Breakfast here was fine, big portions and well cooked. Dinner was far worse. The steak served here was dry and very overdone, I was expecting a lot more for £30 price tag! I myself had a pizza which was average. The food took a very long time to be served even though the restaurant was almost empty and the staff were sub par, it was a disappointing experience for us having read good reviews for the place. Perhaps we went with too high expectations. The Plough & Harrow hotel was great but this restaurant was not. I would come back for breakfast, not dinner.

Good food, well cooked and cooked to specification (except they don't know how to fry eggs). Self serve continental breakfast style breakfast included.

I regularly visit the Plough & Harrow Hotel as a place to go for a quiet relaxing evening in ambient surroundings and would go as far as to say that I am a regular customer. Whether it be for a glass of wine and a place to read a good book, do some work on my laptop, have a meal with a friend or indeed, as a venue for my Rotary Club, I find the hotel like no other in Birmingham I have visited so far with its rustic feel, beautiful, traditional interior and professional yet fairly informal staff, it is a must visit if you're passing through or want somewhere to get away from it all. The restaurant is classy and tables always have classic, smart linen table cloths and are more than adequately equipped with attention to detail anticipating the customers' need. The main bar lounge is, equally decorated with its own unique style with ornamental mirrors and an assortment of comfortable easy chairs complete with a beautiful large grand piano. Wine is of a superb standard and I would recommend a glass of Red Moet, preferably with a plate of cheese and biscuits. Considering that this is a three star venue, I also consider the prices to be good value for quality food and drink. I find that we are well looked after and wouldn't hesitate to ask for anything I or my friends may need during a visit. Sadly however, I have not stayed at the hotel and therefore cannot comment on this side of the business. I do sometimes wish there was more range for vegetarians but find that there is often a respectable main course on offer.

Lovely weekend going to a wedding in Birmingham. Hotel very accomodating and friendly. Reserved a table in the bar for 10 of us. Decor a bit faded but I guess that's why it's rated 3 star not 4

Food was very lovely. All staff were very friendly and so polite and happy from the moment we walked in until we left. Lola was our server and I cannot praise her enough.

Went for a last minute Sunday lunch. The wait to order took a while but once they realised their error the service was great. The food was delicious and Latoya was so attentive. She has a lovely, frie
