I used it for a business dinner. It wasn't too crowded, so we had the second floor almost reserved for ourselves. I think it's quite expensive in terms of price, but the taste, customer service, and variety of drinks are perfect, and it's well worth the price for a business or special occasion dinner. They took good care of my lactose and fructose intolerance, so I was able to enjoy cocktails for the first time in a while. Most of the menu features raw fish, but they also have items such as wagyu beef, edamame, and tempura, so I think it would be okay to invite Westerners who don't like raw fish. The Wagyu beef that melts on your tongue is chewy, the rich handmade tofu, various original Japanese cocktails, perilla ice cream, and many other things on the menu that you don't often find in Japan. Even as a Japanese person, I enjoyed it!! I gave it an overall 4 stars because there are no chicken dishes on the current menu, and because it is too high-class and difficult to use on a daily basis, but with Dassai sparkling and other ingredients, it is a must-have for entertaining Westerners with Japanese food. I think it's a good thing.

Never again. We made a booking with Tokimiete for 8.15 pm Saturday 2nd September. Got the confirmation by email etc. this was for a special occasion and we had travelled from north west uk for this and the theatre earlier in the day. We arrived in good time-to discover the restaurant was closed and not open again till the 5th. I’m appalled that customers can be treated with such lack of regard. When booking places like this expectations around arrivals and grace periods, dress codes and how long you will have the table for are clearly laid out for you. In return, the most basic expectation from the customer is that you will be open and serving food for your diners.

Been quite a bit of Japanese restaurants in London and so far I would say Tokimeite is the best in terms of the freshness of fish and authenticity. Even though the restaurant is a posh style, the staff were welcoming and willing to chat with customers. We’ve had counter seats and they were very friendly and also professional. We ordered sashimi set, negitoro and tuna maki. It was all well-represented and fresh. I was groaning with joy when I ate fatty tuna - probably one of the best quality I’ve had! Although it may not be a place where everyone can go regularly due to the price, it made me feel that I want to come back again. Based on the reviews, they had bad management a few years ago, but now they deserve a much higher rate than what it is now. So I hope more people will give it a go.

Food is very good. Solid 8+/10 depending on your choice. Service is very good. Prices are very toppish, small dinner at 150pp with no wine.. also a real pity that every time I’ve gone is basically empty. Not much atmosphere. Said this, can’t fault the chef - the sushi is amazing.

OUTSTANDING SUSHI As a native Londoner with a taste for sushi I have tried a few over my 36 years and can say Tokimeite is a cut above the rest. The service was flawless from start to finish. Waiting staff were on hand at the slightest glance and were welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. We chose to sit at the counter and I would advise anyone else in a small group to do the same. Both the chefs made the experience. Their easy conversation and obvious passion for food resulted in us getting to try a number of items not on the menu and just because the Chef was keen for us to experience and enjoy. The Cornish squid was an absolute stand out - delicate cuts on both sides gave it a really creamy texture - not at all chewy like is too often the case. Paper thin slices of yellow tail in ponzu sauce, and bigger fatty cuts of yellow tail with shiso flowers were all delicious. The meaty bonito and the tuna were full of rich flavour. All the fish far higher quality than the majority of sushi restaurants. We tried all the deserts (again at the chefs generosity) and the shiso and persimmon sorbet left us with a fresh, energizing taste to clean our palettes. Thank you Tokimeite for a great experience.

I visited this lovely restaurant in the heart of Mayfair having followed one of their very talented chefs, Jon, for some time on Instagram. Not only was he kind enough to respond to my DMs, he was so welcoming when I showed up 20 minutes early for my reservation. Jon was insightful about his product, his professionalism and skill were unsurpassed and I was truly blown away to find out that he’s self-taught in a cuisine that often has a rigorous pedigree. The service was fast and attentive, lighting and seating were soft and comfortable. The food was sublime and I only wish I could have fit more. As a self-professed sushi aficionado it’s rare to find traditional and inspired sushi in London at this level but this place has both. Highly recommend to newbies and people like myself who prefer raw over anything else. I will definitely be back!

After we arrived we were asked if we were ready to order four times! 😳 We took some friends who were visiting from the US. When the food did arrive all of the starters came at different times and then so did all the mains. It was terrible. The manager then tried to make up for it and offer us sake shots. I was embarrassed and mortified. Off the regular visit list this goes. If restaurants cannot cope with a lot of customers they should not run at full capacity. So disappointed! Gutted.

Beautifully fresh Nigiri. The Bento box was also excellent. Highlights for us was the Fresh Tofu starter & the scallop, which tasted freshly of the sea. Tokimeite is most well known for their Wagyu. We shared a Wagyu rump beef, which was buttery and perfectly prepared. Beautiful ice cream to finish. Everything was made fresh to order. Excellent, personal service throughout. The team were also great with gluten free, producing their own GF soy sauce. Highly recommended.

Tokimeite is a bit difficult name to remember but the food is not as they are all so good! It locates off from Regent Street and surrounded by many big name fashion shops. As location shows, the price is not cheap but compared with other Japanese-ish expensive restaurants, this place is much more reasonable. If you are not so sure, you can try lunch menu. As a Japanese, I am a bit tired of expensive Japanese-ish sushi places in London, so Tokimeite (being thrilled, in Japanese) is a great find. They seem to be a fish merchant and its fresh fish variety proves it. We didn't have sushi this time but all sashimi and tempura are great. Also its dessert are all full of flavour! In addition, the staff are really warm and welcoming us, and we live to go back again. If you worry about crowded restaurant, maybe now is good time while regulars and tourists are not around much (I am writing as of 29th of July, 21). Thank you for all the lovely staff. The worst value for money I have ever encountered in a London restaurant. I eat out regularly and 50% of the time choose high end sushi restaurants. The best way to summarise this place is to imagine you are on a hidden camera show and they are purposely mocking you until you realise it’s all a joke. Unfortunately it isn’t. I’ve had Sushi lunch set (Chef’s choice 10 kinds) £30 with Sencha Green tea £6. The tea here was very delicious, well worth every penny. The first course was very creamy handmade tofu. Miso soup and baby leaf salad with chrysanthemum petals next. Very pretty. Mr. Hayashi (main chef) prepared my sushi right front of me. Then he took time to explain not only the name of the fish, but where each fish came from. The most delicious thing was red prawn.I forgot whether the place of origin was Portugal or Spain, but It was sweet, tender and a bit of cranch at the end and it was really nice. The ginger is pickled with orange on site as well. It was a satisfying lunch. The service charge is 14.5% here. In London it’s around 12.5%, so it is more than average. since it was polite service (especially Ms. Hayashi), there is no problem at all. However, if they serve the salad a little earlier, it might be nice to be eaten as an appetiser.

The food arrives relatively later than other places. Having said that though, I was sitting at the bar so I can see the chef moving here and there, putting things on the plate, deep frying chicken karage, pouring miso soup into tiny red cups which the chef sprays over briefly, and so on. Point is, they are not slacking off. They are just making sure everything is good when it is done. And it was good. My friend and I agreed this is better than some stores nearby the area. And the portion is not too big. I ordered the standard bento. It comes in 4 quadrants. Top left are some pickled and fried vegetable, top right is chicken karage, bottom left is some rice with a sliced salmon teriyaki and bottom right is where you choose your main. I chose the waygu steak thinking it comes in the meat form. But it came as a burger patty. A bit disappointed in that but everything else is perfect. They give you a small bowl of steamed egg/tofu to start and your bento comes with good miso soup, full of mushroom and tofu and seaweed. No dessert though for the bento set. Overall good food. really good food. Just be patient.

Food was excellent , the selection of mains could have been more of a varied choice . No black cod on menu and no cocktails. The beef wagua was outstanding.

Almost perfect. Relaxing setting, truly awesome food, and friendly staff. But orders need to be done faster. I ordered three drinks over the night. 8mins, 10mins, and finally 15mins wait time for just a beer. Besides this, great!

I really don't know what issue other reviewers have with this restaurant. The food is great, the service is good, ambiance very likeable, it's suitably contemporary but not "industrial style"... Prices are high, but then it's as advertised.

Overpriced. The service is not of the quality you expect for such ridiculous prices. They sell you Japanese food but all waiters are European ? The place was literally dead on a Wednesday evening. Decoration is ok, like you would expect for a £30pp place. Don't go there

Not understanding the 1 star reviews. Trendy ambiance, and the food we had was great, very well presented and tasty. Service is good but there is room for improvement. Overall, a good experience.

I felt inspired to write something when I saw how many negative reviews were on here. I had a fantastic meal on Tokimeite, it feels like I must have eaten at an entirely different place to some of these reviewers. The food was fantastically tasty, liberal use of truffle which I heartily approve of. Good cuts of wagyu used in the steak dishes and each dish is imaginatively presented. I ate at the bar which added a show case element to everything at the same time. The sommelier was approachable and gave good advice on which wine to pair with the dish selection. No it's not cheap but I have spent more on worse meals in London.

The plate decoration is good but some food are ok, did not really meet the standard of great and the sushi or other "Japanese style" dishes were not so pleasant, in a JAPANESE restaurant. The waiter and the manager were serving badly, dress smart but meh. The eating environment is compress and full of loud and inappropriate background music. This is not a good place to enjoy good dining nor Japanese cuisine.

This place is amazing!! We went here last Friday and had the best evening. The staff are just about as helpful as can be without hovering... the sommelier was so helpful as was our waiter. I can't fault the food, I'm a massive fan of truffle so I was in heaven! The wagyu beef is... there are no words... close your eyes and let it take you to taste bud heaven. 5 courses of magic. The final bill was a bit much but when the food is that good... you can't really complain. Will be back when I get a pay rise ❤️

Ippudo Ramen has lost its charm. While the broth remains rich, the portions have shrunk, and the toppings lack freshness. The biggest letdown was the service—once attentive, it's now slow and disinterested. For the high price, the overall experience doesn’t deliver the value it used to. Sadly, Ippudo no longer justifies its premium cost.

Really nice experience, with perfect cocktails and tasty appetisers
