Tokyo Pizza in City of London, Westminster

We were intrigued by the concept, but the food itself fell short of our expectations. The pizza looked very appetising but was covered in a garlic mayo which ended up being all you could taste - it would’ve worked better if it was on the side. We were not a fan of the mochi garlic bread, but it’s probably an acquired taste. The karaage chicken was fine but nothing special. Overall it was fine but we probably wouldn’t recommend.

This is basically a simple pizza bar that also does takeaways. The pizzas are good but they're not gourmet and it's not a restaurant as such, it's a pizza bar. If you want something very casual with a group of friends it could work.

Good spot for great eats. Had edamame, chicken katsu, pizza, sake and cheesecake. Our party of 4 were all satisfied. Harp was our sever. She was so sweet and patient.

The best pizza in town and solid 10/10. Service great too thanks Ela, and lovely staff. We can’t recommend enough.

Great pizza and side, cocktails were also really good. Staff, really friendly. Overall, an excellent experience.

I can recommend the rice dishes. The wagyu beef pizza is nothing of the sort. It’s a spicy salami onto which a microgram of wagyu beef might have been waved. The result is nasty. We were served by a very pleasant young lady but her English wasn’t too good leading to a few misunderstandings. Worst of all the staff do not get the service charge added to the bill. I asked them to remove it and left a cash tip. It’s not the fault of staff, it’s greedy owners providing poor training and valuing profit over service.

Very tasty pizzas. Sanchi is an excellent host. We have come here many times. Love it every time. Good for family with kids.

I was intrigued by the concept of Japanese fusion pizza and other items. The restaurant is small, set in a basement space with a bar, neon lights and very loud club music (a bit too loud to be honest but I’m sure younger people would love it). The food was delicious, short rib croquettes, raw tuna tacos, crunchy edamame salad. We had the short rib pizza which was very nice but essentially just a good margarita with some short rib on it. I think the other stuff like the starters were more interesting. The cocktails were good. I would go again.

We’ve been ordering takeout (excellent chicken katsu curry) from this place for a while but tonight visited it in person and am wondering why it took so long to check it out. Food was really good. Inventive, tasty, and so far from basic Japanese. Decor and music lively (it’s much bigger than you’d think) and great staff - thanks again Hamid. We’ll be back

Simply awful. The food was not great. It was unimaginative. Portions were small. The place was essentially a pizza place. The Tokyo bit is just that they use Japanese ingredients rather than Italian. Not sure that added anything to the food, just to the bill. Overall an unimpressive experience.

The idea sounds great. Pizza with a Japanese twist. The photos look inviting. The menu interesting, with more than just pizza - and the venue is quite cool. However - what lets it down is the food. The pizza dough is not good - a bit card-boardy, and the toppings a bit hit or miss. But if the base of a pizza is a miss, there really isn't much chance of regaining points elsewhere. The short-rib topping was stringy and tough. The squid was nice, but the sauce on the side didn't really complement - but more drowned out the flavour. This place has the potential to be great and a good fun place to go with a group - but if its leading with Pizza - that needs to be excellent to start with.

Pizza realizzata con tutti gli ingredienti della pizza napoletena, pomodoro San Marzano, fior di latte e, suppongo, farina Caputo. Impasto napoletano e mani sapienti. Tutto questo abbuinato ad ingredienti giapponesi fanno della pizza di Tokyo Pizza qualcosa di unicamentr strepitoso. Abbiamo avuto la fortuna di assaggiare tutti gli antipasti e molte delle pizze e devo dire che sono rimasto piacevolmente sorpreso dal connubio delle 2 culture culinarie. Incredibile la pizza con il manzo di Kobe. Il servizio è stato eccellente, veloce e simopatico. Da tornarci quanto prima.
