. The noddles are so incredibly crafted. They were perfectly cook and al dente. My daughter can be very picky but she enjoyed a lot her ramen. Last time we went out for ramen in Oxford she didn’t touch it. And to be fair it was disgusting. No at Tomo no ramen. Plenty of layers of flavour to go around and please the most picky eater. The best dish of the night was the aubergine. No idea what they put on it. But it is highly addictive. Go and try it. Won’t disappoint! P.s. there is not dessert available, but I love that!

This was an outstanding find and I really enjoyed the ramen and starters we enjoyed as part of our meal. The ramen really was outstanding - very richly flavoured and filling. We also had the crumbed oyster mushrooms and chicken and actually it was a bit hard to finish it all with the rich ramen as well. The atmosphere is busy but has a nice bustle about it. The staff were helpful and friendly and were able to explain everything on the menu very well. I liked that they had a kombucha as a drink option since I don't really drink alcohol. One thing to note is that the dinner reservations are turned around very promptly and your table is booked for only 1 hour. It is advisable not to turn up too early for your table or expect to lounge around after your allotted booking time. Given that its a ramen place, I think this is entirely appropriate but it is something to consider when booking to eat, especially if its for an occasion. I am still dreaming about the pork ramen I had and fully intend to go again soon. For us, who don't live in central Bristol, we found parking in Cabot Circus convenient since its a 10 minute walk away (and it was easier for us to get out of Bristol after the meal so was convenient for us).

Grab yourself a cup of tea, cos this is gunna be a good one It was a cold winters evening, my partner and I had finalised a project, and decided to celebrate, we thought to buy noodles at lidl and make our own, but we had a draw to go out and celebrate the proper way! We had always wanted to try Tomo no Ramen, but it was always busy on the days we felt spontaneous, and for good reason! We took our chances with a walk in, I don't know if it was a full moon or if Venus was in retrograde, but the stars where aligned that night and we got a seat just as soon as someone was leaving!! :') The staff where so lovely and accommidating, we where sat down promptly, and the menu was explained to us with no hesitationan! The menu is on the dearer side, but for bloody good reason, it was possibly one of the best ramens ive ever eaten, if I ever want a cheap noodle dinner, I would have gone to chili daddies and served myself, but no, Tomo no ramen accommodate you to the fullest exstent. Now, let's get into this! We both ordered a vegetarian ramen, myself the black garlic, and my partner got the special. The black garlic was creamy, and mild, smokey and just 100% packed with flavour! The noodles where cooked to total perfection, and I know this sounds stupid, but the best egg ever. The special had the most amazing flavour, the minced mushroom was devine, and the minuet i put my lips to that broth, i let out an audible gasp, followed by a 'WOW', if u dont believe me, ask the waistress that walked into the act, or anyone within a 10m radious of my table. We had a side of some cripy aubergine, and i seriously havent put something that good in my mouth before and ive put a lot in my mouth over the last 29 years. I srsly need to know, is it crispy, is it soft, does it melt in the mouth, was it sticky, sweet or savoury, it was EVERYTHING!! Please leave a comment below if u have anything on the case of the tasty aubergine.. I awaite ur responce! Now, look at me going on like I have nothing else to do on a saturady morning, let me leave u with some advice, book in advance, and dont hold back! We left with a smile from ear to ear, and bellies so full we had to waddel home! Thank u Tomo no Ramen, i owe u my life, and if not that, then i owe u something! Till next time Sj xoxo

Best Ramen in Bristol, no question. Portions are just right. I had the lamb tantanmen the first time. I could not finish the broth because it was too salty. When the broth was steaming hot it was less noticeable. As a broth temperature decreases that saltiness was too much. I found that quite bizarre for a restaurant ‘specialising’ in ramen. Ramen is a relaxing, wholesome, replenishing dish, but this restaurant experience and the ramen was not in line with that. Very noisy with the music. Very fast food restaurant vibes. If you allocate me one hour then best have my order taken within ten-15 minutes of arriving. We were waiting thinking okay well they will take our order quick then had to call for a waiter after 20 mins. Received food after half an hour. Very puzzling. I didn’t bother to speak to anyone at the time about how the food being too salty because the vibe of the place is you get in and out, and with respect to my waiter just seemed like they wouldn’t have known what to do with my comments. But yeah, that level of saltiness is not required in broth!

So accommodating and the food absolutely amazing, it was my friends first birthday in the UK after moving from Japan and she gave a massive stamp of approval on the food 👍

The food is really nice but overpriced, the waitress who took our order was not helpful, even though we had a booking and half of the restaurant was empty she couldn't give us the only separate table which is for 2 people as she said it's booked.. but we had a booking and was 2 of us so couldn't understand her logic.. will go back sometime as the food is really nice but I hope they can have more decent prices next time

First time here, I've been meaning to come for ages but work gets in the way. Good was excellent. The spice took my Mrs off guard, maybe we can ask for the chilli oil to be left off next time? The menu, though small. We want to try all on it. So will definitely be back. Fried mushrooms a must!!! 👌👍🤗😁

Amazing flavours. Ramen broth was subtle but refreshing and left you craving for more. 2 mains and 3 sides between two was plenty if not a little indulgent. Mushroom Karaage the highlight 😍😍

Small menu, but that means you cannot go wrong with any of the choices. Tofu ramen was amazing, and the broth was a highlight. Need to go back to try the specials.

Probably one of the best coppers I've eaten so far; small and welcoming place, courteous staff and super boss for advice and more. Prices a little high but we are in England. I recommend the fried mushrooms as a starter which have a very good curry mayonnaise and the Garlic Shoyu while chili shoyu is very spicy.

This place always closes when I'm in Bristol :( Managed to finally visit it recently and the chef crafted the ramen with passion, easily making it one of the best ramen I had in England so far 😋

The menu changes a lot so perhaps we were just unlucky when we attended. The spaghetti was hard, the meatballs and other starters were oily. The sauces were very good. The prices were a bit high for w

Came here to watch the euros, the food was excellently priced (£9 for a triple burger and chips), tasted really good and was quick to come out, lots of seating areas and TVs to watch the game.
